Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

[Enter Sagasu Shinji]

It doesn’t matter who you are, how trained you are, or how much her father might like you; If you get caught in a girls room, you’re going to have a bad time. That was why to first rule to rule-breaking was always 'never get caught'. Tonight was the night that rule put to the test. Sure there was a sense of taboo that came with being naughty in the family compound of a prestigious bloodline but the danger made it fun… and, ya know… dangerous.

Leaning safely outside that back gate of the Uchiha compound, the trespasser was doubled over, his bare chest heaving as he braced his palms against his knees. Damn they could run fast. He could now say first hand that their reputation as an elite house was well earned. His shirt was clutched in one hand while his other ran through his hair, slightly slick from both fear and passion. Yup, so far it had been a good night. Above him he could hear the lesser shinobi of the house being sent out on patrol to catch him. He could hear the yelling and screaming of an upset father and the sobbing and pleading of the daughter he had left in her bedroom. It was probably best he didn’t call on her for a couple of… years.

Dammit Shinji, you have to be more careful than that. Heh, but you have to admit... it WAS fun.

He would curse himself in a whisper as he tugged his shirt on over his head with a grin, mussing his hair up in the process, and then making sure his pants were done up properly. His heart had finally stopped racing and the scent of his hunters had disappeared into the gloomy night of the cavern. A breeze would flow by, confirming his suspicions that he was alone. Nearly 100% certain that no one had actually seen enough of him to identify him as the offender, he takes the opportunity to step out from the shadows as casually as possible. If he could get to the lower levels without incident, he would be home free but for now he was just a guy walking home; nothing to see here.

A good thing about being down wind, was not being noticed easily by anyone, even if they did have a great sense of smell. She was looking to sneak back into the compound after going out for a much needed drink, literally, one drink. She was still rather sober, making sure that her father would not be able to tell that she had been drinking. After all, she had told him that she was going on a walk. When she was a block away from the back entrance, she heard shouting. Something about finding that defiler. As she came close, she could hear the begging pleas of a cousin, begging her father not to kill the boy, they were just "having a little fun."
Ah, that must be Kia or one of her sisters, they always were more promiscuous of my cousins.

Just then she heard a voice and saw a masculine form reintroducing his body to a shirt. She couldn't help but smirk as she silently walked up to the tall form. Without announcing her presence, she spoke, "Any idea what all the hullabaloo is about? You don't often hear an Uchiha shouting, especially the Shibas. Must have been some party."
When first meeting her, most people did not take her as an Uchiha. Her light colored eyes just confused them and took her to be some other clan that stayed around here. Her brother was similar, with his black eyes and blonde hair. She was currently in a form fitting red dress and a black leather jacket, paired with black studded heels. All in all, she looked utterly "fuckable", as more than one man in the past hour had told her.

The hairs on the back of his neck stood at attention as a feminine voice was heard right behind him. Spinning around, hands up and ready to fight, he eyes her up and goes slack-jawed. Wow. Just wow. Not even trying to hided his gaping he looks down the studded V of her jacket to the points of her shoes and back up to her eyes. The unique swirls of silver contrasting with her jet-black hair over-all catered to Shinji’s like for dominant women. Easing up on his stance he would smooth his hand through his hair in an attempt to tame it a little as a charming grin would spread over his lips.

None what so ever. I think someone must have been found with one of the Uchiha maidens. Poor guy.

Side-stepping he would come to stand to the left of the woman, catching her unaltered scent on the breeze as well as a light hint of something stronger. It wasn’t enough for her to be inebriated but it did tell him something about this new woman: She wasn’t opposed to drinking. Keeping himself in check, his eyes would glance down the curve of her neck, wishing he could press his lips to her smooth skin or at the very least run his finger-tip from her ear to her collar-bone. Her piercings would catch what minimal light shone from the streetlamps, adding to the allure of her being a femme fatal type.

You know… with word of an unsavoury sort being about, I wouldn’t want a beautiful woman such as yourself being cornered by him. Could I walk you home? Or take you out for a drink?

The irony of him being the vagabond in question wasn’t lost on him, but it wasn’t as if he were some sort of creeper that just wandered into women’s bedrooms through their open windows. He was enough of a gentleman to meet them, buy drinks or dinner, and then walk them home. If the woman declined his offers he would simply bow and wish them a goodnight. However, if they were so inclined to invite him in or hinted at going ‘somewhere more private’, it was only a gentleman’s duty to oblige. A lady should never be left wanting. Some, such as the Steward who had taken a shine to his sister, might see his rogue nature as disparaging but as long as no harm came from it, what was the trouble in a little fun.

Biting the inside of her lip, she forced herself not to laugh as he span around, almost comically, looking ready to fight. The look on his face as he noticed her outfit and body was quite the expression and she allowed herself a soft chuckle. He confirmed her suspicions that one of her cousins had taken a man to bed, she believed that it was this one, and judging by the fact that he was completely dressed, it was either before or after they had performed coitus. He moved to the side and she followed his movement with the trained eye of a jounin. She followed his eyes as they ran over her neck and had to suppress a shiver. She had discovered ages ago that her neck was an erogenous zone, and just the knowledge that a man liked that part was enough for the first smatterings of arousal. His next words almost had her choking on a laugh. She imagined his face if she said that she was an Uchiha, so she settled for the latter suggestion.

