Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Asuka finished writing the angry letter, basically, and apologizing in between, yelling at her assistant to get it to the right people as soon as she could. This would either end very badly, or end very badly. It was something she couldn't let go, no matter the deal. Being the Hokage required certain sacrifices and with that she stood in wait for the people involved to get here. On her desk stood a tea kettle with five cups. They were fully expected to take the cup as a sign that they were ready to talk, or rather be talked to.

Hello.

You are required to attend the Hokage at her office effective immediately upon the opening of this letter. Otherwise, you are expected to leave the village to never return.

Order given by the Hokage

Shion was one that would probably difficult to reach... He was still asleep inside the clan house after all. He had been working a night shift so it was safe to say, that when he was woken up, that he was in a pretty foul mood. "!@#$ing hell! I told you not to wake me up!" He gave one in the clan a full-blown scolding and took the letter from them after. "I swear I will skin someone for this." He growled low and looked at the letter. "For--" He never finished the sentence as he flopped back to his bed and growled in his pillow.

A heavy sigh was given and he walked towards the closet, grabbing casual clothing as this was supposed to be his resting time, he didn't even feel like putting on his regular clan clothing. So there he walked in a set of black sweatpants with a red stripe on either side. A grey hoodie which held a text and an image on. His hairs were put in a high ponytail and he wore black sneakers. Once he entered the Hokage's place... He looked at the tea. Looked at the female, rolled his eyes, and grabbed a cup. 'After a nightshift the last thing you want is tea...' he kept mocking and once he sat down, he would be attempting to stay awake.

Shun was just about to finish up at the garden and head to the bar to start learning the ropes of helping in the clan when he received a letter from his father. He opened it and read the words from the Hokage, swallowing thickly from the nerves that filled him. He decided it was probably best to arrive at the Hokage Mansion than risk his work inside Leaf if he wanted to be properly useful to the clan.

With a small sigh, Shun dusted off his pants a little from the dirt gathered from working in the garden and made his way straight to the mansion. He showed the letter to the guards there, walking in and making his way to the meeting location. He bowed politely to his Hokage, sitting down next to Shion and taking a cup of tea.

"You look awful," he commented lightly to Shion, offering him a faint smile despite the tense atmosphere.

Sumiko climbed the stairs towards the Hokages’s office, a lot had changed since her run in with Asuka and she couldn’t help but think that her summoning with related to that, issue, she went through scenarios in her head to explain why there was nothing that remained of her Clan house, she was safe that if she explained the situation then maybe the Hokage would understand but with her little to not dealings with her she wasn’t hopeful. The girl put a gloved hand on the door handles and twisted it pushing the door open her eyes fell upon Shion and panicked a little before she saw Shun, luckily he was involved with everything that went down in the Yasuda estate so that put her mind a ease a little at least. Sumiko walked into the room looking at the tea cup, picking it up but not drinking from it, she couldn’t help but be little suspicious before turning to the two males that were in the room with her.

”So I guessing this has to with our little get together with Nobu then?” She took a seat waiting to see who else was going to be joining them and what exactly the Hokage had in stall for them all.

There was a slew of things that were on Za's mind, He was getting acclimated to his abilities and helping Sumiko learn how to walk and manipulate her chakra, and all of those things. However, today was a day that Za had been out and about doing his own personal sets of training, Moving himself into a position that would be more perceptive to the new hearts beating within his body. Though, they were becoming more linked chakra cores than anything else. As he would re-arrive to the empty house, he'd realize the notes that were left behind and left for him as well. 'Shit... This is not good. Damnit Nobu... What am I supposed to do...' then it clicked. Za was to be the second in command. He would have to perk himself up and get ready in the case of the loss of Nobu's life.

"Fine...", Za would find himself pacing the halls of the Hokage Mansion before hearing Sumiko's voice, Za would be seen entering the room after Sumiko spoke with a smirk, his Leaf Headband being tied to his left arm, the one that was still his own. As he would not want anything to happen to the one that Sumiko had made for him. "...Maybe so Sumi, it could be something else, who knows with this woman...", colorful language as Za mentioned something that could have happened before or after that. Who knew though... It was important to know that when you had the blues that this woman was seemingly having with such a short stint as Kage so far. Maybe this would be something to take them all out before things got hasty.

