Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Appearance:

Akane and Akihiko both have pale white skin, jet black hair and bloody red eyes due to their albinism. Their hair are both cut short that they are completely identical with each other but nobody else but their elder brother, Tatsuya, knows that and he is also the only one that can really differentiate between them. Everyone else thinks that it is easy to differentiate one from the other, seeing as one has longer hair than the other. But the truth is, it is merely a wig. In fact, not one specific twin wears the wig and it’s likely possible that either Akane is Akihiko and Akihiko is Akane to the unsuspecting person. They both wear uniform outfits most of the time as well, to up the ante and the confusion and to keep people on their toes. On the rare occasion that they don’t wear completely identical clothes, they wear identical looking clothes in opposite hues of colour or wear clothes complementing each others, one being male’s and the other female’s (although that does not necessarily mean that Akihiko is wearing the masculine clothes and Akane the feminine). It also doesn't help that they like dressing up.



Personality:

The short haired twin is polite and soft spoken and the long haired twin is loud and rude – the only problem is, no one except they themselves and their brother is sure of who is who. It could easily be Akane who is polite and soft spoken and Akihiko the loud and rude one… or it could be the reverse! Either way, aside from their way of speaking, their mannerisms are quite identical only because they’ve practiced and been trained that way. They’re a secretive pair, trusting, loyal and loving only to each other and their brother (and, on the rare occasion, those who deserve it); it’s better if nobody else knows who exactly is who with the two. They both act innocent and playful, locally known as resident pranksters that won’t hesitate to desecrate even the Mizukage’s office but they are anything but innocent. Their childish, young natures and appearances are only there to fool others, so that they can be underestimated and overlooked. Within these two are rather demonic souls, the darkness in their minds daring to ravish those who stand in their way. Considering that they’ve been raised by the Mist equivalent of a Mafia, they can be ruthless and without mercy to their enemies. They have been trained to be quick and cunning, swift on their feet and with their hands and are not hesitant to use foul play to get what they want – they are not honor bound, goody two shoes Minamoto after all.

History:

Born to the prestigious Shoukyou family, Akane and Akihiko were born into the Main Branch, son and daughter to Shoukyou Seiichi and Asami and brother and sister to Shoukyou Tatsuya.

The twins were raised in the belief that their family was superior especially those with tainted blood and were given the task of serving their family, especially their elder brother who was the heir. Although loved and given the choice to be individuals, the twins had a strange connection wherein they were synchronized or, at the very least, able to understand each other’s mental and emotional being and chosen at a young age to train and grow as a unit. As Shinobi, they trained to perform as a team together and, as a result, are hardly seen without each other. As Shinobi, their goals were to serve their family, first and foremost, even before their own country.

Starting at the Academy at the age of seven, on a technicality, they graduated two years later with flying colours in all avenues… with a little cheating on their part. For one twin was better at certain aspects than another, they impersonated each other to make up for each other faults even to the point that during most of their stay in the Academy, most believed they were merely one student.

Unlike their elder brother, they were not hesitant to humiliate and debase their peers and even some of their teachers by proving themselves more intelligent and superior in every possible way they could and had earned the notorious reputations as delinquents, although they could never be punished due to their outstandingly clean records (again, with a little cheating on their part). Because of this, they were fairly disliked by the entire school population, except perhaps for a select few who could tolerate their strangeness.

To everyone’s surprise, they separated after graduation, Akane joining the infamous ANBU Corps while Akihiko joined the renowned Medical Corps. Akane became a part of the ANBU’s Intelligence squad while Akihiko worked in surgery and at the morgue. Unbeknownst to all but their parents, brother, the ANBU Sennin and the Mizukage (the latter two for their permission), they only chose to do so to be able to receive training from both fields, trading places every so often without anyone else none the wiser.

In between their duties at the hospital and as ANBU, they continued their civilian studies and also took their roles as Tatsuya’s bodyguards very seriously. At the age of thirteen, it was ordained that Akane was to be married to the Isaki clan’s heir to promote unity between the two old and powerful families, much to the sister’s dismay.

They were momentarily withdrawn from active duty to serve their clan and has recently returned to the active roster. Due to their inactivity though, they were removed from the active ANBU roster and had to take a backseat as medic in the Sanatorium.

It is not uncommon in the shinobi world for people to be raised and taught to restrain, or otherwise outright erase any emotions or attachment they may feel. While many shinobi seem to ignore the old ways, few are able to do the opposite and harness the strength of their emotions at a seconds notice. Those with this ability are gifted with the ability to read the emotions of others, and let their passion fuel and guide their abilities. Some possess emotions so strong, so intense, that they are able to draw out their feelings in the form of physical energy, at the cost of their own heart and soul's well being.

Note: All techniques and buffs from this Core Ability are considered Spiritual.

