Description: In a town not far from Port Cirrus has been reported to have individuals spreading the word of divergent forces against the village. Namely two parties; one thought to be a cover for the anti-shinobi force called the Tennouzan Church. The second with little known, is the primary focus to discern if it's another group of dangerous individuals or just another moot cause.
The morning was brisk, the sun just beginning to crack the surface of the horizon. With the cast shadows from the cracks between leaves, foliage and the mountains that littered in the distance all had notified the wildlife that their days were to begin anew. Kikai, in a sense was no different; however her day began shortly before the illumination of the sun, and it held a rather unique and abnormal factor that was somewhat contrary to her usual employment. As one would normally suspect, an expertly trained and disciplined assassin would on a normal day be sent to do exactly that, assassinate- something, someone; whichever in the end it didn't really matter to her.
What was however, albeit strange was her involvement with the KSIS, or more appropriately donned as the Kumogakure Shinobi Intelligence Service. Their primary role was effectually to be a tool at the disposal of the highest order in Kumogakure to extract information from anything and anyone; while the source and the recipient remained the same between the Merces Letifier and the KSIS; the responsibility and the task on their individual missions were through and through, wholly different. One murdered, one got information or performed minute tasks of subtle work and finesse. While the latter wasn't completely lost on the woman, she wasn't exactly renowned with her finesse, or her minute concern of how things got done.
Though, she figured, this was a task given to her due to a particular lack of staffing for the mission; or because she has had past experiences with the Tennouzan Church, and with a familiarity; could generally sniff out the severity of third parties in this cold-war between the shinobi, and the zealots of the church. Truth be told, it was that exactly. Which is large in part, what left her to be rather... Relaxed for the majority of the trip; her destination was a close settlement to the Port Cirrus, a large; and important trading asset to the country. The place she was headed, was less so; with a focus detailed into agriculture and helping provide sustenance to the country. This of locale wasn't known for their higher standard of intellect, which ultimately led to the concern about this third-party influencing the peoples opinions.
Leading to now. With the crunch of her footsteps against a mixture of gravel, patches of grass and loose soil along the road to the village. The breeze started sometime ago, pilfering through the strands of her salt and pepper hair. It was refreshing, if a bit chilly. "Huah... Well, we'll have too grease up these old bones today. No brute force; finesse Kikai. You can do it, right?" She mused the words openly to herself, twirling a senbon between the gaps of her fingers idly. The village wasn't far now.
After about an hour of continued trekking down the road-side. The sights and sounds of the village were already surrounding the woman, the bustle of the morning routines of house chores, the neighing and sounds of farm equipment beginning to fill the air in a tumultuous and orchestrated song. While few paid much heed to her presence, it wasn't too surprising when the odd glance of both interest, or concern had been passed her way. She didn't adorn her headband, for the safety of the village's reputation in the involvement of the matter; as most of her type do. They are instructed to take off any incriminating evidence of where they're from in the chance of their death, which in its own way; can lead to conflict internally when two combatants are from the village; and neither can prove their identity. Such is however, the cost of subterfuge. In the end however, the noticing of her presence wasn't much of a concern; her destination was already preset, it was simply a matter of arriving.
At the foot of the entryway to the village's tavern, the woman ruffled her clothing; and a bit of her hair. Afore stepping forth and pressing a firm hand against the door; pushing it open to reveal the dimly illuminated interior. With only a handful of patrons, and the staff that manned the establishment; it didn't take very long to catch the sight of her goal. The original documentation indicated a man of stocky height, and a bulky weight; someone who was the front-man preacher of the organization. It was him, who she was instructed to meet up, pre-established.
Making her final step slightly more noticeable against the aging wood of the flooring. The man turned from his seat; giving her a gaze of both examination, and perhaps a glint of intrigue. In-spite the age that wore her body and biological systems, she maintained a rather robust physique of lean and toned form; plus her pose was strong, and held a vast amount of influence in just the perception of ones authority. "Rains coming it seems." Kikai worded, rather out of place. But the man's expression hinted of acknowledgement. "Perhaps just the off-season. Have a seat." He gestured to the other side of the table, with the tavern filled with the murmurs of pre-existing conversation filling the various corners. "So I hear you're making a movement, as my employers alluded; we're interested in some form of investment, but before that; we need the details." Kikai made the start rather abruptly; and ultimately too the point, which appeared to set well with the man- and perhaps some predetermined expectations of her character, strictly from appearance and form alone in the moments of their meeting.
"Certainly." The man waved the barmaid over, with two stouts being brought over in short-notice; his hand reached for one without a glance and took a swig. The other placed at the side of Kikai's seat. "Well you see, there's a rather hefty tax against the tradesmen of this village; and we're sighted to try and make a significant reduction on such. But our word isn't reaching quite the amount of ears we were hoping." He took a swig once more; Kikai took the opportunity of the pause and spoke. "So where can we help out then? With less taxes, there are opportunities for multiple outlets of the freedom of goods. So our interest is there." Her brow arched, indicative of her question and the purpose of the resources being reached out for by the group. "Ultimately, it boils down to the Shinobi that have governing forces over the taxation of the villages; and the bodies around each city. We need particulars that can help fund a greater pool of activists to outreach and cause a stir; enough to force the village to make some sort of assurance amendment. Even the small budge can grant some freedom; but once the people know they have the power to outspeak the leadership that governs, they'll want more. That's when we can use some more strong arms, make larger more bold statements." He paused, trying to lure her into asking more towards the next steps. She took a moment to pause, calculating the words and the pacing of his ambitions. "I see. So financial backing to begin, I presume you have the network to employ more spokespeople for the first portion. And then the later goal is to try and work towards a larger amount of control on the form of trading in the systems of the country; but the matter of word choice. Strongarms?"
He returned with a nod; "When the shinobi are felt with no choice but to budge, or force the people into a position of subversiveness; they'll do the latter, because they would give themselves reason to enact a stronger policy on the trade once more. With the manpower, we can defend our position and fight against any potential silencing."
Kikai took a moment to think, she figured he had a valid standing on the plan. With some general understanding about how authoritative figures, or forces will often react and counter-react. There was thought invested into the matter, and simply by his tone and comfort of the idea- there was a passion lingering that was stirring this motion. "Makes sense; all I can do at this moment is relay the information to my boss. On the circumstance that he appeals to the cause; and wishes to support you. Where can he find you and your associates to send the funding too?" To ease the situation, and the question; she took the drink and a sip. Accepting the alcoholic beverage to roll down her throat; if only a little. A tactic of comfort, as she gently positioned the mug back into place. "I'm Crevil, and the operation can be found here. The funds will be deployed from the same place to keep it from getting too stretched out, or into the wrong hands too early into the game." He slid a piece of paper across the table, with the details of novice cartographer. But enough to discern the general location of the hub; it was stationed in the Port Cirrus, of no surprise to Kikai.
Granting an affirmed nod, she slipped the paper into her coat. "It'll take me about two days to relay the information to my boss; any funding will arrive anywhere between four to seven days following. Ensuring proper security and adequate travel conditions." She stood up, flashing the man a confident smile; one that didn't ooze anything sinister. With a guise of a snake, she took a bow. And make forth to depart. "See you soon then!" He gave a pleased wave, and too she returned it. "If I'm assigned to security, sure."
With that, she had departed the tavern, and shortly thereafter the village. Once out of the sight of the locals, she made due speed to return to the village of the Clouds; to debrief and discuss the potential severity of the matter; and whether any extended involvement was necessary. Kikai's opinion, was of course- to eliminate any potential risks to the village. Now it was simply a matter of... Wording it, to convince the others the same.
