Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

High Ho! High Ho! Off to work we go! Well, this might could have been sung if the movie and book were ever created. Instead, people were starting to file into the construction site. After the problems with the last mission in the area, everything seemed to be going smoothly. All the building had been torn down, and the ground leveled. Now, months into the beginning of the construction, people had developed a routine. All of the foundation had been laid out, and the metal skeleton of the brand new hospital.

Today, two shinobi were going to be overseeing the work. Briefed with the fact that they were to watch the people working on building the new hospital, and then to make sure nothing bad happened during to the hospital. While, it seemed that the hospital was going over a success many of the seedier people within the gangs of Inner Marushi were not happy with the village’s most depressed area being saved.

Looking over the group of construction workers, the two shinobi already were working. As everyone signed in the pair were checking off the people that were supposed to be here. Many people were staring though at the pair because it seemed like it was take your child to work day, Sabaku, and Kamaru were the duo on duty today. Let’s see what they could do.

Today Sabaku had awoke extra early that day to make sure that he had everything ready, for today decided a lot of things in his life. For this was his first C rank mission. Sabaku had to make sure that he made a good impression so that the elders would see that he was a great ninja that could be dependable and worthy of more risky missions in the future.

I"M OFF NOW!!! Sabaku yelled to his parents as he left the house, also being an hour early to make sure he looked prompt to his peers that he would be working with.

He heard that he would be working with a higher up, which he thought would be exciting to get to be around someone other than a student...almost made him feel a little older.

Sabaku arrived at the construction site and checked in at the office so that they knew he had arrived....it was about 30 minutes before anyone else had shown up to work.
He wanted to see everyone that came in so he could get a head start on learning the faces that he would be overseeing today.
As he waited he thought about what he might say to the workers...something inspirational would be nice, you cant work hard without being happy about it.

Just as he was finishing that thought a stranger approached from the distance. Perhaps it was a worker arriving early to work.
As the figure got closer is didn't really look like a worker, it was a slim man with black hair. Upon closer inspecting Sabaku could see blue eyes peering from behind the man's hair.

Once the man had reached Sabaku, he would speak to the man.

Hi there! I'm Sabaku, Are you a worker he--... He would begin to say before noticing something very interesting.

A-are you....no...oh my gosh you are!!! Sabaku exclaimed.

You're one of the sennin for the village aren't you?! He would ask, already knowing the answer.

Kami... umm... Karmu.... NO, Kamaru I think...Yea that's it. He said excitedly.

Sabaku didn't really know what to say after that...I mean he was in the presence of one the most influential people in the village....only second to the tsuchikage.

Sabaku would remain silent for a bit, very unknowing of what he should say to someone of his status....

I...uh....So what's it like being a sennin? Sabaku would ask, knowing that was a dumb question to ask to someone so important.

(OoC: I’ll place the mission after being established as the Sennin since it’s in the mission now as me already being in the position officially in my timeline)

Kamaru focused on the mission having taken something that looked relatively easy but complex if worded correctly in the records. Overseeing construction would sound misleading since in truth they were more in an escort oversight role not foreman or architects with civil engineering backgrounds. They were the first line of defense against intelligence gathering in the roll of counter intelligence. While some would be thankful for modern medicine in the village others might deem it in a gray area versus traditional or religious beliefs. From the in brief and rumors it seemed some people just thought it was downright rude to take one of the rougher areas of town and remodel it even putting a nice medical center for those with ailments. The mission had three primary objectives for Kamaru to keep in mind.

Showing up in a white dress shirt and a set of black slacks, matching dress shoes, suspenders, tie and suspenders to match he might look like an officer worker on the site as he walked on rolling up his sleeves, he’d meet his younger partner and get right to it signing people in.

He knew he’d be working with someone else but how young. He sighed inwardly opting to just suck it up. He didn’t have any right to complain since work was work and it just reminded him to check on the other transplants. His first mission in the village was still a mission, if he had to mentor someone on the job he would for the safety of the workers and his younger partner on the mission.

