The seal continued to consume and Riyota knew he had about twenty more seconds minimum before he would have to switch it off. Which meant he and his brother needed to end this fight quickly. Thankfully, it seemed Kanmuri had no intention of dragging this out longer than it needed to be. It was then that Riyota felt a sudden chill down his spine that caused him to shiver. It seemed the aura his brother had been emitting had finally breached his own. His spiritual guard had been dropped by his depleting chakra it seemed. It was of little concern for now, unless Kanmuri was planning some kind of surprising betrayal move.
Speaking of breaching. It seemed the affliction Riyota had implanted within his father was taking hold further as more and more on the demon's skin black rotting veins and arteries became visible. Proof that the virus was working its magic. It seemed that wasn't the only failure of his father's bloodstream as the wounds that Kanmuri's blades had caused began to gush blood. The demon was taking a beating, there was no way he could continue to sustain this.
After that the mist began to reform, having been dispersed after the brief skirmish. The brothers knew they couldn't allow Akkuma to vanish and both surged forward immediately. The youngest struck first, a malevolent energy forming on his fingertips that he struck the man with. Riyota was unfamiliar with the technique but he could only hope it had done something. He knew he needed to follow-up whilst the demon was off-guard. He readied his blades and struck six times within a second. The black steel carving through the air. The Jounin recoiled once the sixth attack was completed only to see his Father unaffected before he vanished, two Akkuma's taking his place. The clones scattered in opposite directions and for a moment after his feet touched the ground again Riyota was annoyed. However, his annoyed expressions swiftly turned to a smirk. If Akkuma was resorting to hiding like a cornered rat, it meant that his sons had reached the match point and had almost won.
It wasn't over yet though. He saw Kanmuri swing his blade in a technique that Riyota was familiar with. However it seemed the presence of the mist had thrown him off and his strike missed by a narrow margin. It was then that the hand of a large spectral form hit the floor of the dojo and Riyota looked up to see a ghostly skull staring down at him. He wouldn't give Akkuma the satisfaction of frightening him with this, instead he allowed various sharpened bones to protrude from his shoulders and elbows loudly proclaiming "Honestly Akkuma, with the regeneration and now the skeletal monster it's almost like you're trying to copy me!" The taunt itself was so-so, but the message behind it was clear. Riyota would not be intimidated.
Spotting a figure whom he presumed to be his target he surged forward with alarming speed again. Slashing at his foe with deadly precision within a multitude of strikes. He had carved chunks out of the demon and once his assault was finished he drew a single breath as the clone evaporated into a puff of smoke. With a sigh he quietly remarked "I probably should've seen that coming..."
He saw another figure of his father for just a brief moment before the figure vanished. Quickly he leapt into the air above the mist and carved downward to slice through the figure. All his strike did was cut the stone ground and send a tremor through the dojo. His father had vanished again. Until shortly after the demon was revealed again, just in front of Kanmuri. It appeared Akkuma was not quite ready to come out of hiding, as within a few short moments he vanished once again into the mist. Kanmuri was not going to let up that easily and with either vision beyond vision or sheer dumb luck stabbed his blade through the vanishing demon lord. Dispersing his last clone in the process. Riyota could only presume it was the vanishing demon lord who had been stabbed despite the fact he looked a lot like his brother, unless his brother had for some reason cloned himself just to stab himself. Or perhaps the stabbing Kanmuri was Akkuma who was stabbing actual Kanmuri or perhaps Kanmuri had been Akkuma and Akkuma had been Kanmuri this entire ti-...
Cancelling this strange train of thought he went with the assumption that the Kanmuri doing the stabbing was the real Kanmuri and the one skewered on his blade was a disguised Akkuma. With this assumption he knew he had to take advantage of the situation to finally catch his prey. As soon as his brother withdrew the blade Riyota followed up, leaping forward and striking in an upward arc. A cleave with so much force it momentarily reversed the flow off blood within Akkuma's body. It was a technique previously attempted by Kanmuri, however the situation provided Riyota with a much clearer shot than had been provided to his brother.
Landing on his feet again he cast a glance over the young boy next to him. His brother was a prodigy where he had been a failure, it made sense why he was Akkuma's favourite. Riyota could only hope that his brother also knew it was going to take both of them to win this fight.
