Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Gattsu is a tall and muscular boy with a wild and aggressive appearance. He has short disheveled dark hair that is normally unkempt and uncared for. His body is covered from head to toe in scars, with various lacerations and burns across his back and torso. He also has a branded mark on the back right side of his neck that his captor marked him with in an attempt to sacrifice him during a ritual. He appears much older than most people his age and comes off aloof and menacing in his demeanor, exhibiting a cold air about him. Despite this, he also seems to have an insatiable bloodlust that is represented in his wild and animalistic expression. His eyes appear almost predatory, his lack of human interaction making him stare at people for far longer than socially acceptable causing him to appear almost sociopathic in the way he looks at others. Always seems on guard, his every movement calculated though primal, showing an untrained but animalistic nature in his movements, his walk, his every action. His hands are rough and filled with callouses, showing he is no stranger to hard physical labor and self-training. He has a large scar across his chest, as if a large blade slashed across his torso. His teeth are pearly white, however he is more akin to a dog or animal with unusually large and sharp canines, his oddly shaped pointy ears adding to his already wild and primal appearance.

His casual attire usually consists of a sleeveless shirt with bandages wrapped around his torso and various parts of his arms. He opts to wear normally dark clothing in combination with cheap leathers that provide protection against the harsh winters he is accustomed to enduring. He has been known to wear protective gear at times as well as a large hooded cloak that offers concealment of his face as well as protection against his surroundings. Having grown up wielding large blades, he is accustomed to using large foreign blades that greatly tower his own size.

A gruff and cynical boy holding a bleak outlook on life, he is widely recognized for his air of austerity. He comes off unapproachable and unfriendly, his lack of interactions with normally civilized people make him lack honorifics often and make him appear rude and uncivilized. This is a consequence of having endured waves of sufferings and betrayals in his short life, he has little regard for respect and has lack of understanding in empathy and emotional awareness. He comes of guarded and brooding, extremely unsociable and uncaring as he has complete lack of any kind of social skills. However upon closer inspection, he isn't mean by definition, he simply has been devoid of care and love his entire life and as such the concept is foreign to him. He is indifferent to the suffering of others and detests those he deems weak, becoming a largely self-centered and anti-social individual. Despite this, he is not a sociopath, showing compassion to wild life despite having hunted for survival he has never willfully caused suffering, opting quick and clean deaths of his prey as a means to survive.

Although largely a solitary individual, for the few bonds he does make, he has shown to develop appreciation for the bonds he does makes, being grateful for their company and individual strengths. He is shown to be fiercely loyal to those he has bonded with, showing a certain level of compassion and protective nature towards them. However his reclusive nature and hostility towards those attempting to connect with him, make it difficult for him to form bonds in general. He has also shown to be vindictive and wrathful, having no problems taking life as it is something he has done for as long as he could remember.

Gattsu also seems to have an indomitable will which enables him to persevere in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. His force of will is so savage and great that he has no problems taking risky maneuvers in combats and placing himself in extremely dangerous situations in pursuit of his goals, he has been known to let himself be injured in order to create openings and counter attacks against highly skilled opponents. His style of combat is more akin to a wild beast than an honorable shinobi, it is also known to be extremely violent while also highly effective. He never hesitates, even when failing could result in his death. Gattsu also appears to have an extremely dark personality hidden inside, one that is bloodthirsty and enjoys combat situations that force his limits. There is a part of him that likes the thrill of placing his life on the line, putting it all in a situation where it's a matter of kill or be killed. Despite this twisted persona, Gattsu is not an evil individual, if anything he is the symbol of humanities struggle against good and evil, a boy born of darkness who retains his humanity no matter the depravity of the situations he is placed in. His willpower allows him to retain his humanity in the carnage that is his life, allowing him to effectively keep one foot on the edge of insanity and madness and another in sanity and benevolence.

