Maru silently waiting within the shadows of his room he began to pounder at the idea of what maybe taking Soku so long to get home, usually she would at least would've told him that she was gone dispute him mostly sleeping the day away but then there were nights like these where he didn't know where she was exactly. Leaving him here with only the darkness, his demon, and his dolls to keep him company. None of which eased the thoughts that came to the dark puppet masters head. Did she get kidnapped when he decided to let her move about on her own? Was she on some dangerous mission he wasn't aware of? Questions and possible scenarios popped into the dark shinobi’s head as he waited there motionless.

Of course, if the girl would've made it back here he'll give the little pain in the ass an earful about letting him know where the hell she's going. Because right now he was about to keep her on a very short leash since she wanted to run around the village playing hero. After all he was given a job by the hokage to keep the trainee safe, of course that's what he told himself so he didn't seem like he'd cared or anything. But he was ticked off that she haven't been calling him for help when she needed it, and this disappearing without him knowing really needed to stop… but right now he had to wait.. Wait and see if she would actually walk through that door too yell at.

The wooden door was flung open and in walked Soku. She held a parchment of paper bound by thick rope which she placed on her bed completely unaware of Maru's presence."That was a close call."She said to herself recalling on her trek back from Crater City. On the way back, the girl had been waylaid by bandits lusting after gold and the such and in the process, Soku had sent them fleeing for their lives leaving one to bite the dust to send a message.

It was quiet..almost too quiet."Hey, Maru you there?"She spoke to the shadows overlapping the walls. The puppet tended to loom out of the darkness at his unsuspecting victims who would proceed to be startled. She was so used to this now that it was almost getting boring. The kunoichi unstrapped her blade and laid it on a woolen mat, the tip still stained with dry blood of the bandits.

It had been a unfortunate day for them but she took great risks in obtaining this information and she was not about to give it up easily. If Maru was here cloaked by his darkness, she'd have a lot of explaining to do."Stop lurking and reveal yourself."She said hitting a switch as the room was flooded in darkness.

His figure was clear now, silent and non-moving. She had a lot of explaining to do. Giving him a very non-convincing smile, she approached."I'm back...."She said not too confidently analyzing his body language and face expressions. A dark shadow was cast over his face giving him sort of a demon like expression.

Hearing the door suddenly swing open then slam back shut, he already knew who just rushed in as if the legions of hell was at her heels. Soku seemingly had no problem with just coming and going whenever she felt like it, running around the village seemingly looking for trouble while leaving him in the dark about what she had been actually doing. Of course when she came into the room, it was dark as a dead man's coffin. It was literally pitch black in certain areas, near the windows there had been a little light but not enough to pierce through the inky blackness before the young trainee. Upon her mentioning that she was home, Maru remained unresponsive. He wasn't lurking, nor was he in the mood to try and startle the girl. He simply allowed his anger to build up.

Of course, she got tired of looking for him so she flicked on a light switch to drown out the looming darkness but that only helped in showing where Maru was. He sat in a extremely dark corner, motionless, giving the girl a hard glare as her features came into full view. She gave him a smile, saying that she was back again which lead Maru to close his eyes. He pressed his mouth tightly together, trying to keep his cool but she could definitely feel the tension oozing from the dark puppet master. He let a few moments pass by before finally speaking to her. "First of all, what the hell makes you think you can just come in here and go out without telling me where the hell you are going? You told me you were going to the Hokage’s office. That's it.” He said bluntly, getting to his feet he eyed the papers in Soku's hand however he wasn't in the least interested.

“So while I'm here worrying where the hell you are you're out playing crime fighter knowing that there are assholes out there that want you dead!?” Maru roared. “What part of ‘You don't have to do things alone’ don't you get?! Moron!”

