Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Standing at the gates to the village, tapping his foot impatiently, Seirei looks around for the children he's supposed to be escorting out into the forest for their mission. Why they were allowing academy students out on a mission so dangerous, he hadn't a clue. Sure, they were soon to have their exam and graduate. But still, they were just kids! Sighing, he leans back against the gate and shifts so that he is standing in the shade. Thankfully, neither of these boys were Satsu's son. Seirei wasn't sure that he could handle being around him; the guilt that he felt was overwhelming and kept him awake most of the time. That was neither here nor there, though. Shoving the thoughts from his mind, he pushes off from the gate and starts walking towards the two figures he sees approaching eagerly.

"Hey! You two, over here. You must be the kids I'm escorting on the job today. I'm the Chūnin assigned to watch over you and make sure that nothing goes wrong. You may address me as Seirei-sensei or simply as Sensei. I'm not here to hold your hands; you apparently have proven yourselves capable of undertaking a mission such as this before graduating, which is a big deal. So stick by my side, listen to what I say, and things will be fine. I'll make sure that you kids make it out alive. Do you understand me? Stopping for a moment to allow the boys an opportunity to ask any questions, he will answer them before turning and walking towards the gates. Nodding to the guards, he points off to the east and looks over his shoulder at Akio and Keniwa. "Last report had the rogues out that way, so that's where we're going to start our search. Keep a step behind me so that I can cover you if anything goes wrong. We're not going sightseeing. This is a serious and potentially deadly job, so keep your eyes and ears open. Now let's go."

Akio bounded towards the gates with the usual bounce in his step. He was looking forward to meeting this new contact and the man who would be traveling with he and Keniwa on one of their first higher-rank missions. While it was true that they were still both young and hadn't graduated from the shinobi academy, both Akio and Keni were more experienced and talented than many of the genin and even some of the lower-ranked chuunin that inhabited the Village Hidden in Leaves. The prospect of his first real mission outside the gates was anxiety-inspiring, but Akio kept his composure and in fact his eagerness was more a result of his excitement than it was nerves. Jogging up, he noticed the man who was waiting for he and Keniwa to arrive. He looked a bit pensive, which was understandable considering he was tasked with being responsible for the childrens' safety. However, given their relative lack of experience in the field, it was likely he didn't know the depths of the pair's talent compared to your average Konoha Academy student.

The sunny Senju waved to Seirei as he approached, that same characteristically bright smile adorning his face as Keni joined the two and he listened to the man's opening statements. "Don't worry Seirei-san. Deadly or not, I'll make sure to keep us all safe and healthy." Akio said with confidence. The amount of training he'd recently undergone when it came to barrier jutsu and shinobi medical techniques was certainly not something to scoff at, and he was more than ready to put them to the test. After all, if he wanted to be the kind of ninja that his friends and allies could rely on, he'd have to prove it in real life situations. "So, what's these forest rogues' deal anyway? They just simple thieves?" The nature-loving adolescent asked as they set out, making sure to keep his ears and eyes open. The boy had seen the sights and listened to the sounds of this forest countless times as he grew up, and he knew what it was supposed to feel like, confident in his ability to notice if there was something amiss within the protective canopy of these woods.

After the last mission that Keniwa had been on he wasn't sure of how it's outcome would be, this time however he was with Akio. Someone far less reckless and out for blood, whilst Shusuke was strong for his age he was still a child. The young body couldn't believe what had happened to his friend Kiri's arm and ever since their fight things had just been immense. At least he had Akio he could count on no matter what he knew he'd be a ball of sunshine, and he was definitely a capable partner to have with him on their mission. However he'd never worked with a Chuunin before in an official setting, curious to see the power which they behold and their skills perhaps he could learn a thing or two from them.

