Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been not so long since his Byakugan acted so strange… it was still emitting random, bright-white light, and he hadn’t been able to activate his normal Byakugan in a while. However, due to having time to observe it, he came with the idea that this was probably a new level of Byakugan… and if his source wasn’t wrong… then this could be a developing Hakumei Byakugan. For now, he hoped that to be the case, and that it would be complete as soon as possible…

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Time always felt like standing still when travelling across the Land of Lightning. The only moments when the wheel of time spun was when a random bolt hit the ground nearby. Otherwise, the clouds covered the sky 24/7, and night and day seemed to overlap each other a little too much. In the past, Hon usually had no issues telling the time like anyone else; just look at the sky and see if it’s bright or dark, then you’d know if it was day or night. Today, however, it was different; the clouds’ pitch-black shadows dominated Earth’s roof and made it seem as if it was night-time all the time. It was very apparent that winter time was coming…

To summarize today’s case; a group of shinobis had disappeared in the middle of a journey to one of the large villages up north. Their help was needed due to the cold, dark season slowly taking over, and the crops were unusually late to bloom. Now, because of said people’s disappearance, it felt inevitable that a huge production of food and cattle would be lost for the year. Therefore, two shinobis had been sent to find out what happened to the previous shinobis sent there - whether if they were dead or alive was a mystery. At this point, anything could’ve happened to them.

Hon was donning a white, traditional Eastern t-shirt and black kung-fu leggings. No mask, none of that ANBU starter package today, he was operating with a more open atmosphere… it was also because of his company, a shinobi under the name Kagetsu Ryu. Hon was grateful to have some back-up for this, because what would prevent him from disappearing as well?

A hand was held up to signal that he would brake in the middle of the rocky crater that they had to travel through. They would have to prepare a camp here for the night, and it would also function as a checkpoint for when they had likely found the missing Kumonin. “Let’s camp here,” he suggested, “These boulders and rocks are hiding this area pretty well.”

The sky was colored in pitch black color, As Ryu seen towards the sky, he thought that today will be a lucky day for him because of the color of sky, it was kind his favorite color as well. So after seeing the sky Ryu decided to wear the most beautiful cloths of his. The set he wore in his mission was a pitch black colored T-shirt and pants with a black jacket on with red lines. As his jacket contains a hood, he wore it because of the cold season going on.

The mission contained some secrets itself which Ryu wanted to uncovered, like how some of the shinobi’s and normal peoples were missing who are travelling to a large city and how crops are glomming late. As Ryu decided to meet the other person who is as skilled as he is, the only thing Ryu knows about him was his name and about his powers like he has Byakugan.

So as they both starts heading there way, Ryu introduces himself to him at the front of the gates and then they both starts moving out. As Ryu asks him “So Hon, where should we start?” and then Ryu waits for his response. But Ryu was one of the mysterious peoples in cloud village. As his abilities were still unknown to other peoples and about his left arm which he always kept hiding from others. And then as Hon stops in the way and says to Ryu about camping at this place because the place was kept hidden by big rocks and boulders. As Ryu knew that’s the best decision Hon made and then he replies him with a small smile on his face “Sure, let’s camp here. No one will be able to notice us due to these big boulders and rocks and it will make a good platform too.” As Ryu continues “so let’s have a little fire at this place so that we don’t catch cold.” As Ryu has already seen some woods and then he does a simple fire jutsu to lit those woods up. Ryu thought that it was just an easy job for him as he possess all the elements of ninjutsu. And then as the fire was lit and the surrounding area was getting cold Ryu asks Hon “So Hon, what’s the plan on our search? Where should we start?” and then he waits for his response.

It was getting colder the further up north they came. It stood to reason why they needed a camp; on top of some source of warmth and a base, the journey was long and stony for now… and it would likely continue to be such until they reached the farmers’ land. It would be a good idea for Hon and Ryu to get things sorted, because they were about 3/4th on the way to the village.

