Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

As she neared the Toraono Dojo, Naoki noted the flags flying above, and immediately ducked her head down as she remembered she still had the marks from the last time she tried to see too far through the storm.
The winds seem to be a bit calmer around here though... she thought.
Walking closely behind Hyou Jingo, she craned her head around to look at the immense door.
Ohh, that's so cool... Mom said something about the entrance of a building being its face I think... This is a pretty big face. I'll bet elites train here, judging by the size of this guy.
Naoki looked up at the figure of the stranger leading her. She hoped to one day get to his level, though she'd obviously be quite a bit older than he is now when she got there. For now though, she'll be happy with a bit of food and hopefully some way into the village so she can unload the fishy deadweight she's carrying.

As they approached the dojo, the smell of the fish salted and slightly dried by the desert air drew in a few smaller predators. Amazingly enough, the scent of what she carried was so alien to the desert and masked her scent so completely that likely that single large Tuna had kept her safe from the true predators of the desert. Her walking gait would have been thrown off due to carrying it so she would have produced no true rhythm or frequency for the sandwyrms to detect her and the wind would scatter the tuna’s scent to make her seem like a much larger and strange creature to those whom hunted by scent. She wasn’t just lucky the little lady was blessed. Jingo approached the gate and prepared his report in his before looking back to smile at Naoki. ”Before we enter the dojo I forgot to ask for your name. I apologize. I just wanted to make sure you didn’t get lost in the storm. I will have to present you to Lady Azame and Master Kaibudo so that you may be accounted for and given clothing, food, and shelter. You may accompany me to the main house if you like, and most of all we probably need to get your fish put on ice and get you a bath. We haven’t had any visitors from the sea in a very long time.”

(OOC: The tuna finds a use! :D That's pretty cool there head admin bro~)

"It's Samejima Naoki, and I should be apologising," Naoki smiled sheepishly, realising she had been too preoccupied with her situation to pay attention to her manners. Her mother would smack her around if she heard about this... "Sorry about that..."
She stood up straight, and brushed as much diamond dust off herself as she could to make sure she at least looked presentable.
I might have looked better with the dust on though. It was pretty shiny.
The winds are much less violent around the Dojo, so she lowered her hood too, and fixed her hair as she did so.
"So... this main house..." Naoki paused a bit, uncertain of whether or not it was appropriate to ask, but she really did want to know.
"Does it have carpets?"

Jingo smiled at her "Samejima Naoki, that is definitely a strong name from the sea, the main house does have carpets but it also has rooms full of red sand so it just depends on what they are doing when we arrive. First we should get your fish in the ice chamber then after you get washed up and have something to eat we can introduce you to the Lady and Grandmaster of the Toraono Clan. I wouldn't want them upset with me for not properly taking care of a guest before a meeting of any kind. After we enter the main gate there will be some young ladies waiting to take you to a dining area, and then a bathing and changing area. There will be a large selection of clothing available choose whatever you like. I will wait here at the main entrance until you are ready and then we shall meet the Toraono Clan elders."<i></i> Jingo opened the massive door with an ease that could only come from chakra training and waved Naoki inside. Jingo smiled Now there are two ladies here that will get you all set up and I will place your fish in the ice chamber if you let me."<i></i> Jingo held out his hand to take her fish for her.

The women of the Toraono Clan were feared by all the men of the dojo for their prowess in taijutsu and their hard training tactics. As royalty and warriors they had very few peers in Wind Country society but those that were privileged to be their true friends knew no better friends. Long silky black hair laced with perfume and scented oils settled across well-muscled yet feminine shoulders a member of the Hyou clan and Jingo’s elder cousin Hyou Yoko. Another girl stood next to her and appearances wise an opposite in features a member of the Byakko Clan Byakko Naito. She was intensely beautiful as her skin seemed to sparkle, like snow on a sunny day, like she could summon a blizzard in the middle of a sandstorm. To see her standing there with her white hair tied up in a tight bun with white lace and her shimmer silk white battle robes she could have been made of unmelting ice. Eyes as blue as the clear skies looked upon Naoki with a hint of appreciation. Her Sunan cotton and silk kimono allowed both defensive measures and a bit of air to breathe through her garments. Interlaced within the weave at specific areas was a special mesh of metallic and crystal laced fibers specially designed to prevent the piercing of her vital points by blade or chakra enhanced pressure. Chamber maiden Hyou Yoko greeted Naoki with her trainee Byakko Naito. ”Welcome to the Toraono Dojo, I am Hyou Yoko and my apprentice here is Byakko Naito we will get you cleaned up and get some good food in your tummy. So please follow us.”<i></i>

