Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Roku needed a drink, well that much was established quite some time ago. He suspected that he had gotten over the need for a drink a while ago since the lessons he had learned from the hammer. Sousuke needed a drink as a sort of means to unwind. He still refused to see the psychiatrist who claimed that he could visit her and 'vent or release his anger in a consequent free environment'. Roku and Sousuke went back, way back. He was one of the few remaining friends he had, since Harupia seemed to ... disappear into the ether. People did that more often than not, disappear. It was a very disturbing thing to happen. Katuso disappeared, and Mikaboshi returned as him in his flesh. Shiori? She disappeared. Turns out she was Mother Suna. Okibi and Tama disappeared. He wondered if Harupia was going to return and become merged with some sort of Eldritch terror. Hopefully not.

Sousuke was already at the pub. It was a class-ier establishment. Better than anything present in the Grand Palaias. A lot clear too. He had called to warn them of his patronage since usually him showing up meant ... prepare for a media swarm or worse. He saw shown his table and he ordered the first round of drinks while he waited for Roku to show up. This was a gathering between friends, not Kazekage and Sennin merely friends. The last time he went drinking with Roku, he ended up paying the bill because Roku decided to split because he pulled off singing a song while slightly drunk. He wondered if this time he was going to be stuck with the bill again too. Well... it didn't matter. Not overly. Okay maybe a little. He wondered if Roku was ... just maybe a little irresponsible outside of the job? Maybe. Kinda. Sorta. Well he did bring him to a stripper joint back many many years ago, and that ended awkwardly. It was a trick he and his brother played on him. Yes, a mission to ... what was it? Oh yes. Locate a woman in a most questionable establishment.

[col]It had not been that long ago that Roku found himself and Sousuke in this situation. His return from his exploits in the filth of the dark depths of the village he invited the Kage to join him for a drink. Now, it was Sousuke's chance to invite him. There was a lot on his mind and it seemed from his recent interactions with Sousuke that there were things weighing down upon him as well. That is why he enjoyed the act of drinking. It either allowed you to finally open up about what was weighing you down or it consoled you to the point of remaining silent. Only time would tell which sort of drinking adventure this was going to be.

Entering the location Roku would let out a whistle as it seemed his friend had a bit finer tastes than he did. Roku would have settled for a hole in the wall location, but he wasn't about to complain. Making his way towards the table, Roku would do his usual shtick of making sure some of the waitress knew he was present, in hopes of maybe having a conversation later, well something like that.

"Soooooooooooooooo, I say we avoid the competition this time and just casually drink? At least for the beginning."

He would playfully wink at the Kazekage as he raised his hand into the air to wave someone over towards their table to begin the consumption of libations.

"Agreed."<i></i> He answered Roku. A large Sunan lager was brought to his side. Sousuke stared at it for a while, he said nothing at first. "There's a human puppet in the village I had a psychiatrist look into. Human puppets are taboo, but what she suggested was far more off putting. She wanted me to see her and ... release all my frustrations and vent in a 'consequence free' environment. I doubt she really would be able to relate, if at all really. I think a lot of the things that apply to us are ... not situations that are meant to be shared. I mean ... it's without precedent."<i></i> Sousuke spoke as he reached forward and drank from the glass mug of beer. He emptied a quarter of it easily. He drank rarely. He tapped his fingers on the table. "I don't think you've ever seen one before either, considering the aftermath of waking up in a hospital and having time just ... drift and continue on without you?"<i></i> Roku had lost time, but he made up for it quickly enough. He lived a double life, and worked twice as hard as anyone else. Sousuke truly did appreciate what he was doing. He was taking the fight to the seedier individuals. He was cracking and breaking them down bit by bit. He wondered though, if like himself, did Roku ever sleep? "I certainly wouldn't want anyone to experience what I've gone through. Except maybe Kaito... or Urufuu for that matter."<i></i>

"How was your latest project going at the Order Hall? Did you get the materials you wanted for that design that I had ... 'motivated' you with?"<i></i> Roku was indeed a Journeyman. He was learning and learning quickly. His designs had a sort of spartan design to them, Roku's designs were ... not so much revealing but less defensive than his own. Roku wanted to hurt people but he needed the speed to do so. As such, some of his designs were vulnerable, but that was to the trained eye. The same could be said about Sousuke's designs too.