Ryu came up with a source of fire - a classical bonfire constructed by his Fire-Style Jutsu. Now that Hon thought about it, he too possessed a few Fire-Style Jutsus himself… alas, a very small amount compared to all the Lightning Jutsus that he had mastered until now. Perhaps he should learn some more Fire Jutsus? He never bothered learning all the five Jutsu Styles, because… well, just because. He couldn’t put his tongue on it, precisely… maybe it was inherent. Maybe his Bloodline had a role in this, given that Hyuuga’s usually excel in Taijutsu rather than Ninjutsu.

Approaching the fire, Hon crouched down and warmed his hands a little. Ryu was ready to know about their plan - how should they approach the village, and how were they guaranteed to find out anything? “We’ll have to approach in secret… those shinobis might’ve been targeted, so if they see more shinobis from Kumo, then we’d likely trigger the danger in wait and ruin our objective,” he explained to Ryu, “… If there’s a chance that those shinobis are still alive, then we have to bring them back now.”

“Usually, these situations are the results of enemies… I hope you haven’t slacked off on your training. Assume that we’ll engage in combat if we aren't careful enough,” he assured Ryu. It was more than logical that some syndicate, group of thugs or a shinobi terrorist group had attacked the Jounin and Genins, either killing them all - forbid that - or taking them hostage. And without their help with the crops, the village wouldn’t be able to come through the winter, and they already needed to work with alternative ways of farming in case if the climate proved unsuitable.

Then again, it could've also just been some avalanche or earthquake or any natural cause that removed the Jounin and Genins from the equation... but never lower your expectations as such on a mission.

“Therefore, we shouldn’t draw attention when entering the village. If there’s a problem, then it should be removed from the inside - that ensures an efficient success. Do you have any ideas on how to sneak in effectively?”

As Ryu was waiting for Hon’s response about what he asked him and then he replied him that they have to sneak in that village so no one can knows that there is two new shinobi’s entered in the village. As he continues to explain that if the kidnapped shinobi’s are still alive then they have to save them from that place so they can also get back to village. Then Hon’s says a quite unpleasant sentence to Ryu as he asked him that if he has not slacked off in his training schedules because there is a chance of battle in this mission. Then with a little bit of anger in Ryu eyes, he still replies Hon with a smile on his face, “Hon I’m not a kind of that person who stops his work even if I was asked to stop, so don’t underestimate me, okey Hon.” As Ryu answers him, he waits for his response. Then Hon says that if they manage to sneak in the village without getting any attention then they can remove the problem from inside and then Hon asks for Ryu’s opinion on this idea and a way to sneak in.

As Ryu was asked a question, he answers him “Well Hon it’s a great idea to sneak into the village but we still don’t know where the enemies are hidden, so we have to make in a careful way. But still if we have a way then it was via Air or by going under the ground.” As Ryu put his opinion in the question, he waits for Hon to respond to him.

… Shit, Hon was most likely dealing with a brute here. He could see right through Ryu’s mask of formality - credits to him for restraining himself - and fathom the hidden reaction to his words. Maybe he touched a nerve, maybe he went too far… this was just like with Mina. Was Hon just too offensive on his phrasing? Was he that annoying to accompany?

“… W-Wonderful,” he replied in utter delight, a sweat pearl of awkwardness falling off his face. After that, the plan was carefully explained; Hon would have to elaborate on their way to the village, though, as the geographic alignments were crucial. Was the village really in the middle of a plain? Was it built upon mountains like Kumogakure? Or was it, perhaps, built on the side of a ravine?

“You’re right… we’ll have to get a little bit closer to the village before we discuss how to sneak in,” he concluded, “… *sigh*” His breath travelled across the bonfire as the weather revealed itself to be cold enough for 37 degree hot, vapored breath to become visible in the air like a thick fog or the breathing of a demon. It began to snow, slowly… this level of atmospheric precipitation was a warning. The winter was coming… it would render the village unable to grow its crops or harvest the already growing ones at the moment… Hon realized the deadline that they had…

“I hope that we’ll find a good solution… the weight on my shoulders is frustrating,” Hon mentioned, “The weight of a whole village and its population… their daily bread… have you ever felt this way before, Dragon?” Just for the sake of familiarity, he referred to Ryu as what his name meant - Dragon. An ancient, fabled beast that was… well, it was likely a flying serpent that breathed fire instead of poison, and it lived underwater…

As Ryu starts noticing a fear on Hon's face as he thinks that he had gone a little far, then Ryu starts hiding his demonic form and coming back to his normal a calm and quite formal persona. As Hon starts thinking about something which is clearly on his face, as Ryu says to him, "Hon dont you worry, I'm just joking with you to change the mood of surrounding." Ryu has a smile on his face while saying this which showed no trace of rage or anger even if you search as much as you want. Ryu has completely hide his bloodlust behind his smile.

