Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shops and Items [Open] [Riyota]

Naoki, fresh out of some morning training, was headed outside for a short romp about the shopping district, having a bit of yen left over and wanting something to keep her occupied as she rested between those training sessions. Alright, going to have a bit more fun today~ She'd always liked walking around the shops, even if she wasn't able to perpetually see. The many different textures and forms the toys around this area of the district interested her quite enough, and if she ever opened her eyes around here she might not be able to tear herself away.

Eventually, she decided on an akabeko, which was a red cow bobblehead that bobbed in unpredictable patterns, at least within the first few minutes of observation. "Occhan, this one please!"

"Will do little missy- oh, Naoki-kun! Back for another? Here, I'll give you some crackers too hahahah!" It seemed she'd frequented this shop, and the little blindfolded genin wasn't about to turn down a freebie. "Ooh, thanks! Those smell good..."

After a bit more small talk, she left the shop, waving backwards. She wouldn't stumble into anyone per se... But would spot a nearby boy, who seemed like a student of the Academy, walking about with an axe far larger than regulation axes. Whoa! She approached him as he got closer, wanting to be sure it wasn't something he couldn't handle well enough... It didn't exactly seem stable. "Um, hi... Sorry, mind telling me where you got that axe?" she'd ask, as she should for a genin on patrol.

With the headband tied around her eyes, she wouldn't exactly be dismissed without a second thought, but being seen as blind might have taken her a few steps closer to that dismissal...

Riyota was not exactly paying attention to his surroundings so when he heard a voice really close to him, he jumped slightly. Seeing that it wasn't a threat, just an odd girl with a headband over her eyes. He giggled slightly at how silly he probably looked, but hey, at least she didn't know he'd jumped. When he finally re-focused, he took the time to answer her question, She was a certified ninja after all.

Oh you mean this thing? Oh it's an heirloom of sorts I guess. He giggled. You're a ninja aren't you...yeah you are...you are, you are. He clapped excitedly, it's so cool to meet a Ninja who's not an old man. Riyota decided not to mention the headband, of course he noticed it, but he didn't know if she might get offended, So he left it, He wanted to be friends with her after all. What's your name Ninja Girl? He asked her, his green eyes glancing inquisitively. His light brown hair flopping in front of his face. He giggled again, He was being very giggily, he wasn't quite sure why. He stared at her and waited for a response, in a hope to break the silence, he pulled a sticker from his roll, and stuck it to her forehead.

[I hope that's how it works]

Ahh, he seems nice... But what is this? Naoki reached up to touch the sticker, having never encountered something like this before. There may have been some in the stores, but as she couldn't rightly see most of the less interestingly-shaped ones, she wouldn't have known. "An heirloom, I see- uh, well... I-I get it I mean," she rubbed the back of her head. "Just uh, make sure it's on tight ok? Wouldn't want it to fall off or anything..."

At the boy's question, she answered, "Ah, um, Samejima Naoki, genin of Sunagakure at your service! I was just out here uh..." Holding a bright red bobbling cow, there wasn't much she could do to hide her purpose here. She tried to hide it behind her back once she remembered, but she knew he'd sen it already. Ahh, well... Not much of a point in trying to lie about it... "Um... I was buying something... B-but I wasn't getting distracted! No siree, I was going to bring this back home then go straight back to patrolling!" She was quite nervous about being noticed outside of training grounds during training hours, even if she did finish the morning's menu a bit faster than usual today.

[Exactly, nice work!]

He laughed a little bit at the fact she was getting so flustered about taking a break from patrol I like the cow he chuckled, glancing back at the axe Yeah, a few people told me to get it holstered, I'll get that done soon. he smirked lightly.

And I won't tell anyone you weren't on patrol right now if we can be friends. He grinned widely, the ears on his hood perking up largely. He blew a few strands of loose hair that began falling over his eyes. This girl is strange, But I like her, she's fun he unrolled a few more stickers and began putting one after another on his and her face, This is me making it proper. He giggled. These stickers signify that we're friends now and that I won't tell anyone you bought the cool little cow. he smiled at her.

