Appearance
Akane and Akihiko both have pale white skin, jet black hair and bloody red eyes due to their albinism. Their hair are both cut short making them completely identical with each other. Nobody else but their elder brother, Tatsuya, was able to differentiate them from each other before they were surgically joined together.
Due to their abduction by the 最高人民 Saiko Jinmin (or the SAIJIN Guild), the two have been surgically conjoined together in order to survive. From their shoulder down to their hipbone, they are now attached to each other and share one set of major organs while having two hearts. Evidence of them not being conjoined at birth is evident as, without clothing, what constitutes as their center is exposed and deformed (the results of a shoddy and rushed procedure). As such, fresh bandages are required and must be replaced at least three times a day. Loose clothing is also advised.
Anyone who has met the Shoukyou twins, Akane and Akihiko, before can them despite their deformation. The Shoukyou is a recognizable name as well, being one of the noble and founding clans of Mist.
Reputation
Before they became Aka, the two were proud members of the Shoukyou main branch, dedicated to serving and protecting the lord and heir of their clan. They were considered prodigies in their family though they were not looked upon kindly due to their mischievous and more illicit activities outside of their duties. Despite this, they are very capable and very dangerous.
They have quite the reputation from before the Great Freeze took over Mist. Child prodigies, they graduated from the Academy early and, in a move that surprised everyone, went to two separate branches. Akane joined the Corps and became an ANBU Captain at fourteen years old and Akihiko worked in the hospital operating theater and morgue. Akane later left to join Akihiko as a doctor. In their spare time, they also taught students at the Academy and had the lowest safety rating among the teachers, many of their students being sent to the hospital for wounds both physical and mental.
For a time, sister and brother disappeared from the face of the earth, only to reappear as the thing known as Aka. Though they do not know it yet, they have been made into a vessel, a Horseman of Death, along with three others who host Pestilence, War and Famine.
They now roam the lands near aimlessly, searching for something to appease their boredom. They are known to pay handsomely if given bodies as well as gift marks of powers. For a price.