Spotting his friend Akio as he caught up to the two perhaps running slightly late, Keniwa would smile and wave, he wasn't really nervous more curious what would happen, he felt a lot more experienced and was with people he could count on. "Hello Akio and Seirei Sensei I look forward to working with you. I'll do my best to help protect you guys and secure the mission is a success. I trust you to will do the same, No I know you will." Giving an affirmative nod at the both of them, whilst clenching fists with determination, almost wanting to pump them up. His defensive capabilities had risen to new heights and with his deeper understanding of what it truly meant to be a Kyoujouran he was feeling almost a decent bit confident. Turning over to Akio with a knowing stare he would quietly say to Akio "These are the people who stole Kiri's arm from him. I personally want to make sure they get what is coming." Hoping Akio would have a similar answer to Keniwa he would wait in reply hoping that could avenge him in some way. Despite what happened being mostly out of his control he still felt guilt.

Seirei led the students off into the forest, setting a steady pace as he gave them a rundown of the situation at hand. It seems that these bandits have already attacked the village once before, and got away with some petty cash. So they shouldn't be too dangerous, but still, be on your guard. Rumor has it they are the Redcoat Thieves. You've fought against them before, right, Kinewa? I heard that you were there with Satsu's son, Koriyimo. He got injured pretty badly, didn't he? Make sure that you don't let your guard down and allow that to happen again. As for you, Akoi. I hear that you have some experience with medical jutsu, so you're going to be focusing on recovery if we need that. Is all of that understood?"

Without pausing for an answer, Seirei turns back to face the forest ahead of him, jaw set. How dare they send children out on a mission as vital and dangerous as this? Satsu's son had lost an arm to bandits inside the village, who knew what sort of damage could occur out here in the woods?! If these were the same bandits that attacked those children before, they clearly wouldn't have any qualms about doing so again. Why was it that he was being shackled with a job like this, rather than taking a full squad out into the woods? No matter, he hadn't yet failed a mission before. He wasn't going to start now.

As they approach a clearing that is familiar to Akio, Seirei would hold up a hand and slow the group. Jumping down to the ground, he lifts a scrap of a red cloth and inspects it closely. It appears to have been eaten by something, but he can't quite tell what. Looking around for any further evidence, and not seeing any, he tucks the scrap into his pocket before jumping back up into the trees to join the boys. "It appears that something happened around here, there was a scrap of cloth down there but no blood or anything else. So we must be getting close. Here is where I'm going to provide you both with some practical experience. Do either of you have any tracking skills that would help us to locate which direction we need to go in next? The bandits can't be too far off, if one of them was spotted around here."

Akio stifled a laugh, but didn't interrupt as Seirei explained the situation at hand and the people who they were sent to "deal with" in these woods. "Hahaha! I'm not a koi! That's a fish!" The sunny Senju explained, making a funny expression as he sucked his lips into a fish-like face before continuing. "But you got it Seirei! I'll make sure to keep us healthy and goin'!" Akio contined, as the man paused and turned his attention to the woods, a seemingly sullen look on his face. "And you've met these guys before, Keni? Wait... the ones that took Kiri's arm? You serious?! Yeah, these guys are no good! We gotta make sure nothin' bad happens while we're out. But at least this time I'm here and can help!" He finished, determined to make sure that his friend and Seirei would come back unscathed. He only wished that he could've been there for Kiriyomi when he had faced the same situation.

When Seirei stopped in the clearing, Akio couldn't help but remember one of his first nights with his insect-loving friend. They'd trekked all day looking for animal buddies, mostly unsuccessfully, saved a butterfly, and found this very glade. It was a beautiful sight to say the least, the sound of softly flowing water putting the cherry on top of the tranquil scene. But despite its beauty, the sight brought a frown to the young man's face. Kiri's words echoed in Akio's mind. 'It's your fault I never got to tell him that I loved him before he left!' Despite the fact that things had gotten better between the two in more recent days, the young Senju still blamed himself for that. He knew of course that he didn't mean to, that he couldn't have known, but that didn't change the fact that it was true. So when he responded to Seirei's question about tracking these men, he did so with a demeanor that was far more diligent and serious than one might have come to expect from the usually jubilant youth. "I've got something." He said sternly, quickly forming hand seals and creating an orb of crystalline earth. Sending the eye into the air, he got a bird's eye view of the entire glade.