At the second sticker, she was getting a bit less confused. So this is a good thing right? Cool! "A-alright... yeah! Nice to meet you, ah..." she trailed off after a short bow, tilting her head in a questioning way.

Naoki took the toy recently dubbed 'cool little cow' out from behind her back, making it bob in the weirdest way. "I was going to bring it back... But well, we could watch it bobbling for a little bit, I couldn't really walk away from it since it was so weird a few seconds ago~" The sounds around her in the bustling shopping district were enough to allow her to sense many details of the area without needing to snap her fingers every couple seconds, so this particular trait wouldn't surface just yet.

Sounds fun, let's do it. He sat down and patted the floor in front of him, inviting her to sit opposite him. It is a nice cow. He giggled, You have great taste in cows. He grinned. I'm glad she doesn't not like me, I hope she wants to be friends He thought to himself. Rocking back and forth slightly, slowly applying stickers up his arms. His shining green eyes darting around, looking at all the people in the market place.

Tell me what it's like being a ninja. he asked.

Eh? Oh, I should've asked him a bit more straightforwardly. "Um, so, what's your name?" Naoki asked, making it a bit more clear.

Upon the invitation to sit down, in the middle of the road, she was somewhat stunned. "Wha? Sit? Here? Wouldn't we be bothering..." But there were other children playing around here after all. It wouldn't be too much of a bother either, since the road was quite wide. She sat down and set the cow down between them, its head facing the boy in front of her. "Ah really? Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was a good thing to buy with the last of my yen, but hey it's gotten me a compliment!" she nodded to herself, satisfied with her taste in cows.

"What it's like huh... Well, it's a whole lotta training for sure, and you walk around the village making sure nothing's wrong, and go on missions and stuff..." Naoki laughed somewhat nervously. Despite what she knew she could achieve at that point, she was still too nestled into her comfort zone to do much outside it, and as such hasn't been too productive besides the occasional crook caught in the act and pregnant mother rushed to the hospital. "It's nice to know you can earn your own money though, definitely! I should really be saving it, but... The cow was calling out to me!" she insisted, trying to pass her impulsive purchase off as a bovine rescue mission.

Finally, she noticed the boy was sticking further stickers on his arms, and wondered about them. "Say... what are those?"

Riyota had been listening to her talk, obviously, He didn't want to be rude. He looked at her and smiled ready to answer all her question, and excited by her story of what it was like to be a Genin Ninja, he giggled slightly at her nervousness towards bothering other people.

My name's Riyota Kuromairu...but you can just call me Riyota, or Ri if you're feeling lazy. That's what most people do. He chuckled slightly, adjusting his hood. One Day, I'm gonna be a Ninja just like you. He puffed out his chest proudly, after which, he took notice of her last question, and looked slightly confused. Did she not know what stickers were? he thought for a second...glancing his arm up and down, his troublesome brown hair flopping down his face once more.
They're stickers...They have cool shapes and styles and you stick them on stuff. He told her.
He thought for a few more seconds, and then decided to say and also ask.
Naoki, you're by far the cooliest Ninja I've met...is it ok if I ask why you wear your headband like that?

He leant back, worried that the question might offend her; he didn’t want to offend his brand new friend.

Surutameni was casually walking down the streets of the markets when he spied a familiar face, and one... Not so familiar face. He had managed to get his hair back to it's normal length and new clothes while he was out. That was his whole purpose of being out here in the first place. The boy knew his appearance would seem much more adult than any others his age and that bothered him slightly, but it was what it was, and that was the end of it, there was no going back. His left hand wandered to his headband that was loosely around his neck as he sighed and debated with himself about turning around and leaving, but he opted to stick around and actually approach the youths for once.

"Oi! Naoki!" Suru shouted as he waved and approached the two, crouching down between them, but mindful of the little bobble cow that was there as well. His amber gaze would scan over the other boy, eyes narrowing and brow lowering as he did so. He was curious about the stickers, and the reasoning behind why he was constantly placing them on himself. 'What an odd habit....' He let his expression relax, not wanting to intimidate the poor boy.