Chance!
Naoki untied the fish, which was really starting to smell funny, and handed it to Jingo a little too quickly.
Hands now free to move around, she stuck out the first two fingers of her left hand and moved it quickly from her forehead forwards. "It's all up to you now."
She grinned, "I always wanted to say that in context." And after a short pause, "But seriously, thank you so much for having taken me all the way here. If there's anything I can ever do to thank you properly..." She gave a deep bow before turning to the two girls to introduce herself.
"I'm Samejima Naoki, a student of the Sunagakure Ninja Academy. Nice to meet you, Yoko-san, Naito-san!" Naoki reached for the two girls' hands and shook them vigorously. "I'll tag along, so please do lead the way."

Yoko and Naito giggled at the young girl's optimism and that Jingo had to carry fish to the ice chamber. Yoko lead the way while Naito assessed Samejima's size and passed a clothing request to another chamber maiden whom quickly set off to find young teen clothing that would fit a girl of Naoki's size. Naito then began relating where they were as she led the girl to one of the female only bath chambers. " Welcome to the Toraono dojo Naoki, we are nestled along the dunes near a man made oasis. The dojo was originally an ancient stone building built by servants and slaves of the ancients. It is a former coliseum converted by Toraono Kaibudo and his wife Queen Nobuko Azame into a specially domed dojo; a place of perpetual learning for the martial arts, and combat at its finest. One side is dedicated to weapons more specifically the sword but any and all weapons. The other side of the house was dedicated to unarmed combat. All Toraono Clan members with and without chakra ability are trained to attain a finesse and power that is understandably overwhelming and set for bloodletting. The stone pillars upholding the building were set with skill, chakra, and care to promote maximum stability throughout the entire structure. The dome was added to promote a stable controlled atmosphere and provide air conditioning in a round-about way through specially placed vents. The floors of special marble in some areas were reinforced and set apart by floors coated with special disinfected sand that wouldn't infect a bloodied warrior. Weapons racks line the walls of the secondary area battle stands. On the northern side of the dojo are padded wraps and leggings, for martial arts training. The Toraono Clan Dojo once sat at just over thirty feet in height with an additional ten feet higher in dome but over the years and through advances in Sunan technology and engineering the dojo is internally ninety feet high in its largest chambers. The steps leading up to the main antechamber are ancient sand red and brown marble stained by bloodied sand. Six chambers are divided into shapes necessary to provide optimum training in various forms of combat. Two more additions had been made due to many children of the Toraono clan actually becoming full fledged ninja other the decades and as such these chambers were dedicated to ninjutsu and genjutsu. The ninjutsu chamber is in an underground cavern while the genjutsu chamber is in a calm hand dug bath chamber irrigated ever so lightly by the Oasis itself and heated by the light redirected from the sun."<i></i>

Yoko took up a portion of the introduction as they turned left into a very fancy hallway with scented candles.
"The entire east wing of the Dojo, and a portion of the coliseum itself was restructured from a small mountain. The formation of the mountain over centuries of tectonic and sandwyrm movement had caused many once sealed underground chambers to open and with the re-formed mountain chambers the Toraono Dojo now has a natural barrier to prevent further access to Sunagakure from the west and it also provided a new area to train for future students. Over two hundred chambers exist in the Toraono dojo and the general public only has access to fifty percent of that. The remaining rooms are specially sealed chambers for specific clan members affiliated with the dojo and their blood relatives. These chambers are built and sealed so that only those members or a Toraono Clan master can enter them.<i></i>" Twelve young women stood in anticipation of Naoki, Naito was leading the pack as they all came in wearing light bathing robes with creams and soaps for the young girl. They seemed overly anxious to scrub her skin and see just how much dirt and sand they could wash away. As the other girls slid into the water a steam surge kicked up making everyone shimmer like a scene from a movie. Yoko remained near the entrance in her chamber maiden clothing and armor. "Have a good bath Samejima Naoki san, when you are done we have food and a selection of clothing set aside for your size in the rest chamber outside this door to your right as you exit. I will be waiting there."<i></i>

Head still spinning a bit from the onslaught of information she was just given, as well as all the luxuries she'd just seen for the first time, Naoki took a moment to recollect her thoughts and said, "Ahh, you don't have to call me by my whole name or anything, just Samejima is fine. Or if you feel like it, Naoki-chan. I'll see you later then, Yoko-san!" Waving a little, she turned to enter the room with all these people who were scaring her a little with how anxious they looked.