Hissori seemed different as he entered the lovely pub. The man had been relaxed for the first time in a while. His tan island complexion much deeper and fuller. Partially because he had been spending days out in the sun shirtless besides a pool with drink in his hand. Now after two more days of travelling the travelling medic and Tsuchikage had spent a good long time in a warm bath with lavender smelling salts. Of course, he had schedule a day at an animal spa for Buru, but for today, he had washed his dog with some shampoo and groomed the dogs fur with a fine tooth comb.

Hissori had dressed himself up in a light red button down shirt. He had left the top two buttons of the stylish shirt undone. The shirt itself matched the strawberry blonde hair that Hissori had combed and used just a bit of gel in order to give it a slightly spiky look to his style. He had on some skinny cream colored khaki’s that were held in place by his standard leather belt that had his old battered and beaten Mist emblem.

Both Kirigakurian boys took a seat at the bar. He’d only take a moment of looking at the bar’s menu before waving the bartender over. Flashing a slightly predatory smile with his sharp pearly white canines showing as he let the barkeep come over.

“Barkeep. May I have the island beer you have on tap, and a large bowl of vodka and milk for my companion here.” Hissori said about the white furred dire wolf sized canine that was staring up at the other man with icy blue eyes.

“Then more importantly, can I pay for the pub to have a round on me?” Hissori said flashing a wad of Yen that he had transferred over from his normal bank account. The Bar Keep was taken back from Hissori’s request but slowly began processing the order. The barkeep going out and refilling the drinks of everyone in the bar. Afterall, what was a better way to make friends over drinks? Free Drinks at that!

[col]Sousuke mentioned seeing a psychiatrist for another individual, and having them recommend themselves to him.

Now I bet that would be one hell of a session.

Sousuke did not seem too keen to the idea and he could not blame him. The Kage then went on to elaborate a bit more about his reasoning, which made perfect sense to the reckless man; who truly would understand what they've seen. The shinobi world was one big walking mental illness, full of repression, guilt, anxiety and all that other mix bag of 'goodies'. Sousuke then asked him if he had ever seen one, especially coping with his near death experience.

"Ha... you know, for the longest time following waking up I was so incredibly angry. Angry at being a live, angry at being in a spot where I could have died, angry about Saemon, just angry. Thankfully the Cabal attacked..."

He would give a halfhearted chuckle and look down at his drink before taking a rather large gulp.

"That situation gave me an outlet, a distraction. I could harness all of my emotions and put them towards one singular goal. I had a mission, so I couldn't dwell on my resurrection and process that fully."

There was a fear that would creep inside him every so often that maybe his only reason for still living was because the Cabal and the Sovereign continue to pop up, and that if he did finally ride the world of both and the Daimyo that he would be left without any true purpose.

"But you know, recently, I don't even think my anger was about living or dying, or my brother... do you ever just feel like you are broken? Like there is something missing, this huge itch you need to scratch, but you have no idea how to fill it or where to scratch? I kinda felt like that emptiness was because of Saemon..."

His hand would reach down to his belt pouch and clench the journal he had found for 'Subject 6'.

"But I don't know anymore."

In that moment, his eyes would grow wide as he would turn to Sousuke. For a brief moment, a blush would come over his face as he released that he had just talked to a man missing a piece of his soul about feeling broken and missing something.

Oh shit... granny is gonna be pissed...

At that time some cheers would begin to work their way around the bar as a waitress would approach the both of them to top off their drinks. She would explain, pointing to the clearly out-of-towner at the bar who had generously paid for everyone's drinks. This provided the perfect distraction for Roku to dodge the can of worms he might have just opened.

"Now that right there is a true hero!"

He would slap the table and begin pointing over to the stranger, which would probably draw his attention with the clear spectacle Roku was creating, as he tried to draw Sousuke's attention to this new predicament.

"Also, who the shit is that guy?"

Last time new people rolled into the village, things were blowing up, Kuro was getting burned alive and Roku was pummeling some skank into the ground, with the help of a shadow monster. So he was now genuinely curious about this mysterious money man.