"As much as I should return home, I think I would much rather go for another drink. My father is rather annoying sometimes. I had to escape the house, saying that I was going for a walk. He might get worried but I don't care, I can hold my own. I am a jounin after all." She rolled her eyes before shooting him a soft smile. He wasn't bad looking himself, and she could see why Kia or Kasha would have been intrigued enough to take him for a "test drive" so to speak.
"I do wonder which of the Uchiha girls had the man in her room. I have heard stories about a few of them, a few from the girls themselves. A couple of them can get rather randy after a few drinks. I was at an event once, they got hold of some souchu and ended up flirting with nearly every available, and unavailable, man in the place. It was a sight."
She really wanted to know which girl, and hopefully he couldn't tell that she was also trying to confirm that it was him, not that she cared mind you.

Jounin you say? I’d best be on my utmost behavior, being a lowly chuunin myself. I prefer to take the orders, not give them.

In more than one way. Keeping that thought to himself, he would start to walk along with the woman, hands deep in his pockets as he listened to her talk about the Uchiha girls and their infamous promiscuity. Shame he had been so tragically interrupted but his luck was good enough that he had only gone so far as to be shirtless and kissing her toes. He would chuckle a little as she seemed to pry for information or maybe that was his guilty conscience tricking him. There was no way she knew, right?

That would be quite a sight. I’ve seen them in a bar or two in the Palais. Kasha is… quite the feisty one. I’ve never had the courtesy of getting as near to Kia, though I’ve come close. Don't misunderstand, I am a gentleman but as you've said... they're rather uninhibited.

One hand would rub over his shoulder and across the scar that Kasha had left him during their time together. Perhaps his ways could be seen as a little immoral. It was less than acceptable to sleep with a woman with no intention of courtship, let alone her older sister only a few weeks prior, but what sweet Kia didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her… but if Kasha found out, she might hurt him… again. Eh, it was worth the risk and one could only be so hopeful. Feeling like they were no longer at risk of being followed, he would take the moment to introduce himself.

Where are my manners, I’m Sagasu Shinjin but my friends and family call me Shinji. Who might I have the honor of escorting for a drink tonight?

The road would slope down as they descended from the Upper Levels, passed the turn off to the Sagasu’s street and down toward the hubbub of the nightlife below. To their left would be a pub like establishment where there would be arm-wrestling, darts, and the nightly possibility of a fist-fight while a little way down would be a more colourful establishment where the ceilings were made of glass to reflect the strobe lighting that drew in a more lively crowd. Hanging a step behind, he would see where she would go. Perhaps she would chose neither; There were many options when it came to liquor when the sun went down.

"You know, I was just promoted a few months ago. Something about how they couldn't believe that I hadn't been promoted yet and that it was overdue. I don't know about that necessarily, but the pay raise was nice," she laughed softly. Since her mind was already heading that way, at his last sentence, it delved into the gutter and she had to suppress a smirk. Likes taking orders, eh? That would be interesting.

And he confirmed that the voice she had heard was Kia's, why wasn't she surprised. He further explained that he was a gentleman, possibly trying to make up for the fact that he had admitted to sleeping, or nearly sleeping, with two of her cousins. She noticed his hand maneuver to his shoulder. Perhaps he was thinking of Kasha. She had mentioned that she had marked a conquest. Even then she had flinched internally, knowing just how the girl liked to mark her men. "Kasha leave her mark on you, eh? I've met a few of the guys she had the audacity to do as such. Although, apparently, those she marks are a 'superior fuck'. Her words, not mine. She likes to brag." She wasn't kidding either. Get a few ounces of liquor in Kasha, and ask the right questions, and she will brag about her conquests until you shut her up.

Nari smiled at Shinjin and remained silent for a few moments before giving her name. She saw the pub that she often frequented when she needed to let off some steam. Oh how she loved dressing super feminine and waltzing into the building, sitting down at an arm wrestling booth and stating that she would give a kiss to any man that could beat her. Needless to say, she didn't end up giving very many kisses. She still remembers one night when the Nekozuka heir had been there. Nari had lost by a small margin, the other patrons had gotten a kick out of seeing the two powerful kunoichi kiss. It was only a peck, but it was apparently enough for most of the men to have to disappear for a few moments.

She shook her head with a smile and turned toward Shinji once more. "I like both of the establishments that are nearby, however, I'm in more of a dancing mood than a fighting mood. I will ask that you won't run away when you hear my name. For some reason guys would rather run than go dancing with a clan heir." She paused for a few moments to allow him to answer or just stay put before speaking once more. "My name is Shiba Nari. You are more than welcome to call me Nari, Shinji."