Uwah, exactly how dusty do I look right now? I hope I didn't dirty the halls too much. Such a nice place... Is this really a dojo? All the dojos I've ever been told about were dojos that people who visit our shop ever go to, so I doubt that it's possible that they've been to a really nice one. That's probably why this one looks so much cooler than any other place I've heard about. Walking in and dropping her bag near the entrance, which contained a kokyuu she was found with and a spare shirt and delicates, she looked at the room of girls and tried to relax.

Her eyes were starting to itch again.

Upon entering, she asked one of the girls if they had any drinking water, and upon being given some, she used her finger to apply a few drops to her eyes. Garnering looks from the other girls, she explained,"I do this sometimes to stop my eyes from itching too much..." and gave a smile to show that she's done this several times without incident.

Afterwards, after having been scrubbed from top to bottom, and feeling very refreshed, Naoki wrapped herself in a fluffy towel and picked up her still dusty bag. I'll have to get this thing sorted out too...
She headed to the rest chamber, and waved to Yoko as she entered. "All the girls here get to take that kind of bath every day? All I'm ever allowed is a ten-minute shower twice a day," she commented, giggling a little. Then her worries from when she was using the five-star smelling soap came back to her, sobering her expression.
"Is it really okay for me to just barge in and use all this? I can't help but feel like I'm imposing... Do you have any work for me? I can do any household chore, besides cook. If it's ability you're worried about, I can proudly state that I've kept the house clean on days when my mother was sick and my father was out fishing, and I know pretty much everything there is to know about doing dishes from all the fish grease over the years," Naoki stated, wanting to do something, anything, to help out at this mansion of a dojo.

Yoko waved off her request for work as she placed four large platters of food before Naoki. "Oh no Naoki-san er chan... Our home is made up of many people and Clans all under one banner. You are more than welcome to work here after you finish training under a master or finish the academy but all in all this is how we greet guests. Yes anyone can have a bath from the chamber maidens but our actual duties are many. Bathing guests ,working in the kitchens ,or making cloths and clothing are actually very relaxing for us. You are a very brave girl to travel here all by yourself. Jingo reports that you are beyond lucky, he believes you to be blessed by the gods. Queen Azame and Master Kaibudo will be happy to meet you. They may even invite you to stay with us for a while."<i></i> All manner of meats, noodles, and pan seared vegetables were available for Naoki and every once in a while one of the chamber maidens would come make a plate.

"I... I see..." Naoki was visibly dejected, but she couldn't say much more given her current level of accomplishment. She made a mental note to come back here and apply for a job once she graduates.
"Blessed though? I don't think we worship any gods..." She did remember her mother saying something about giving her a good-luck charm, but she saw nothing out of the ordinary in her bag before she set out for the Diamond Maelstrom.
She registered the fact that Yoko was telling her that there was a possibility of her meeting the people who own this place, and most probably a lot of other places, and quickly tried to think of a way out of it. She really didn't do well around strangers... but she would like to see just how powerful someone can get... on the other hand, being all nervous around nobility wouldn't really do anyone any favours at this point in time.
"Oh, and meeting the Master and Queen would be nice, but I would be really happy about just getting some directions to Sunagakure itself... They don't seem like the kind of people who would have the time to deal with an urchin anyway, and one of my relatives is waiting for me in the village. I'm sure she's worried about how I was going to make that journey by myself, and how I've been keeping the..."
Naoki's speech drifted off as she realised she still had no idea where her tuna was. It was a vital trading pawn in her road to becoming a shinobi. She would need to wait until someone told her where it was to avoid being an ingrate. And she really did want to meet the people who were generous enough to have taught such ideals to the people here. Her head began to lower as her resolve to leave before completely embarrassing herself vanished and was replaced with the need to know who exactly she should be thanking for all this hospitality.
"...would they... really be happy to meet me?" Naoki asked, looking up at Yoko with a face of pure curiosity.

Yoko almost laughed "Master Kaibudo loves children so much he still teaches a children only class, Queen Azame makes all of our battle armor with her own hand after checking our battle skills herself. They would be simply overjoyed to meet a young girl who would traverse the storm for school and family by herself. You'd practically be a little hero miracle in their eyes. You have already done so much with very little training save your own family life."<i></i> She noticed Naoki had yet to eat anything. Perhaps she was thirsty? "If you aren't hungry, then perhaps I could get you something to drink?"<i></i> Yoko proceeded to pull in a pushcart with an assortment of juices, and flasks of ice.

