Shinobi 101: Kinetic Genjutsu uses Melee Accuracy
Miraku always had a knack for all three categories of Jutsu; Nin, Tai, and Gen. But like most people, he excelled in some more than others. His greatest strength of the three was his Taijutsu due to his physical training, with Nin not far behind due to lots of practice and good use of chakra. His Genjutsu was the worst of the three, as he found it difficult to apply these Jutsu's to certain senses of a human being. In order for him to properly get the hang of using Genjutsu, he focused all his efforts on one sense: Kinetic. Due to it being the sense of one's perception of touch, he found it easier to manipulate this by making a physical connection to the target himself through his own touch.

Sentinel
Due to intense training within the ANBU, along the hunting skills acquired from both surviving in the wild of Water Country on his travels and training with Okuro and the man hunting training within the ANBU Miraku had become quite adept at hunting down shinobi. These skills accompanied by the vast knowledge of the surroundings of the village, it's gates and the area around them, led to the man being able to have a significant advantage over those who would be foolish enough to attempt to become a missing nin from Kumogakure. This also included anyone else who would attempt to force their way in or out of the village for any other reason.
WC: 114
Wind - Chakra Style
Although Miraku was not particularly adept with Wind Jutsu, he could obviously see the advantages of it for a person who fought in melee a lot as it contained properties which would be advantageous to buffing Taijutsu as well as aiding one in using the wind to enhance their bodies capabilities. One could use the wind to help move their body even quicker than their regular muscles and reactions would allow for, and increase their ability to dodge and attack. Of course, to Miraku, using such a style of fighting would be most helpful defensively as he figured it would be quite good at improving his already impressive speed.
WC: 109
Defensive Technique
With Miraku's fighting style, he preferred to observe his enemies fighting styles and determine ways to counter them, and give himself advantages. With this observation, he required himself to play out his combat more defensively in order to remove his openings and focus purely on creating strategies rather than being offensive himself, at least until he was ready to strike. Due to these requirements, he had become quite good at staying on the defensive, minimizing the downsides while maximizing his defensive capabilities and ability to dodge incoming attacks which posed a threat to him. Not having the added pressure of trying to be on the offensive and defensive at the same time allowed for more thinking room.
WC: 117
Duelist
As someone who wasn't particularly good at using attacks which targeted multiple people at once, Miraku focused his fighting abilities more towards reading his opponents, and focusing down proper targets first to give him better advantages later into fights if he ever had to fight a group, which also improved his ability to fight one-on-one as he became used to focusing a single target in most fights. This focus led to him being able to keep a target in his sights, and also push himself harder against one person. But this practice also had it's downfalls against multiple targets as it left him slightly more open to him, but in his mind, he felt he had enough skills in other places to make up for these slight shortcomings with this particular style of focus.
WC: 134
Mind Overflow
Since Miraku only focused on one sense of Genjutsu -- Kinetic, and due to it involving the perception of the sense of touch, this made it so he was able to take advantage of the strong connection to this one sense. With that he was able to increase the mental strain it would put on a person when it came to all other attacks they would receive from him. Like a kind of mental overload, the sensations of feeling would be increased to levels which would cause his attacks damage to feel like they had done even more damage to them, which became real due to the stress it caused the target's mind. This was something Miraku had put a lot of work into as he wanted to receive even more benefit from the hard work he had put into becoming more adept with Kinetic Genjutsu.
WC: 145
Willpower
Along with the intense training he had put into his Genjutsu training with Okuro and in the ANBU, he had put a lot of effort into defending himself against such attacks. Since as a whole, he wasn't quite on par when it came to Genjutsu, he realized it was something he definitely needed to work on defending against, as it wasn't something his natural speed could help him avoid like it would against Nin or Taijutsu. With this in mind,
he worked towards breaking himself free of stronger Genjutsu through the strength of his determination and will. This training included a lot of meditation and self-reflection to get a proper sense of himself and work towards being able to return his mind back to that place through the use of chakra as well as the regular Cancel Jutsu that most shinobi knew.