He didn’t have people’s faces and names memorized but he seemed pretty young and slightly nervous.

”Good Morning, Yes I guess I am a Sennin of the village and my name is Kamaru. I haven’t really commited everyone’s face and name I’ll be dealing with to memory but first thing’s first let’s get these people squared away so they can work first. We’ll have time to talk later while overseeing things.” Kamaru explained.

Reviewing paperwork and checking people in led to the boy asking about what it was like to be a Sennin. ”I guess it feels like being a ninja if you had to also think about a lot more of the reasons behind the missions then just doing them, more thinking about people’s wellbeing working with you or under you and those working with those people, skillsets for jobs and new training when needed, things that need improving and giving out praise and kudos occasionally to let people know you see them and are grateful for the work they do under your watch for the village and country…It’s not harder it’s just a different mindset I think. Doing a job to the best of your abilities and leaving the mission behind is one thing. Looking at the after affects of every mission to put something or a place in a better state then you originally found it I guess is also something new to me.” Kamaru finally explained between reviews looking around.

”So when you’re not out doing missions like this watching over workers what are you up to in the village?” Kamaru shot back. The boy would probably be able to tell Kamaru was still pretty down to earth and didn’t put on airs of someone in a high position. He didn’t know if that might burst the boy’s bubble of perception of what he thought Kamaru was but he asked him a straight question so he figured it deserved a straight answer.

Sabaku had never thought about missions that way, to be more precise he never thought that they could be. He thought that it was just a do and do it well system and to never question the mission at hand. Either way Kamaru's words struck Sabaku at his inner core, Words that will never be forgotten and will most likely be used in his future as a ninja of Iwa.

Hearing his question struck another mind blowing shot to his head, Sabaku had thought that someone of his status should be focused and serious 100% of the time, But this guy was as down to earth as you could get for a ninja. Still surprised by his "normal" question he remained silent for a moment trying to reacquire his train of thought.

Well, I don't particularly enjoy the training grounds, as it's usually crowded, so I go on long runs to keep in shape... Pausing a brief moment before continuing.

I'm currently enrolled at the academy so I'm usually studying, with the exception of today ha ha. He laughed nervously.

Also I really like this girl named Chi, Her hair is so pretty and her eyes even more so. She even smells like cherrys! Sabaku exclaimed, almost to the point of a ten year olds rambling.

Realizing that he might now be leading the conversation somewhere that Kamaru wouldn't really be interested in, Sabaku tapered off the subject trying to find a new one.

Well.... It sure is a nice day, glad to see that this mission hasn't had any hiccups so far. He remarked... now thinking maybe he should knock on wood.

The sun was shining and there was little wind, twas a beautiful day to be outside enjoying the weather and fresh air, all the while getting to do a mission side by side one of the Sennin of Iwa.

Kamaru seemed to be put with an academy student which made him wonder if it was an easy mission or if they just needed someone to supervise the boy during his mission since he wasn’t in school. Left to his own design in the silence the boy started to ramble a bit about a girl at school he liked then that he was thankful that it looked like it was going to turn out to be a nice day and that the mission would go slowly.

”You don’t always have access to an area to train once you’ve graduated and especially not out in the field. I’d keep that in mind for your training regime. For the most part I usually get the best ideas for what I need to train right after missions.” Kamaru explained.

The boy seemed nervous about doing small talk, either he was too focused on what he was saying and couldn’t process it or he just wasn’t good at talking to strangers yet. Kamaru continued to work checking faces to IDs occasionally staring at an ID and the person for a bit longer if they didn’t seem quite right. He realized that it probably made some of the workers nervous but it was all part of the job.

”Most men find out women are trouble in some form. But if you like her you should tell her otherwise if you start acting weird she’s not going to like you if that makes sense. At least if you tell her she’ll know why you’re acting weird.” Kamaru advised the young boy.

