Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Early in the morning, Tamashii would find himself ready for the preparations were done. Getting word that this mission was finally sent out, and the Examination would be underway. It was simple the night before he sent for Two students and Two Genin. All of them were relatively on the same level... however, there was a fresh Genin amongst them, a seasoned genin, and two genin prospects tat were ready to show they were ready for the next level. Sending them into an 'abandoned' village... with minimal devices. However, Tamashii would give them somethings to go about their way and through such treacherous ways into this place, He would send for them, giving them the coordinates as well as escorted passage to the designated spot. It wouldnt be too hard honestly, but this was definitely something that he would send them out on with a large bout of confidence. He knew that they could do what he had them to do... and they wouldnt need any outside help. Though, this wasnt going to be something that he would have to keep a keen eye on. Either way, He'd have to tell them everything then they got there...

Standing before Tamashii was four bags, each had similar items in them but that was to be found when they picked up the bags. With Tamashii were two scrolls in hand, as he tapped them against his palm waiting for them to appear. He stood at the top of a cliff overlooking the abandoned village below. As well as another connecting fortress. This was the city of the Silent Ones. Those who roamed the village normally ended up not being able to talk about what they had seen or been apart of. Connected south of the abandoned village was another place said to have spots of high radiation from a ninjutsu fight gone wrong it could be highly dangerous if the kids were to come into contact with it... Who knew though... They would find out soon enough...

[OOC: Alright, Just your simple entry post here more details will be given when everyone is present and accounted for.]

Quest unlike the Rest [Exam/Mission] : I

There had been many times in the past that Nyura Katawa questioned her origins; but the nagging memory of a fellow Genin being felled in combat whilst she lead their team sat in a loop, clawing at her conscience. How he had gone above and beyond the call of a shinobi, sacrificing himself in order to defeat their target due to her own inefficiency as a leader, and a ninja. A dreadful doubt weighed on her mind as their journey began, though having rested within her small abode located within the narrow corridors that littered the sides of Konaha's reknown Maple District. This reminiscent mindset left her exploring many emotions along their trip; the escort giving her a subtle sense of ease as she kept stride with her new found companions. Each pace across familiar or foreign terrain brought them that much closer to their trial, and it seemed as if the pilgrimage to this 'City of Silent Ones' was soaring by, as if watching the sun set over the mountains of the Fire Country. At first the gleaming light sat strong at the peak, but quickly its hue alters, shades shifting to a darker tone within what could seem like only minutes.

Their party eventually came to a halt, a curious expression darting over her youthful and pale complexion as she addressed Tamashii with respect, giving a courteous bow of her posture forward, hands held neatly at her sides. Soon rising to her prior stance, her glassy blue gaze became fixated over the assortment of bags in front of them. Curiosity began to seep in, the ominous scene of the ramshackle city in the distance jostled her from the negative thoughts that had been plaguing her mind whilst upon their trek. Deciding to break the silence with a stern tone, a shaky confidence as she hoped to plunge first into dialogue, hoping to draw out information from their instructor.

Shiori had been up all night, unable to sleep from excitement.

It was time for his exam! Finally, the long wait, the hours put in, it all seemed worth it. His first true step on the path to greatness and immortality. He had tried to sleep, but every time he went to lie down, his mind became abuzz with thoughts. What would the exam be like? Would it be written? Would there be fighting? He secretly hoped for the latter, getting the taste for it after fighting Kaori.

Now he was out in the wilderness, trudging through greenery. He had never been to this part of the village before, staying almost entirely within the village after he had moved here. He looked around at the environment, taking it all in. The lush vegetation reminded him somewhat of home.

Larger vegetation began to recede as they ascended, the march becoming harder going as the slope tilted. It was unconcerning, Shiori had the same reserves of energy as most shinobi, improving his endurance greatly, but he had to keep his eye out for unsure footing. He began thinking on what would be at the end of the march. He fiddled with his ring between his fingers, a nervous habit.

Finally, they crested the rise. Shiori was taken in by the view, a silent village clumped on the plain below the soaring cliff. Wind plucked at his ragged hair and tattered clothing as he squinted against the sun. How picturesque.

He had focussed so much on the view he hadn’t noticed Tamashii stood, four bags in front of him, 2 scrolls in hand. What could they be for?

"So we are here then?"

Shiori turned to the speaker, a girl not much older than him. He chose not to reply, as the question seemed aimed at their apparent instructor.