Seirei would lead the two of him his words striking like daggers to Keniwa " He got injured pretty badly, didn't he? Make sure that you don't let your guard down and allow that to happen again." 'So word of my failure has gotten around then... I'll just have to be better.' He still felt guilty but he wouldn't let the others feel his embarrassment, not even paying mind to Seirei's awful memories of names, it was time for revenge he hadn't spoken to anyone but Kiriyomi about it as of now... And that went horribly enough. "Yes they are. I plan on repaying them in full for what they did to him. Your strength will be greatly appreciated Akio." He was ready to fight and would stop at nothing to bring these lowly bandits to justice, fuelled by guilt and a want for revenge.

However it was strange that he had been chosen for this mission again, perhaps he stood out amongst the other two being the only one to come out relatively unscathed it was an embarrassment as he was supposed to be the one to defend them. It was clear why Akio was here though, he was the definition of an up and coming shinobi easily the most skilled out of students. He had a gift and his talent would only help it to grow and be nurtured. Keniwa wouldn't be a burden to him, he had to protect him this time. As they entered in to the clearing he could see that Akio's face had actually been sapped with all of his previous jubilant joy, a much more serious and stern tone, not judging this at all but only matching it as he would say. "I also have something that could help." With a confident tone he would close his eyes and concentrate as he felt the vibrations radiate throughout the ground.

Seirei watches as the two children utilize different techniques that they have to try and track down the bandits in the forest, and is surprised by how well they both work. Almost instantaneously Keniwa and Akio both spot something; Keniwa notices shapes moving through the forest to the northwest and Akio spots smoke rising through the canopy, presumably from a fire the rogues are leaving behind as a distraction. "I have to admit, you both have more skills than I gave you credit for. Now let's go ahead and capture some bandits, why don't we?"

Seirei takes the lead again, rushing forward towards the bandits, following the Senju boy's crystalline eye that is being guided by the young Kyoujouran's Tremor Sense. These children have more skill than I gave them credit for, but let's see how they hold up during the battle that's likely to come. Hopefully they can handle themselves. Within minutes, the group manages to begin to close in on the bandits, their red cloaks flapping behind them in the wind. Suddenly, dark black tendrils shoot out from the woods around them and attempt to grapple the two boys. Their senses are honed like a sharpened tool, however, and they both dodge out of the way as the ink splats against the branches they were standing upon. Jumping down amidst the red cloaks, Seirei turns and begins to curse under his breath. "You just couldn't make this easy, could you? Have to be heroes, just like that damned Satsu! Well, this is where you fall. Sorry kids, nothing personal!"

[As discussed previously in the discord, this combat will be done using dice rolls. The bandits all have 20 HP, Keniwa and Akio will both have 30 HP. The bandits will have 4 AP each, the students will have 8 AP. Each rank of jutsu costs 1 extra AP, up to 4 AP for a B Rank. 100-80 Full hit, 79-55 Partial Hit, 54 and below is a Miss. Each rank of jutsu will determine how much damage is done to the opponent (i.e. D Rank will deal 2 points). Good luck, and do your best!]

As Seirei finally seemed to show a little less frustration at their presence, saying, "I have to admit, you both have more skills than I gave you credit for. Now let's go ahead and capture some bandits, why don't we?" Akio gave him a big bright smile and replied, "Heck yeah! Let's do this!" This however, made it all the more confusing when out of the woods they were assaulted by surprise. Fortunately, with the forewarning that their differing tracking techniques provided, both Akio and Keniwa were able to react quick enough to dodge the shadowy tendrils that sped from the forest line. But seeing Seirei standing there, monologuing about his past transgressions... That didn't make any sense. Akio stood there, cocked his head, and blinked at the man for a second. That is, until he heard Kiriyomi's father's name.

In an instant the boy's eyes sharpened and he threw one of his Wakizashi Bokken with anger and force. It spun as it cut through the air, flying in Seirei's general direction, but instead of being a true attack it flew right past Seirei and stuck into the ground behind him. But, little did the traitor know, the young prodigy of the sage arts had purposefully missed! As the bokken landed, it erupted in a cloud of smoke and in its place stood the ancient turtle Kazan, fumes of smoke pouring from his nostrils in billows that almost looked like long trailing moustaches. "You bring shame to your family, Seirei. Prepare to pay the price for your treachery." The regal tortoise stated in his usual gruff but dignified tone, then lunged towards the betrayer. Meanwhile, two additional red lines on Akio's face extend down towards his lower jaw while a hexagon forms on his forehead as he enters Turtle Sage Mode.

