[OOC: Mission 38 - Solve a mystery for Pinchy the Crab and his Clam army in Bear Country to make a point.]
The village had received word that a shinobi was being requested for a B-Rank mission. It was different from most though, it was being requested by a terror from the depths.
Pinchy the Crab.
Pinchy was a creature which had first shown up in Port Cirrus nearly 40 years earlier. His reign of destruction along the coast as he commanded a clam army had led to a trio being sent out to stop him. The three shinobi sent were Enjeru, a shinobi of great renown at the time of the combat and two shinobi who would surpass him in this respect. The first being a young Genin named Hayata Shin, not known for his combat ability, and a young ANBU in Training named Akira Saito. Two who would become Raikage, and who would achieve great things in their own way.
Still, this time it was Pinchy who had requested the aid of the village this time. The mission request was to do with a more inland country, Bear Country, and to do with solving a problem that was hampering Pinchy. Of course the village was dubious. Aiding a previous adversary wasn't the usual way they went about things, so Junan was being sent with the ability to turn down the mission should it not be in the villages best interests. His record showed that he would make the right choice.
As Junan arrived on the rocky coast at the bottom of a sheer cliff that looked like it could crumble at any moment, and yet had stood for hundreds of years, he was curious as to what he would find here. Time passed and the meeting time due close. Junan looking out across the water waiting for the arrival of the crab.
Suddenly there was an abnormality.
The water began to boil, bubbles appearing at first in the distance across the bredth of the view that Junan could see. It closed in, till eventually the surface of the water was broken by a horde of clams, quickly followed by a monsterous crab. The eyes at the end of the stalks looked down at Junan, the salt water dripping off of his thick carapace. Massive claws that looked like they could bite into a whale with jagged tearing spines across them. Vicious, and Junan couldn't help but feel like he needed to step backwards at the sight of the monster that was at least twice as old as he.
Sharp noises filled the air Click, click, clackity clack clack click! It said.
I see. Said Junan.
Clickity clack. Clack clickity clackity click clack.
Ah. Understandable.
Clack click?
Yes. But how do you intend to pay?
The giant crab turned around looking towards the ocean, another trail of bubbled told Junan that something else was approaching. This time breaking the surface was a treasure chest, Pinchy's smaller claw moved and with deceptive delicacy opened it to show Junan a wealth of gold and jewels.

More than enough. I will investigate and will meet you back here to report my findings.
With that Junan went off to find out why several rivers which had once flowed out of Marsh had dried up. The minerals had been rich and helped feed the millions of souls which Pinchy was responsible for, and so he was concerned with what was going on. Pinchy had heard troubling news that though the rivers ended from Marsh they originated further inland, in Bear and had been stopped by a large dam.
Junan was tasked with investigating. But he would report to the village first as he moved across the landscape.
Hello sirs, Junan here reporting from the Pinchy case. He would like me to investigate the situation of two rivers which he and his people had relied on for sustenance. I believe it's worth checking out. Also he has gold, and plenty of it to pay with. He waited for their response Yes. Yes. Uh-huh. Very well.
The orders were received. He was to not only perform the task requested but go beyond the call of duty. It seemed that the dam were causing trouble in Marsh as well, by breaking them down it would please more than just Pinchy and he would need to make sure that it was known that Cloud had taken part. It would likely place a strain on the relationship with Bear and Star Village, but for Cloud's income it would be beneficial. There were no new settlements along the paths, though some farms would likely be flooded minimal casualties would be caused.
Moving up the river he found the dam, there were people inside, and so he waited. Not that he cared about them of course, but he needed there to be survivors, witnesses so that his actions would be recorded. It seemed to be break time as he witnessed dozens of people moving out of the large construction. Darting across its surface he was wearing traditional Cloud shinobi uniform, making sure his symbol was seen. Whispers went out, and once he knew he was recognized he raised his hand, a spinning vortex forming in his palm.
You have ten seconds. That was all the warning they would get. It would take longer than that to reach the exits, but he didn't care.
They turned and fled... running almost in slow motion. Half-way towards either bank Junan expanded the jutsu, suddenly it was massive he jumped over the edge with five seconds still to go. The people had maybe twenty meters to run, but it was too late. The massive rasengan slammed into the construction. It was tiny against its surface, but Junan knew it was all he would need. The impact shook the dam, cracks appearing along its surfaces. Now Junan was standing before what would be a gigantic wall of water... so he used IERL.
The moment when the dam broke could be felt under the earths surface and felt like a punch to the stomach... despite Junan not having one.
Moving sideways he found himself a location where he felt he could rise to the surface safely.
Heading back to the agreed meeting place he met with Pinchy once more. As expected the Crab was most pleased with the news and payed additional amounts for the river returning. With the clicks and clacks of thanks Junan was told he would be asked for should they require anything else.
And so began the working relationship between Pinchy and Junan.