Something else was setting in, the ominous and foreboding buildings in the distance gave little respite from her worries. In her training at the Academy of the Hidden Leaf she had learned her place as a shinobi under the guidance of her instructors. But when tasked with true responsibility she sought to prolong her inevitable duty to her home, and the Nation of Fire. This wore at her mind even more so as her peer remained silent at her comment. An aloof demeanor was something hard to pin upon Nyura Katawa, a visual strain in her eyes as she made contact with his own. He had seemed tired, or otherwise preoccupied in his mind the whole trip; one of the two whom were to receive their Genin trials today, of that much she knew. Nyura turned her head from a possible friend, a particular Hiyasu Shiori, to survey the others in their party for but a moment, then her sensai, and finally to the overlook. A pale blue gaze became fixated on the architecture, even from upon their rocky perch so far away, the dilapidated ruins sat waiting, a statuesque portrait. From the plateau they had a grand vantage point, and the cool breeze shifting her blonde locks astray set an ambient tone for their briefing. An uncanny smirk suddenly jerked upward upon her complexion as she thought to herself, City of Silent Ones? We'll fit right in...

Sleep was a convenience that Kaori had longed for. She was on the run from the Shrine Knights that pursued her for a 'ritual' to be performed. An inkling resonated in her mind that the ritual was some sort of sacrifice. Everything that she had done up to this point was to groom her into a sacrifice for the 'Great Dragon'. Her doubts on the existence of this 'Great Dragon' waned the more and more she learned of the world outside of the Shrine's walls. There were great people and different beliefs and the fact that the 'Great Dragon' was the ONLY deity worshiped by her clan and those that followed the teachings was flawed.

Shrine Knights pursued her night and day since she had went to the hospital to be 'fixed' from her battle with Shiori. It was as if they were waiting for her to exit to give chase. This was all a plot from her devious mother who valued strength and power over everything else. It was Kaori's belief that this ritual was only meant to make her mother more powerful by sacrificing her to the so called 'Great Dragon'. No, she had no intention of letting that happen, especially when she made a promise to Mina to become a Shinobi (a great one at that). She also desired to become a medic so no ill-fortune would befall another person like Mina and others wouldn't have to suffer for it. While her dreams are just that, she still had SOMETHING to strive for instead of running away to protect a life with no direction.

She made her way into the wasteland through the forest surrounding Konoha. It was probably for the best that her presence in the village remained scarce, but the best way for her to get stronger would be to take on more challenging missions such as this one. One that isn't just chasing down a mafia of cats lead by one bearing the Sharingan. No, something of this caliber would give her experience (good experience, mind you) of how a shinobi should be. She still had a lot to learn in the ways of the shinobi, but baby-steps are needed in order to get stronger.

Her eyes turned to look over the broken terrain. She found herself ascending a hill where Tamashii, her instructor from a class not-long-ago along with 2 others. One she recognized as Shiori and another person she had never met before. Walking up the hill towards the cliff, she ignored the passing welcomes from everyone else and looked over the cliff. The wind blew her clothing around as she saw the torn and fractured land beneath all of them. A land ravaged by war and a land that suffered from the sins of us humans. After taking it all in, she turned around to look at Shiori and smiled at him.

Her face was dirty and her clothes began to be ragged as if she was living on the streets for some time now without the convenience of a shower. It was true that she hadn't slept in a bed or cleaned herself (or her clothes) for a short while now due to being on-the-run. Sadly, this hostile territory was safer than being in the village right now. She waved to Shiori and the new person, Katawa before turning to look towards Tamashii. "Hello, Sensei," she simply stated before turning her head back down towards the devastated ruins that lay in the distance. She dismissed the scrolls for now. If they were important for this mission, Tamashii would certainly explain it.

After taking one final look at the ravaged land, she moved back down to Shiori's side and spoke to him. "Hey, we can do this, alright? Remember Tamashii's lesson," she said. Teamwork was the lesson that Tamashii gave during his lesson and his lesson was to warm them up for the exam he was to give. So the key-point would be teamwork in this lesson. He also mentioned something about not blindly following orders as well, but who knows if that will play any role in this mission/exam that they would be undertaking. Kaori turned her back down the cliff where she came from, waiting on the fourth person to arrive.

Ryuuichi had a lot on his mind during his travel to meeting point. He was the one with the most experience here. The others would look to him for guidance on this mission. They may not know it now but doing actual ninja work was very dangerous. Even the most calm and composed people could freak out from how scary a mission was. This was real. People could die, all of them could die. Ryuuichi wasn't so much worried about himself but instead the inexperienced ones he had with him. Perhaps they would be too reckless. Maybe too cocky and think they could do the mission on their own.