324.png

As Kazan began his assault, Akio began forming rapid hand seals of his own. "You made a biiiig mistake Seirei! Don't even speak Satsu's name in front of me!" The Senju shouted and from the ground a cloud of dust came to life, undulating and swirling in ways that seemed to defy the wind. Then, like a ghost, it rushed towards the bandits and struck out with two particle streams, the dust glistening in a trail as it shot out towards the other two bandits. Meanwhile, the holes on Kazan's back began to glow and the smoke that poured from them got thicker before an eruption of fire and fury flew towards Seirei. And finally, Akio was not finished stacking the odds in his favor. In front of and behind him, in a single-file line facing Seirei, three clones of dust emerged, and the four stepped to the side revealing that the man was now severely outnumbered, and hopefully obfuscating which of them was the real Akio.

Keniwa would be using his tremor sense alongside Akio's crystal eye to help track the bandits. As Seirei would acknowledge the two's skills "I have to admit, you both have more skills than I gave you credit for. Now let's go ahead and capture some bandits, why don't we?" He wouldn't respond a scowl practically forming on his face. 'Capture? They don't deserve to be simply captured for what they did to my brother even shusuke wasn't deserving of such a horrible injury. I'll make them pay I swear it.' And just like that he would already be dodging and flipping past black tendrils alongside his friend Akio landing safely a fair distance from their new adversaries. He would glare in disgust at Seirei as he would speak, the words practically sounding like forks scraping across a plate. His blood would begin to boil as he would begin to clench his fists in rage before gazing upwards and noticing that neither of the bandits next to Seirei were their in the village.

Withholding this information for now the first thing he would do is activate his cybernetics the 1st, 4th and 5th buttons his body beginning to steam and hiss as his muscles glow a molten orange, slamming his foot on to the ground as he enters his Zaiken style, his bodies already hard rock becoming even more tough and refined, before charging with vigour straight towards Seirei. Instantly he would begin to flick several kicks with precision towards the him with breakneck speed attempting to at least stagger him for a moment, his new mechanical enhancements had allowed him to use this technique with little strain to his body. Before attempting to smash down with a falling shoryuken straight to his head, however it would end up being more of a scrape than an actual finsihing blow. As he slammed his fist in to the ground, looking back at Akio to see that he'd already began to even out the numbers between them. "Akio. These filth have attempted to spoil Setsu's honour with their disgusting words. Let's make sure to give them what they deserve." He would valiantly say glancing back at Seirei ready to pay him back in full for everything he said and done

As the two boys split off the tree branch, Seirie jumps back to join his allies behind him. "Tadashi, take care of the blonde one. Emiko, you and I will take care of the punchy one. He's likely to put up more of a struggle, so watch yourself. I'm going to make sure we kill them quickly and frame it like a job gone bad, that way there's no suspicion thrown on me. I've gotten away with Satsu's death this long, I don't want them to get back to the village and reveal my involvement now. Let's go!" As Seirei goes to take a step forward, he dodges out of the way of Akio's attack. Scoffing, he readies himself to leap at Keniwa when suddenly there's a poof of smoke and a giant turtle behind him. Jumping out of the way with Emiko, the two dodge Kazan's attack and turn back towards the boys. Tadashi faces off against Akio's Dust Assimilation, pulling out a kunai and deflecting two attacks before leaping out of range himself.

