Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was the dead of night and the village was silent for most part. Hakuren strolls through the streets heading towards the Obsidian Palace. A full moon lights her way though with her cat, which she was carry, serving as her eyes even the miniscule light of the stars she could see her path. There were a few people still up and about while most were asleep. One scene catches her eyes; a girl that looked not older than twelve was surrounded by men. She had pale skin, white hair and eye the color of crimson. Tears roll down her cheek as she was trapped with her back against the wall. The men after going after her looked to be religious folk.

One of Hakuren’s sisters is a shrine maiden to Mother Suna. These men looked like that were going to rape this poor child. Hakuren could not stand such blasphemy and decides to take action. She takes care of the monks by trapping them in various illusions and attempts to rescue the girl. “No need to be afraid little one.” She says with a gentle tone as she bends down to the girl’s level with an out stretched arm. Then suddenly the unexpected happens and Hakuren quickly realizes just how much she misread the situation. The little girl was far from defenseless and attacks Hakuren for reasons that is not yet known to her. The little girl lunges at Hakuren like a feral wolf biting hard into her neck. The girl’s fangs sink into Hakuren's flesh and she begins to pass out her body convulsing under the girl's grip.

The next morning she wakes up in an unfamiliar room. Without her pets she could not see, but it was quite clear she was not at home. From the sounds and smells it seems as if she was at the hospital. Pressing a hand to her neck she feels a bandage covering the place she was bitten. She had hoped that was just some strange dream, but it appears that it was indeed reality. Just who was that strange girl? What did she do to her? And how long was she out? These were the questions that flowed through her mind. These were questions that will only be answered through time.

[ooc: To any medical staff that join: Hakuren suffered lacerations to the neck and severe chakra loss.]

The stars over Wind Country were held high over head, glittering in the cloudless obsidian sky with only the light of a half-moon beaming down across the surface of the growing village's landscape. The clocks had rolled past midnight naught but only an hour ago, and on both the surface and the cavernous depths of the village, nary a creature was to be found stirring, for even the elusive shinobi needed sleep and most buildings were shut down for the night's passing. There was an exception, however, one building that looked just as alive as it did during the day, lights cascading out of many of its windows as night-staff hurried themselves throughout Sunagakure's grand hospital. As with all rules, there was another exception, and this one found its way wandering the lit halls of the medical facility.

Dressed in rather eccentric clothing and of no greater age than perhaps 10, a young boy with a bored expression made his way through the halls of the building he had spent most of his time since his awakening in the village. He casually peeked into various rooms, only to find their inhabitants sleeping. While social grace did appear to elude him time and time again, he knew better than to disturb the ill and injured while they slept, and so his aimless journey had continued. That is until he came upon a room with a women that appeared to be awake. Wordlessly, he pressed the door open and walked right into the room with only the faint sound of the smooth swinging door announcing his presence. Then, with all of the authority, or indifference, of a medical professional, he walked into the room and walked over towards the clipboard and chart that hung on the end of the woman's bed. He casually lifted it from where it hung, and began reading over it, standing nearly perfectly still and silent as he did so.

Hakuren’s head instantly turns towards the sound to the door. With her lack of sight she was very tentative to her other senses. She could her every footfall and the sound of his cloths as he moved. She was born blind and learned to adapt. The amount of pressure against the floor suggested he was light weighted: most likely a child. His clothing didn’t sound like a like the white coats the medical personally normally wears. He also had an aroma about him; it was sweet, almost mouthwatering and for the life of her she could not figure out what the scent was.

Hakuren never believed in vampires; creatures of the night that would go out and feed on a person’s chi or chakra as shinobi likes to call it. However it seems she unknowingly met one and was fortunate enough to be in its good graces. Instead of becoming like cattle, she was chosen to join the coven. That little girl gave her a gift for saving her and now Hakuren was going through some incredible changes. This ability to sense chakra by smell was only just the beginning.

With a sigh Hakuren slides out of bed and incidentally tips over the chair sitting next to the bed. On the chair were all her clothes she came in with including her bra and panties. Hakuren rubs her temples as she feels like this is going to be a long day. She hated this stupid backless gown that they gave patients and for this reason she was hesitant to bend down to pick her clothes. “If you are going to be here, do you mind helping a blind woman out?” She then points to where the clothes were scattered on the floor.

The sound of the chair tipping and smacking onto the ground did not appear to phase the boy, and neither did the woman's notice of his presence. he continued to read over the chart for a handful of seconds after she posed her request, seeming to feel no sense of urgency to either put down the board or to rush to a blind woman's aid. "Taisen Hakuren. Age 18." he read out bits of the information that was neatly scrawled onto the board including her height, blood type and anything else of note in a dull, potentially disinterested tone. If one did not know better, one might assume he was an aged doctor who had seen far too many patients to care anymore, if it were not for his age.

He gingerly set the board back down at the end of the bed where he found it before he walked over towards the side of the bed with the slightly scattered pile of clothing. "Blindness. Chronic Anemia. Muscular Dystrophy. Active shinobi. Rank Genin." He knelt down and picked up each article of clothing one at a time, forming a small pile in his arms before he stood up and offered them out for the woman to take. "Very curious. How do you traverse without the ability to visually sense your surroundings?" The boy's words were somewhat flat, but did hold a sense of curiosity. More unsettling was the manner that he spoke, with each worth of a perfect clarity and enunciation, but with a slow and measured pace that put an awkward split second of a pause between words that might be described as unsettling. As he awaited his answer, he simply stared up at the woman, unblinking and stiff.