"Anger can be channeled at something. For some it is a motivation. I've been warned and counseled about using anger as a means to an end."<i></i> It was hard to believe at times that this was the same Roku who he had been friends with for all these years. These days there was less charming of the ladies, and more visceral action. Then again Roku was now a sennin, his responsibilities were multiplied a hundred fold. Sousuke listened as he casually drained his pint glass. There was something that caused him to pause and think about it. "Until I met Okibi things felt hollow ... but things felt ... more fulfilling? Purpose? Perhaps."<i></i> As Roku continued Sousuke's expression sunk. "Roku have you ever ... felt like ... you're not who you're supposed to be--"<i></i> Their drinks were refilled. Sousuke scratched the side of his head as he was pretty sure none of them ordered a refill yet.

His mind though did rewind through the events surrounding them. In his mind's eye everyone walked backwards and spoke in a squirrely voice. He then slowed things down. Ah. There we are. Someone entered the bar and ordered a new round of drinks. Sousuke turned around with drink in hand to better inspect the person. He drained his refilled glass of beer. Sousuke blinked. As he did his mind ran through the man's appearance. Sousuke knew practically everyone by name in the village. It was not a mental trick, it was just a requirement of being Kazekage. "Not a member of Sungakure. Is lacking our natural tan, and any noticeable clan traits. "<i></i> He answered mechanically as he continued to process the individual. "Dire Wolf breed is foreign."<i></i> He added as he continued his analysis. Sousuke then found what he was looking for a symbol. It had seen better days and was worn with age. Sousuke would turn back to Roku. "We both can't stare. It's rude, and drawing attention. Granted he did just buy everyone a drink here."<i></i> Sousuke would relax back in the chair. "His belt. There is a Mist village symbol. The man is a survivor given that Mist was destroyed by an ice age. Mist had a tropical climate, which is why he inquired for an island beer most likely. "<i></i> Sousuke asserted. He had dealt with some Mist Nin before. there was one Kendori Shuu who was a rather ... thick and heavy chested white haired former medic. Yes ... she was ... Shuu was uhm ... unique. For being an older woman, she certainly seemed to have a childish streak to her that seemed to be ... unsettling?

Everything seemed well at the pub. Just a normal pub where people could come to talk, drink and relax. Sure, no one would want something to happen, that could ruin everyone's good time there. Here no one wanted any troubles. There was enough trouble outside of the pub, so this wasn't a place where you could bring your troubles.
The pub was clean, didn't had that alcohol smell, the waitresses were beautiful, the service was good and it seemed like people were having a great time. It wasn't one of those places where some drunk guys would just start a fight or non-stop spill their drinks. It was kind of a classy place.
People were talking, some (possibly) wealthy stranger ordered free drinks - just happy pub moments. What could possibly go wrong?
Suddenly the people there could hear something outside of the pub.
- Do you like this, asshole?!
It was a child's voice. Angry girl, screaming at someone. Soon after that they could hear another voice. It was a boy screaming and cursing. It sounded like a fight was going on.
The door of the pub opened fast and loud and two kids fell on the floor. The boy was on the ground, protecting his head and a girl was on top of him, punching the boy in the face.
The most noticing thing in her was that she looked exactly how an Uchiha would look - pale skin, black hair, facial expression, but with red eyes. She had the eyes of her long lost brother - Uchiha Izura and if someone knew him, he would definitely make the connection.
The girl was little and skinny and the boy should've taken advantage of that. And soon he did - he pushed her and their places changed. The girl didn't had the strength to push him away from her, but clearly she would fight with everything she had and she would definitely win. That's why she used a trick. Strange trick, but it helped.
She spit at the boy's eyes. The boy tried to remove the saliva with his hands and that was the moment the girl took advantage. They changed their places once again and the girl continued with the punches.
It was strange that a small girl like her could beat up a boy at her age, but physically stronger. If people looked closer at the boy's face they could see some traces of sand. Yeah, she used a trick once again - throwing sand at his face, but it worked both times.
Talking about anger, eh?
She was new in the village, but the girl was a ticking bomb. Didn't had any manners and clearly didn't cared to make a good impression. She was full of anger for some reason and you could see that from the way she punched the boy and the mad look on her face. Only the sharp eye could notice that she wasn't looking at the boy, but like... she looked through him. That indicated that she wasn't angry at him, but clearly he made something that unlocked her anger, and to make Ayame mad was the easiest thing ever, at this moment.

