It was long over-due. All things considered it was also entirely expected with how much he had been working in the Academy, being a participant in the tournament preliminaries, aiding in specialized tutors, acting as a psuedo-therapist for some and a torturer of others; all in all, it had started to show signs of wear on the young-Chūnin over the years. Nearing his latest birthday, and realization that he was finding himself exceedingly more exhausted than he usually was. Plans began to be devised and submitted to his superiors; with a request of leave of absence to take a break and in turn focus on himself for a little while.
It was then that when he received word back from the superior-seated members of the Main-Branch; notably Saeko who had taken hold of his request and reviewed it, was granted the request of leave. Both with great intrigue and anxiety, Shieo found himself packing for a trip that he had somewhat been formulating over the past year with little confidence in whether he would actually be going on it or not. Yet here he was, packing lightly but comfortably; re-evaluating his belongings he was sure to bring a tent, canteen, some mission rations, a fishing rod and some changes of clothes and weather clothing, a bundle of rope and a flashlight; beyond that he was to to rely on himself and the wild to serve and provide to him.
Given his past expeditions it wouldn't be too far off from those, however it was established this was to be significantly longer of a trek; and into lands he had never really explored beyond the simplicity of texts, which were known for embellishing things quite a bit to begin with.
Later that day, Shieo found himself at the booth for signing in and checking-out, with his passport in hand and ready to depart. The dour-eyed man gave a furtive glance at the village afore he took his place in-front of the booth, handing the attendant his passport. "Name?"
"Ariho, Shieo; departing on leave by Saeko's approval on behalf of the Main-Branch Sennin."
