Appearance:
Powder blue eyes, silver dyed hair and fair skin makes Hisoka look noble and elegant with only a chakra mark in the form of an Ace of Spades under his left eye marring his flawless features. The man spends a lot of time, effort and money into looking fabulous so it is not surprising for him to be seen buying expensive beauty products ranging from imported skin creams to specialized shampoos. He also makes sure he is wearing the latest trend in fashion, if he isn’t the one starting it, but is a firm believer that he can make anything look good. He has a huge closet back home filled with clothes, shoes and accessories, usually in the hues of white, silver and blue although he does have other attire in every color imaginable. Hisoka is proud of his tall and slender physique which he manages to keep with his diet regiment.
Personality:
To sum him up in a few words, one would consider Hisoka a full tilt diva. It is almost impossible not to notice him because of his confident presence and he really likes being center stage. Aside from his appearances, he is very vain, arrogant and snobby while having a flair for dramatics. He can be very selfish and manipulative towards others and will do almost anything to get what he wants. The man can also be extreme, quick to anger towards anyone who messes with his looks and suddenly become very cowardly if he feels himself to be in danger.
He also has a gambling problem although he doesn’t consider it a problem as he has built a substantial fortune for himself on the blackjack tables alone which earned him his title as the Ace of Spades. He is often seen at the Resort and the Casino always with at least one girl in each arm if not more.
Hisoka is also annoyed that the main branch of the family reserves the right to rule their clan and has a deep seated jealousy for the heir of the family when he believes himself superior and more suited to rule but he has a soft spot for the twins and often uses them to get at their brother. He knows there is little he can do to change this though. But if he cannot be heir then he will make sure he is a Shoukyou that Mist will never forget.
Despite his flaws, there is a good guy inside him as well. To his namesake, he can be quite reserved and act like a perfect gentleman when he doesn’t want something. He can be kind, caring and loyal to those he loves and views family as important above all else. He is also intelligent and skilled as a ninja despite what most believe although he doesn’t see much merit in using violence.
History:
Growing up hearing tales of the Shoukyou’s greatness especially of the leader, Hisoka thought that he could become the head of the family if he worked hard enough and his mother never had the heart to tell him otherwise.
He first met the heir, another boy the same age as him, during the birth of the twins: Akane and Akihiko. At the beginning, he was friendly, thinking that he could finally have a friend from their family his age especially the one who was his mother’s twin sister’s son. But the other boy wasn’t friendly at all and didn’t even make the effort to play nice but the adults never told him off for it. Confused as he knew such behavior would get him scolded for acting like a brat, he was told by their other cousins that they were spoiling the boy because he was the heir. When his mother finally confessed that he could not become clan leader because of their station as a main branch family, he was in denial and affirmed that he could change that by being better than the clan heir.
With him being the same age as the heir, Tatsuya, he entered and graduated the Academy as the same time as him. He was a hard worker and was a good role model to others at such a young age in his aspiration to become something he could not become. Hisoka was an intelligent, skilled and good natured boy that others regarded him highly compared to the Shoukyou heir who had a reputation of being an airhead.
On graduation, he entered the Main Branch in order to continue to show that he was better than the heir. While Tatsuya took missions with less enthusiasm, Hisoka was driven and passionate and garnered many successful missions where he was in the leader role. Hisoka waited for the clan elder’s to notice his efforts and superiority and make him heir instead but it never happened. They had all grown up eventually with him having a cold relationship with Tatsuya and having a good relationship with the twins and with everyone else from their family, even the troublemaking Kai.
When Tatsuya became the Main Branch Sennin at 20, he had enough and charged the clan elders, questioning their stubbornness in keeping that good for nothing boy as the next leader when he was clearly better in every single way. He was punished for his transgressions and he realized that he really could not become the heir for the first time in his life because of their family’s ways.
He changed drastically after that, dying his brown hair silver because he hated how people kept saying that he looked like his despicable cousin and he moved to the ANBU branch because he didn't want to work under him. The man developed a gambling addiction but no one brought it up because he wasn’t exactly losing but he also started to develop other habits and vices he would have been unwilling to do before. He started partying a lot, drinking, picking fights, sleeping around with both men and women and causing in trouble in general.
The man only regained his senses after the incident he still regrets where he confronted Tatsuya in drunken rage and started insulting him as well as the family. Akane, who became close to him as they grew up, chewed him out for his stupidity and he has slowly tried to return to the great ninja that he had been before it all. He started to try to become the role model that he was supposed to be but he could not completely get away from his vices and found a good ground between then and now.
Hisoka still hates Tatsuya and believes himself better than him but if he cannot be the leader, then he will be the Shoukyou nobody will ever forget.