Hakuren was not sure how to answer that question. It’s a common but unusual question to ask a blind person. She was born blind and came accustomed to the eternal darkness and there are many times she finds the use of visual sense to get around disorienting. Hakuren takes her clothes and places them on the bed before looking back at Rensuke. She had blue eyes but the color was extremely fade making them almost white. “The better question you should be asking is how I became a genin with my conditions.” As she lets that sink in she decides to remove the bandage around her neck. She still could not believe that girl bit her with such a strong grip. “How does my neck look? I don’t feel any pain from the bite anymore.” Upon inspection there was no sign of her ever been bit. It was as if she was completely healed from the encounter. Instead one would see a mark that resembled a curse seal in its dormant state. It is the mark of the covenant; a sign of her acceptance into the coven. The little girl Hakuren saved didn’t attack her but gave her a special gift bestowed to few.

Ren's head tilted slightly ajar as he looked up towards her asking in his flat tone, "that would be the continuation of the logical progression of the question. Does that make my original question less valid, Taisen Hakuren?" He did not sound annoyed or spiteful that she had redirected his question, instead he sounded as calmly curious as before. After she posed her request for him to look at her neck, she would suddenly feel him reach up in an attempt to lean her forwards and tilt her neck aside in a rather abrupt motion. Presuming she did not flinch back or pull away from being manipulated by the oddly strong boy, he would tilt her neck to the side so that he could see the spot she indicated.

"There is no swelling." He pressed his rather cool fingers against various spots on her exposed neck, using a much smaller amount of force than he had before. "No discoloration or damage to the skin. It appears that the wound no longer manifests itself. If the medical reports did not dictate otherwise, it would appear that no such incident." He tilted her head towards the other side for a moment, checking to see if there was a mark on the other side, but found nothing. Moving her neck back into position, he traced his fingers along a tattooed spot on her neck. "The record had no mention of a tattoo on this part of your neck. What is its purpose?" He asked, not easily allowing her to move around unless she worked somewhat hard to pull from the position.

Hakuren would willingly let Rensuke touch her neck and move her head. She did after all invite him to look at it so it was fine with her. She was happy to hear that it had healed up so nicely. She must admit the medical staff did some nice work. Then he says something that confuses her, “A what?!” Out of instinct she goes to step back in retreat, but his hold kept her from doing so. “Hold on I have to take a look at this myself.” She sweeps her arm pass her face to knock away the boy’s arms. She did not want to risk accidentally hurting him with what she was about to do. Sitting herself on the bed she makes a few handseals.

In a brilliant ball flame a fiery bird is conjured before her. As it was first summoned it had its wings stretched out wide and they looked to be like veils of pure fire. Plumage of red, orange and yellow adorn its wings. The feathers shimmered in the light like a flickering flame. It then soars around the room creating a trail of embers in its path. The small flakes a burning ash quickly fade as it gently floats in the air. Hakuren raises a hand and seeing it the bird gracefully lands in her palm. The creature was so small that Hakuren could hold it like a dove. “You wish to know how I get around. Right?”

Hakuren then suddenly faint falling flat onto the bed. The little bird raises a wing to grab the boy’s attention. “This is how I normally travel. It’s a bloodline trait.” Hakuren knew what the next logical question would be. Hakuren in her new body hops on the bed to get a better at the tattoo Rensuke was taking about. To her surprise there was indeed some sort of mark which resembled a tattoo of sorts. “I’m not sure, but I believe that this is curse seal.” Hakuren was not completely familiar on the topic. She had a general knowledge of what they look like and what they do. “As for its purpose, I won’t know until I activate it.”

After his arms were brushed away by the woman, Ren stood there with a muted expression of curiosity as she summoned the bird of flame. His expression did not change as she collapsed, and even still as the bird began to speak to him. The wonders of the ninja world would never cease to astound. "This is very curious. If this is you, then you appear to be in an unconscious state and have somehow tethered your consciousness to this external manifestation in a manner that allows you control and sight through purely artificial means." A momentary pause allowed the construct time to speak of the cursed seal she spied upon her body. "I am not familiar with anything of the identification of cursed seal. Would it be advised to tamper with something of an unknown origin?" As he was finishing, Ren reached out and attempted to push one of his fingers against the fiery plumage of the bird, aiming to complete the task even if it resulted in a singed finger on his part.

The boy grasps the concept of what she did quite nicely and with the literation that of a person much older than he appears. She is starting to wonder if this boy was a doctor after all. Perhaps some sort of young prodigy. “Indeed it is a bloodline technique that I rarely use in such a fashion. Roku was more into possessing elemental creations, while I prefer animals myself.” The boy gave advice on the side of caution and it was a valid point. Curse seals gave great power at a price. They could change one’s form and even effect one’s mental state. There are those that went mad from curse seals, but many that haven’t. “Perhaps, but the temptation is gnawing.” Touching the plumage a he would notice the feathers were warm to the touch, but not exactly hot. This is because she drastically lowered the creation temperature as to not inadvertently set the bed ablaze. Retreating a hop away from him she asks, “What was that for?”