Looking up Kamaru scanned the sky between workers’ badge and paperwork verifications. ”Nice days like missions can change at a moment’s notice…Complacency is one of the easiest faults to exploit.” Kamaru commented matter of factly and was quite serious. ”It is a nice day though.” he added going back to work.

Although he was being social while getting to know his partner on the mission he made no mistake of his view on the countless things that could go wrong.

If this was just checking IDs they would have hired civilians. We need to be vigiliant incase… damn now I sound like Kazuki. Kamaru thought to himself and sighed slightly realizing the thought process he was going to seemed familiar somehow. Kamaru continued to work since the slight comment probably killed the mood or put the boy into paranoia next to him.

These conversation could continue as the pair did their first patrol around the construction site. Everything seemed to be going well. The noises of construction equipment starting up, and the smell of fresh lumber would come to their noses. Everything was going well, there weren’t even the protests that had come up recently as the result of old lady Tusundare hospitalization. Instead, it seemed there first form of a challenge would come with a group of younger men just sitting on a pile of lumber, there safety gear off, just shooting the breeze.

What would the two do? Would they yell at that them to get to work? Or would they let it pass, maybe they were just getting acquainted with the group of people they were working with? What would happen?

The small talk seemed to continue having the silence start as they came upon a group of younger men just sitting on a pile of lumber. They didn’t have their safety gear on and seemed to be relaxing. Kamaru would look around to the other workers and above them to see if they were in any immediate danger of their heads getting split open. Looking to his partner he realized he’d probably be taking the leader at the older of the two of them.

”Good morning gentlemen, is there anything going on that you wouldn't want to wear your construction safety equipment on a construction site? It’s also kind of early on the job to be taking a break no.” Kamaru would comment addressing the group scratching his chin his hands going into his pockets as he waited for an answer genuinely curious as to the crews current activities. He'd need to gauge the pecking and also to see who 'barked' the loudest if they were uncivil in the matter. Granted if they had an honest reason that would be fine.

Just as the conversation was wandering into the realm of awkwardness, a miracle happened along to save the day.
well...not a "miracle" but a distraction to say the least.
It seemed that a small group of workers had decided to take an early break.

They only started working a short while ago, they couldn't possible be tired already... Sabaku thought with a slightly raised eyebrow.

Almost immediately Kamaru begun to walk towards the group.

Man...this guy doesn't miss a thing... Sabaku thought to himself, in respectful amazement.

And before Sabaku could even think of what he should say, Kamaru spoke first, he tried to hint towards them that being in a construction zone is always dangerous....though they might not have gotten the clue. He also pointed out what Sabaku had thought...it was to early for a break.

Sabaku was relieved that Kamaru had spoken first, given the fact that these workers were clearly much older than him and most would scoff at the thought of a kid barking orders around.
Not that Sabaku would do such a thing...he most likely would have said something near the line of what Kamaru had just said.

So instead of piping in and adding any unnecessary extra comments, he would simply walk next Kamaru and meet every workers eyes slowly...one by one, waiting for a reply to Kamaru's inquiry.

Well, this was a shock to the group of men who were sitting there just conversing. They looked up at the Shinobi who they did not know was one of the sennin. They scoffed a bit but got up. “We were just greeting each other Masta. We are sorry.” said a black hair man in a sarcastic way. He had a tattoo around his face that made it seem that in one life he was a gangster in a past life. He did seem a bit happily “We’ll get to work right away Masta.” The man said as he went to put on his gear grumbling about the assholes that the shinobi were in this village.

Whether Kamaru and Sabaku did anything to the man for trying to humiliate him, nothing would seem to happen. In fact, the next couple hours. Until loud noises could be heard from outside the construction site. It was a protest. A protest from Lady Tsundare’s family yelling about what the shinobi’s of this village did to the old lady. Would the shinobi do anything to stop the disturbance? Would they just let it continue or would they stop it?

However, it seemed right at moment a loud crash was heard behind Kamaru and Sabaku. Someone should probably go investigate that as well.