Above all else, Gattsu is the personification of persistence and resilience. The numerous trials and tribulations he has faced, he has never yielded to fate and struggles against insurmountable odds. His indomitable will allows him to survive situations that would have killed him and he resists his fate at these times, effectively being known as the struggler of causality, refusing to submit to fate and destiny.
The Berserker Storyline
"Look around you carefully. Strain your eyes at the darkness around us... At the darkness around me. You said anywhere but here. This is where, here, at the border. Gathered by the winds. Those who have met their final destiny hanging between jealousy and regret. Those who failed, swept together here. You say it doesn't matter where. If you follow me, this is where you'll go. This is your eden."</I><i></i>
"Even if we painstakingly piece together something lost, it doesn't mean things will ever go back to how they were."<i></i>
Early Years<i></i>

A band of mercenary shinobi led by Ganbino walk up the mountains of Monumentum Deo, coming across a grizzly scene of slaves hung by their necks from a tree devoid of leaves from the cold winter that plagued the mountains. Beneath the body of a woman among the hung corpses, a baby lied in a pool of blood and afterbirth, apparently born after its mother had died. The mercenaries assumed the baby dead due to the cold weather and lack of tracks up in the snow up the mountains, suggesting that the corpses had been lynched several days earlier. The freezing temperatures and severe snowstorm made life difficult in the mountains, a storm had passed just days ago so most of the mountain was untouched at this point, the mercenaries continued along their way ignoring the gruesome scene before them. Shisu, Ganbino’s lover had suffered a miscarriage days prior after the mercenary band were caught in the recent treacherous snow storm, leading to an avalanche that Shisu was unfortunately injured in. After noticing the infant, she picks it up and cradles it lovingly, her psyche suffering from her traumatic loss, replacing her loss with the new infant found in the trail. Ganbino attempts to intervene, demanding that Shisu place down the assumed dead infant, leading her to drop the baby to the ground, causing it to stir and cry, revealing that against all odds that it was alive. Freeing herself from her mother’s grip, Shisu picks up the infant and brings it with her into the group. However the reaction of the mercenaries was negative, who see the gruesome circumstances of the baby’s birth as a bad omen. Ganbino however gives in to Shisu, allowing her to keep the baby for comfort for the one she had recently loss.

For three years, Shisu raised the baby whom she named Roukan Gattsu, the surname being her former slaved family name and his given name being an interpretation of how he had the guts to survive in such a treacherous place. Unfortunately at this time, Gattsu was forced to watch in despair as his adoptive mother was stricken with a mysterious illness that quickly and painfully ended her life. This was the last known love and care that Gattsu would receive in his young traumatic life. Since Shisu’s death, Ganbino forced Gattsu into the battlefield, forcing him to carry supplies and weapons to him and his mercenaries in the midst of bloody pillaging and mercenary missions. For three more years he was forced to carry weapons, supplies, and witnessed much bloodshed and the atrocities of battles and skirmishes. Around this time Ganbino began training Gattsu in swordplay, though being only six as well as the only child in the mercenary group, there were only adult-sized swords to practice with. Despite suffering cuts and bruises from Ganbino’s harsh lessons and having difficulty handling such a heavy weapon, Gattsu managed to graze Ganbino’s cheek in practice. Unfortunately Ganbino unlike Shisui was known as an abusive and angry man and promptly swiped his blade at Gattsu, leaving a deep gash across his nose. As part of his training, Gattsu grew accustomed to sleeping with his sword, using it for comfort as he recovered from his wounds. Ganbino, perhaps to lift a guilty conscience went to Gattsu in the middle of the night, offering him medical herbs to treat his wounds and ease his pain.

In another three years, nine year old Gattsu was placed on the front lines next to Ganbino during a raid on an enemy mercenary group. Despite having trouble against much larger opponents, Gattsu scores his first kill in battle, the numbers continuing to slowly add up in the field for being greatly underestimated due to how ridiculous he looked with such a large blade in his tiny grasp. Surviving his first battle, Gattsu was paid his first purse and after giving it to Ganbino, was offered a single coin for a job well done.