Ryuuichi was worried none of them would follow directions or what they were taught in the academy. The main focus being teamwork. If they could do this on their own why would they all be grouped together? Teamwork was essential and so was respect for each other. Was it too much to ask for everybody not to fight amongst themselves? If these few things were followed then the mission should go a bit more smoothly. It only gets harder when the team is fighting against itself.

When Ryuuichi arrived he looked over the other three for a moment. He didn't necessarily pay any kind to them for long as his attention towards Tama. "Hello Sensei, seems everybody is accounted for." Ryuuichi only nodded as looked at the bags. One could only assume there was four because there were four of them. However the scrolls were a bit interesting. Ryuuichi was wearing a dark blue trenchcoat that was buttoned up and had a small collar on it as well. All from his undershirt that could be seen was a dark colored turtleneck. Going with the trenchcoat he had on a pair of black pants and black boots.

Watching as each would arrive, one by one nodding to each. The sounds of the crunching ground beneath their feet... he smiled at this notion. They would learn very soon but it wouldnt matter all that much. They would know something fairly soon and with this idea he would take the stage as his personal student Ryuuichi would walk through the brush, nodding he was aware of three of the four here but this was definitely going to be a new experience for them, and they would likely be able to take this information with them for the rest of their shinobi lives, "Welcome Shinobi of The Fire Country... Welcome to the first day, of true shinobi-hood. This is a mission I collected from the Hokage Mansion as well as something I setup for an Exam... So what you are about to embark upon is real. This is the real deal. And if you mess up, you could lose your life..." though that was a bit extreme it was definitely not as bad as he made it out to be HOWEVER, their highest risk was getting knocked out by something they came across.

"So, before me are four bags of tools to be used on top of anything you have with you. Within are Collectively you all have Four Oil Flasks, Sixteen feet of Ninja Wire, Two Antidotes for the strongest poisons known, Some EMP grenades and other things I bought and packed for this mission for you all. But most importantly, There are four Headset pieces as well as a screen for you... Ryuu.", nodding again he would turn his attention to Ryuuichi, "You have the most valuable part of this mission... You will stay atop the cliff and you will guide your team across the various portions of the village. You will use this screen to move and coordinate the other three to their goal while also helping them dodge and giving them insight to traps that may be laid out there... Our intel hacked into the camera system this small village used... as well as around the buildings. Your leadership will make or break the team." nodding and then turning to the rest of them. "You may ask why there are four bags if he's not going there... Well inside your one of your bags is a teleportation scroll augmented with a Warping seal that links to a scroll inside Ryuu's bag. So he will be able to send extra materials if need be." nodding once again.

"Now... the mission is to infiltrate the empty village. Find out any clues on why its abandoned now... Any clues you find relay to Ryuu and deal with respectively... Also there has been word of some weird things down there so be careful. There can be shinobi or there can be something else going on down there... So, You have been warned. A mission success is when you figure out what is going on. As well as, where everyone went, If you exterminate said shinobi or whatever you find bring back their bodies to be processed.", ominous words for students who probably have not killed another human being.

"Finally these two scrolls are for you three... Kaori, Shiori, and...Katawa. These are maps of the known layout of the two sides of the village. You all are to use the best tact possible. Stealth is your best friend. So, use it the best way you can. The best chance to perform might help you move up through the ranks quicker..." nodding he would turn away from them looking down to the village once again. This would be interesting.

Ryuu showed up and it seemed that he would be the one in-charge of this mission. The guy who showed up late to the class was in-charge, which caused a bit of confusion within Kaori, trying to figure out the priority of how the upper ranks worked. Tamashii, the obviously ranking individual here, gave instructions about the mission and Kaori nodded a bit. With all that she's been going through now, she didn't have a fear of death and was actually quite numb to the idea for now. She had been on the run from the Shrine for long enough and dealt with people to the point where the fresh idea of death didn't seem to bother her at this juncture in life. She was still on-the-run from the Shrine, the group that wanted to use her in a ritual to revive their Dragon God by way of sacrifice. It was her fate to die to bring back a horror so why would something like 'dying in a mission' really bother her?

She had no intention of dying in this mission, not when she had the ability to alter her own fate. There was no way she was going to die when she had promises to fulfill first. There was a line-up of bags displayed before them, a group of bags that the three that were to do the dirty work would take. She looked over the bags for a moment before grabbing bag number 1. Bag number 3 would've been more ideal, but the ninja-wire might come in handy and she had a great idea on how to use it in the event that she (or her teammates) came across a group of shinobi. After choosing her bag, she rustled through it, displaying everything in the bag to take a mental inventory and figure out how she would intend on using it in the future. After taking a mental note on everything in the pouch, she packed it back up and threw it over her shoulder. Shortly afterwards, Kaori received the 2 maps given by Tamashii and gave the other one to Shiori, who she knew a lot more than she knew Katawa. If Shiori wanted to give the map to Katawa, that's his business.

