Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

And for my first trick... Weapon creation. (This is the part where you gasp and tell me I'm doing dojo wrong.)

Weapon: Jiu Jie Bian (Reference Image)
Damage Type: Bludgeoning
Accuracy/Damage modifiers: +1/-5%
Effect: May naturally inflict bleeding.
Additional Information: A grip wrapped in dark russet leather and a solid, pointed end, joined by nine bronze rods linked together by rings of the same metal. Such is the heirloom Katsuro's father saw fit to give him after he enrolled in the academy. Chain whips are notoriously hard to properly utilize and master, and Katsuro's father entrusted him not with a weapon, but with a tool that he knew the boy would have to develop the diligence and dedication to learn to use.

Weapon: Wow I really can't name boots and gloves. (WIRC'n'Bag for short.)
Damage Type: Unarmed
Accuracy/Damage modifiers: -1/+5%
Effect: May perform handseals while equipped.
Additional Information: Knowing their father had given Katsuro what he thought to be an impossibly difficult weapon to use, his brother, Ryotei, decided to give the little fella something more in his league to help his training along and keep him motivated: A set of boots and gloves, both made of rather sturdy materials and tinted a dark brown. Parts of the boots, as well as the knuckles on the gloves, were reinforced on the outside with scales or chain made of steel. While it increased the weight and made movement a little awkward for his not-fully-developed body, they proved an efficient upgrade to his training with the added weight, which also packed a heavier punch than the bandages he'd been using.

[spoilername="Ze roleplay"]"You think he's gonna be alright?"

"Look at him. What's it look like to you?"

Ryotei and his father, Takao, had taken the day off, the shop closing down for scheduled vacation, and scurried off in a father-and-son mission to try and get Eiko, Katsuro and Ryotei's mother, some peace of mind. Rather far from their home, they wandered cautiously into the Mistera Arbaro, where Katsuro had taken to training as of late. A few months had passed since he set his mind to becoming a shinobi. The reasons, they were never fully aware of. He'd tell them something different every time, mostly handwaving the matter away- That he wanted to protect his home, that he wanted to hone his skills, that he wanted a life of adventure- And, while they never took him fully seriously, over time, they came to the realization that all he'd told them was true, in its own little part. It seemed Katsuro didn't have one main drive, but rather an array of reasons that had him believe the life of a shinobi was simply what was right for him to pursue. As the days turned to weeks, and the weeks to months, his family's concern turned into amazement as the young child quickly adapted into his new environment, going from being completely clueless to being a competent trainee in very little time. Katsuro's skills were unpolished, and he had much to learn, but the sheer amount of raw potential that he presented made for incredibly rapid development. Over the rather few months that he'd spent in the academy, he'd fumbled slightly on his first week, to which his family thought he'd react by taking the whole 'ninja' thing just as he'd taken everything in life thus far; carefree and easygoing, not really seeming to care much. However, Katsuro started leaving early and returning late, often going straight to bed after perhaps eating something. His family started seeing less and less of him, and, while worried at first, they noticed that Katsuro's time at the academy was being fully utilized. Most of it seemed to go into either classes or training, which he was managing to do a lot of, but it also became apparent that Katsuro was enrolling in many classes unrelated to his shinobi aspirations, such as music and literature. One thing that never changed, however, was the spark in his eyes- If anything, his passion only intensified.

Cutting through the underbrush in the Arbaro, Ryotei and Takao discussed the recent events and their take on it. Katsuro often returned home battered, but he always seemed so full of energy, you wouldn't really tell at first glance that he'd spent the entirety of the day training. Now that classes weren't using up most of his time, he was honing his skills and often camping out in the dense forest near the village. A few times, upon his return, Eiko would have a freakout due to the amount of bandages he seemed to be wearing over fresh wounds, but Katsuro's resilience seemed to extend upon that as well, as most of his injuries seemed to heal overnight with the proper rest. He didn't seem fazed in the slightest by the fact that he'd been wounded in the first place, being exposed to attack by wild animals or, on one particular instance, the monsters that had been plaguing the village for a short time, and instead kept training regardless, feeling as if though the risk added onto it when taken in measure. Eiko and Takao had never seen Katsuro so contemplative of things- He seemed to be taking the best risk-to-reward proportion he could manage, taking everything into consideration, an attitude and outlook that seemed so alien to them from the child that, up until the year before, they'd been proud of for being able to chop vegetables without cutting a finger off.