"Ooooh, thanks so much! There was so much food I didn't really know how to ask for a drink," Naoki said, picking a red juice and gulping it down. It was sweeter than any juice she'd ever had, and briefly wondered what they'd put in there to make the juice taste so much sweeter than the tomato juice her mother only made on special occasions.

"Mother packed some rice in several portions so I could eat them on the way you see, but I finished all my water after the first day..." she continued, picking up a glass of orange juice next. She jumped a little from the citrus, since she'd never had any before, but drank the whole glass nonetheless.

"She warned me several times not to do that, but it was just so hot outside..." she reached for another glass, but then switched her attention to the ice, picking up a piece and popping it in her mouth. Her face after that action was one of someone who had seen a glimpse of heaven. She had seen ice being used to keep her father's catch fresh, and was told to not eat it, but she did want to try that at some point and so decided to do so now, when neither her mother nor father was around to scold her.

With her throat feeling moist enough to eat, she said, "Okay, let's eat!" bringing a plate over to a seat and patting the one next to her for Yoko. She was hoping Yoko would eat as well, if she wasn't too busy. It's been a while since she's had the chance to just sit and talk to a friend.

Yoko came and sat down but she had already been nursing a plate of corn chips and some spicy green sauce, with some diced meats mixed inside. "Okay we hate to have you running around on an empty stomach, that is just dishonorable."</I><i></i> With a deft flicker of her left hand Yoko gathered an additional four pounds of assorted meats and began eating more as she looked about for the clothes she had requested for Naoki to try on. Just as she was about to place another request with another maiden arrived with the wardrobe. <I>"Please choose some clothing you would like to keep..." Yoko smiled as she showed her the vast variety of clothing available.

Naoki could hardly believe her ears, one hand frozen in mid-air as it brought the seventh piece of pork to her mouth. Wolfing down the rest of the plate's contents, she asked, "I can keep them?"
She looked inside, and was stunned for a while by the array of clothing before her. Muted colours, flashy colours, pastel colours, as well as some sets she'd seen the village kids wearing as an homage to their TV heroes. She wondered vaguely why they'd have these sets too, but figured it would be pretty weird to appear in front of her benefactors in a costume.
Her heart was set on a set of dark blue shinobi garb, one which consisted of a sleeveless top and a pair of long pants with several large pockets. But she wasn't sure if she could really just take them. The set looked pretty sturdy, so she wouldn't have to worry about damaging them if she decided to wear that for training. Still, the guilt of just taking things like that would eat at her if she didn't clarify the reasons as to why they would offer so much to some random passerby, even if they were fond of children.
I do kinda want to get some new clothes... No, no, Naoki, stay strong. You can buy clothes later on, as soon as you get into Sunagakure. I'm sure our relative will have some stuff ready for us too, so we shouldn't be selfish here, Naoki!
"Is it okay? I mean, I just need to wash the stuff I had on before, no big deal, I'll just borrow it for a while if that's okay..." She didn't want to offend anyone by turning down help she needed, but in terms of clothing, she figured she was all set so it should have been fine to turn that one down.

Yoko followed her eyes and noted the appreciation of the blue fighting garb and with a quick pulse of chakra lifted it via telekinesis and set it in her hands along with a wide yellow Toraono Clan sash. "Wear that in good health and the sash will mark you as a visitor to the dojo, and as a young lady protected by the Toraono Clan."<i></i>

Yoko quickly put on her fighting gear and her gi as she made sure she was presentable to the elders of the main house. Yoko checked her armor and weapons to make sure they were in top shape, not because she was expecting battle but to be presentable. Naito showed up in a blue silk fighting gi with silver embroidery design that resembled tiger stripes. She nodded to Yoko that it was time. They moved without haste but one could still fill the energy and purpose of their gait and movement. They weren't anxious, they were simply excited and battle ready. "They are ready for our entrance and audience with the traveler Naoki, Kaibudo-sensei gave me a hug too, Jingo has made his report and stowed away her large tuna. All the elders are waiting to greet her."<i></i>

Clothes placed in her hands, Naoki proceeded to change swiftly, noting the comfort of the lining and tying the sash around her waist. She wanted to ask about how Yoko just did that, but saved the question for later on as she saw that Naito had arrived. Following Yoko and Naito, she tried to take larger steps in order to keep up, but ended up jogging along anyway.

They arrived at the main chambers of the Toraono Dojo in short order with a member of each family representative waiting to look Samejima Naoki over to determine whether she was truly a miracle or just incredibly lucky.