Opening his mouth to say something, he would close it again wordlessly, letting air fill up his cheeks and exhaling slowly. How does one respond when a past lover’s friend gives you such a compliment? Choosing to focus on the first statement instead he let out a chuckle that turned into a nodding admission. It probably wasn't in his best interest to be so candid about such things but he knew that the slight blush on his cheeks was enough to give him away even if he hadn’t said anything.

He was curious why she would ask him not to run away at the mention of her name but his interest would soon be satisfied. Stopping dead in his tracks, his eyes would go wide. It made sense now that she was right outside the compound; it was where she lived. Palm nervously rubbing the back of his neck, he would groan with the realization of what they had just discussed. He had just admitted to being interested in her cousins, practically given details, and if Kasha bragged as much as was claimed, then she would already know about some of his more… interesting quirks.

No. I wouldn’t run because you’re an heiress… but do I feel like a bit of an idiot. It’s bad manners to talk about previous encounters; it’s even worse when you just realize that you’ve been discussing it with their cousin. At any rate, I am very pleased to make your acquaintance, Shiba Nari of the Uchiha clan.

Taking hold of her hand he would give a low bow and bring her fingers to meet his lips. Behind him he’d hear the familiar laughter of a regular drunk that frequented the pub followed by his unsolicited opinion of Nari.

You’re not going to get anywhere with her, Shinji. She prefers ladies. Only person I’ve ever seen beat her in arm wrestling. Probably on purpose too.

Then I guess she and I have something in common already.

He called the retort over his shoulder and brushed off the comments by pointedly directing them towards the dance club and away from the antagonizing drunk. He would shake his head and chuckle. Perhaps it was a good thing they weren’t going to that place tonight. Reaching the sparkling entrance, he would pay their cover to get them inside and weave their way to bar for a drink. Like most guys, he wasn’t much of a dancer, preferring instead to watch. Get a few drinks into him though, and he would be more that willing to step onto the floor. Looking up from gathering glasses, the bar tender would catch sight of Nari and rush right over. His black vest was buttoned over a white t-shirt and dark blue jeans, finished off by polished dress shoes that would only be seen when he turned around to get their drinks. They made a point of keeping their staff inconspicuous so that the attention would be rightfully kept on their patrons.

What can I get you, Miss?

When all Shinji did was pause momentarily and gape rather spectacularly, Nari couldn't help but smile. Her smile grew even wider when he apparently thought back to the past few moments of their conversation. For all of Kasha's bragging, she did still keep certain things close to her chest. She never told names or specifics of what they did, just a general description and if she liked their actions or not. And, only if asked, would she point out some of the more promising ones. She had gushed over a guy that matched Shinji's description, but had been rather hush about the details, unable to say much more that he was amazing.

"Eh, don't worry about it. She might brag, but she never gives out specifics. If I recall, every time she tried to describe what happened, she couldn't find words. Hopefully that makes you feel a little better. I have found that discussing intimate encounters can be somewhat fun at times. I'm not like my younger brother. He actually wants to be the clan head. He is very tradition based, straight-laced, all of those euphemisms. Not to say that I am not traditional, but I understand having fun, and living while you can."

She allowed him to take her hand and couldn't help the smile that graced her countenance. That is, until the drunk had to say something. Even after Shinji's comment, she felt a small need to rectify the situation.

Her tone was blatantly teasing as she said, "Now now, Torin. Just because you couldn't beat me doesn't mean I let the young Nekozuka heir beat me. That young lady can lift her tigers like it is nothing. I did not let her win. As for the preferring women thing," she smirked and let her eyes rake Shinji's form pointedly. "Though the fairer sex are lovely, I much prefer the company of a man." That was certainly the truth.

The drunk's face was priceless as he watched them disappear to the club. Shinji paid for their entrance and directed them to the bar. The keep immediately looked her way and she almost sighed in frustration. Nari turned to Shinji for a second. "I'll choose the first round, you can pick the second, okay? We'll take a Kamikaze." She quickly found two seats, ones that were rather close together, and pulled Shinji with her into them. She took the opportunity to huff softly before turning back to Shinji with a smile.

"Hope that you don't mind if I stick kind of close to you tonight. I do like this place, but I certainly don't feel like getting hit on excessively." She made a face while looking at the barkeep's form as he mixed their drinks.

(((I figured it would be fun to find the names of actual cocktails, so: List of said mixed drinks.)))

It was hard to argue with sound logic and the words he might have used were quickly lost as she turned to find them a place to sit. He followed her through the crowd, keeping just enough distance to afford a decent view without leaving the impression that they weren't together. Not that they were, he just wasn't interested in a fight to keep her to himself tonight. She was being amiable and he hated to admit it but it was a relief to be talking to a woman who had a brain rattling between her ears and wasn't related to him. Taking a seat next to her, he would risk draping his arm across her shoulders and pull her close in response to her assertion. It wasn't a possessive act, rather a reassuring gesture that he didn't mind playing the part. In fact it would seem that while he was noticeably strong, none of his actions would be overly dominant. Their drinks would appear in front of them as a server in a black off-the-shoulder mini dress placed them down and left without a word. He would look down at the drink for a moment, biting his lip to keep from smirking. He was more of a rum and cola sort of guy occasionally changing the type of soda or liquor but he had never had a cocktail and was a little afraid that he would break the glass. Leaning forward, he would pick up both drinks, surprised by how sturdy the stems were, and place one in Nari's waiting hand, raising his in a toasting gesture before taking a sip. Remarkably, it wasn't half bad. He would enjoy a few more tastes before gathering his thoughts and the courage to lean his face towards her ear and strike up a conversation. He tried to tell himself that it was so she could hear him over the loud trance-beat that pulsed on the air but he knew the real reason was so that he could savour her scent and let his breath caress her neck as he spoke.