"Ahh, so I'll call you Riyota-kun okay? Let's get along well!" Naoki gave the new boy a short bow and a grin, trying to keep up the casual aura as the earlier excitement from the bobbling cow wore off and her natural shyness threatened to come back through. "Stick-ers... Hmm, they feel funny," she commented, giggling a bit.

The next question came along, and she froze a little as she understood it. Uhh, come to think of it, I've been pretty normal with movement and stuff, so he would ask about why I wear the headband like this... Somewhat hesitant, she replied, "Ah, well... I'm uh, I'm blind. Can't see, see?" Sheepish and laughing nervously, her left hand was rubbing the back of her head now. It isn't something new, but she still wasn't as comfortable as she should be when she said it.

Sometime around now, she heard a familiar voice calling out to her, and she turned to wave at Surutameni. Hopefully the new arrival would distract Riyota from the headband for a little bit. Now to make sure nothing funny happened while the introductions moved on... "Oh, Suru-kun! I got stickers, look! This is Kuromairu Riyota... a student at the Academy?" she half-said, half-asked, facing both in turn.

Riyota-kun? No-one had ever called him that before, but he liked it Ok, then I get to call you Naoki-San. He nodded. He listened to her comment about the stickers Stickers are great, you just need to give them a chance. He giggled.

On her response to his question, he blushed slightly O-oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know. He apologized, noticing her awkwardness about the question. As he was about to change the subject, another boy who seemed to know Naoki walked up to them. Seeing that they were clearly friends, he didn't interrupt their conversation, seeing as the boy seemed to be much older, and was quite scary looking. However when he heard Naoki half-ask the question, he nodded quickly.

Slowly tuning out of whatever they were talking about he began glancing around the market, he had never actually been here before and he was quite surprised by all the people he could see. He considered buying something from here. He had a little bit of money after all, but he didn't want to just get up and walk away, so he sat still, trying to brush unruly hair out of his face with his hands. He took a quick glance back at the conversing pair.

Upon the minor introduction and the showing of stickers from Naoki, Surutameni just shrugged and nodded. He wasn't overly excited about small things like stickers. Yes, they gained questions from him, which was apparent from the shift of his gaze and features, but otherwise they just weren't that interesting to him. His eyes shifted once more from the stickers to the other boy, who's attention was off in another direction, before he spoke. "Mmm... I see."

Since the recent events in his life, Suru's interest in making friends, or anything of that nature had severely dwindled. Not that he had been very interested in that to begin with, but all the same he knew it would be a better option to try than to just observe and leave. Not to mention Naoki was definitely someone who he would consider his friend. "Nice to meet you, Kuromairu-san. I am Takeshi Surutameni... Suru if you so choose." He bobbed his head in a slight bow. "I am also still a student at the Academy, regardless of appearance... I am only ten." Suru smiled lightly, hoping that that little bit of insight would take some tension away from the meeting.

"That's right; I'm still not sure what... happened back there, but Suru-kun was just a bit taller than me when we met a while ago," Naoki confirmed, nodding. It was a day, possibly two, ago when she first sensed the boy's figure, and it had shot up and filled out as if he'd been training for years already. Man, I wanna get taller too. At the end of the day of that mission, she'd gone through some incredibly tough training with the Main Branch Sennin, failed to keep control over the seal she used to try and shortcut her way through it and eventually opened two chakra gates in a day... Thinking back on it now, it all seemed very surreal, as if an outside force needed the powers she knew of to expand along with some kind of parameter and failed to control its spikes and dips.

That wasn't the sort of thing that would get a fun conversation going though. "So, whose classes have you two gotten to so far?" she asked them both, eager to hear what sorts of teachers they'd met so far. She should be attending more classes really, if not just to learn the ropes for how to interact with people, to meet any potentially helpful people when she was out and about doing patrols. I should try and just talk to people normally like this. I think it's helping already! With both her aversion to people her age and the search for potentially helpful people.