After a little later, Hon says wonderful out of nowhere which put Ryu into a crazy infinity loop of confusion in his mind. Then Hon said to Ryu that he was right about thr sneaking plan, they both have to go closer to tge village to find about its geography about how it is build Is it in plain? or Mountains like cloud village is? But what Ryu hated was this damned serious surrounding near him.

As the atmosphere has started to change and Ryu didn't wanted to end up using all his chakra or power to just maintain this bofire in a place like this where a snowfall is on going. Then after thinking a little Ryu's mind has hit an idea about how he can create a ring of fire around him. Actually Ryu didn't need any fire for him because of his bloodline which helps him to become as hard as a metal. But Ryu knew that he has to protect Hon at a place like this or his demonic bloodlust will be out to kill someone once again and it was thag damned reason why Ryu has a metal arm. Then after thinking a little Ryu starts waving some hand seals but he has doubts about if Hon know about his handseals. And then as he was done with his hand seals he creates a ring of fire in the sky as Ryu moves that ring near them and then puts both of them into that ring and then he says to Hon "Hon we will be alright now, you dont have to worry about me just get yourself a little warm I'm way much more stronger than you can think I am. I have a massive amount of chakra so dont worry." as Ryu was done talking he waits for Hon to reply to him.

Then Hon says to Ryu that he was hoping thag they can find a good solution as soon as they can because it was kind of weight on his shoulders, as he as Ryu if he feels the same way as him dragon. As Ryu answers him "Yeah, it sometimes feels like a weight on my shoulders too and thats a damned reason I always do everything alone, you are kind of my first partner in a mission and also drop that dragon, if you will call me simply Ryu, it would be nice of you." as Ryu waits for his reply to him.

It was rather pleasant to have someone else around to talk to. Previously, all Hon’s missions were done alone - efficiently but lonesome. He should start thinking of them both as equals, not that he had the biggest responsibility or vice versa. They were both critical in the succession of this mission. That was the true mindset to rely on. And as many other mindsets, they kind of got stuck in Hon’s head for a long while as he was a funny little thinker - yet, little he wouldn’t call himself. He had grown like a few inches since summer, so he saw himself as… well, adolescent. Grown-up. An experienced shinobi… but not as experienced as those whom his path had crossed.

Okay… the mood turned lighter now. The flames that Ryu summoned with his Fire Jutsu were pleasant too. Most of his anxiety disappeared slowly from the heat that he received. It kind of reminded him of his battle with Uri… back when his Hakumei Byakugan had just awakened and appeared to be just fine. Good times… but he needed more in order to master these eyes.

“Heh… same here,” he replied to Ryu’s explanation on how he usually did jobs alone. Hon did have a good group of friends, but as an ANBU, he was usually sent to faraway corners of the Land of Lightning in some instances. He had yet to receive his first human target, for instance.

After having gathered some warmth, the time seemed to be perfect for them to move on. “Okay, let’s move,” he suggested, rising up on his feet and slowly climbing over the boulder. On the other side, there was a road filled with uneven rocks, spikes and whatnot, and at the end of the trail, there was a body of grass sticking out… and small clumps of snow, too.

He slowly focused his Byakugan… it wasn’t nearly as effective as back at the fight with Uri. But he could feel the conditions - the more that he focused, the more his eyes aligned and approached the perfect state. It just took so long and required a lot of mind power… in some instances even chakra, even though he didn’t feel any Chakra Loss last time.

The fires from Ryu’s Jutsu had warmed up the cavern, conditioning it perfectly for a temporary house. It was nice that these caverns usually held their temperature solid even in the weirdest of weather changes. After having scanned the trail for any threats, Hon deemed it safe to go and rose a hand to signal Ryu. Right after that, he took off, advancing further towards the grassy plains where the village was located.