Well then, Nari-san... Seems you know more of me than I do of you. Tell me, what do you do when you're not out for a late night walk to avoid your father? And do you always stroll in such eye catching clothing?

He was careful to keep his eyes from looking down, choosing to steal his glances rather than ogle like some of the men had since they'd walked in. Every few minutes he would let his eyes wander the establishment, a natural habit of any shinobi, occasionally taking note of who was looking their way. He had noticed plenty of other 'treats' that could sate his appetite but he wasn't there for them tonight. Normally he would be planning his next target in the event that he struck out but tonight he had no such desire. He knew the type that frequented the night scene well enough to know that none of them could hold his focus as much as the strong lady beside him. It also occurred to him that since Nari was of the Uchiha clan she would be naturally observant and a flick of his gaze at another female could be all it took to for lose her interest in him. As she spoke, he would nurse the drink, unwilling to admit that he was enjoying what he usually considered a 'girly' drink. Their glasses drained, he would flag down the server to bring them two new drinks, this time a Katinka to carry on with the vodka and lime taste that they had already started with.

She could feel him studying her body, but she couldn't seem to care. It was nice to talk and relax, and knowing ahead of time that Shinji was a lady's man somehow made her more comfortable. There were a few times in the past when she had been used as a break up tool. When that happened, she readily joined the jilted ex in retaliation. Hell hath no fury over a woman scorned was certainly the motto in those situations, put two together, and things could be rather detrimental to someone's health. Nari was broken out of her thoughts when Shinji put his arm around her, reassuring her that he didn't mind going along with her. She found herself relaxing more especially when she felt his soft strength. She could see this one standing tall and fighting hard for the girl he finally settled down with, whenever he decided to do so. It also comforted her that he wasn't trying to show complete dominance, just enough to remind her, and those around them, that he was a man who could take charge.

When the drinks arrived, she accepted her drink with a gracious smile. She liked harder drinks, but sometimes trying different flavors was fun and it helped to not get hammered as quickly. She would silently take a sip of one of her favorite cocktails. Her second favorite was the black cat, a mix of cherry, cranberry, and vodka. She noticed his face fall quickly into a "not bad" expression before he seemed to be contemplating something. That something was apparently gathering some courage to lean closer to her. Which completed two things, one that made Nari's heart softly flutter. Conversing would be much easier with him closer, but his breath over her neck raised goosebumps and caused her to shiver slightly.

She smiled softly as she sipped her drink. "Eh, knock off the 'san', alright? I wouldn't mind the additional respect if I was in uniform or on duty, but I'm not, so please just call me Nari." She finished off her kamikaze and continued. "I work with the interrogation team, but off hours I just try to enjoy myself. I train a couple of hours every day, I go dancing. My father tries to teach me more about running a clan, and then I go out. I like trolling bars sometimes. Every now and again I pick someone up and either follow them home or take them home, though I have not done that in quite some time. Last person I followed home ended up in the hospital. He apparently took me home as a way to break up with his girlfriend. She and I ended up putting him through his paces. Not a good idea to jilt two jounins. She just happened to be a coworker in the interrogation team."

Nari watched him the entire time she spoke, noticing that while he would glance at her form, he was not staring like some of the other men in the bar. When his eyes traveled the bar, hers did as well, making sure everything was still safe, ah the slight paranoia of the vetted shinobi. She did notice more than a few guys staring quite plainly her way and couldn't help but roll her eyes. However, she wasn't really frustrated with it as they were all looking at Shinji as well and looked to be thinking something along the lines of "that lucky bastard". If you believed all the tales centered around this fine man before her, then he would usually be scouting on the off chance he didn't hit it off. She took a certain amount of pleasure in the fact that he was trying his utmost to not eye up the other women. She herself glanced around at the other women and didn't like what she saw. Most of them were not what you would call- well- kosher.

She was rather interested to find that Shinji ordered another vodka-lime drink. While the server was there, she ordered their next round to be served in a few minutes, an Autumn Wind.

"So besides trolling bars and other establishments, and sneaking out of compounds, what is it that you like to do?"

[MFT; WC: 722]
(((holy long post, batman)))

The word interrogation rang in his ears. He knew the ranks of the village and what positions each branch held, aside from the few classified ANBU that ‘don’t exist’. As members of the ANBU branch, he could only imagine what sort of damage two upset jounin’s could do if they found out they had been pitted against one another. Women were bad enough when you crossed them but kunoichi would be outright ruthless. An uncontrolled shiver would creep down his spine but his composure would return shortly after. With a chuckle, he would scratch the back of his head, considering taking up his drink but deciding against it. It would look like he was stalling.