Riyota glanced at Suru, understandably surprised when he was told that they were the same age. He looked himself over, realizing he looked nothing like the boy in front of him. Maybe I should get a scar? he thought to himself, seriously considering the idea. For now though he tried to puff himself up to seem more 'grown up' and 'manly' he looked at the both of them, hoping they wouldn't start a conversation that left him out.

After a long and thorough examination of the boy, Riyota turned his attention to Naoki, who asked them the question of what classes they've been to.

Hmm. He thought for a second Well...I suppose you could say I've had two classes so far, Except one wasn't exactly by choice. He pouted rubbing his cuts from the spontaneous sparring much he and Old Man Matsu had. But my real proper class was with Sousuke-sensei, he taught me about...Aug-ments? I think they're called He sat back, waiting for Suru's response. He hoped it wasn't too impressive, or he may end up with a rival. He wasn’t quite sure whether or not it was something he wanted….A rival, he knew that often it spurred people on to become great but it was also shaming if someone couldn’t keep up with said Rival. Riyota didn't like the sound of being ashamed; he had heard of people like that, and honestly it didn't sound like their lives were a lot of fun. Suru seemed nice though, so he had a feeling it wasn't going to come to that, which was good.

"I still don't quite know what happened either... It was weird." Surutameni's fingers toyed with the hilts of his family's blades, that had indeed been a rather trying day and he was still attempting to get used to the way that he viewed the world. Not to mention the fact that everyone treated him a little differently even if he was the same on the inside, his mental self had not aged much, but then again he typically acted older than he was.

He watched his newest acquaintence size him up and the puff out. It was amusing and Suru chuckled a little, something that wasn't very common on his end. Although, the question from Naoki dragged his attention and he actually had to take a moment to think, the fingers of one hand still upon his weaponry and the other gently tapping his chin as he thought.

He waited until Riyota had finished describing his own classes before pipping up with his imput and answer. "Seems like we both had things that were not exactly by choice." He laughed little again. "I was in a combat class with Shiori-sensei... That was the only true class, and the man in there had brought a mechanical sandworm." He paused for a moment, he really didn't know whether to call that crazed woman 'sensei' or not after some of the things that happened. "Then she kidnapped me and tried to drag me up the broken elevator.... So, that was interesting. Otherwise, I have only had some training recently from Senshi-sensei on the use of one of my family swords..." The boy scratched the back of his head. 'They probably don't even know him.... But, well... I guess that was a class?'

Sighing he dragged his hand over the back of his neck before readjusting his stance and actually seating himself upon the ground. He wasn't sure what to talk about as most of his conversation would probably leave the other boy feeling left out, and he didn't want that as he had stumbled upon them, and he felt it would be rude to exclude someone. "So... What do you guys do for fun?"

I actually haven't heard of any of them... I'm sure there's a list of teachers somewhere, but I'll bet it's in writing. Figuring the Steward had much more pressing matters to attend to than teaching regular classes (and thinking herself rather special at this point in time), Naoki didn't connect the Sousuke-sensei Riyota spoke of to the one she called Sousuke-sama. Sure are a lot of teachers for sure though! Wonder if any of them have time for later classes... She'd been nodding along to the boys' answers, and would just grin if either of them looked to her for an answer of her own.

The oldest-looking boy there then asked what they did for fun, and Naoki would tilt her head from side to side thinking of what it was that she did. "I guess I just go train and stuff... I kinda like learning all this, so I think it's fun. Ah, and sweets! I like walking around here and just talking to the shopkeepers. Sometimes they give me free stuff~" She didn't know if either of the two have been getting the same treatment, but hers was likely due to her blindfold and ability to walk around knocking less things off shelves than the kids who didn't have one on. "Otherwise though, just training."