Kamaru didn’t say much more to the man or the group. He did make note of the tattoo though but for the most part dismissed the petty squabbling. ”Hai, hai, I’m an asshole…” Kamaru stated in a monotone fashion the guy wasn’t totally wrong but in this case the guys were just being lazy in his eyes, ”I wonder why he’s living in a shinobi village if he doesn’t want to be around shinobi though.” Kamaru would comment to Sabaky more than the group just letting the man pout and sulk as Kamaru saw it.

Once they were off to work Kamaru would start up some banter with his partner for the job, ”The truth is I don’t really care what the man thinks of me.” Kamaru would start in as they went back on patrol as the construction seemed to start. ”I don’t need him to like me, I just need him to do his job since he’s getting paid for it. I’m doing mine since I’m getting paid for it, that’s just how things are sometimes. He’s entitled to his opinion of me and what I do. I get the same option though. That’s just part of the job sometimes; sometimes people just won’t like you or be thankful for what you’ve done.” Kamaru explained. ”It’s when people’s thoughts or opinions have negative results that we need to watch for as Shinobi, those changes in people’s behavior and being able to notice them are the indicators sometimes that tips you off to ambushes and set ups on missions.” he confided.

Kamaru had been moving with Sabaku on patrol until the sounds of the protest were heard.

”You know anything about this Lady Tsundare and what the story was behind what the shinobi did to her? Was it recent and what kind of business would we have with an old la-“ Kamaru would begin to ask. Sabaku might not go on a lot of missions or gossip but he had been in the village at least six months more than Kamaru so he figure it was possible he’d know something if not they could just ask what the protesters were talking about. They usually liked it when you listened. His questions were cut short by the loud crash from the site somewhere behind them.

”They’ll have to wait. That doesn’t sound like normal construction work sounds watch yourself.” Kamaru stated and warned before turning and moving in what he thought was the direction the sound was.

If that tattoo faced idiot is dickering around on the site and caused this I’m going to peel his tattoo off his face with a dull knife.

Kamaru thought to himself looking around for higher ground to use to spot the confusion or scene of the noise. If it was dangerous they’d have to get the protesters out of harm’s way or they’d be protesting about something entirely different.

(OoC: Sabaku feel free to RP conversation out if you like; Also looking for higher ground to spot and give advantage to assessing what’s going on)

The workers went back to work with some grumbling included and Sabaku and Kamaru went on their way, continuing their path of watching over construction. Kamaru explained some very fundamental life lessons about people on their behaviors and what to make of them...This would defiantly help him solve problems later on in his life.

Still in disbelief about that fact that he got to work side by side with the sennin, the came across a group of protesters...they seemed to be complaining about someone named Tsundare.
Sabaku thought for a moment while Kamaru asked if he knew anything about her.

Raising his head to answer there was a loud crash somewhere located within the construction zone. Immediately Kamaru, with a sudden burst of speed, headed towards the sounds.

Still standing there with his mouth open and the protesters nearby, Kamaru had already made it a ways ahead of Sabaku...
Unsure of what he should do, Sabaku froze for a split second having to decide whether to follow Kamaru or figure out what was with the protesters.
Thinking the protesters could probably wait, he begun to follow Kamaru....though he was already a ways ahead of him.

I need to catch up!!! Sabaku thought.

Trying with all his might to run faster, the area around him began to distort and warp around him and instantaneously he was running next to Kamaru.

Ugh...there it goes again... Muttered Sabaku under his breath, but still loud enough for Kamaru to hear.

Sabaku recalled the incident that happened in the abandoned minecraft that one fateful day with Mr. Hissori, He had still not been able to control these happenings and they also seemed to be happening more frequently...
Sabaku really needed to learn how to control this mysterious power lurking inside him. Whether it was from pure effort and training or someone else explaining what was happening to him.
Growing up... what a tough thing for kids ha ha...

So, it seemed the decision was made to leave the protests to do whatever they wanted to do. Hopefully, it was the right decision.