Hissori would smile as one of the first people was served. First came over his milk with vodka in the bowl. Then with the tropical beer which he had ordered. Smiling and Thanking the lady, the dog trainer would take the bowl and place it on the ground patting Buru behind his white pointy ears. “There you go Buru don’t try to drink it down all at once.” He said though the dog seemed not to listen as he quickly started to lap down the alcoholic milk.

Hissori on the other hand was taking to his drink much more slowly. Partially enjoying watching the bit of chaos he caused as all the confused looks from the other patrons. It was probably a natural reaction from some who didn’t understand why they were getting free drinks. Hissori though did not understand the glares and nervous looks he was getting from some of the other patrons who probably knew of the attacks.

They would know of how the Cabal had infiltrated the village to try to destroy it from the inside. They probably thought Hissori had done some thing to poison everyone in the place, something the medic was capable of doing, but would never do. He didn’t have the heart for it. Of course, People like Roku didn’t know that.

The pointing and shouting of Roku drew the attention of the Tsuchikage to their table as Hissori lifted his hands in the air in a playfully defensive manner. “Just a friend.” The Strawberry blonde said as he offered a friend grin before pausing a bit.

The dangerous part of introducing himself to new people was that Hissori could be known having been a countries leader. “I am just a travelling medic who just completed a job, I hope I didn’t start something.” Hissori said as he nodded respectfully to the other leader, not knowing who he was.

MTF 300, ummm my bad.

Episode 3: 'Shenanigans?'|Side Story said:
[col]"Mist? Hmmm..."

Honestly, Roku did not really know much about the rest of the village, especially those that were no longer around due to calamity; but he was interested in Mist and it being destroyed by some random freeze. If nothing else, it made it easier to develop a cover story.

I will need to remember mist when I being infiltrating Soons. If it was a huge tragedy, there is probably poorly documented reports about all of it, so to say I was a refugee of a destroyed village... who is going to dispute that within this country.

His attention would return to the foreigner as it seemed he had heard his questioning.

Oops.

Wasn't the politest first impression, but he wasn't really one to care about that sort of thing. The stranger did not seem to mind much either as he explained himself as a traveling medic that had ventured out and completed a job.

So potentially a Mist survivor and a traveling medic, well wonder if he is looking for employment here or if he is just stopping by on his journey.

Having a medic that survived a catastrophe that wiped out a whole village would probably be a very interesting snag for the ANBU Corps. There would be little worry in his survival as a field medic, but for now it would seem Roku was almost getting ahead of himself as he plotted out the future for this random person. That would be when the white-haired man would notice the second strange patron next to the foreign, the dog that Sousuke had described earlier.

"Huh... don't see a lot of people bringing their dogs in here."

His words would be loud enough that it would seem he was talking to either Sousuke or Hissori. With a shrug he would turn to Sousuke, now bringing his voice lower to make the next few words a private chat;

"We should milk that friendly stranger for all the booze we can."

With a wink, the charm of Roku would shine through as he once yet again attempted to play bad influence on the Kazekage. While he waited for a response, patrons within the pub would begin to shift their attention to the outside as a commotion was starting. Roku's gaze would cut across in an attempt to see if he could identify the issue from his table.

"Now what the hell is going on..."

Sousuke placed his hands on his head. Yes. Just abuse and take advatange of the individual who just bought them a round of drinks. Why. Why. Why would you do that? That is not decent at all. "The canine is his familiar. That is why he is allowing it to drink alcohol."<i></i> Sousuke asserted. He did not like where this was going to go. This was not where he wanted this to go. Now Roku was going to be social to this person, which meant Sousuke would have to be social to this person too. Sousuke said nothing as he allowed his head to hit the table. Great. Now the person was going to be joining with them, which meant ... Sousuke could not get what was on his mind out of there.