Afterwards, she'd notice her teammates picking up their bags before turning to look towards Ryuu. She didn't really dislike the guy nor did she really like the guy. She was more confused on why someone who showed irresponsibility for showing up late to a class was given the go-ahead to being the leader of this little rag-tag group of shinobi and would-be shinobi in this dangerous mission. Essentially, their lives depended on him giving them accurate information and in a timely manner. If he screwed off and gave them bad information or late information, they could die. She had a few words for the man, but only gave him a little smile before fleeing back to her other teammates: Shiori and Katawa.

Before they took off or decided anything, she rummaged through her bag and grabbed the headset, placing it upon her head and turned it on. She did a quick mic-check, turning to look towards Ryuu and the rest of her teammates for confirmation that the microphone worked, transmitted a good sound, and everything was clear in return. Afterward, she put the bag back on her back, clasping it together to keep it from slipping off of her shoulders.

Due to Ryuu having a clear feed into the camera systems, Kaori turned to look towards and cleared her throat. "So, which way looks the clearest?" she asked requesting an update on whether east or west was the best way to tackle this. It was just then that a question popped into her head. She turned her head back towards Tamashii and fired away. "Does the intelligence know what -could- be down there? Any bandits or monsters we should be aware of?" she asked. While Tamashii did say there could be things down there, she wouldn't mind hearing about anything that was spotted within the abandoned city. Anything specific would work fantastically.

The potential for distaster remained, but she was confident that along the side of her new companions she'd be successful. There was little that stood in their way, atleast for the initial journey, and it seemed the trek down from their perch held nothing to worry about. Shuffling forward with a few strides, curiously tugging a bag ajar. Having no preferance on the extra equipment, she'd motion for the others to collect which they deemed worthy of their expertise. Once the party had settled in and each of them brandished their bags, Nyura began to pace towards the ransacked city bellow. Surveying the two students for a moment as they made sense of the maps, she'd purse her lips and hold her palm neatly on the grip of her sheathed shoto.

From the appearance it seemed one side of the town had been devestated by some form of tradgedy, and was scarse of life. The architecture was collapsed and showed signs of combat; various instruments of battle lay strewn into the walls and scattered through the dirt. The larger ones were visable from their altitude as the light reflected off them at certain angles. With no intention to lead the group into a trap, and mind set to the task at hand, she simply took in the enviornment and focused her eyes on the other side of town. It seemed maintained, but only to a minimal degree. They'd have to draw closer to know more, that's for certain. But she intended to report in as soon as they learned of the the situation inside of the City of Silent Ones.

“Of course we can. Soon enough, we will be Genin, I'm sure.” Shiori smiled at Kaori, twisting his ring around his finger as he did so.

“...Lose your life.”

The words brought Shiori back to attention. The possibility of death in an exam? This was the real deal. He would have to focus. Make sure he worked as a member of the team. He couldn’t die here, not so soon on his journey.

They would need to find out about the story of the silent village below. It was certainly an ominous place. Ryuu would have to collate and make sense of the information, he supposed, as the group would likely have to split up to move through the village in a timely manner. Though that would leave them vulnerable to whatever may still be down there… a tough choice to make, for sure.

bodies for processing?

An odd statement. They may have to kill to ensure the success of the mission. Oddly, as Shiori fingered his ring, he felt calm about that. If they had to move aside so he could advance, he had no worries about that. A fight would be good, anyway. He had been training since his class, and he wanted to push himself even further.

Before grabbing his bag, Shiori looked over at Ryuu. It seems he would be their leader. He was the genin in the class that he and Kaori had taken with Tamashii before this exam. As he was already a Genin, it made sense for him to lead the mission. He would have actual field experience. He hoped the boy would keep an eye on the ball. His actions could make or break them.

He stepped forward, grabbing the third backpack [#3], inspecting the items within. The soldier pills could come in handy if there was any tough going. The oil flasks were an odd choice, but he saw Kaori going through her bag, and some slips of paper caught his eye.

“Hey, we can use my oil with those explosives to clear a larger area if needed.” He offered, showing the jar before putting it back into the bag.

He pulled out the headset, checking it was all working properly. With that done, he pulled on the backpack, before Kaori handed him a scroll. It seemed that the scrolls Tamashii had been holding onto were maps of the surrounding area.

