Trekking from the village up into the mountain range, Daisuke had time to relax a bit or rather decompress. It had been a little while since he left the village and the current mission he was on would be a breeze to finish. He gave himself the responsibility to search for new and mysterious plants in the hopes of making new medicines. True enough, the work seemed easy. A little too easy for someone of his status in the hospital or rank within the village. That was it was all a rouse. While he did intend to search for new plants with medical uses, there were other things he craved to search for. Playtime would come later however as he reached the base of a particular mountain.
"This is the place. According to my studies, there should be new plants all around this mountain. I just need to climb." he thought as he prepared to ascend into the clouds. He grabbed the pouch needed and placed it on his right side for starting the climb, which turned out to be more difficult than he originally expected. Before long he reached the first plateau. He pulled his self up and stood across from a very beautiful sight. Numerous plants of various colors and shapes all growing together in a very unlikely place. By his guesstimation, there were at least twenty different kinds of herbs. His eyes widened thinking, "Yes. I knew all those long hours of studying that tedious book discussing vegetation growth would pay off." The chief walked over carefully noticing a nearby cave with a potential unknown inhabitant. He pulled out his pouch and began filling the pouch with the herbs, but he heard a loud roar after gaining ten of twenty plants.
He turned both in curiosity and in fear, only to see a large bear standing on its hind legs. The bear, angered by Daisuke’s presence, attempted to sway his face clean off. The chief managed to dodge the attack just barely and rather than waste his chakra on such a creature, he would instead waste his arrows. Reaching into his backpack, he pulled out the summoning scroll for his tactical assault crossbow, the very same crossbow he fantasized about using on the Hoshikage of bear country. It was all too easy to snipe down the charging beast. One squeeze of the trigger and he went back to his work. Upon finishing up, he heard echoes from within the small cave.
Feeling a need to finish what he started, he loaded his weapon and entered the cave. As expected, he found the small offspring waiting patiently for their parent to return. While a small part of him wanted to finish off, he could not allow his frustration get the best of him. Just like with their parent, he loaded up arrows covered in a sticky liquid that had similar effects to an illegal drug used to help people forget what had occurred the night before and used it on the cubs. The three bears would live this day because simply killing the animal which represented his enemy’s country was not good enough for him. He would become stronger and have his revenge. He wasted no time resting anymore and continued to ascend the mountain. He had to find a natural connection in this world which could help him bring peace within his self. Only then would he return to the village. In the meantime, he climbed onward and upward into the spine of the world.