"...So... Waddya want Miss Hokage.", Za would speak from just past the threshold of the door. Looking to Shion and Shun, 'Seems we're all here... But what are the stakes... what could she be planning?' Za was more of a battle strategist, over a thinker in political stances. So, this would be fun...

Theme, just love his shit.
Asuka took a deep breath as she watched each individual enter her office. With a smile to her face she took a sip from her tea looking at Sumiko. "As a matter of fact it is." She spoke, an angry smile appearing on her face as the final member joined the others. She sighed as she took a sip from her tea. "Let me start with this. What's done is done so lying isn't going to help you and since I'm bad with speeches I'm going to go straight to the point."

She leaned forward, the angry warm smile not leaving her face. "We can all attest of you being part of the Gekido clan whose led by a leaf missing by the name of Nobu. Now, on my way to meet the dude I find you all sitting alongside said criminal. Not only that." She said taking another sip from her tea. "But you decided to ignore your Hokage order and followed the criminals which calls into question your fidelity to the village."

She took another sip from her tea. "Thankfully, the criminal has been dealt with according to the laws of Konohagakure. Thanks to your choice it was clear he became a liability to the stability of the village and so a decision had been made." She sighed "Now, before you do anything harsh I would consider your actions carefully. Think before you act, the rest of your family members are still alive and healthy... for now. This part wasn't exactly true, he had been dealt with. Heck, she's gonna marry the guy but making it sound as if she had killed him was better. "Unfortunately, the fight didn't come cheap." She spoke showing her bandaged arm, her hand missing. "So now I got a whole lot of emotions piled up ready to go. And before you start, I wouldn't advice fighting in here. Right now you're outnumbered." She gave a knowing smile as an ANBU operative entered the room from behind them. Giving them the idea that they were being watched, that she wasn't underestimating them so they shouldn't underestimate her. "Nobu's last request to me was simple. Not be too harsh and I do take into consideration that you were basically children when you joined that ungrateful bastard so hence I'm going to give you a choice."

"If you leave this room, right now you are to be escorted out of the village by two ANBU operatives never to return. Your ranks and privilege's will be stripped. You decide to come back you will be hunted down and killed. You decide to try continues Nobu's work in this country. You will be hunted down and killed." She leaned back in her chair with a sigh "Or, you can stay and hear to the punishment that will be given in accordance to Leaf's Laws." Her scythe slowly materializing in her hand. "Don't worry, it won't be death if that's what you're worried about." She looked at each of them, having a few moments. "I can't trust you. You all decided to go against your own village and now must pay the consequences. So, what will your choice be?"

Just as he was starting to fall asleep, his head would tumble and wake up, seeing Shun get inside. "Hold that damn tongue... I ain't that crap.." He said but as soon as the others came in, his head would be tumbling. He was honestly trying for the fact to keep awake. After all, this would probably just be another little word change a slap on the wrist, or worse... The fact that he heard about Nobu being killed... Didn't bode well with the young adult. He was probably the youngest if not the second youngest.

Glaws grew out of his fingertips and within just a moment he unleashed his demonic aura, his curse seal started to spread along the body and he stood up, the cup had already shattered under his grasp mainly a gravity grasp... He was an exceptional shinobi in the Taijutsu arts, but once his seal kicked in, he was excelling too in the ninjutsu arts. Shion was one, that was easily hot-headed and soon not thinking straight. But... to hear that his brother and the person he looked up to... died... He did not only accept it, it went blank in his head. "You said?" Around his hand electric sparks were regenerating and he... could potentially follow up with a tai gen combination he had as a devil's trick.

Shun took in Asuka's words calmly, seeing that Shion was losing his calm quickly. It sounded like Asuka was claiming she had offed Nobu. As possible as it was, Shun didn't feel that was the case. He couldn't be sure since he and the rest of the clan left Nobu alone there. It was time to make another decision, and Shun was afraid he might be alone in his choice.

He wasn't turning his back on his Clan, but his orders were to aid here in Leaf. It was all he could do now, to follow Nobu's orders. He would simply have to risk it all.

Shun placed his hand on Shion's shoulder, ignoring the strength of the demonic aura and how unnerved it made him feel. "Calm down, Shion. Now isn't the time to lose your temper." He squeezed Shion's shoulder once before dropping his hand and stepping forward, bowing his head to Asuka.