“Thanks. Hey, do you nee-”

He turned to offer the map to their third, but she was walking away. He shrugged, she was an odd one, very quiet and reserved. Might not be the best for teamwork. He opened his own map, reading it. As he took in the layout, he noticed something. Ryuu didn’t have a map. Sure, he would have a screen to view them through CCTV, but he would need context for their positions. He rolled the map back up, offering it to the genin.

“Here. That way we can work out our positions more easily.”

Ryuuichi only continued to listen silently as his sensei explained the mission. Only one question came to mind but Ryuuichi waited until he finished. When the boy strolled up to pick up his bag he decided to pop his question. "So, am I able to to teleport myself in case of any emergencies? Ryuuichi didn't doubt their abilities however it was a mission and anything could happen. If something happened he would need to be there for them.

As his pack had been explained Ryuuichi simply slung it around his shoulder and took the map that was handed to him. "Ah, thank you." He nodded to the boy and took the map as he looked at the faces of those that would follow his command. He'd see them all again shortly at the end of the mission. There would be no casualties. Soon enough he was asked a question. Which way to go? A rather simple question. "Well, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west so... go in from the east."

With that everything should be laid out for them. Enter from the East and from hat was said about the mission, explore. Hopefully the squirts could do at least that.

As they would set down Tamashii would hand the scrolls to Kaori and smile. She was the unofficial leader of this mission in his eyes. She followed orders to a tee. Shiori was another one he looked at with great pride. They both would go on to have some extremely influential shinobi careers... even Hokage worthy. At any pace Ryuuichi would ask the question he would allow them to hear before leaving, "Well, That would take both scrolls. So if they send something over... You wont be able to go. But if YOU go yo cant bring anything with you. So its more of something if you can coordinate them well enough they shouldnt need anything." handing Ryuu the handheld and headset he would begin to be able to link up through the headsets. Tama would then vanish, leaving Ryuu there with his camera, almost like a five nights at freddy's setup. He could see them out there heading to the east side of the village.

"~//~Alright Team. I will not be holding your hand during this... I am only going to watch and I will be there to see you at the Mission's End.~//~" with that the radio would stop chiming in and would go silent. As the group approached the village they would find a deep dense fog around the village itself. Kaori would be able to see the map of the village at this point all of them would have headsets, aside from Nyura who didnt take a backpack. Ryuu would be able to check the buildings to see what was around the area. Though, Building 10's camera would be offline. Fuzzed out but the microphone still happened to work... Who knew what this day would hold.

[OOC: Alright, with your posts I will need tl;dr OOC posts with specific actions you take during the mission. Using jutsu and such will have to amount to a total of 3 ap per round for all participants. So for the east village... You are entering from the east towards the front of the gate. It is open.]

[OOC2: I encourage you to speak to one another on Discord about what you will be doing to help coordinate and such. ^_^ Though if you wish to go rouge by all means and go gung-ho ^^;;]

The word 'baka' flew through her head as the information given by Ryuu was delivered in such a strange manner. Without even looking at the intelligence, the boy just blindly gave them the direction to go. She simply stared at him for a moment before pulling out the map, holding it in both hands,
and started her approach towards the east. The terrain was rocky and uneven, requiring her to go over the terrain in a slow and precise manner. The last thing she wanted to do was fail out of the mission due to having a sprained ankle before arriving to the mission area. She put the map back into the bag and started down the terrain, keeping the chatter on the comms clear for now. It wasn't wise to clutter up the voice channel for random banter. As much as she wanted to say things about their mission coordinator, she kept her yap shut.

There was a heavy fog looming through this entrance, making visual detection extremely difficult. While the trio might have issues navigating through this fog, if there were other shinobi here, they'd have the same issue. Before approaching the boundary of the fog, she took a knee and pulled out the map,
trying to memorize the location of the buildings. "Group up here," she said as she tried to keep a low profile right at the fog-line.
She looked over the map to notice the entrance into the village. If there were shinobi here, that entrance would be heavily guarded.

"The entrance might be fortified if there were shinobi here, so we'll have to scale the walls," she said quietly. Ryuu could hear them through the comms due to their microphones being constantly on hotmic. "If we enter through the village, I suggest we scale the wall here," she said as she pointed to the wall just in front of building 12. "Once we scale the wall, we can easily go into building 12 and possibly ambush anyone guarding that door. But we'll have to have some eyes inside the building to know what we are dealing with. That's where i come in," she said as she closed her eyes for a moment only for the Ryuugan (Byakkugan) to activate.