Empathy Scan - Passive (2 points)
Emotions are the basis of these shinobi's abilities, there is little they do not understand about the causes and strengths of their feelings, as well as the outcomes they may influence on a person’s mind. Because of their extensive knowledge, these shinobi are able to read the emotions of others be it a frail child or hardened criminal. With their understanding, it is said that those with this gift are able to understand the action’s of other’s before they themselves decide.
Effect: +1.5 accuracy and dodge against those with a Genjutsu of 30 or more lower than user. Those with Genjutsu between 29 lower and equal to the user must make a Genjutsu save against this technique's success each round, using the Genjutsu DC of the user and Genjutsu Save of the target.

Emotion Bindings - Independent Special Move (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
At times, a person's emotions can cause them to behave irrationally and without thought, though for these shinobi they possess the ability to actually use the intense strength of their emotions to create a physical energy, using the pure intensity of their passion to restrain others to the air itself.
Effect: Allows the user to create 4 blades that hit at -1 Ninjutsu accuracy. Should all four hit, the target is chakra bound. If the bound victim is targeted offensively, the binding is dispelled. Can only be used on one target at a time, and once per battle per target successfully. Costs 1 AP.

Emotion Barrier - Independent Special Move (2 points)
These shinobi are attuned to their inner feelings, and as such they are easily capable of forming strong bonds of attachment with others. At time’s, there is little that is stronger than their intense desire to protect other's, and they are able to create a visible form of their desire to protect in the form of a barrier. Though this energy is not chakra as it may appear, but rather a portion of the user’s own life force sacrificed for the well being of others.
Effect: User is able to use up to 10% of their Max HP to create a barrier around themselves and others. This used HP cannot be recovered while the barrier is in effect. Healing jutsu used within the barrier gain +25% effectiveness; Genjutsu cannot be cast through the barrier. The barrier lasts three rounds or until the HP is depleted. If the barrier drops with any HP left in it, this HP is returned to the user. Usable three times a battle. Costs 1 AP.|Charm Person - Independent Special Move (2 points)

To those who understand the workings of the emotions of other’s, one can find that manipulating them is a simple task that only requires a bit of subtle guidance. These shinobi are able to play with the inner natures of others to such a degree, that they are nearly able to bend the will of others to suit their own causes, even if it is a simple act of raising their disposition them more.
Effect: Able to target one person with a Genjutsu-like effect for a duration of two rounds. During this time, the target must succeed against a Genjutsu roll in order to attack the user. Costs 500 HP to use and 250 to maintain the second round. The same target cannot be affected more than once per battle.

Compassionate - Passive (2 points)
Time has long been understood as the only remedy to heal emotional wounds, taking months to heal some of the deeper wounds. However, to those with the deep understanding of these same emotions, they find that their emotional wounds heal quickly, and the gap in their soul left by their drawn out emotions can be healed with little more than time.
Effect: Self-inflicted damage is recovered at 3% max HP per round. Damage that is not self inflicted cannot be recovered this way. Allows recovery of lost HP from Emotion Barrier while still in the barrier.

Emotional Torque - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- May be purchased up to twice
The power of the Empathetic's emotions, their own combined with what they see in other people, is sometimes too intense for them to handle. They need to channel it through their chakra, letting it fuel their attacks instead of tearing at their souls.
Effect: +5% Ninjutsu damage

Sentimental - Passive (3 points)
Much in the same way that these shinobi are able to peer into and read the emotions of others, these shinobi are constantly able to sense the feelings of those around them, and understand with an eerie perception that allows them to react and act upon the feelings of others.
Effect: The Empath has +10% Auto-dodge to all sources.

Inner Passion - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Emotions, while often viewed as a sign of weakness, can be a powerful tool if embraced and utilized to their full extent. Unlike other shinobi who only feel brief and momentary spurs of emotion, these shinobi fuel themselves with their intense emotions and desires, and little seems to be able to quench the flames of their passion.
Effect: The user gains 10% damage reduction against all damage including other soul techniques, and does not take knockback or falling penalties. Effects that would prevent them from attacking are 5% less likely to succeed and AP reducing techniques only have 50% normal chance of working on them.

Spiritual Anguish - Jutsu (1 point, 1 to rank up)
Restrictions- A-Rank and Up
It is rumored that this technique strikes at the very soul of its victim, but whether or not this is true, what is the soul other than the inner emotions of a being? With their understanding and ability to use their own emotions as a source of power, these compassionate shinobi find that that can use this ability to strike at the same source in another. This technique damages the life force, or soul, of the victim, overflowing them with a surge of emotional energy that both painfully disrupts and rips a hole in the life force of the target.
Rank 1: Uses Ninjutsu accuracy. A successful hit disrupts 2 AP worth of actions and Deals 2000 damage to the victim's HP and CP. If the victim fails a Genjutsu Save, they take an additional 1000 unbuffable damage and a -1 dodge and Genjutsu Save penalty for three rounds afterward.
Rank 2: Uses Ninjutsu accuracy. A successful hit disrupts 2.5 AP worth of actions. Deals 2500 damage to the victim's HP and CP. If the victim fails a Genjutsu Save, they take an additional 1500 unbuffable damage and a -2 dodge and Genjutsu Save penalty for three rounds afterward.

Cost: 4500 CP, 1500 HP, 3 AP.
