This was also completely, absolutely, 100% unrelated to the fact that her supposed servant had given her an extremely long lecture over using the Aikayume clans wealth on 'pointless personal stuff', rather than saving it for the maintenance of her clan's shrine and what not. Blah blah blah is what Azusa heard from her, really...See, the Aikayume was an old clan; when it came to financial stability, the priestess had no issues to worry herself over. Sadly, that lecture ended up with Azusa being forbidden from carrying large amounts of the clans' money without at least one other clansman with her. Which she may or may not have obeyed.
....But this money she got from being a Genin was HER money. Money that she earned, and thus could spend on all sorts of frivolities without having to be burdened with guilt or hearing the nagging of her supposed servant. And that made all the difference.
And so, the blonde Genin was walking the streets of the Golden district and was struck by a newfound realization that those figures next to that silky ribbon? Next to that nice fitting top? Or that crystalline kunai?
....Well, she ignored them before when she was younger, but they actually carried weight to them when she was using her personal money to pay for them! "....That's too many numbers. Is someone supposed to work for months for a stupid ribbon?!" Her ears twitched in bewilderment. How was it possible for others to manage?!
The daughter of foxes silently nodded her head in a small prayer of thanks to every spirit in existence for her fortune of being born to the main branch of the Aikayume.
....So perhaps she wouldn't completely redecorate her room as she intended. But there must have been something here worth spending months upon months of a genin's pay on. Had to be.