I spend most of my day doing missions or training. I have no clan to speak of. The Inuzuka reject my existence and refuse to let me step foot inside the compound. They recognize my sister but deny me because I was never graced with the birthmark or a ninken. It’s sweet that she chose me over them but I’m sure it causes her all sorts of troubles when she has to visit.

In my defense, I usually don’t have to sneak out. What would make you think that I do?

He would take a pause to enjoy his drink, chuckling a little at the memory of Yume when she was 14 telling their Aunt to get eaten by a sand worm for suggesting she should abandon Shinji. Their father had taught them that family was more than blood; it was about who you loved. Needless to say since their father was an immigrant to the village, citing his beliefs would get them no where with the clan. It turned ugly pretty quick and both women became feral before their Aunt knocked Yume out and told them that they were not welcome. Occasionally she would summon her niece but the letter would never mention any thing of her nephew.

Their third drink would come as Shinji was draining the last of his Katinka. Swapping glasses, he would have a taste. He was discovering why most women drank cocktails instead of shots. The pungent cinnamon would wash the lime away as the burn of whisky would slip down his throat. Taking up Nari’s fingers between his, he would give her a mischievous grin as he brought her knuckles to his lips, exhaling slowly as he kissed them.

'San' is unacceptable? Then what about 'Mistress'? A strong woman deserves respect no matter where she is. Respect isn’t fear. Respect is born from desire. However, if neither is acceptable then Nari it is.

He would maintain eye contact as he pulls his face back enough for her to catch what he’s saying before placing one more kiss and letting go. The moment would break as he took up his drink again and sipped while watching her reaction.

Nari couldn't help the small smirk that graced her face when she noticed the shiver that crawled up and down Shinji's spine. She could figure what it is that caused the shudder. More than likely the thought of the man that had crossed her and a sister-in-arms. When he mentioned that he didn't do much besides missions and training, she was reminded of her younger brother, that's all he seemed to to most days. Her thoughts immediately shifted at hearing that his clan rejected him for such a small reason. A suppressed growl just eeked out of her throat before she tossed back the rest of her drink and waited for the whiskey drink.

"That is a piss poor reason to exclude someone from the clan. Even the main branch of the Uchiha understand that a trait can skip a generation, or even mutate with time. Take these things for example." She paused and caught Shinji's eye, activating her purple sharingan. She left them on for a moment before closing her eyes for a moment, allowing them to fade back to silver. "While they may not be the original red, the elders understand that different coloration are not a bad thing. It does not change whether a person is weak or strong. Nor does it signify that we are in any way inferior to those Uchiha with red sharingans."

Her next drink arrived just when needed. She took a long draw from her glass before setting it down carefully. She had already broken one glass tonight and did not want to break another one. "I wouldn't say that you would have to sneak out as a rule. I was more teasing you that you had to this time."

When Shinji took Nari's hand and kissed it, she could feel his breath and her cheeks flushed softly. He really was quite the charmer. His words brought forth a small smile. He released her hand and seemed to back off a bit, waiting for her answer. She took a small sip of her drink, almost choking on it once she remembered his second sentence, making sure that her words would come out properly. "It is not that it is unacceptable, I just do not feel that any added formality is needed, Shinji." Nari paused for a moment, before leaning in to murmur in his ear. "And I swear if you even tease about calling me Mistress again, I will drag you out of that chair and give you a reason to call me Mistress."

When she pulled back, Shinji would be able to see a playful smile. It seemed that she was rather bent on teasing him.

The chuunin was careful to keep his expression as consistent as possible, in this case that meant a cheeky grin paired with an amused smile. Her interrogation skills were hard at work and while circumstance and probability indicated that he was the vagabond who was on the lam, he wasn’t about to actually confess to having fled Kia’s room. Playing along with the assumption that he was innocent he would give Nari a mischievous grin, letting her know before he said anything that he would be twisting her words around a little.

That’s presumptuous, thinking that I will have to sneak out of your room if I follow you home. I’d say your compound is busy enough looking for who ever has upset Miss Kia that they would be hardly checking the chambers of the heiress. Besides, my place is always free.

His grin would only get wider as she became flustered and lost her composure for a split second by choking on her drink. His eyebrow would arch up under his bangs as his green eyes watched her stammer out an explanation, adding to the spice of the moment by whispering an addendum into his ear. Taking advantage of her proximity, he would sweep her up in his arms, keeping her in front of him as he took steps towards the dance floor.

Well then MmmmM’lady. Not if I drag you out of that chair first. Make me jealous that you’re not mine or make me glad that I came with you tonight, I don’t care which. You said you felt like dancing, so let’s dance.