WC: 142
Quick Reaction
Through his quick speed and his continued training of his defensive fighting style and strategic mind, Miraku was able to take advantage of situations most people couldn't in a short period of time. It was one thing to recognize openings when in combat and avoiding attacks, but it was another to recognize them and manage to take advantage of them mid fight before the opponent could correct their mistake and close such an opening. Due to his enhanced reactions and speed, Miraku was able to to make use of such openings whenever he dodged an opponent, as long as he was able to think of what kind of counter attack he should be making before the opportunity closed.
WC: 118
Weapon Mastery - Unarmed
Since Miraku mainly stuck to his main weapon which was an unarmed weapon, with a trick weapon slashing extension to it, turning his grip into a dagger pretty much, the versatility meant he was able to use it in pretty much all situations. Not needing to switch weapons often meant he had grown accustomed to every aspect of his weapon, and the fighting style that accompanied it. It felt like it was part of him, not even noticing it was in his hand most of the time. Even when he wasn't using it in combat, he would fidget with it, holding it, spinning it in his palm, etc. It just felt like a natural extension of himself, and as such, he found it quite easy to use Taijutsu with it, allowing him to use them even more efficiently once in a while than he would with another weapon.
WC: 148
Quickdraw
With his quick speed in general, increased reactions and overall mastery over his weapons, Miraku was very quick at pulling these weapons out whenever he needed to. Whether it be in combat, training or practice, he always tried his best to be as quick as possible, and readying his weapon was no exception. It was something which he practiced quite often since he was never really without at least his main weapons. Readying himself at the beginning of a battle quickly was quite important to Miraku as the extra time it gave him, was time which he could use to analyze his opponent, their gear or stance and whatever else he could notice about them by observing them once he was ready to fight.
WC: 124
Called Shot
ANBU training taught members a lot about the human body and its anatomy. Along with this came the information on critical points one should attack a shinobi in order to reduce their fighting capabilities. They were obvious spots that any shinobi could target, but the extra knowledge Miraku had gained meant that he was able to more precisely attack such spots as well as cause more damage to them by attacking them in the right way and correct positions. Miraku found this technique particularly useful as it allowed him to take away his opponents advantages once he was able to observe what they were and if taking the time to target them would be needed to give him enough of an advantage.
WC: 122
Initiative
Quick thinking, observation and his ability to learn on the fly seemed to lead to Miraku being able to always start before most people. His ability to take the initiative and make the first move, or multiple moves quicker than others meant he was able to have more time to think and develop strategies. This trend seemed to follow with a lot of his skills, as he liked to lean towards his strengths instead of trying to buff up his weaknesses too much. His ability to act first was no different as it used his speed and all things previously mentioned in order to gain even just the slightest advantage over his opponents.
WC: 113
Healing Factor
Being the type of person who usually fought on his own, Miraku needed to be able to take care of himself. He wasn't a med-nin, so healing himself was quite important for those few times he managed to get injured, or whenever he would take a hit in a fight. He had gone out of his way to learn a few basic medical Ninjutsu, but he wanted more than that. Through his many training sessions, as well as his defensive nature, he found it easier to rest while in combat, allowing him to passively recover while still within a fight, not always needing to use a medical Jutsu in order to heal himself. This certainly came in handy any time a fight was too fast paced or had too few openings to use a healing Jutsu so that he could maintain his lead in a fight and recover while stopping others from healing themselves.
WC: 154
Weapon Attunement
Miraku's specialty being Taijutsu meant that he was always using a weapon. Using them just came naturally, and meant that he always had an advantage using them rather than fighting without them. He also seemed to be able to use them better than most people; whether that came from his extended use of them, learning exactly how they worked, or he was just naturally gifted with using weapons due to his ability to adapt so quickly that he became proficient with them in almost no time. It let him bring the best out of any weapon he used and meant that he negated some of their weaknesses and improved their strengths through the unique usage of them.