She winced at his voice. She placed the documents away and eyed the older shinobi who was giving her a dark glare as he roared his displeasure. She shifted from foot to foot trying to figure out how to explain herself. She had dug herself into quite a pickle and it was up to her to climb out of the hole."Look..I DID go to the Hokages office then maybe I took a little trip to the City of Thieves to obtain this little parchment but when I left for the office, you were fast asleep like a sloth."She said in a raised voice that echoed around the Uchiha residence.

If Takeshi was around, both of them would be scrubbing the sheds clean with their bare hands. Finally, she couldn't tolerate his shouting anymore and snapped back a retort at him knowing full well this was probably a idea she would regret instantly."I'm safe aren't I?! I didn't get jumped by no scientist on my way home. Besides, this was essential to hunting him down!!!"She said in a sharp loud voice motioning to the parchment. The girls hands were balled into tight fists as she glared down Maru crafting up a shaky defense to excuse her wild trips to Crater City but it had been worth it, she thought.

Maru's face boiled with anger at the cheap excuse she gave him, seemingly believing that her trips to the city of thieves had been necessary however Maru didn't hear a word of it. And those trips to the city of thieves too! I understand going there with someone else but it looks to me that you're going solo aren't you!?” Maru shouted, straightening up his back he continued to snap at the trainee. “That was stupid and dangerous! You should have told me where you were going, dumbass.” At that point Soku began to snap back at him.

Her defense was that she came home safe, but it looked like the idea of her being safe had been a way different meaning compared to what Maru had in mind. "Safe huh?” Maru said gesturing his head over to the blade that she left resting on the table.. that was bloodstained. “Well smart ass, to be safe is to not be exposed to danger or risk with you not being likely to be harmed. There's blood on that blade has blood on it, you run up in here like a bat-out-a-hell and you said yourself ‘that was a close one.’ So…” Maru stomped his foot, shouting at the girl again “HOW THE HELL WERE YOU SAFE WHEN YOU JUST WENT OUT CARELESSLY RISKING YOUR ASS!!!"

Maru brought his hand up to his forehead, clearly facepalming himself. “I'm literally surrounding you with strength. You got Ziren who's always willing to help, Takeshi is willing to help, Yukio's willing to help, hell even a little brat helped you when that doctor gassed your stupid ass! Not to mention I even extended my hand to you and what the hell do you do?!” Maru roared, not letting her answer his question. “You go out on your own constantly TRYING to kill yourself! Meanwhile, I'm having to sit here and wonder if you are gonna get home safely which I'm now at my limit.” Maru looked over at the documents that she had in her hand, if she recklessly risked her life that better have something useful. Tell me what the hell did you risked your life for, because before you risked your stupid ass to know that White Coat dropped out of the academy and took to experimenting. I am willing to bet that what you have in your hands right now is BULL SHIT!” He said, thrusting his finger at the papers to stress the word “BullShit.”

She let Maru vent his rage at her even though he was beginning to tick her off. Her voice bounced off the walls as the intensity and volume of her pitch rose."WELL IM SORRY THAT I TOOK THE TIME AND EFFORT AND RISK TO OBTAIN THIS. I LIKE TO KNOW MY ENEMY AND NOT JUST SIT AROUND AIMLESSLY LIKE YOU PUPPET!!!"She was breathing hard and her green eyes glared at Marus dull pupils as if challenging him to do something.

Truth be told, she didn't want to reveal the contents of the document but if that's what it took for him to stop sounding like a dying soap opera than so be it. She thrust the sheet of papers at him forcefully pushing him a little bit."Here! See for yourself! It contains information about what he was trying to achieve experimenting on my mother but I guess THAT'S NONSENSE ACCORDING TO YOUR LOGIC, YOU WOODEN MANNEQUIN."

She slammed a fist into a table which promptly collapsed underneath the force of her blow reducing it to a pile of wooden debris. Soku wasn't going to back down, not when Maru had riled her up this much. At first she was annoyed but now she was mad. Giving him a death look, the girl tried to imagine how he would look like all chopped up and began thinking of all the ways she could torture the poor dark ANBU.