So has the pair ran towards the sound, the noises of screaming people would only get louder. It seemed that it came from area around the metal pipes and large stones. It was all the way across the construction site it would take some time. However, when they got there they’d see nothing much than a tragedy.

It seems that some large steel pipes had fallen on two young boys. They did not seem to be younger than fifteen or sixteen. Screaming for help they were struggling and it seemed that no one could move both of the steel pipes. What would the shinobi do?

Moving away from the protestors towards a higher priority situation might have been foolish. Granted he could have told Sabaku to watch them but if they entered the construction site in their protest Kamaru could possibly just tell them to leave due to the nature of their protest, one of the next possible actions they could try is sabotage.

Kamaru swore mentally, he didn’t know if it was carelessness, a fluke accident, or sabotage but he had to civilian workers screaming their heads off fearful of death to deal with when he showed up to the occurence. He breathed in slowly still moving towards the scene assessing and thought. Taking in the current setting into account he wouldn’t have time to figure out how it happened initially.

”Sabaku we need to get the workers into place once the boys are safe to help secure a path out. Get them organized, get them ready to move on que, once they boys are out we’ll assess for injuries. Keep an eye open… this also be a distraction for something else happening. “ Kamaru simply stated still moving towards the jumbled pile of pipes still his movements slowing slightly becoming more rigid as he entered into Earth Chakra Style.

[OoC:
Entering Earth Chakra Style: Craggy Exterior, using Earthen Coating.
  • Attempting to use Earth Reflection Lure to sink under the clutter to come up closer to the boys if possible.
If I can get in there attempt to pull them down
Summon a rock golem if there’s room above us to help lift the pipe
If I can't get in or there isn't room summon before getting under the pipes.
    • If there isn't room summon an Earth Based Elemental Clone to help shelter the two trapped teenagers inside the opening they're trapped in.
If rescue looks like it's going well look around to see who's watching and not doing anything in the area.]

As the two got closer, Sabaku begun to hear screams... Screams that pierced Sabaku's fragile young psyche. It got his adrenaline pumping from sheer anticipation about what had happened. The two arrived and discovered two boys that had been trapped in a pile of steel pipes... This wasn't good, they could probably die if they didn't hurry and help them.

The sudden realization of the two boys being hurt was quite shocking to Sabaku. Sabaku had never seen such catastrophe before and wasn't sure how to go about grasping the situation. Kamaru had issued some orders to Sabaku about getting people in order and looking out for other problems that might arise. But Sabaku was frozen in place...it took about 5-10 seconds for him to react to what he was told.

OH! Right sorry sir, right away sir! Sabaku replied

Running over to the group of workers that seemed to be only watching the commotion going on, Sabaku would begin to bark out orders of his own.

OK, I need everyone to listen up! Sabaku would yell to the workers.
I need everyone able to move when i say move, sit when i say sit, run when i say run. Sabaku would list.
This may be a set up for something more or it could just be an accident, but for now I need EVERYONE'S full attention and willingness to do what I say when I say it. Sabaku said with a serious tone.

Sabaku would look around attempting to inspect his surrounding trying to keep an eye out for any surprises that might show themselves.

How are you doing over there Kamaru? Sabaku would ask with a concerned look.
Do you need my assistance?

It was probably the best case that Kamaru was there in this case. Students may be a great resource for a village ass they were cheap labor, but they were not ready to deal with the more gruesome life as this. Almost idmediately, the sennin took charge of the situation. With a flurry of handsigns, Kamaru would disappear into the earth, and in the next moment the two children disappeared from under the rock into the earth as well. Then ten seconds later, the trio emerged from the earth and would probably be laid to rest in some other spot away from the fallen metal polls.

Crying, the boys didn’t want to look at their legs, but it would seem that they were crushed, and shattered. It made many of the workers want to vomit because they could see that probably these boys would be forever crippled. However, two of the older men ran to pick them up and carry them out of the scene. Maybe with an order to be more careful, and to get back to work the duo would have ended the day with that interesting day, but it was not.