Later that night, Gattsu clutched his blade as he had trouble sleeping. Suffering from his first episode of PTSD from taking lives at such a young age. Sensing a shadow outside of his tent, the shadow is revealed to be another member of the mercenary group by the name of Daiki. Having sensed the danger, Gattsu attempted to wield his blade but Daiki manages to pin Gattsu down. Gattsu lays helpless in his own bed struggling against the large and powerful man above him. Managing to hold Daiki at bay for a short while, the older and much larger man quickly gained the upper hand. Gattsu felt his spirit break upon learning that Daiki supposedly paid Ganbino for a night to do as he desired to Gattsu. Fight as he might, the traumatic night lasted well into the morning. An event that would traumatize Gattsu for years to come. The next morning Gattsu attempted to confront Ganbino about Daiki’s comments, but his choice of topics and casual conversations seemed too oblivious for someone who had just sold him. He was convinced that Daiki was lying and convinced of Ganbino’s innocence. In the end, the boy could not bring himself to ask Ganbino whether or not he was really sold to Daiki for the night. He resigned himself to forget the event after losing control in his tent, smashing everything angrily and cursing his own weakness and vulnerability.

Several cold nights later, Ganbino lead the mercenary group into battle in the forest. Gattsu observed as Daiki chases stragglers into the forest, knowing full well he would slowly torture and kill the stragglers, something he was well known for doing. After he kills them, Daiki is shot in the back with crossbow bolt fired by Gattsu himself, catching the mercenary off-guard during his favorite past time. Gattsu fires a few more bolts, pinning Daiki into the ground before extracting his sword and claiming his vengeance on his assaulter. Returning to the battle quickly, Gattsu noticed his side being overwhelmed. The enemy group had hired Chuunin shinobi to defend themselves, far too much for mercenaries who had no control over chakra. Before realizing what happened, an explosion knocking him into the ground roughly. His head rang from the blast as he struggled to look around and understand what was happening. Ganbino laid on the ground with one leg blown off and shrapnel inside his body. The mercenaries quickly withdraw due to the addition of Chuunin shinobi’s and return to camp to lick their wounds after their sound defeat. Ganbino’s injuries were the talk of the camp, many doubting he would ever be able to fight again with his grave injuries. They began talking amongst themselves for potential leaders, Ganbino listening angrily to the whispers as he grips his blade and watches Gattsu from afar.

Two years passed with Ganbino becoming isolated after his injuries prevented him from further battle. Gattsu continued caring for his foster father, though all he earned in return was abusive remarks, constant physical abuse, and resentment. Gattsu took the abuse but deep down was angry and filled with rage that the man he admired wouldn’t acknowledge him. That same evening, Ganbino entered Gattsu’s tent and in a drunken rage attempts to kill Gattsu. Gattsu struggled, fending off blade after blade begging for Ganbino to stop his assault. Ganbino continues attempting to end his life, yelling in rage “You are responsible for Shisui’s death! You are responsible for my injuries! You were a bad omen and I should have left you to freeze on the mountains with your dead mother. You were a bad omen! I should have let Daiki kill you the night I sold you to him!” Devastated by these revelations, Gattsu raised his bade and thrust it deep into Ganbino’s neck just as the latter is about to kill him.

Ganbino calls out for his dead wife Shisui before succumbing to his injuries. His body falls onto the ground knocking over the table and causing a large crash inside Gattsu’s tent. A lamp on the table caused a fire inside his tent as the rest of the mercenary group are alerted to the situation and begin investigating to see what was going on. Assuming that Gattsu had murdered his foster father in cold blood, after cursing him for turning on the hand that fed him for so many years, the youth ran from the camp while being chased. He was struck in the back with a crossbow bolt as he fled, his body dropping off a cliff and down the mountain during a cold snowstorm. Assuming his death was assured, the mercenary group discontinued following him. Tumbling down the cliff, his fall is broken by a pile of snow as he struggled painfully to his feet. Looking around he noticed he was surrounded by wild foxes as he sighed and smiled to himself, willing to let himself be killed. However once attacked, Gattsu instinctually fending off the foxes, managing to drive them off before collapsing, it seemed the boy born of death had a hard time succumbing to it. Gattsu was found by another wandering group of mercenaries who were in need of able bodies in their ranks, they carried the now eleven year old boy away and recruited him for their cause, letting him recover from his wounds in their nearby camp.[/size]

