Brief Physical Description: Shun is a petite, frail girl, standing at about four feet, which is not that odd for a nine year old girl. Her hair is raven and her eyes are blue, making her appearance rather weak and easy to pass over. Actually, one would have to glance over the room twice to spot her at times. The somewhat withdrawn posture and constant daydreaming often leave the impression of a not bright enough, lanky girl of no real significance. However, if one would look past the slightly worn off clothes and bangs of dark hair, they’d notice scarred knuckles and a friendly little girl.
Her clothes of choice are usually a pair of cargo pants and a dark colored sweater with long sleeves. No, it is not seen as being depressed. Dark clothes make it harder to notice stains and sweaters mean she won’t get a cold. Cargo pants are for easier movement. She also wears her hair loose on civilian situations and combed back in a high ponytail for training. Again, practical reasons. By now, one can tell, Shun is not really interested in her appearance as long as it’s easy for her to function best in the clothes.
Personality: There are many words to describe her personality by. And while no person is ever really “ordinary”, Shun might be just nearing that “odd” factor. For a young girl, she doesn’t try to make friends. All she does is sit in class, while staring at the few birds outside the window and now and then answering a forced on question or two. She doesn’t really talk too much unless spoken to… but when her opinion is asked, she never hesitates to tell the truth how she sees it. One time, another girl tried to befriend her and asked how she looked when it was her birthday to Shun. The blue eyed pale girl replied that her classmate looked like a pig with a red leash, due to the colors of her outfit, and wished her all the best on her birthday. Well… that friendship ended there…
Shun never tries to be mean. She has no reason to be either loving or nasty; she just finds associations in nearly everything she sees or does and therefore speaks her mind of them. It be good or wrong, you tell her.
If one would want to anger her, they would probably have to make a miracle. Shun doesn’t get angry. If attacked, she would try to avoid or defend; if yelled at, she would try to answer or apologize… understanding the sources of actions is something she’s about. Anger is something she just doesn’t get when to use. She doesn’t know much about herself. Besides training and watching random sceneries, she doesn’t have many hobbies she would defend. Being an orphan, she doesn’t really have any family to defend. It’s too early to know if anything besides her own failure could make her tick.
History: As mentioned above, Shun is an orphan. Both of her parents were from Mist. Both shinobi. Both killed in combat, leaving her as a little baby. She was raised by the village, fed, schooled. Kirigakure being a military village, she was sent into the academy at the age of eight and before that, it had been made pretty clear of what her future had in store. Her parents being a main branch and ANBU, she was this close to being labeled “shinobi” at the nursery.
While she did enter the academy at age 8, she did go through training before that. To be honest, she could see the academy grounds from her window at the orphanage she had been living in at the time. Perhaps it really was in her blood, perhaps it was just a coincidence, but she found it exciting. Some kids dream to go into space, she dreamt of being able to do backflips, move incredibly fast and do ninjutsu. Be it the luck of the draw, or be it some unknown need of try and be closer to the memory of her parents, but hey. At least she had a hobby. Not having the luxury of getting a ton of new clothes or getting a variety of books, she went to train every day. Her weak-looking body made her an easy target to pick on as a younger child, so she didn’t really have friends either. Yet, the dark haired and blue eyed girl was not sad. There was one social worker who had taken a fancy to her. Hitori Ayame. She claimed to be a friend of her late mother’s and often visited Shun so they would go for a walk or the woman would try to act as a supportive guardian in any other way. Being awkward with the whole “bonding” thing, Shun could only assume, the woman had her reasons and had decided to trust her, also showing the same amount of kindness that had been shown to her.