Making a quick few handseals, Tadashi performs the Solar Winds jutsu. The gust of plasma gas flies forward towards Kazan, but he simply pulls into his shell, out of the way of the attack. Growling, the man squares off against the Dust Assimilation again, circling it slowly. As Seirei and Emiko prepare to attack Keniwa, the boy releases steam from his hands and suddenly gains a burst of speed as he flies down at Seirei. Keni releases a flurry of kicks that puts the man off balance, finishing up with a Shoryuken to his head. What Keni doesn't realize, however, is that Seirei is already unconscious and falling to the ground, so his kick just grazes the mans shoulder instead of smashing in his skull. Enraged, Emiko makes a few handseals of her own. The earth around Keniwa begins to lift and form a cube around him, shrinking in size until it becomes almost painful to the Kyoujouran boy inside. In her haste, however, she doesn't account for the strength inside the boys body. Keni quickly punches a hole through her Density Crush and the jutsu falls apart. Staring at each other for a moment, Emiko and Tadashi silently communicate with each other and prepare to run.

[Seirei hit with Morning Peacock for 20 HP, unconscious]
[Tadashi uses Solar Winds on Kazan, miss]
[Emiko uses Density Crush on Keniwa, miss]

Within mere seconds Seirei was felled by a flurry of Taijutsu that Keniwa had performed. "Nice work Keni! Now it's my turn!" The sunny young Senju yelled with a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Kazan disappeared in a cloud of smoke and within a fraction of a second another of Akio's wakizashi bokken flew past Tadashi, landing on the ground behind him and once again summoning his turtle companion. "I warned your treacherous ally that he would pay. From the looks of it, you would like to join him." The dignified tortoise said in a huff before the hole on his back glowed once again with heat that seemed that it threatened to even set the air ablaze.

Turning their attention to the remaining two bandits, Akio's dust-born companions unleashed a flurry of attacks that kept the two busy. Meanwhile, both the boy and his chelonian ally began casting jutsus that the young Senju hoped would end this fight as quickly as it started. Kazan finished first, launching another molten orb towards Tadashi, this time much closer to the mark. Then, as Akio finished his hand seals shards of glass began to rain from the sky above the pair of rogues, slamming down towards both Emiko and Tadashi with deadly accuracy, the former of which seemed to be particularly vulnerable. Finally, Akio formed a second set of seals that ended in his fingers in the shape of a gun, out from the end a holy-infused ball of light shot through the shards of mirror-like material. It cast dancing anti-shadows of reflected light all over the ground of the forest as it shot through the air headed directly towards a shocked Emiko. "I won't let any of you get away with what you've done!" Akio yelled out as he attempted to finish what he'd started.

Keniwa would quickly follow up on Akio's amazing assault on Emiko and Tadashi leaving only one of them standing. With a rush of speed he blitzed straight towards Tadashi attempting to grab him yet he overestimated his own swiftness and flew right over as Tadashi would duck. Switching round mid air he'd land on the side of the tree use it to boost and propel himself forward this time using his speed to catch Tadashi off guard as he got the hang of it more. Clutching to tadashi's waist he'd plant the tip of his foot on to the ground hoisting them both in to the air violently spinning they'd both turn upside down as Keniwa smashed the bandit in to the ground. Before quickly dashing back, however it was all decided right there in that moment.

Keniwa looked back at Kazan and Akio with a small smile "Kazan's pretty cool. I hope I could get a contract like him eventually. We did good." Giving his friend a nod of affirmation before he'd realise the reality of their situation. "Wait Akio these aren't the people that we fought back then. None of them look anything alike the Red Coated Bandits. I'm afraid these weren't them."

As the boys tie up the bandits and Seirei, a Chūnin from the village drops down beside them and places a hand on their shoulders. "Sorry that I'm late! We have been keeping an eye on Seirei here for quite some time, believing that he had been in contact with these bandits and possibly had something to do with Satsu's death. But, without proof, there wasn't much that we could do! But it looks like you kids did a pretty damn good job of taking them out yourselves. Let's each grab one of them and take them back to the village, so they can be prosecuted properly. I'm proud of you both, you handled yourselves like true shinobi. I'm certain that once you graduate, you both will grow up to become respectable members of the Village."

Leaning down and picking up Seirei, the Chūnin leads Akio and Keniwa back to the village gates, where a small group in black robes and masks take custody of the bandits and cart them off to wherever it is that they belong now. The Chūnin escorts the two boys to the Byoin to make certain that they were not injured, stopping to grab their rewards for the mission and delivering the yen to them personally.