"You guys ready? We HAVE to go together," she continued with her whisper, waiting for the rest of the group to come to an agreement, or even come up with another plan. It was a bit hasty for them to jump into the mission area without coming up with a plan, but that was the nature of the assignment they were given.

[TLDR]
1: Kaori descended down going East
2: Kaori stopped at the fog-line to organize the plan.
3: Kaori planned to ascend the wall in front of building 12 and to enter building 12
4: The main entrance to the village might be rigged with people or traps, that's why going up the wall is important.
5: Activates Byakkugan r2
6: Waits for everyone else.

Ryuu seemed to be thinking outside the box, using the supporting teleport scrolls to move himself in if needed. Shiori supposed he should begin making use of lateral thinking as well. He thought of the brief glance he had given the map.

Tamashii then let them know they were truly alone. He supposed there was no better test for the academy students than their own mission. They would be operating without a safety net in the field, he would have to become used to that. If he wanted to be the best, he would need to work alone often. Here, he was with a team, and he needed to push himself to think as a team member, rather than a glory hound.

Kaori had slotted herself into the role of field commander. He had no issue with that, for now. He knew and trusted her judgement. Ryuu had given the order to move in from the East. He supposed it meant the sun was behind them on their entry, making infiltration easier. He focussed on getting his mindset correct for this mission. This wasn’t about the individual glory, becoming the best. This was suffering the teamwork to ascend another rung on the ladder.

He followed Kaori to the fog line. He looked over her shoulder as she regarded their map. Even through the dampening of the fog, he could hear the calming babbling of a river. He liked the sound. He didn’t get to hear it much in Konoha, back on the island, he would go down to the beach to listen to the sea.

Shiori snapped back to focus as she rolled up the map. It seemed Kaori had a plan. He looked up at the wall, thinking about it’s thickness. It seemed a little formidable, but his own little plan formed in his mind. Kaori had activated those eyes of hers, obviously planning on using them to add to the picture that Ryuu’s camera feeds gave the team. Shiori stopped fiddling with his ring, leaving it firmly in place on his hand. He smiled a little to himself.

“Sounds good, but I don’t need to scale it.”

He closed his eyes, visualising a point further forward, beyond the wall, and began tapping into his unique powers, bending reality to his will. He thought of simply stepping to that point as one would cross a small stream. He was ready, waiting only for the signal.

“I’m ready when you guys are.”

TLDR
-Follows Kaori to the village. Agrees with the plan.
-Equips ring.
-To use quicksilver step (R2) to end up on the inside of the walls when the others begin to scale.

Her general demeanor was lack luster, and the weight of the past still pried at her mind and kept her thoughts ajar. Shifting alongside her companions down and along the path, her hand held ready at the grip of her shōtō, constantly eyeing their surroundings to ensure they were not in any immediate danger. Upon arriving within the general vicinity and receiving a short bit of advice from Ryuuichi over their headsets, their group gathered together for a moment at the command of one of the students, Kaori Tenkawa. Her evaluation of the situation was keen, and her Byakkugan was definitely an asset for the role she intended to take upon herself. Their initial arrival over the rocky surfaces and to the walls proved to be a challenge, but one that only was presented as so due to the necessity to remain undetected. The majority of her training up until this point had been focused around the channeling of chakra and the different nature chakra changes that a shinobi was capable of achieving; with this being said, it made her mobility across the sheer surfaces much easier as she focused her energy to the soles of her feet to keep an infused grip in each step.

"Group up here,"
"The entrance might be fortified if there were shinobi here, so we'll have to scale the walls; If we enter through the village, I suggest we scale the wall here..."
"Once we scale the wall, we can easily go into building 12 and possibly ambush anyone guarding that door. But we'll have to have some eyes inside the building to know what we are dealing with. That's where I come in..."

“I’m ready when you guys are.”

After several long minutes she arrived alongside Shiori, who appeared to be showing off to ensure he received his recommendation to become a Genin within the main branch of Konoha. Letting out a prolonged sigh, Nyura shuffled quietly to the wall and extended her left hand outward to place it against the surface. Hitching her primary arm outward she'd retrieve her blade from its sheathe in a slow motion, as to muffle the audible ring of steel. Turning her head to her companion nearby, whom seemed to have his eyes closed, Nyura smirked and held the button of her headset for just a few moments as to ensure it is heard by her companion on the other end of the line.

Sera walked up to where Tamashii was standing as she glanced at the man, it was clear that he had everything under control at that moment. Though what could be said was the exam group had stopped having their hand held, it was obvious that much. But at least they seemed to understand team work. Stepping up she stood next to Tamashii and looked to where the exam was taking place, realising this was very much a no hand holding exam.