"I apologize for not adhering to your orders, Lady Fifth. It was never my intention to go against you or the village. I will take whatever punishment you deem necessary to prove myself to Konoha."

Sumiko felt hatred burning inside of her has she listened to the Hokage speak, Nobu may have been things but never in his plotting and planning did he have any intention of bring harm to Leaf Village, she clenched her fist the anger building inside her but she wasn't going to let emotions get the better of her or see her lose her cool, she placed her had in her pocked feeling the cold hard metal of her headband, she look it out looking at it in her hand, it only made her more angry, slamming it onto the desk she looked at Asuka, a fire burned behind her eyes.

"You are a murderer and a hypocrite Lady Asuka, you sit here the blood of the man that I call brother drying on your hands and offer us tea all while claiming that we are the ones that cannot be trusted. How dear with sit there on your high horse brandishing a weapon and say that we are the one in the wrong? I have had everything taken from me in my time here and now you want me to bend the knee and accept punishment for wanting freedom from this place? You are either stupid or extremely naïve to think that would happen." She turned and walked towards the door, stopping next to Shun. "if I ever see your face again Shun I will pluck out your eyes and feed then to the crows." Her voice quiet and cold, whatever feeling of family that she had towards the boy were gone in her mind he was dead to her, she continued walking towards the door slamming it behind her.

Za's face would twist with rage within his spirit. Though, it was that moment that he recalled a conversation he'd had with Nobu, or rather whilst hearing Nobu speak to him in one of those damp nights in the alleys.... 'There will be those who try to tear and rip us apart. And therein lies the devotion I need from you. Can I trust that you will always help my ambition become our ambition?' Za felt like this was Nobu pulling puppet strings of the Hokage to get a reaction to seeing who was truly going to do the things he'd set out to do. What Asuka didn't know, and wouldn't understand is that Za knew Nobu the longest from all of the people in the clan. There was no boundary to the devotion and trust Za had placed into Nobu and vice versa. However, with Shion's initial reaction Za would stand up and form hand seals quickly before attempting to place the seal on morality on Shion to lock away his darkness for the time being.

"Shion! ENOUGH!", placing the seal right on the small of his back, causing Shion's cursed chakras to seize up and halt immediately it might've even put the guy to sleep as he was letting out so much chakra at once. Za would then turn to Shun with a frown, "Oi, This one needs more than a pat on the back to calm down... If there is a next time, I certainly hope you'll be able to react with more of a backbone...", however, this pause in focus to Shion would cause the boy to fall forward with his face smacking the desk of Asuka before sliding down to the floor.

"OUCH... That's gonna sting...", shaking his head and pulling the boy over his shoulder with a huff, Sumiko would speak out to Asuka, and her words would be calloused and harsh, but truthful if Asuka had truly killed Nobu. Which would cause Za to look at Asuka once again, trying to analyze why she would kill him and not have anything to show for it. No emblem. No Chakra infused anything. Just a severed hand. It all didn't sit right with Za, to a point he was not beginning to believe it. Not because he didn't believe Asuka couldn't kill Nobu, but the situation they had left him in didn't seem to be one he couldn't get out of with the brilliant brain he seemed to have at his disposal. And by that, he meant the amount of Genjutsu the man possessed. If Asuka killed him that would mean the man that showed up was someone that was to help Asuka? No. The way he showed up he seemed to be on Nobu's side... but alas, there was plenty of things that would go into that line of thinking...

"...I find that laughable, unlike my other clansmen here... To think you would have the grit needed to kill Nobu and not have something to show for it? Honestly, it looks like you barely made it out with your life... Because you seem like the type to 'carry a head on a pike' to show off what you've done to keep people from doing the same. But, I digress... I'll play along for now. I would like to be escorted out of the village. And may you never see my face again. But you know it doesnt matter, once we leave we are free... and that is always the goal for those that feel shackled...", nodding he would hoist Shion up and correct his grip. Looking to Shun, maybe he was following what Nobu said, maybe he was a coward? Za would find out eventually... he'd only give the boy a nod before heading out behind Sumiko with Shion in Tow.