Brand of Sacrifice<i></i>

It had been a year since his recruit into the new mercenary group. However in his new mercenary group, there were various teenagers, though Gattsu was one of the youngest ones, another boy known as Gurifusu close in age to him. The boy worked hard to become friends with the skeptical Gattsu, though the boy was the polar opposite of Gattsu in almost every way. He was well mannered, exemplary in fashion and almost indistinguishable from that of nobility, his mannerisms, and coupled with his keen intellect made him popular among all, even the adults. Being the son of the former mercenary leader before his tragic death, Gurifusu held an important spot in the hearts of all the mercenaries. Gattsu by comparison, with his traumatic past and upbringing was considered to be ill mannered and not famous at all. Despite this, his respectable sword skills in the battles he has taken in have made him popular among the kids and some of the adults. Him and Gattsu would spar often and Gattsu would always lose despite being just as tall as him despite the age difference. He had a destiny about him, as if fate had taken a special interest in the boy and would open doors for the soon to be important figure of history. He also had the rare ability to control chakra, being quite skilled at it with self-study and hard work and effort. His father having been a former shinobi before his mercenary life and tragic death, he was highly skilled and despite being approximately fifteen years of age, four years older than Gattsu, his skills were almost Chuunin level. Gattsu was in awe of his amazing strength and ability, having never had a friend in his life, his walls slowly came down and the two became friends. Gurifusu also seemed to have a strange item on him at all times, an artifact that he wore around his neck that he apparently called a Behelit. Gattsu once asked him what exactly was the use of the item, Gurifusu told him that his father had passed it down to him after his untimely demise, stating that it was his destiny to awaken the artifact and that the object would greatly increase his chakra and abilities. However, Gurifusu would always be vague on the process, stating that it was just folklore and that such a thing wasn’t actually real. Gattsu was skeptical but respectful of his friend’s response.

Another year had passed, and Gattsu and Gurifusu continued to wage countless battles among the mountain top, attempting to lay siege and control of the mountain. Gattsu was uninterested, however all he knew was battle and bloodshed and as such he continued to fight for no other reason than to have a purpose in life. Gurifusu’s skills continued to grow, earning him leadership among the mercenary band and earning him the nickname of the White Falcon King despite his young age. Gattsu and the rest were in awe of his raw skill and abilities, and for the first time since his foster mother, Gattsu felt he had a family worth fighting for. However, an unfortunate event took place and the mercenary group became infamous, for better or for worse. Some of the mountain residents scraped together their income and hired Kumogakure shinobi to protect their home and rid of them of the nuisance that was Gurifusu and the mercenary band. Despite Gurifusu’s skill, he was outnumbered and outmatched with the raw skill of Kumogakure shinobi, after all Gurifusu was never formally taught. The mercenary group were soundly defeated and fled to their hideout deep into the mountain top, a snowstorm hiding their presence though Gurifusu suffered grave injuries during this time. Gattsu decided to go into the mountain and seek herbs to see if he could help Gurifusu recover, on his return however he was not ready for what would happen next.