“Well at least they can get on well with each other, sorry for the surprise Tamashii. I was sent by Takeshi to oversee any future candidates for the ANBU Branch. And see what the crack was with this situation.”

Sera would just observe the moments of the group, it seemed they had finally advanced into the fog, the rest was up to them. Each building to check, each surprise that would be lingering around the corner. It was all up to them. As the group, advanced forward and into the actual town it would become obvious that it was a ghost town. It was clear that this place had become deserted at that time, though unsure of what would be taking place.

As Kaori entered building twelve that is when surprises would start to take place. As they entered the building when it was checked, they would find it empty. Tables knocked over, food thrown over the floor, almost as if a rush had taken place here. That no-one had been around for a while. It was deserted and it would seem in a hurry. If they choice to check upstairs the bed would be in the same condition. Ruffled, quilts thrown across the floor, everything in what would be considered a ruined state.

Shiori and Katawa were ready. She cleared her throat silently and held up 3 fingers, mouthing out the word 'three', then two, then one, and then closed her fists. It was their time to scale the wall, or in Shiori's case to phase right through it, and after quietly scaling the wall, she encountered the opening to Building 12. She couldn't see any chakra signatures around the building so she walked up towards the door and reached for it only to realize that the door was swung wide open. This made questions build up within her head. Something seemed very strange and very off about this. People wouldn't normally leave things in a hurry, as things were tossed around the first floor as if to quickly evacuate. She turned to Katawa and Shiori, pointing towards the stairs going up. She pointed to herself and then pointed at the other two to stay behind and potentially look for clues or even people.

She tried to keep low and took her ascent up the stairs as slowly as possible. If there really were people here, she didn't want to give away their presence. She slowly ascended the stairs only to see the bed tossed around, as if someone just woke up in a hurry. She tapped her ears and stood up straight. "Building 12 is clear. There is no sign of life in this building. It's like they quickly evacuated this place. It's a bit creepy," she said, hoping Ryuu would respond. She slapped the headset a couple times, hoping she actually transmitted to Ryuu. Her voice came in clear-as-day to Katawa and Shiori, but there didn't seem to be a response from Ryuu.

She looked around the room for a moment seeing if she noticed anything out of the ordinary before moving down the stairs and looking back towards the duo she left behind. "This is weird," she commented before taking a knee, removing the bag from her shoulders and pulled out the map. She spread it out so the others could so. "We're right here. Building 12. It's clear. So I suggest we head north, over the bridge before we go any where else," she said. She figured that a place like the armory would also house some equipment and could act as a stash of some sort for any settlers who decided to take refuge here.

She rolled up the map after letting people look at it for a moment and put it back in her bag which was then sealed and placed back over her shoulders. "I don't think Ryuu is answering the comms either, so I think we might be alone out here. Before we head off to Building 11, let me scope it out to see if there are anyone hanging out around the building. Gimme a sec," she said as she walked back up the stairs and looked out a window, one that was pointed in the direction of Building 11 and kept a low profile, just letting her head poke out from the window. She tried to use her Ryuugan (Byakkugan) to see if there were any chakra signatures around Building 11. Well, all she could see was the front face of the building and potentially anything near the front-half of the sides.

[TLDR]
1: Entered Building 12 -- Didn't see squat
2: Went upstairs -- Didn't see squat
3: Grows suspicious and came up to a conclusion that people quickly evacuated due to the sudden mess in the place and how 'rushed' everything looked.
4: Made a plan, herself, to go to Building 11 -- Told rest of group -- still open for other ideas
5: Went upstairs to find a window facing Building 11
6: Looked out window to see if she could see chakra signatures through the dense fog as a form of reconnaissance

