Shashu had a sneaking suspicion that something would come crawling up through the depths as she followed her squad across the dark chasm below. In all the stories horrid monsters always struck from above or below, places that no one looked, and her own limited experience had proven those routes of attack to be the most viable. People tended to look ahead, from side to side, and even behind them, but no one looked up or down until it was too late. Hence her ascension to the ceiling: Nothing was getting the drop on them from above while she was up here, and from this vantage point she could watch below as well.
Which, of course, mandated that the catwalk would give out of it's own accord and the huge demonic-looking creature would squeeze through a doorway at the other end. Shashu sighed inwardly at the sight. Of course. And our fearless leader is stranded on the other side while the other two have no way to help... Her eyes tracked a screaming Kahako clone fly across the gap and land (mostly) safe on the other side, while Hiraku took pot-shots to try and distract the demon. ....or not. Well now I look like the stupid one standing up here. I have got to stop talking to myself....
A quick surge of chakra exuded enough web to anchor her legs to the ceiling while she shot out webs from her hands to grab hold of the fallen halves the catwalk, two strands apiece, each stronger and more durable than any cable. She had discovered early on that much like her smaller arachnid counterparts she possessed a great deal of strength proportional to her size, this she used to very slowly pull the two halves back into position. Thankfully they were still attached on either end, otherwise this particular feat would have been impossible. Even this much was only possible through the use of all her multiple arms.
As the catwalk leveled out to one solid piece once more she would call out to those below. "Hurry and cross! This isn't as easy as it looks!" Beads of sweat were collected on her brow as she held on to make sure the pieces stayed in place. Hopefully Itsuki could keep the demon busy long enough for the other two to cross...