His lips held onto the ‘M’ and threatened to test her ominous warning, rolling into another honorific entirely. He made sure to keep his mouth a hairs breadth from her ear as he guided them away from the safety of their seats and into the tangle of people dancing in the strobe lighting. With each step Shinji would sway to the music, making sure he didn’t grind against her shapely rear in an uncivilized manner. In the short time since making her acquaintance he had already learned that Nari wasn’t like other girls. Even if she was stalking a willing prey, she wouldn’t go for too easy of a kill. Treating her like an object of his pleasure also wouldn’t get him any where. It was a game of cat and mouse that Shinji relished the opportunity to play. If nothing came of tonight, well… then that would simply mean that the game wasn’t over.

She couldn't help it. When he twisted her words, she couldn't help but laugh. A small drop of drink spilled out of her glass onto her fingers, which she then licked off gently. "Quite true, though Kia herself has hidden in my room a few times."

Nari had hardly set her glass down before Shinji swept her up in his arms. A small squeak, followed by a look that read "what the hell?", could be heard. She certainly hadn't been expecting him to lift her out of her seat in answer to her "threat". His extension of the M in m'lady made her lips twitch into a small smirk. She could handle m'lady, it was cute and, in combination with the strength she could feel while in his arms, a bit arousing. It revealed that he was okay with handing over the reigns, one thing that she enjoyed herself, trading off.

He pulled her to the floor, never stood too far away as they made their way through the other writhing bodies. She could feel his body shifting, just brushing up against her. He truly knew her game already. More than a few times, guys had taken her dancing and immediately would grope her on the dance floor. Every time that happened, well, she would leave. She did not like being treated like a piece of meat, part of being not just an heiress, but a kunoichi as well. Once there were well ensconced in the crowd, she let the music take over.

Her hips swayed with the beat and she would press her body against his at random times, enough for a taste, a tease. In the middle of bodies, the air was warmer, making her leather jacket start to stick to her skin. Turning to face Shinji, the jacket came off and ended up stowed in a small scroll she always had on her. The scroll slid into a pocket and she went back to dancing. She knew that her tattoos were showing, and that made her happy. She hated having to hide them at home.

Nari was truly enjoying herself. For all his womanizer charm, she felt rather safe with this man before her. His green eyes were quite the sight and added to his looks perfectly. She might be onyx and mercury, but he was earth and emeralds. A few times, the undulating crowd would enclose upon her back and she would automatically draw nearer to Shinji. Her dancing was not improper, but an observer or dance partner would be able to read the softly sensual undertones.

He kept his hands at barely a hover as they danced and twisted the music, enjoying the emotions the beat could elicit. The longer they danced, the more Shinji could feel his willpower weakening; taunted by her soft flesh each time she would grace him with a touch. Her jacket would soon disappear, revealing tattoos that he couldn’t help but run his fingers over gently, making sure that he didn’t brush too close to her chest. That could come later, if he was lucky.

Each pulse of the crowd would draw them together and pry them apart like ebb and flow of the ocean’s waves. At one such draw, he would wrap one arm around her back and brush the other finger down her cheek, along her jaw to her chin, lifting up slightly. It would be so easy to steal a kiss right there but he had always been told that kisses had to be given, not stolen. He would flash her one of his disarming smiles and simply rest his forehead to hers, changing pace as the tempo would slow.

Your eyes are amazing. You probably hear that a lot but they’re stunning… and don’t take this the wrong way, but you smell fantastic as well. I guess I got more of the Inuzuka heritage than they care to admit.

He would let out a soft growl as he placed his cheek to hers and began a slow circular dance around the floor. With the break in the raucous music, the crowed had thinned to get drinks and it appeared that only couples remained. As they spun around, a group of men around the same age as them caught his eye. Two of them were mumbling to each other, quiet enough so that his sensitive ears couldn't pick up on it through the din of the crowd. The way they looked at Nari and then him as if deciding how to best get them apart was unsettling to say the least. He knew that he had the best woman in the establishment, and with that came certain risks he was hoping to avoid. Reaching the edge of the floor, Shinji would feel someone bump rudely against them, knocking Nari out of his arms as the stranger stepped between them with a leering smile.

Excuse me, I didn't see you there... Hey there, toots. What you doing with a loser like him?

With a sinister chuckle, he would glare at Shinji for a second before turning to Nari and reaching out with roaming fingers. As he was about to fake a stumble into her with palms outstretched, Shinji would grab his shoulder and spin him around, bringing the intruder nose to nose. The repulsive mix of sweat and stale liquor filled his nostrils and made his lip curl involuntarily as he snarled at the man. His off hand hand snatched up a fist full of the drunk's shirt to keep him from attempting to go for a second pass at his impromptu date. As he starred down the grease ball, there would be a flash of lightning in his emerald irises that warned the man to back down.

It's impolite to question a lady on her tastes... It's even more impolite to lay a finger on a woman who might not wish to be touched. Now piss off.

Taking a half step, he would turn so that he would be between Nari and the man as he shoved him backwards into the crowd. He knew full well that he had no claim on Nari other than what she allowed but he was raised to treat women with respect. As he had grown older that rule had the addendum of "as long as they have self-respect." He never mistreated a woman, but he had been known to take advantage of those who were less than particular of their bed-mates. During the evening, Nari had proven that she was a strong woman with plenty of self-respect, and so he believed that she should be treated as such.