A powerful jutsu of some kind enveloped Gurifusu, he offered tribute to the cursed behelit, offering his humanity, his mercenaries, and all his friends in exchange for power. A powerful Genjutsu overtook the entire mercenary group as a Ninjutsu sapped away the life painfully from each and every member. In the Genjutsu they saw demons and devils, creatures so gruesome that fear took over their very essence. While the Genjutsu shattered their minds, they felt the pain to their core as the Ninjutsu drained their life and branded each one as a sacrifice for the behelit to create the rebirth of Gurifusu. The behelit shifted, becoming a grotesque item devouring the blood of every sacrifice. Gattsu was trapped himself in the Genjutsu, his mind tortured as he saw the gruesome and grotesque deaths of all his friends and comrades. He relived the day countless times in those few seconds, the Genjutsu so powerful it made it feel like an eternity. After being branded, the Ninjutsu began to steal Gattsu’s life essence, fortunately the shinobi tasked with finishing off the mercenary band broke the spell and saved Gattsu’s life. The boy fell to his knees in agony, his mind shaken as he looked at the lifeless body of all his comrades and friends. The Kumogakure shinobi team went off to finish Gurifusu from completing whatever Kinjutsu this was, Gattsu remained behind broken and filled with rage. In blind rage the young teenager grasped his blade and ran straight ahead to where the battle was taking place, Gurifusu was too preoccupied with the Kumogakure shinobi that he never saw Gattsu behind him, only feeling his sword plunge into his back and out of his chest. Gattsu in a rage asked why he did this, why did he sacrifice everyone important to him. In response Gurifusu only said <I>” Yes... Amongst the thousands of comrades... and the tens of thousands of enemies... there was only one friend... you were the only one... who ever made me forget my dream. I sacrifice you and everyone here for the sake of my dream.”<i></i> Gattsu cleaved Gurifusu in two, killing his best friend who had betrayed him after two years. Visions of Ganbino returned to him. ” You…born in death will forever be cursed. Let this brand burn on you child, you will forever struggle at the gates of suffering."<i></i>. After cleaving his friend, all he saw was red, he didn’t feel his hands continue to swing the sword and dismembering his best friend, he didn’t feel the Kumogakure shinobi pin him down and disarm him. He felt nothing but hollow rage. Shortly after, the Kumogakure shinobi took pity on the boy and after realizing that he had the rare yet unrefined ability to control chakra, that they would forgive the actions of a boy born in struggle and that it was more important to recruit him and mold his ability to become a future shinobi of Kumogakure.

DOJO INFORMATION
<i>
</i>
Weapon(s):
Claymore: The sword itself is ridiculously large. It is a claymore that is normally awkward for an adult, much less a teenager like Gattsu to handle. Having grown up wielding adult blades that towered him, Gattsu has no issues holding the large blade and using it effectively and fiercely in combat with dexterity unforseen in such a large blade. The blade itself is larger than Gattsu.

Throwing Knives: These knives depend on accuracy, being too small to do massive amounts of damage, often needing to be thrown at vital spots to achieve a lethal effect. Gattsu primarily uses these for stealth or distractions.

[fontsize="12"]Reckless fighters are known for their crazy life risking maneuvers, and their somewhat insane style of fighting, which is known for hitting exceptionally hard - but usually at a cost to their own body. Reckless fighters are able to boost damage in all aspects, but these bonuses often come at a cost.

<B>Bloodlust<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
When in battle Reckless fighters can sometimes enter such an intense state of mind that they completely ignore small wounds and the effects of exhaustion, their love for battle surpassing all other concerns.
Effect: Ignores up to rank 3 bleeding.

Mastered Offensive Stance<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
By maximizing the efficiency of their attacks and gaining the most offense for the amount of lost defense, a Reckless fighter can become insanely accurate for the same amount of lost evasion.
Effect: Allows user to gain +1 accuracy per -1 dodge, up to a maximum of +4 accuracy and -4 dodge.

Unbalancing Strike<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
By using excessive force, the Reckless fighter can knock away their opponent’s defenses, allowing for an extra hit at vital areas. However, this move heavily overextends the user, leaving them open to attack.
Effect: Allows the use of any physical (Ninjutsu or Taijutsu) attack as an unbalancing strike, inflicting a -3 dodge on the user for that round. If the user takes 10% of their HP in damage that round, the strike fails automatically. If the strike hits, the user may immediately follow up with any physical attack at +1 accuracy and +20% damage for -1AP. Can only be used once every round.

Zaraki Style<i></i> - Physical Style (2 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
This style of fighting is the epitome of offense, abandoning almost all defense in order to deal the most damage possible. Considered insanity by most, only the Reckless would possibly use such a way of fighting.
Effect: Increases all physical damage dealt by 30% and received by 15%. The user gains +1 accuracy. All CP costs are increased by 15% while active.
Note: Like any other fighting style, this can be turned on or off at the user’s discretion or lack thereof.

Double Edge<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction- B Rank and up
By pressing their bodies beyond their limits, a Reckless fighter can deal excessive damage at the cost of hurting themselves. While dangerous, this makes them extremely powerful.
Effect: Boosts the damage of any normal attack or taijutsu by a +50% Melee Damage Buff, but also inflicts 1/3 of the total damage back on the user. Can only be used once every 2 rounds.