At the trainee’s reply, Maru's face clouded over and his eyes began to glow a hellish furious red color. He kept his cool, right up to the part where he heard that she took this unnecessary risk to learn what was he trying to achieve with her mother. Surely that wasn't the kind of information that she should kill and go on a suicide mission for which further enraged the dark puppet master. Then she called him a MANNEQUIN so he began to shout back at her in a voice so loud, he was able to shake the walls and clearly he would be able to be heard outside of the walls. "SO YOU WENT ON A SUICIDE MISSION FOR THAT BULLSHIT!!?” He roared, walking over to pick up the papers to show it to her as if obtaining evidence. “NOW WHAT IF YOUR DUMB ASS WOULD'VE GOTTEN KILLED, WOULD YOU EVEN BE PROUD OF THIS USELESS PIECE OF SHIT! WAS THIS TALKING ABOUT DESTROYING KONOHA?! IS IT TALKING ABOUT USING THIS TO KILL THE HOKAGE OR ANYTHING THAT WILL CAUSE A THOUSAND PEOPLE TO DIE OR MORE?!!” In a rage he slammed down the papers back onto the table, answering his own questions. “FUCK NO! ALL YOUR DOING IS GETTING SOME FUCKED UP BIO THAT YOU COULD LEARN THROUGH THE GODDAMN SHINOBI RECORDS!”

Maru was furious, he really shouldn't leave the girl on her own because the risk she took was out weighing the reward. He clenched his mouth closed to keep from saying something he might regret later before he began again "The only reason WHY I stay here is to give you room enough to have some time to have some free time to yourself because I figured you were responsible enough to STAY SAFE and not look for shit to get into…” he said. He took into account that she would find him following her around all the time would've been creepy so he did allow her to go about to do whatever but that was clearly a mistake. “BUT CLEARLY, YOU'RE NOT ABLE TO DO THAT SO IT LOOKS LIKE I'M GONNA HAVE TO KEEP YOUR STUPID ASS FROM GETTING SERIOUSLY HURT OR END UP DYING! YOU'RE WAY TOO RECKLESS AND I'M NOT GONNA SIT AROUND AND WATCH YOU KILL YOURSELF!!”

There was fury in his words his head a dark chakra leaked off his person, if it wasn't for a moment he would have sent her to the shadow dimension to just sit there in the safety of the darkness or banish her to the underworld prison. Maru's eye twitched with irritation as the trainee destroyed their wooden table as if she had a right to be angry at him! Maru would've strangled the girl with his shadow, but instead he pulsed out his chakra causing the windows to shatter and the furniture to flip over! “I don't know what the hell is going through your monkey brain, but if you think that you're going to lay down your life without direct orders from your superiors you have another thing coming! So to keep you from getting hurt or dying you lost your limited freedom! NOW WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THAT YOU UNGRATEFUL STORM CHASING MEAT SACK!

The tension in the room had boiled over and the puppet had basically pretty much turned the room into a mess with debris laying here and there. Soku listened as he sputtered out his own choice words for her in a tyrannical manner. The kunoichi knew secretly at heart that he was right after he highlighted some key points but just for the sake of it, she couldn't resist one jab at him. Her voice ringing, she yelled out a obscenity at him."LISTEN YOU HEARTLESS MANIAC, WHAT I DID MAYBE WAS WRONG BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR CRIMES? I CAN NAME A TON!"With that, she let up taking in the damage.

The girl snapped out of her cold rage eventually calming herself down before she did something stupid."Okay, look here. You don't have to restrict my freedom of movement in or out of the village. It was just one slip up...that's all. Yes, I was dumb but it won't happen again. One more chance...please?"

She said eyeing the older ninja speaking in a much more mild tone than she'd been addressing him with. Soku did not like the fact of not being able to go out and guessed she'd have to accept defeat on this one. She glanced warily at the mess. The fact they hadn't woken anyone with all the screaming, stomping and destruction was a miracle. "Look. I'm sorry, I really am. Can we talk about this in a civil manner and come to a resolution?"