[Short and late... I need to step it up some, sorry about the delay guys]

Riyota considered the question proposed by the other boy Ooh Ooh, I know. He jumped from one foot to the other I...I...um...hmm... Actually, he wasn't quite sure of the things he did for fun, He found life itself fun and didn't really take notice of things he did and how they made him feel Well...I suppose smashing stuff is pretty fun...Y'know if it doesn't belong to anyone, and...uh...umm What Else? He thought. Then it hit him I LIKE STICKERS!!! STICKERS ARE FUN! He announced, beaming proudly, falling onto his back, grinning. He was glad he finally came up with an answer.

He liked Naoki's response, It must be fun to get free stuff he thought whilst giggling.

He sat up again and tapped his chin, trying to think of a question Ooh, I have a question He fidgeted excitedly What's your favourite jutsu that y'know. He grinned That's a good one.

[Shorter and Later but...oh well :/]

Surutameni raised an eyebrow slightly at the fact that Naoki found enjoyment in the same things he did, well save for the sweets part. Although when she mentioned free things he was relatively surprised, but then again she was blind, so they probably took pitty on her for the most part. His mind wandered to the last time he had spent training, it was fun but it got boring while alone, perhaps he would ask her to train with him someday. The young shinobi's attention turned to the other boy there as he in turn responded to his question. 'Stickers... Who woulda thought?' He let a burst of air out of his lungs in a rather forced sigh. This was weird to him, never in his life had he ever met someone so obsessed with something so small. He shrugged, more to himself than anything.

"Mmm my favorite jutsu? Well, I mostly use Taijutsus as I tend to use my weapons more than anything... I should probably train myself in some Ninjutsus or even Genjutsus at some point...." Suru was distracting himself with the ideas of different jutsus as he thought about an answer to Riyota's question, which made it hard for him to pin point his favorite. After a few minutes of silent pondering he finally came up with an answer. "I don't really have a favorite right now, each has their own use and I don't see a point to have a favorite." He shrugged again and remained silent.

Naoki fiddled with the stickers still on her forehead after Riyota's exclamation, though she jumped and took a bit of a step backwards during said exclamation. Ooh... Gotta be careful around this one. She smiled politely, somewhat wryly, once she heard that Suru didn't have a favorite jutsu. Everyone should class their knowledge into favorite and least favorite items as far as she was concerned, it made for some very cool finishers and trademark material. "My favorite's definitely the 16-Hit Combo, so much hitting! It keeps the enemy locked into not being able to move while the hits happen too, so that's always a good thing, gives me time to plan out what to do next... I don't think I'd be able to go a single battle without throwing a couple dozen punches around," she finished, demonstrating a swift one-two without the use of chakra to accentuate her love of punching things. "Which one's yours Riyota?" Naoki would ask the student this before she moved on with her own question for the two, waiting for an answer before proceeding.

"Okay, my turn! Uh, or did you want to ask something Suru? If ya don't, just tell us about that battle with the sandworm you had in that class with Shiori-sensei! I would've liked to see a sandworm for sure..." Strangely, though she had heard tales of sandworms, she wasn't perturbed by the idea of sensing one... or seeing it even, if she could just get the gate to work to her whims. She lowered her face a little, at her recent failures in getting those whims to come to life.

Riyota settled down a bit after he realised he scared Naoki a bit, evident by the fact she jumped back slightly. He calmed himself down and listened to Naoki's enthusiastic answer. He smiled, it was nice to see her get excited. When he noticed she had asked the question back to him. He thought for a few seconds Hmmm, well I don't really know that many Jutsu. He said, getting slightly embarrassed as he was the only one here who was not yet a full fledged Ninja. I guess I just like swinging my axe, I mean, I can do a pretty mean Slash with it He thought some more. And I guess thunderfist is pretty good. He smiled, satisfied with his answer.

When Naoki asked Suru about the Sandworm, Riyota sat and listened intently, Seeing a Sandworm must've been awesome! He thought to himself. Suru-kun must be really strong. he sighed softly to himself. I wish I could be that strong. He glanced at Naoki quickly, she seemed upset about something, maybe he should ask her about it later.

[It's so short I know D: but I wanted to put something so we can hear about the sandworm.]