Asuka took a sip from her tea as she listened to them speak first. Well, Shion basically lost it and it was kind of cute how Shun decided to try and calm the sealed on by patting him on the back. She gave a sigh. "Man, that was a nice cup." She simply said with a sigh as she turned to the next contender.

Again with the individualistic point of view. It always concerned her how Shinobi in these day and age rarely saw anything aside from themselves. Rarely even attempted to look at the bigger picture, she did understand how the lose of a loved one might affect one but a hypocrite? high horse? It genuinely worried her who Nobu had with him. Although they made for great companions they didn't make for great replacements. She simply gave Sumiko a warm smile as she walked out the door, turning to the last contender.

Zatoru, on the other hand, was smarter yet quick witted and outspoken which was a weakness. Although he had the right idea he jumped the gun and missed the whole point. She sighed as he finished talking. Such a waste. Oh well, they made their decision. Once the door closed behind them Asuka gave a smile as she started to unwrap the bandage, her "missing" hand stretched. She giggled "Such an old-fashioned trick." She spoke looking back at Shun "It's kind of funny how we can literally detect the slight difference in individual chakra signatures but can't tell if a hand is missing or not." She smiled looking at her hand. "Always been a fan of the classics."

"In any case."
She cleared her throat looking back at Shun, pushing over a piece of paper and a quill for him to write. "Firstly, Shion needs to get his curse under control. Not only is that a danger to himself but also to his fellow clansmen. If he goes all ballistic again and it's the wrong situation it might get you all killed." She took a sip from her tea "Sumiko is smart but she needs to see the bigger picture. Leaf took everything from her yet can't see the reason why I was saying what I was saying? I would suggest diplomatic missions, help her understand that words are as powerful as jutsus in some situations." She cleared her throat. "On that hand, Zatoru is smarter. But he jumps the gun too quickly without having the full picture, makes judgments about people that are stupidly wrong. Basically shoots blindly hoping something sticks, let him know that he better think before speaking."

"Finally, y'all need to learn to listen."
She laughed, cleaning the small tears coming from her eyes. "I never once stated that I killed Nobu. I sad that I took care of the problem, which I did. It would be very counter-productive to kill my future husband don't you think."

She took a sip from her tea, shaking her head. "Oh, right. You. If you want to sell the whole "double-agent" fiasco make sure you have come up with a plan with your clansmen on how to sell it. Sumiko had the right idea by basically giving you a death threat but Zatoru didn't even give a huff? You're all supposed to be family, one of you basically betrays the others and not one once of reaction? God, you kids have a lot to learn." She took one more sip from her tea. "Although I gotta say. This was more entertaining than I originally thought."

Shun accepted the paper and quill, taking notes of everything Asuka stated without hesitation. He was glad his idea of Nobu not being that weak happened to hold true. Even more of a surprise was the reveal of her "missing" hand, which wasn't missing in the slightest. Surely couldn't have been comfortable, but he appreciated the commitment she had to her story.

Upon mention of him being a double agent, Shun felt his cheeks go red in embarrassment. "Lady Asuka, I must be honest with you...I have no idea what I've gotten myself into." He sighed as he finished notating all of her comments on their responses to the option she gave, setting the quill down. "I grew up with those four, went through an exam with Shion on my team and developed...acquaintances with the other three."

Shun smiled a bit as he thought about how Sumiko reacted to his decision. "I don't know if any of them think highly of me at all...I honestly don't even know why I was brought into the equation to begin with. I'm nothing more than a beginner shinobi with the dream to return my mother to the village and become a Med-Nin to help those in need."

Shun didn't honestly know why he was pouring out his little story to the Hokage herself, especially with how...fishy this entire situation was in the first place. Shun simply felt that honesty was the best approach he could muster. He realized they all had a lot to learn as a clan, a family if he could even consider himself part of it. "Thank you for offering them a peaceful option to leave. However...I have to ask, what do you have in mind for my punishment?"

Asuka sighed as Shun spoke. It seemed as though he was quite inexperienced. It was probably the same way for the others and she felt bad for the decision she had to take but having people that she couldn't trust and didn't have the village's best interest at heart only became a liability. That was a risk she couldn't afford. Scratching the back of her head she sighed.