The Kindred of Byakko: Some of the Toraono Clan descend from the blood of the celestial beast Byakko, the great white tiger. As such they are normally born with white, gray, or blonde hair with exotic gray, blue, or ever rare completely white eyes. These warriors are able to use taijutsu that combines their inner energy flawlessly with their movements resulting in a combat style known amongst the Toraono Clan as Tora no Ken or Fist of the Tiger. Lady Yanshi stood at the wait to see the young lady her niece had told her about. She was intensely beautiful as her skin seemed to sparkle, like snow on a sunny day, it was said she could summon a blizzard in the middle of a sandstorm. To see her standing there with her white hair tied up in a tight bun with white lace and her shimmer silk white battle robes she could have been made of unmelting ice.

The Kindred of Ox-King: Some of the Toraono Clan descend from the blood of one of the demon beast Kings the Oushi-ouja Ox King whom was actually defeated and absorbed by Hyakujuuonouu, the King of demon beasts and cousin of the celestial white tiger Byakko. Those whom show traits of descent from this line are known to be born larger than most babies. Many are born with special chakra seal crests upon their foreheads, chests, abdomens or backs. As they grow older they show off their inhuman strength and tend to be taller than many of those of the Toraono Clan, the tallest of these warriors actually tapered off at eight feet by the time of her twenty third birthday. The males of this lineage occasionally grow ox like horns, sometimes the women do as well but it is very rare. They are also able to master jutsu’s that allow them to turn into giants. They tend to be born with full heads of black, blue, or brown hair with large brown, blue, or rare jade green eyes. These warriors are able to use taijutsu that combines their great strength and massive size to level mountains, and forests. Master Nabushin stood at the wait as well. At eight feet in height, broad chested and strong, Nabushin resembled a man that had been made from a bull, even his shoulders were thick, so much so he seemed to have no neck. A spark of jade green lightning leapt from his left horn to the right. As he stood near the main entrance in his black and brown battle gi slightly ragged at the shoulder and at the base of his feet from years of training and use he smiled and waved as Naoki all but jogged past him. His jade green eyes seemed humble and calm.

The Kindred of Hyou: Some of the Toraono Clan descends from the blood of the celestial beast Hyou, the great black panther. As such they are normally born with extremely dark skin and hair. These members are often born with gold or completely black eyes. These warriors are able to use ninjutsu and Genjutsu in a way that allows them to remain undetected until they strike. Their stealth is so naturally and flawlessly accomplished that their movements can influence the shadows. They tend to be lazy when not challenged but when a hunt is brought forth there are few that can match their natural stealth and hunting skills. Lord Onimaru stood in wait for his clan's judgment of the newcomer, his mask covered his face, but his completely black eyes gave away his identity immediately, it was said no target had ever escaped him and few would ever doubt it. Covered in all black combat gear he was one of the few Hyou Clan whom were rarely caught in a lazy state. Jingo stood three ninja down from Lord Onimaru and he bowed to Naoki as she half walked, half jogged past.

Toraono Nobuku Azame stood six feet two inches as she walked into the grand antechamber. She weighed a reasonable, muscular, 180 pounds. Azame had a thick lustrous silk like fervor to her hair, her eyebrows, eye lashes, and the cheekbones of his face. Azame’s eyes were green blue like the sea. She was perfectly proportioned for the skill of a swordswoman, her arms were lean and toned, her legs were like that of an acrobat or a circus dancer. She wore a white embroidered, sand tone, chain mail laced, silk kimono. Its colors were white upon a sand tone background with the image of a tigress and her lion king basking in the setting sun atop the corpse of a giant serpent. This pattern wrapped around her kimono several times. Her skin was a creamy olive, she wore a pair of reinforced guards upon her forearms and beautiful silk and sandalwood sandals upon her feet. Around her waist was a gold and sand tone obi with crimson threaded runic terran sigils marking her as nobility. She carried herself with an aura of domination and power that accentuated her natural grace in a manner that could only be attributed to her being a full grown woman. Toraono Kaibudo strode forth placing a massive hand atop his wife's shoulder before smiling playfully as he adjusted the crown upon her head. He then turned and adjusted his seven feet of height to look upon Naoki. Azame sat upon a throne beside Kaibudo it was built in a manner that allowed her to be the same height as Kaibudo as he stood at her right hand. At three hundred and seventy five pounds of reinforced muscle Kaibudo was already a force of presence but it was the ancient spirit residing in his eyes that gave away his place in the world every time. A black silk and cotton fighting gi humbly covered his body. A pair of matching black silk drawstring pants allowed him to look debonair yet infinitely relaxed. His voice was as deep as the sea, yet as smooth as a baby’s bottom. ”Welcome to House Toraono, my name is Toraono Kaibudo and this is my wife Queen Azame, how may we assist you with your quest?”