If the young Uchiha heir had been someone else, she might just be purring right about now. She couldn't believe just how comfortable she was with a man that more than likely was a bit of a womanizer. Just from her studying him, she knew that he wouldn't try anything stupid with a strong, self-respecting woman. There were times, especially after a strenuous mission, that Nari would do something similar, picking up a fairly respectable guy who she could ply with her feminine wiles and just have a roll in the hay. This was not one of those times, though she found herself debating on whether to take him up on the whole following him home suggestion.

When he brought his face very close to hers and lay his forehead on hers, she found herself mildly disappointed that he had not at least kissed her, though she also was starting to realize that the additional alcohol was starting to catch up on her. When he complimented her eyes, she matched his smile with one of her own, it only grew wider when he mentioned that she smelled good. He shifted positions as the music slowed, and she couldn't help the full body shiver when he growled.

"While I do get complements on my eyes, some mistake me as blind from a distance. I do not want to recall just how many times I have had someone try to rescue me from bumping into something only to realize that I can see just fine." A moment's pause and she brought her body closer to his. "As for saying that I smell fantastic, I will say thank you very much. Perhaps I could remark on your own, but I do not have as keen a sense of smell." She gave him a playful smirk. As they turned gently she also caught sight of the group of men and couldn't help but mentally groan. She just hoped that they were not going to be stupid tonight. Boy was she proven wrong.

Nari felt herself jostled from Shinji's arms and had to suppress a growl of frustration. Couldn't they see that she came with him and planned on leaving with him one way or another? And then the imbecile had to go and call her toots, and Shinji a loser. Purple swirls started to invade her eyes, and she almost missed the guy faking a stumble. She had moved a slight amount out of the path, but her companion had taken care of the rest. Lucky for the bastard he hadn't touched her, or he might have had a broken wriat or two.

As the man fell back toward the crowd, Nari could almost feel herself purring. Ugh, she had been spending much too much time with the Nekozuka heir. Just to make it clear to everyone that she was taken, she stood closer to Shinji and basically hugged him, ducking under his arm so that it hug over her shoulders.

It was an effort to keep his concentration on the task at hand as the way that Nari was cuddling up against him was playing hell on his emotions. Shoving the urge to react to her out of his mind, he keeps his stare fixated on their opponent as his arm pulls her against him. He could spend time figuring out the connotations during his next training session when he was left alone with his thoughts, for now it was simply to show the room that their only interest that night was each other. Apparently that wasn’t going to deter the intoxicated man as he used the crowd to bounce off of and came at the couple again. With opened palm he would slap the attacks away, ensuring to keep his body between Nari and their attacker.

Look it, man. The lady has made her choice and if I were you, I’d take a hint. You’re having issues landing a hit on me… she’d mess you right up if you tried to fight her. Well… okay then.

After Shinji had said his piece, he slapped a few more swings away before grabbing the man’s wrist with one hand, letting go and reversing the direction so that as the man stumbled forward he would connect with the back of his fist. The drunk crumpled instantly to the floor. Shinji would flex his fingers and shake out his fist as he looked down at the man to make sure that he was still breathing. The moment his fist had made contact the music skipped a beat or two as the DJ eyed the situation with disbelief. Suna may have been a village of shinobi but fighting was still an unusual event for a dance club. Seconds later the man’s cronies had rushed forward and picked him up off the floor as the music started back up. Draping his arm over Nari, he would pull her close as he guided them away from the incident and towards the bar.

Thanks for letting me look like the tough guy. I know full well that you could have had him eating his own teeth before he could blink. And to think, I was actually hoping for a quiet night. Can’t say I’m upset with the result of the commotion though.

Bésame, please.

Leaning against the counter top he held up two fingers as he ordered their next round of drinks to put their night back onto a better track and help distance them from the ordeal. In moments the blonde bartender would have two tall glasses, garnished with strawberries sliding towards them. He would toss a wink at Nari and a word or two toward Shinji before moving onto the other patrons.

You’re a lucky one, mate.

Oh I know. I’ve never had to fight so hard for a woman in my life.

Raising his glass up as if to say ‘cheers’, he took a sip or two of the pink liquid and then held the drink around chest height as alternated between letting his gaze wander the ANBUs features and looking down into his glass in contemplation. Taking one more sip for courage, he flashed a playful smile that warned of the potential dorkyness of his next statement and opened his mouth before he thought better of the remark.

Do you know what Bésame means?

When the idiotic man did not cease his attempts, Nari stepped out from under Shinji's arm so that he could deal with the man. While she usually would take care of it herself, it felt good to have someone stand up for her for once. A moment later, her companion was back and had his arm back over her shoulders. They walked back toward the bar, a small smile gracing her face. She was really starting to like this one, this young man called Shinji.

She smiled even more at his words, leaning further into him. "While it was not what could have been hoped for, it was better than I could have imagined. I quite enjoyed letting you take control." She moved her arm and trailed a hand down his chest gently. She heard him order a cocktail and flushed minutely. She knew what it meant. She was sufficiently distracted that she did not comprehend Shinji's reply to the bartender's statement for a moment. After a few seconds, she understood, and smiled once more.