Hissori would assert that he was 'just a friend'. Maybe later, but not now. Buying one round of drinks ensures friendship for a small amount of time. Sousuke's face which was still on the desk would turn slightly. In a very mechanical way, he would speak: "Friend: a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard, a person who gives assistance; patron; supporter, a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile."<i></i> He blinked as he thought about it for the moment. "Last definition is most applicable for the time being, that is unless a bar fight breaks out here and now."<i></i> Sousuke considered. There was a theory in some of the minds in Sungakure that their Kazekage was a machine of sorts. Enzeru joked about it from time to time. Sousuke would lean backwards and he would allow himself to sit up now. "You may have metaphorically burned a hole in your financial assets."<i></i> He warned the blonde man when he asked if he started something. There was a commotion that then went off. Sousuke would raise from the table. He would attend to that. His metallic arm very visible as he went to go look at what it was.

Two children fighting. Sousuke's eyes would shift to the ceiling. He shook his head. He reached down and picked up Ayame by the collar and would pick up the other boy in his other hand. He would attempt to hold them apart. Sousuke would snort. "Talk. Now. Words not fists."<i></i> He meant it too. Sousuke's dark eyes narrowed. Yes. Children. Difficult tinier little versions of adults. He used to be a child too, but he was not aggressive by any means. "Foul language will not be tolerated either."<i></i>

[Topic Entered by npc Taisen Ai]

Taisen Ai was a shrine priestess to a local temple to Mother Suna. She was heading home after performing her daily duties, when she spots a brawl in the streets ahead of her. Two children were fighting one another and not in a playful way. As fist flew she quicken pace in hopes to stop there quarrel before the fight goes too far. However she was too late and the two children ends up bursting into a bar. “Mother Suna guide us.” She says under here breath as she approaches the doors to the bar.

As she opens the doors to the establishment she sees the Kage of the village attempting to settle the dispute in a peaceful manor. She now had a better view of the two children and she could tell the girl was of the Uchiha bloodline. She was of a proud clan; almost as proud as her own. Ai did not say a word but stood at the doorway staring at the scene before her. She may intervene as a servant of Mother Suna if the need arises.

Ayame didn't know these people. She didn't had any idea that the Kage of the village picked her up to end the fight. And even if she knew - she wouldn't care. She wasn't a "village" person. She was always on the run, never been in one place for a long time with the gang she was part of. These "keeping the village safe; caring for the village" stuff were so distant to her. A home, a family, friends - things that were unknown to the girl. Her entire life she was taking care only for herself, thinking "what is like having these things?".
If thing like that happened between people in the gang, the'd leave the guys to fight 'till death. Normal human interactions were things the girl never experienced. She was like an animal that had to be thought simple human things and how to behave.
All she knew was:
If they are picking on you - they'll make you a fool and others will make a fool out of you too. You had to fight not to be the fool.
If they're stronger than you - hide, study them and strike when least expected.
Survive another day, even if that means that other would suffer.
All or nothing.
I have only me.

Her teacher was the world, not a human being that cared for her well being. Her examples in life were other people's failures. She ended up in Sand not because she had family there, but because she had to steal from a person here. That person tried to change her life and enrolled her to the academy, but the lessons of the past were hard to eradicate and controlling her anger wasn't from the things she could do. People were always enemies, until they prove it wrong.

Ayame screamed to let her go and clenched her teeth. The grip of the guy holding her was too strong for the little girl, and her efforts to escape him so she could attack the boy were in vain.
Maybe it was fun looking how a little girl was trying to do everything she could to escape the grip of the man. Like a little angry animal, who was throwing itself to every direction possible to escape.
"Talk. Now. Words not fists."<i></i>
But the talking was over for her and she could barely even hear the people.
She drew her tanto and throw it right at the boy's head.
All or nothing.

Ai draws her own blade from her side and with an upwards swing of her katana she deflects the tanto. The small sword spins over the girl’s head and if she had the talent she could catch it. Otherwise it would end up embedding itself into the floor. The girl was quite bold to attack someone like that in front of the kage. Ai could not help but see a little bit of Yuki in this girl. She did seem to be around the same age. Despite the disapproval of the girl’s actions she gave the little one a gentle smile. “The fire within you burns wild.” Ai sheaths her blade and looks towards the Kage, “I ask that you show the child the Mother’s mercy.” Ai has seen many troubled souls and she can see that this girl is one of them. Ai does not want to see the girl harmed, when what she needs is the healing of the soul.