"Here's the thing." She started "There's nothing worse than not being content with what you're doing. If it feels wrong, you don't agree with it, you don't want to do it then don't. I know it sounds simple but it isn't, is it? I understand the family bond, it's a strong one that makes you want to help those you love. Look at the rest of your clan. They chose their family over the village, I respect that... I understand that a lot better than most." She smiled, remembering her own times where she fought against her superiors for the sake of those she cared about. "Let me explain something to you. I'm not resentful, I want my shinobi to be whatever makes them happy. A pitiful and sad Shinobi is just canon foder for the village and I can't have that, I can't live with the idea that I'm keeping people from being who they are." She sighed "But I can't have Shinobi who will become a risk that will hurt rather than benefit the village. If the village becomes an obstacle, they won't hesitate to harm those I'm duty bound to protect... Hence why I gave them the choice. I tricked them to see how they would react with the choice thrust upon them without the thing that brought them together in the first place. They chose family, that's respectable." She nodded

She leaned forward "You on the other hand are different. Your dreams clash against each other. So, I'll help you with that. Your mother can be my assistant. I've been meaning to find one since the last one quit to invest all her time to her family. I can provide housing for three months while she finds her own place. That can be taken care of easily. As for the med-nin aspect, I can have you turn to Nao and start training to become one. That's no issue either."

She sighed taking a sip from her tea. "Unfortunately that comes at a price. Being a Leaf Med-nin means that you place Fire country citizens and shinobi above all else. If the time comes where you have to chose between the clan and Leaf... it has to be Leaf. BUT, once your training is complete you can chose to leave the village honorably. I can guarantee that no matter what you do, your mother will always have a place in this village. So, to summarize. From the point you start training till you decide to leave your allegiance is to leave. Any questions?"

Shun listened as Asuka spoke of her respect to the others in the clan, and he came to the realization that he might have just betrayed them all with his decision. He hoped they would come to understand his reasoning soon, but there was no telling what his future held after his decision. Upon mention of his mother, Shun tuned in again, listening to the options he had to chase his dreams within the village. Asuka even gave him the option to leave at some point, if that was his choice.

"I would love to work with Nao and start pushing for the Med-nin position," he spoke with a nod, accepting her suggestion. "As for my mother being your assistant...there is a bit of an issue. You see...my mother has been missing for years now. About seven or so, I believe. Everyone thinks she's dead, but there was no body returned to the village. I know the chances are slim, but I want to grow strong enough to go out there and search for her, bring her back home."

Shun smiled softly, reaching up to mess with his braid before remembering that he had cut it off earlier in the year to aid in training. Old habits die hard. "When I do bring her back, though, I'm sure she would love to assist the Hokage and return to living with my father in our little home." He also felt she would be extremely disappointed if he chose to leave Leaf behind, but that was a bridge he would cross when he came to it.

Asuka smiled disappeared for a brief second, she could understand the need to find your loved ones. Or the emptiness they leave behind, she wouldn't be able to destroy this girl's dreams by telling her that it was futile.... the chances of her mother being alive were basically impossible... but... she had been like that. Her smile returned a nano second later. "Well! It's settled then." She spoke taking out a piece of paper and grabbing her quill as she started writing. She always liked people that aspired to be what they wanted to be. Clearing her throat. She folded the letter and sealed it. Handing it over to Shun.

"With this you have been moved to the medic branch as a trainee, go to Nao for your first assignment." She took a sip from her tea as she leaned back on her chair. "And next time you see Nobu, let him know that he gonna pay for the wedding with that casino money. I ain't wasting a cent on his charades." She laughed as she turned on her chair a couple of times.

Shun knew his dreams were far out of reach, but watching as Asuka wrote up a quick letter for him to take to Nao gave him a sense of relief. It seemed that he wasn't hated by the Hokage...yet. He would have to decide where his loyalty lied in the future, but for now he was in the clear. And not only that, but promoted to MIT just like that? It was a step in the right direction at least.

"Thank you, Lady Asuka," he spoke with a small smile, bowing his head in a respectful thanks. He nodded to the message he was to give to Nobu, smiling a bit more at her seemingly carefree laugh at the situation. It was a tad humorous, he had to admit, even if he was scared for his life for a moment there.

With a bit of a pep in his step, Shun pocketed the letter he received, planning to make a visit to Nao later to deliver the letter and prepare for his next level of training. He gave one more bow to the Hokage before heading to leave the office.