Monstrous Strength - Modification (2 Points)
Restriction- Requires Bulls Strength
Reckless is as Reckless does, and these fighters tend to be physically much stronger than their fettered counterparts. By throwing away all common sense and rationality, they are capable of sending crushing blows with normal weapons to the point of risking their own weapons to be destroyed in the process.
Effect: Doubles the Effect of Bull's Strength.

<U>Bleed Out<i></i>- Dependent Special Move (3 points)
A good melee fighter knows that one of the best ways to inflict damage is continuously. Reckless don’t exactly have the patience to keep up something continuous though--so they take a third option.
Effect: Upon a successful basic weapon hit the round this is activated, opponent's bleed penalties are treated as 1 rank higher than they are and opponent takes an extra 50% bleed damage each round. Effect lasts for three rounds. If opponent’s bleed level increases while the effect lasts, this effect adjusts to the new bleed level. Does not stack with itself. Costs 300 chakra to apply to a weapon. Can only be used twice per battle.

Endurance<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Reckless fighters deal with attacks that have a heavy backlash on a regular basis. To endure the power of their own attacks, they need to be far more resilient than the average ninja.
Effect: +2 HP modifier

Huge Power<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Tough as nails, a Reckless fighter is never afraid to show their strength. Their melee attacks, whether with the brute force of their fists or the cold metal of their weapons, tend to be much stronger than normal.
Effect: +5% melee damage.

Precision Blow<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
The name Reckless is slightly misgiving, as Reckless fighters are actually not entirely hotheaded with their attacks. They simply like inflicting a lot of damage very quickly, though different means can be used to do so.
Effect: Adds +2 accuracy and +2 critical range to the next basic unarmed, Taijutsu, or weapon attack. Costs 100 Chakra.

No Limits<i></i> - Passive (2 points)
The Reckless fighter is very experienced at pushing their body beyond what anyone else would consider reasonable or even sane. As a result, they can hit harder than anyone else can, though at cost to themselves.
Effect: Max damage cap for melee Taijutsu is increased to 80%. However, for every 10% damage beyond the 50% cap the user adds, they take 5% recoil damage for all melee attacks made.

Brink of Insanity - Jutsu (1 point, 1 point to rank up)
Restriction - A rank and up
By focusing all their power into one strike, the Reckless fighter can deal insane amounts of damage while at the same time tearing up their own body due to the ferocity of the attack, leaving them extremely defenseless. But if there are no enemies left, that doesn’t really matter.
Rank 1: The Reckless loses their sanity causing them to gain +50% Damage Buff on all melee taijutsu attacks. The user does not dodge attacks while this is active, but gains a -36% Chance to be Suppressed. All Melee taijutsu attacks gain +1 Crit and the user has a 44% chance to strike a random target. The user has a 15% Damage Reduction to physical damage, but takes damage equal to 15% of the damage caused. Bind attempts at the user while this is active have a 20% chance to auto-fail. This may last up to two full rounds or until deactivated, but but requires two full rounds of cool down after use.
Rank 2: The Reckless loses their sanity causing them to gain +100% Damage Buff on all melee taijutsu attacks. Any dodge buffs the user has does not apply while this is active, but gains a -44% Chance to be Suppressed. All Melee taijutsu attacks gain +2 Crit and the user has a 36% chance to strike a random target. The user has a 15% Damage Reduction to physical damage, but takes damage equal to 15% of the damage caused. Bind attempts at the user while this is active have a 20% chance to auto-fail. This may last up to two full rounds or until deactivated, but but requires two full rounds of cool down after use.
Rank 1 Cost: 1650CP, 825CP/Rnd
Rank 2 Cost: 2065CP, 1030CP/Rnd
Note 1:<I> While active, the user may only use offensive techniques. If the user uses non-offensive techniques while this is active their move will be converted into a Basic Strike(s) instead.
Note 2: While active, none of the user's other buffs towards Melee Taijutsu may apply.