After an hour or so of walking through the foliage, they spotted him. Somewhat unkempt, his clothing thick and sturdy, Katsuro stood relentlessly punching a tree, his hands wrapped in bandages. A steady rhythm checked every strike against every breath, his stance unshifting. A rather large dent had been carved into the tree, and Katsuro gave no signs of stopping until he was interrupted by another creature- A large gray dog leaping from a nearby brush. Ryotei instinctively rose from his hiding place, but Takao held him back and kept them both hidden, hushing him and pointing him to watch the scene that unfolded in front of them.

As if woken from a trance, Katsuro's gaze snapped towards the canine, and, through swift movements, dodged under the dog's leap and shouldered him forward onto another tree. At that very instant, a blur behind Katsuro made him turn his attention just in time to be hit on the side by a swift roundhouse kick, delivered just under his ribs. "You let your guard down again!" The figure said, taking upon a rather feral fighting stance, the dog recovering and holding his ground behind Katsuro, opposite from the stranger. "You weren't supposed to be back for another hour, and I didn't feel the stench of your mutt's piss all over the place, so I figured I might do some workout." He smirked, earning a growl and a scoff from the dog behind him. The other person, a boy seemingly around his age, let out a hearty chuckle. "Careful, he's sensitive on that topic. Anyway, you ready for a spar?" He asked, a wide grin on his face, his face taking on a beastly aspect and his fingernails becoming rather evident as not that, but claws instead.

"Y'know, let's just use the weapons. It always feels unfair to do hand-to-hand against an Inuzuka." Katsuro said with a sigh, reaching for his Jie Bian. By way of response, the Inuzuka growled and spat on the floor, before drawing a pair of wicked-looking daggers from sheaths on either side of his hips. "Have it your way."

Ryotei and Takao watched as the two kids had their mock fight, a rather fierce one for just a spar, at that. Ryotei couldn't help but be amazed at how much Katsuro seemed to have changed. As they fought, Katsuro was moving with a blend of speed and power, a style that seemed rough and brutish but spared no motion to chance and recklessness- He had been mimicking the Inuzuka's savage fighting style and adapting it to his own mobility, moving swiftly and striking true. The whip danced around him in a manner that betrayed no swing before it was already connecting, bruises and cuts showing on both fighters after trading blows. As the fight unfolded, Katsuro's eyes seemed to blaze. Every strike he took, every hit he landed, his spirits only seemed to rise. Instead of faltering, his body seemed to sharpen as the fight progressed, catching his breath nigh instantly even given the shortest respite.

Not too long after, the Inuzuka boy lay on the ground, battered and bruised, with Katsuro in similar shape looming over him, his hands glowing with a green chakra aura around them. "H--ah...--How the hell do you manage that?" He asked with a weak chuckle, a question that he'd often ask after sparring with Katsuro, being left completely exhausted and Katsuro still having enough energy to tend to both of their wounds. Ryotei watched as his little brother intently healed his sparring partner before bandaging him up, and set to rest against the tree he'd been punching earlier on. He wasn't quite certain why, but he noticed that, throughout the fight, Katsuro made pinpoint lashes with his chain-section whip at his opponent, only to just slightly pull them back at the last second. He'd seen enough of Katsuro to know the exact reason; Katsuro honed his skills and was quite aware of what he was doing, but he wouldn't put anything before the safety of anyone he considered a comrade. Such was his way, that of the protector and the mender.

Ryotei and Takao hadn't learned anything that might've made Eiko feel less worry over her youngest child chasing after such a dangerous dream. They could assure her, however, that no matter what happened, one thing was for certain: They could be damn proud of their little Katsuro.[/spoilername]

Word Count: 1385.

I do hope it's alright that I mushed it all in one roleplay; wanted to take the chance to write a little on Katsuro's development to fill in the blanks after his little OCR boost.