Nyura always held herself in high regard despite her low social standing within the village. She was an orphan after all, and this was an opportunity to express her abilities she had accumulated in her training at the academy. As an entry level Genin with a plethora of chakra at her disposal, this first task was simple and perhaps even trivial. Drawing a hand upward to transfer her physical essence to her feet, her shōtō still clutched in her other hand she'd listen intently for what seemed like ages at the foot of the wall; the eerie silence of the village beyond it was ominous and put her on edge before ever crossing the tasked obstacle. Taking in a deep inhalation through her nose, holding her breath as the voice chirped to life on the other side of the headset, she'd exhale with a momentary flare of her nostrils. Turning her head upward and keeping the hand sign active she'd drive her momentum up onto the stone barrier, a slight smirk etching over her lips as she'd peer over her shoulder down at the student bellow, Shiori, who was likely lagging behind. Oddly though, he'd be out of sight for a brief time as she turned her head to the task at hand and drove her figure up to the top of the embankment. Shuffling along it with a low posture, she'd survey the terrain around her and find that the place seemed deserted.
scene17a.png
It was a foreboding scene, fraught with mysteries and missing puzzle pieces. The weapons she had sighted from the ridge prior to investigating still proved to be evident, littered across the cobblestone villa and caught into walls. Perhaps this place had been ransacked in the past, the residents killed-- but by whom? Nyura threw aside these qualms and quickly gathered down bellow beside her companions, both Shiori and Kaori. Turning her crystal blue eyes in their direction with a serious expression she'd watch as they proceed forward, wavering near the back with her blade ready and a gloved hand extended half-an-arms length from her body, ready to signal hand signs at a moments notice and draw upon her available chakra. This was something she had practiced long and hard for, and she intended to shine bright. As she'd draw into the main entrance of "Building Twelve", her posture shifted as the soft humming of the wind passing over the open jars and jugs outside, her back placed to her allies as she'd secure their flank.

Lingering in the 'lobby' of the building, or perhaps the living room she'd remain vigilant in her stance. It was not her intention to allow these Genin-to-be to fail their exam due to her incompetence. Parting her lips for a moment as their group split up temporarily in the abandoned interior, Nyura spoke in a soft tone as to not alert any excessive attention. "Place looks deserted-- you two head up stairs..." She suggested to Shiori with a soft nod of acceptance before promptly pointing her blade towards the entryway, and soon after to a few architectural failures that left the building ajar after some form of catastrophe. "...I've got down here covered." Her voice reflected a certain feeling of intrigue at the sudden disappearance of this homes inhabitants; though she did not wish to come to conclusions to quickly.

After the others had proceeded with their actions it was Kaori's time to shine once again, visually assessing the situation beyond the bridge they intended to cross. Likely there was some form of trap laid for them, or else why send a handful of children to an abandoned town? To set a tone? To instill fear? No... This was to test their individual skills, as well as their abilities to cooperate with their team mates. It seemed this was not an issue thus far, and she prayed it would not degrade under a stressful scenario. The Byakuugan was something to be admired, it's feats were refined and true. She envied it for but a moment as she awaited a response on her investigation; still ready and alert. "Seems clear thus far, what do you see?"

The others scaled over the fortified walls of the village, using Chakra to make the task relatively simple. Shiori could move even more quickly, though. His power unleashed, he stepped forward, disappearing. He seemingly stepped out of thin air on the other side, ready and waiting for the pair that were scrabbling over the obstacle. He smiled at them as they landed beside him.

Kaori took the lead again, the team forming naturally into the pattern. Kaori paused at the door, simply batting it open. Very odd, for it to be unlocked. People normally kept their doors locked, even when inside their houses. You wouldn’t want any Tom, Dick or Harry walking on in at any time.

As they entered, there were obvious signs of a hurried exit. Belongings were strewn everywhere. Only the important items must be gone, Shiori surmised, seeing a lot of clothes dotted about. Shiori picked up a shirt, feeling the fine weave between his fingers. These were people of some means, it seemed. Kaori was motioning that she was going up to inspect the top floor of the house. That left the bottom floor to Katawa and Shiori. There must be no one in, Kaori would have said something. It made sense then to split up, they could cover ground more quickly.

He wandered into the kitchen, finding a meal halfway prepared. Why would people leave a nice meal in such a hurry? Curiouser and curiouser. As he rifled through drawers, Katawa spoke up again.

"Place looks deserted-- you two head up stairs..."

Shiori was about to agree, there didn’t seem to be much here anyway, but Kaori was already coming down the stairs. Seems there was nothing up there either. Shame. He had wanted something more than an abandoned house. The whole village was empty, the only tantalising clue was that this home had been left in a hurry. That didn’t narrow things down enough. He needed more.

Kaori was pulling out the map again, so Shiori hunkered down to get a good look at their next location.

"We're right here. Building 12. It's clear. So I suggest we head north, over the bridge before we go any where else,"

The assessment seemed fair to Shiori. The building to the North was the closest, so it would be easy to get to, and mean less doubling back.

“Sounds good. An Armoury might be a good place to take refuge, seeing as these people were obviously in a hurry. There could be more clues there.”

Kaori’s Ryuugan was proving invaluable in this mission. The extrasensory power it provided was perfect for ensuring the safest course of action. Shiori was getting a little impatient, though. Slow and steady may win the race, but it wasn’t as thrilling.

“If it’s clear, I can get in the same way I got into the village.” Shiori offered.