Nari returned his toasting movement and tasted the drink. The flavors of lime, passion fruit, and raspberries played delightfully over her tongue. She noticed his traveling gaze, before he took another sip and flashing her a smile, which she immediately returned. She asked him if she knew what the drink's name meant and her smile turned into a small smirk. Instead of answering him verbally, she took a small sip of her drink before setting it down and moving to stand very close.

She slowly reached up and cupped his chin, her thumb gently stroking his cheek once as she leaned ever closer. She knew that he could have kissed her earlier, but had restrained himself. She would not. Nari tilted her head a bit, looking into his eyes once more for confirmation before leaning in to press her lips to his in a chaste kiss. After a few moments, she pulled back and looked up at him, her lower lip sliding in between her teeth for a moment, contemplating the kiss, and hoping that he would return it in like kind.

He was left breathless by her answer, holding his lungful for a second before slowly exhaling as his eyes fluttered open. His face clearly told her that the kiss had taken him by surprise even though he had seen it coming. He’d been subject to the whims of crass women having their way with him, consensually molested in dark alleyways, and culled in tethers at their feet. None of these previous events had driven him as crazy as the innocent kiss that Nari had just shared with him. He swallowed hard against the lump in his throat that formed at the sight of her teeth around her lower lip, nonchalantly placing his hand to the bar to keep him upright as his head swooned a little. Pins and needles could be felt all over his body as sensation returned, causing even the slightest touch of her fingers to make his skin tingle. His tongue licked over his lips to taste the remnants of the kiss as her met his sliver eyes with his. Only a second would lapse before he would take the queue and wrap one arm around her waist, pulling her tight to his body as his other hand rested with his thumb in front her ear while his fingers curled over the back of his neck, pressing their lips together.

This was no where near as virginal as their first. While keeping in mind that they were in a public place, Shinji poured every ounce of hunger he possessed into that kiss. Sharing a secret with her mouth in a wordless exchange of what he wanted to do to her, how he wanted to hear her primal noises play a symphony to his ears, and keep her warm when they were done. His muscles twitched and flexed as his did his damnedest to keep from giving way to his desires and pulling her into the backroom; his body aching to feel her as his mind restrained his actions and reminded him that she had proven to be more than a conquest. It would be his privilege to be at her feet. Breaking the kiss, he would keep their bodies close as he looked down into her eyes; his pupils dilated as he drew in a long breath through his nose, delighting in her scent as it accentuated his pain. Masochism did come with a cost of denial on occasion.

We should get going… The offer still stands to accompany me home, or I will walk you back to the compound.

His words would be just loud enough for her to hear as he held her a moment longer before finishing his drink and anteing up enough for both of them and casually walking to the door. Once outside he would lean against the wall of the establishment, propping one leg against the building and looking up with his hands jammed into his pockets. What was it about her that was making his head so fuzzy? What was so hard about bringing her home or sneaking back into the compound for a quick fuck and then going on his way? There was something about the hunt that had awoken a deeper desire than lust. There was a part of him that didn’t want her to get away after tonight and it was that part of him that would rather deny himself ever having her than hold her for one night and never again. He looked up at the artificial star-scape that spanned the cavern as he contemplated these things, allowing his heart rate to die back down while he waited for her answer.

She saw his surprise as well as his want. He had to use a hand to keep himself completely upright, and she was worried for a moment. Nari noted that her hand was still on his cheek and slid it down to his neck, her thumb now resting on his jaw. In less than a moment, he pulled her closer and kissed her with gusto. The hunger in his movements made her knees go weak. She couldn't remember a time when she had been so over come by a kiss. She had to thread her hands into his hair for some support as she returned his kiss with answering heat. She softly moaned at both the kiss and the sensation of his hand on the back of her neck. When he broke their kiss, she whimpered slightly.

When he spoke, she took the opportunity to clear her head a bit by finishing off her own drink. She thought on his offer as he paid. Nari followed him, a couple feet behind him. She watched for a moment as he leaned up against a wall, one leg propped up. He seemed confused about something. She silently leaned against the wall beside him, mostly matching his stance, her leg lower than his so that her dress wouldn't ride up. She thought about what was going on in her head. When the night had started, she hadn't thought of Shinji as more than a drinking buddy or a possible fling, but now? Now she couldn't see him as someone to just have a one-off. For some reason, she wanted to pursue him. A small part wanted to help him tame himself, and if he stayed with her, then all the better.

The men at the compound probably hadn't gotten a good look at Shinji's face, and Kia would more than certainly keep her mouth shut. If she took him back to the compound, no one would be able to say anything to her. If she followed him home, her father would probably be angry, but she didn't really care. She reached over and looped her arm in his, trying to pry his hand out of his pocket. If she let him, she would thread her fingers in his. "Shinji, I think I would like to accompany you. I make no promises on how far we go." She let the sentence hang, hoping against hope that he might understand that she would like to see where they could go, as more than a fling or one-off.