Maru's dark energy slowly relaxed, then he placed his hands on his hips at being called a heartless maniac. “We aren't talking about me and what I've been doing. We are talking about you and recklessly endangering yourself! May not have a heart but I got a brain, stupid!” He couldn't help but shoot back, but things were getting a bit heated in this disagreement so he began to calm himself a bit. He looked around at the mess in the room, the broken table, the broken windows, the furniture, it was a miracle that their argument didn't wake anyone. However, if Soku wasn't around endangering herself he'd probably wouldn't have been upset.

Now that he snapped out of aimlessly yelling at the girl, he decided to take in what she had to say before shaking his head and sighing. Looking rather disappointed than angry right now. "Look, I don't want to have to restrict you from moving around freely in the village. You have your own team, you got classes, and you have dangerous missions that I simply can't stop you from doing.…” Maru paused. “Not to mention I took into account that you need space, so I don't follow you around wherever you go like I originally planned because I trusted the fact that you wouldn't get into anything.” He reached his hand up to pulm his face again, shaking his head. "You see, I'm taking in account what you think so would it harm you to be a little considerate of how I would feel about your safety?”

After a moment, they both took a mild tone in their voices. Now that they pretty much lived together, it seems they needed to find some middle ground. Perhaps it was his idea that he would not allow her to go out that shook her a bit, regardless he dropped his rage at the moment to begin to act more civil, giving a slight nod to Soku's apology. "I regret yelling at you, but if I have to resort to very extreme methods to ensure that you are safe I will. Even if you kick and scream I'll see to it that you are here breathing. So now that we decided to act as adults, what do you think would be a suitable resolution for this problem we have here?” Maru folded his arms, he was still a bit bitter of her reckless behavior but he did have her best interest in mind. Perhaps a little overprotective but he did show that he did care for her well being which was a huge improvement from their first lesson. "Before you said that you felt like the world was against you, but you do know that I'm not."

A peaceful quiet settled over the room as they both exhausted their energy yelling at each other. It was doing no good and both of them had concluded to find a better alternative. Maru was improving but there was still a dark side of him that reigned and that was something that Soku hoped with time, could be washed away although the likelihood of that was zero to one.

"I just say both of us take some time alone to cool off. It would better for me and you seeing as our tempers have such short fuses."Soku proposed glancing around what remained of their room. Their tempers had short fuses that usually produced damaging results as was clearly visible,

"You're improving Maru. I can see a tiny bit of light peeking through that dark soul of yours."She said giving him a smile. The girl had sworn after witnessing the puppet masters first lesson to withdraw him from the demonic evil that he had embraced and it was slowly weakening. He had changed after living with her for so long.

"Almost there, puppet."She said sizing up the dark ANBU. At first, the kunoichi had been literally terrified of him but now, he was nothing more than a simple shinobi like her. Soku didn't fear him knowing full well that would be a sign of weakness although his teaching methods were...questionable.

They called a truce between their screaming match, both exhausted from having wasted energy and even chakra in yelling at each other and even broke a few things. The girl however she meant well, was pretty stubborn with a very short temper and was very much the type to argue him down. Pretty much the two had very stubborn attitudes which leads up to a lot of arguments but they at least hot along at the end of it. After hearing what she thought was the best course of action to resolve the conflict, Maru narrowed his eyes at the young kunoichi. “Hmmm… well I could allow this little time to cool off if I can trust the fact that you won't do anything stupid while I'm not around.” He raised his hand, beginning to focus his kinetic chakra into the glass shards then they all began to float in the air for a moment. Maru began to fix the windows that he broken by thinking of the windows repairing themselves and through the kinetic chakra all the windows had been good as new.