When the pair would begin to walk around again, they would notice the first place they went to, and yelled at the group of workers was surprisingly empty, and the noises of protest has gotten louder.

As the workers picked up the boys sabaku would yell out to be gentle so that there might still be a chance.

HEY YOU TWO, be careful with those boys, if you can find Hissori that would be good...he might be there only hope of walking again! Sabaku would yell out.

And so the dynamic duo would set forth back to their lovely stroll through the contruction zone. All things seemed well besides that earlier incidnet... or so it seemed.
They had rearrived at the location that kamaru had gotten on those lazy workers to get back to work, and there seemed to be...yelling? Yes yelling, but from where?
Sabaku stopped and listened trying to pick up from where the sound was coming from. He managed to pinpoint the noises when he heard louder yelling from a distance.

What now?!?! Sabaku thought to himself.

At just that moment Sabaku would take off in the direction of the noises at full speed.

Kamaru looking over the boys’ legs he would order additional construction workers to assist the two trying to carry the boys as to not further injure them. At least to an area that seemed safer for now since their legs needed attending to quickly. The easiest description would be to say their legs were mangled. In normal circumstances the boys would soon be amputees if the emergency care needed didn’t come. If the boys were to be walking again someone needed to be called in. Over his headset Kamaru requested any medic in the area for immediate emergency care or if available this Hissori Sabaku spoke of.

Kamaru would assess the situation and look for any clue to the cause of the accident to see if it was an accident due to carelessness or sabotage. Before leaving Kamaru would notice the group that had been around earlier that were slacking off were gone, grabbing a few workers he’d tell them the general description of the group and to let him know if they were around. Moving to the sound of the protest Kamaru walked at a brisk pace his rigid mannerisms fading into a calmer state before he picked up speed. If the protest had turned uncivil and moved towards rioting violence may not be the answer he needed for the most part though if they were unruly he’d get them off the premise in one form or the other.

It was Sabaku who would first meeting with the problem. It seemed that the whole west side of the construction site had stopped working. In turn they have all taken up protesting with the family that had been outside the gates. The man with the tear tattoos on his face seemed to be yelling about how these changes were going to destroy the structure of the inner marushi. Of how this hospital was really bad and how everyone should leave. This would leave Sabaku in the awkward position of now having to assert himself as not only an adult, but a true shinobi.

Meanwhile, Kamaru was being ushered away by two medical shinobi whom were starting to take care of the boys. They had been called by the near-by trauma center to save these two kids legs. He would come upon Sabaku about to confront the man, what would sabaku do? The spotlight was on him.

Coming upon the horde of protesters he recognized one of them... this was the guy from before. This upset Sabaku to find him again not working, and after the Sennin told him to go back to work...how disrespectful....to him and to this building. Sabaku couldn't understand why they didn't want the building. And so he stepped up and began to speak.

LISTEN UP! Sabaku would shout trying to get everyone's attention... also shooting up a crackling lightning bolt for emphasis.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves! This building is meant to be a friendly, healing place. A place you might need to go if you were ever to be injured. The man who thought we should build this hospital is a kind and generous person. How could any of you stoop so low as to protest such a beautiful progression in our village? Progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have a lot, it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little. And in such a poor district as this wouldn't you think that we could use some cheap medical attention? And by none other that the medical Chief. And besides people... without deviation from the normal ways of life, progress is not possible. Do you want to remain a poor and helpless district? Or do you want to stand with us and build a better future for EVERYONE!? Said Sabaku as he made a long a hopefully meaningful speech.

Sabaku begun to turn away from the crowd but had one more thing to add...

The only thing stopping our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts and fears of today. Let us move forward with strong and active determination, Help us build a better tomorrow...TODAY! Exclaimed Sabaku, as he threw his fists into the air.

At just that moment he noticed that Kamaru had been standing behind him for sometime now....what would he say to such a [hopefully] inspiring speech.