As Naoki followed the two girls into the antechamber, she was completely bewildered by the sights she'd just seen, eyes widened every five steps or so, with the exception of Jingo, whom she also waved to. But by the time she reached the immediate presence of the two sovereigns who she owed quite a lot to, her eyes just couldn't get any wider and snapped shut for a while from the overwhelming auras of all those present.
Faced with the greeting of the currently very intimidating, yet still somehow comforting, Master of the Toraono Dojo, along with the Queen, whose face she couldn't quite make out as she was slowly tearing up from the nervousness, she lost control of reason and acted according to her gut.
Quickly bowing at a 90-degree angle, she nervously shouted, "G-good evening, Master Kaibudo and Queen Azame! M-my name is S-samejima Naoki! I have come as a new student of the Sunagakure Ninja Academy and I would like to know how to enter the village!"
Having calmed down enough to realise what she'd just done, she scrambled in her head to find a way to rectify the situation.
First, an apology for being so loud, then I should probably restate my purpose like mom said... Ahh, she never told me there'd be a chance of meeting royal people... What do I do...
"Umm... Sorry... I'm a bit nervous..." Naoki said, having managed to lower her volume. "Thank you for all this, I really don't know how to react to it all... But um, I really don't want to overstay here so, a set of directions to the entrance of the Sunagakure would be really nice..." Playing the words she just said back in her head, she noticed that she used the word 'really' too many times and smacked herself mentally, making a note to expand her vocabulary once she got inside.

Kaibudo was saddened for a brief moment as he had many reports that Sunagakure was under siege by a group that called itself 'The Cabal'. He couldn't bring himself to let even the smallest child down and even the warriors and laymen and women of the Toraono clan were worried for their family inside even with Lord Toraono Kuro there. Queen Azame spoke up in his stead as she felt the words catch in Kaibudo's throat. "You are welcome to stay here as long as you like and if you prove worthy, we can even adopt you into one of our families. As for entering Sunagakure we would be more than happy to take you there were it not under siege from the inside by a group calling itself the Cabal. However if you are so willing... we will mount a sizeable army and march upon the gates and reclaim them so that you may go after what you seek and we can look after our own that are currently fighting inside. Whatever you wish to do we will help you as a guest of the Toraono Clan and a survivor of the diamond maelstrom."<i></i> Azame looked both wise like a mom whom cared and fierce like a warrior whom could never rest but the look was natural and all too comforting to many there as just to hear her words set them at ease.

Hearing Queen Azame's words, Naoki was a bit confused. Having been raised away from any sort of large-scale conflict, she didn't know what siege meant, but she knew that any talk of an army meant there was some kind of a war going on inside the gates. She was no longer in too much of a hurry to get to the Academy itself, knowing that there was a big scene going on that she could blame her tardiness on. "It's under siege?" she asked, enunciating the new phrase. "Um, but really, if there's some kind of a big fight going on in there, I wouldn't want any of you to get hurt by walking right up to the enemy..."
Naoki thought of what she could do in the meantime, since she did want to keep progressing in terms of studies and training. Her classmates are probably miles ahead of her, but she would prefer not to have people getting hurt on her account. Her father said once on a fishing trip, "If a fight can be avoided, avoid it, okay Naoki? Especially when you can see that kind of big fishy shadow lurking under the water. Let's just wait for it to leave."
Still, unlike her father, she liked to think of herself as a brave little girl. And the faster she could get into the village the better right? "Could I do something to help? I'm pretty small, and though I probably don't look it, I can move pretty quickly. Maybe there's a hole in the walls I can sneak in through to pass on messages or something?"

Lord Onimaru chimed in as Jingo winced at the thought of Samejima risking herself. "We have a tunneling crew you could join, with your small stature and unusual luck you might be able to reach the village beneath the sands and grant us a small passageway where we can send supplies and reinforcements through."<i></i> The other lords nodded at his assessment of Naoki but Queen Azame had different plans. How about we give her some training first, and then if she is capable we allow her to choose her fate?" Kaibudo nodded, certain he did not want to see anyone hurt except the enemy. Hopefully the girl would choose to train for a bit before waltzing into a dangerous mission.