After Soku told him that he had been improving, Maru puffed out his cheeks as if to show his disapproval of the complement that she gave. “Tch. You do know it is my darkness that is protecting you and not the light, ya know?“ Maru said, but he knew that she was right in for the most part. The only part that seemed to change for him was that he wasn't trying to corrupt the girl, before they really couldn't stand one another which was shown at Maki’s wedding. She threw water in his face, and he dunked a cake on her out of spite. Plus the whole showing her dead parents lead to her throwing a kunai at him. Guess when they really got along was when he found her in the forest of death, sleeping on the wet grass which kind of lead him to feel bad for her. “But you know there is always a small light even in the deepest darkness.” He shrugged. “Only natural if it comes out once in a while. But you're still a thorn in my side, Storm Chaser.”

He mocked, giving her a small smile. Then he glanced around the room again. “Guess I should straighten this place up huh?”

Soku lifted her head to meet Maru's glance giving him a reassuring glance."I'll be right here . I'm not going anywhere, too tired too."The window shards flew back into place and the glass panes were freshly repaired looking like as if nothing had ever happened here although they knew better.
Something would have to be done about the table but it was a simple solution. Soku threw what remained of the table into the fireplace using it as firewood to fuel the flames and decided to order one tommrow."It's a easy fix."

The girl couldn't help but feel a spark of compassion for the human puppet. He said it was the darkness that kept her cloaked under his protection but Soku refused to believe that. "I'll break you out of that shadow, Maru, I promise you that."With that, the girl retired to her room to allow herself some peace of mind.

The room was fairly large, a bed with a blue sheet in a corner, her trunk which contained her essential equipment lay rusting by a wooden bookshelf. There was a simple tattered red rug which bore the Santaru Clan logo in the middle of the room, two thunderbolts crossed with a cloud. It lay in the center of the room popping out at everyone who would tread into her room. She smiled to herself looking at the logo to the Uchiha Clan symbol which was engraved into the wall."What a amusing situation."
She said before trotting over to the bed and falling into a deep sleep.

Maru nodded his head after she reassured him that she would be staying home for tonight, that made things 10x easier on him so he didn't complain. He looked around at the furniture that had been toppled over and pushed onto numerous places, deciding he should fix that too. He simply attaches chakra threads to the items, pulling the chairs and couches back up and fixing them to their proper order. It was pretty easy to clean up their mess, it wasn't that bad for the most part.

"You break me out of my shadow, huh?” Maru said, he couldn't help but be amused at the promise that she made. “You can't break me from what is already built in within me. Darkness cannot be destroyed, it can only be channeled. “ he said, raising his hand as if giving a dramatic speech about the darkness. “Darkness can only be strengthened, it can only grow, and consume. Darkness is the easiest way for a demonic shinobi to–” of course by now Soku went to her room in the middle of one of his talks about the darkness, of course he shrugged them waved her down. “Goodnight, Storm Chaser!” He said, then went to his room that had been cloaked in shadows.

WUYH6lk.jpg

Maru's room had puppets. Puppets everywhere. There had to be dozens of them all over the room. Some of them were neatly dressed, like little dolls...others didn’t have any clothes on at all. If one was to turn on the light he had a rug in the center of the floor with a upsidedown triangle with a circle around it leading to a bed that had oddly been shaped like a hand. Maru also had a book shelf filled with numberous books about the dark arts, cusred chakra, poision, demonic shinobi, a jashin relegous book, youkai, puppets, dolls, and hidden well was a private book that contained Maru's thoughts. Sitting on the center of his bed was his blade… which had the odd resemblance of a key. The strange key like blade was black and with long reach. The hilt guard is comprised of two bat-like wings extending downward. The teeth of the key is in the same shape of the character for "darkness" (闇). The chain on the end of the key had a black crown with a chain-like design runs up the length of the blade. The diamond on its hilt purple, a violet and black smoke oozed from the cursed blade. Maru looked at the poster that hung over his head that had the Japanese character for darkness (闇), picking up his oblivion keyblade the sinister aura had disappeared. “Interesting.” He said before he plopped on his hand shaped bed, having his Youkai cast a sleeping genjustu so he could sleep the nights away for now… sleeping silently he began to dream.
