ANBU application:
As a young girl that had grown up far away from the influence of society, under the wings of a loner she had often teasingly called a hermit, Senka knew nothing of the ways of the city. While Kurogane had taken her to civilian villages before, those were usually only a loose collection of houses with an open space in the middle, pretentiously referred to as a marketplace, featuring as many stands as there were educated people in a surrounding area of many days of travelling. Thus, when she first entered the village hidden in the clouds, she was overwhelmed by the number of people on the streets.
"And here I thought a Ninja village would be devoid of people. They are supposed to be stealthy," Senka commented, her voice slightly muffled by the surgical mask she wore, her words earning a troubled glance from Kurogane. "Or so you told me, Oji-san."
Indeed, he had been asked to return to the Ninja world, considering he was no longer affiliated with the Leaf, and scouted by an old friend from the Cloud. The fact that Senka was taken along could be seen as a bonus, in one way or another.
"I also thought they wouldn't just allow anyone into the village without the right documents. Surely, you didn't have a Cloud passport. I know I don't. How did we get in?" She continued, still in ear-shot of the gate guards. Kurogane shot her a glance that implored her to stop talking, a hint rarely understood and even less frequently taken by Senka, mostly due to the fact that his eyes were almost constantly closed. Truthfully, she was well aware of the inadequate timings her uncalled-for comments had, but that was the sole reason she even made them.
Ironically, this resulted in her being considered an observant girl by many, which, coupled with her innate curiosity and confidence, despite the scars all across her body, most of which were on plain display due to the choice of clothes she wore, earned her the attention of people in positions of confidentiality. It probably also helped that she was interested in everybody's secrets and strangely had a way to learn of them by employing cynicism and sarcasm, well-veiled by flattery and idle gossip. Whenever she chose to veil them that was.
Kurogane had entered Senka as a Chuunin level when they moved to Cloud, which had miraculously been accepted by the immigration authorities. Therefore, she did not need to share classes with children that appeared to be of the same age as her. When those people of confidentiality conducted a background check, they found neither any incriminating information, nor much information about her at all. Strangely enough, it was accepted as the truth, leading to a clean slate for her start into Ninja life.
Furthermore, Senka had applied to the Anbu branch on her own accord, which was ultimately received in a favorable manner. On one side, she really liked to gather information on whatever she got her hands on, on the other side she wanted to use the techniques of the Anbu to create a mask for herself which could display a mouth on top of her surgical mask, matching lip movements and a permeable material for food and drinks included. Actually, the latter was the greater reason for her choice, but that was something nobody should ever learn about.
Within only a single year Senka was promoted to sentinel within the Anbu branch, as she expressed her wish to never leave the village unless Kurogane was with her. The fact that he did not become an Anbu worked unfavorably for her to ever be deployed outside, resulting in her becoming an overseer for the village borders and the citizens within. She found that it was her calling to spy on those she had vowed to protect and report even the least significant occurrences to her superiors in detail, until they allowed her to use a storage room for her purposes, in which she piled up files after files, one day to be used to indict those who had fallen out of favor.
