Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Hoshi had summoned two students who had recently come to meet. Both of whom were on the verge of graduating from the academy as he did so long ago. He was excited for them. He summoned them via a messenger. A tiny otter, no taller than a couple feet who was agile on his toes. To each of them individually he sent a hand written message and detailed map to the students.
oshawott_is_good_by_kol98-d5k3wf7.png

The otter would say nothing, only show a highly determined face as if to physically say without words, 'I'm on a mission!' Once each individual took the note, the young otter would dart off in a small cloud of smoke. His tiny little legs making a run for it as fast as he could, even though he may not have seemed like much. The letter that Doi and Eishi would have been given was a rolled up scroll with an insignia on it. It would be two Japanese characters that read, 'Enten No Seishin', which could be transliterated as, 'Blazing Spirit.' The letter would have been written in very clean handwriting stating:
"A time will come when the call to duty will be asked, and you will have to answer. I have prepared a place to train and find your inner strength. Arrive at your leisure before sun down. "
.

The map was drawn in detail next to the writing starting from borders of the forest. It suggested following the main trail the entire way to the Yamanaka greenhouse. It gave precise directions to cut off from the man trail, which would normally send you back toward the village, and walk the coast of the stream nearby. A large X would appear close on the map, but even closer on foot as they would have already come into view of the massive hidden dojo.

Hoshi would be inside awaiting their arrival. It was large inside, with a variety of weapons of all different classifications and uses. Hoshi had scrolls galore, all things he had bought or rented from the public library at the academy or the Torre. Hoshi stood stoic and took a deep breath, exhaling he swiftly wove a series of many seal and nicked his thumb with a bite. He drew blood, then slammed his fist into the ground of his dojo.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A large diagram appeared with strange symbols and illuminated with incandescent light. This radiated until it produced a thick flume of smoke that revealed an enlarged and fully grown Mizu. He landed with a heavy thud, escaping his natural realm within the heartland of Kaminari no Kuni, into this dimension of humans and shinobi alike. The giant otter stood at sixteen feet, with lean muscle and golden yellow armor adorning his waist and legs, his shoulders and forearms, and a helmet with the horn of an ancient Narwhal.

Mizu: "Hoshi-Kun"

"Mizu-San."

The two nodded at each other and stoo side by side.

Doi was peacefully seated on a wooden bench near the village's shopping area. He'd just bought himself some snacks from a nearby store, and saught to enjoy them straightaway. His plan went out the window once a small otter caught his eye. The little otter seemed to be quickly making its way towards him. Doi figured this must have been a special occasion. Otters definitely weren't common in Kumogakure, so it must've been a shinobi summoning animal. Maybe it was one of Hoshi's summons? The long-haired boy was the only person Doi knew that had a contract with the otters.

The small otter handed Doi a scroll upon reaching his location and quickly took off. The stunned boy looked down at the scroll he was handed, and looked back up to see the small cloud of smoke the tiny otter left behind. 'Well, that was strange.'

Without a second thought, Doi immediately opened the suspicious scroll he was given. He was curious what the scroll's contents had to do with him. Inside was a neatly written message and a map. Doi's attention was instantly grabbed by the words 'training' and 'inner strength'. It seemed like he was being summoned for another training session in the Ancient Forest.

"Alright, guess I'll head for the forest. My snacks can wait." The boy stretched as he got up from the wooden bench and pocketed the letter; as well as the snacks he'd bought. He then took off towards the forest in a sprint.

The instructions weren't too hard for to follow, so the whitehaired boy eventually ended up at a massive hidden building after a while of searching. "This must be the place."

Doi proceeded to open the massive building's door and walk in without delay. He was greeted by the sight of his long-haired acquaintance, Hoshi and a large Otter in golden yellow armor.

It had been a strange morning. Well not really, but I hadn't expected the small otter. It took me a moment to recognize where I had seen this small creature before, I recalled roughly a twenty minute period about two weeks ago after about a minute. I remembered a guy around sixteen had caused a ruckus, It started with him refereeing a fight between two students and concluded by him teaching me the body replacement technique and kicking me into gear on my own education. Learning other jutsus had been most of my life these last two weeks, but it appeared he wanted me to actually take him up on that offer he made in passing. I recalled thinking about going to this dojo a few times a week and a half ago but decided against it. Seemingly from there, visiting had slipped my mind entirely. I don't think I was going to get much of a choice time this time, especially if he knows where I lived. Hell, my description as a one-armed cripple would probably be enough to ID me if he didn't already know my name when I thought about it.

As I walked into the entrance of dojo I was told about, I noticed the grandness of this building and knew I was in the right place. When I saw the name "Blazing Spirit" carved deep into its sign, I was able to confirm my location. What a cliche name... right, that is what he is like I considered as I continued on inside.

/the first thing I saw when I entered the dojo was an older kid, he looked motivated enough, but I hadn't expected someone else. birds of a feather? I wondered about the kid before noticing where he was looking. I followed his gaze and saw the teen named Hoshi chatting away with what I could only assume was his summon, I knew something was up, likely the two of them, myself and this kid, would be forced to fight his summon or something. Whatever, let's see what this training session is about.

The doors finally opened to reveal first, Akimitsu Doi, and then a seemingly inquisitive Eishi. Mizu and Hoshi looked at each other, they exchanged some words in private and Mizu nodded. There was silence before there was a greeting. The full grown Mizu took his leave to stand with the students. For, he too was still a student although he had fully evolved into his last form which would maximize his already stellar combat ability. Hoshi cleared his throat covering his mouth his right fist. He looked to the three, his pale hyuuga eyes examining each one of them as he allowed his hand to return to his side.

"The three of you... right here, right now. Will forge your spirits in the heat of combat. We are shinobi... shinobi of Kumogakure. It's better you learn this lesson from someone who cares about you, then to experience this alone on the battlefield for the first time! Eishi, Doi! You are the youth of astounding village. EMBRACE IT! After the old has passed it is you will become stronger than the ones who taught you! My sensei are shinobi or world wide renown, I too desire the same. Not for personal gain, but for our village. To establish a surviving hope. Carve into your hearts, your own resolution to this life. Find your resolve, your warrior spirit! Mizu!"

Mizu: "Hai!'

Mizu looked over to the two and took an odd stance, leaning forward with his left, from his hip he unsheathed a blade from the fang of monstrous water beast. His necklace glowed with shimmering teal of ocean blue. He yelled out to the kids.

Mizu: "Master Hoshi intends to whole nothing back. He will come at us with his all. Now is the time to unleash the spring time of youth and be courageous!"

Hoshi grinned looking upon the three with his fist beneath his chin clenched he chuckled. The pale eyes of the hyuuga became flooded with thick veins as his vision enhanced to bless him with black light view of everyone's chakra signature. Mizu lowered in stance and dashed toward Hoshi. In the time of closing distance Hoshi opened the gate of Limit and View with a burst of chakra and aura that blinded Mizu and stifled his movements, Hoshi flicked away behind Mizu in an instant. Hoshi's eyes had changed from pale grey to pure white. His muscles expanded slightly, a pale blue fiery aura mixed of steaming sweat and his willpower burned bright with the spring time of youth. Hoshi then sent a round house kick toward Mizu connecting with a sick thud sending Mizu crashing into the dojo wall, but hitting a reflective barrier causing no damage to the wall. Mizu groaned and was back up in seconds dashing again. Hoshi surged his aura with his another burst of energy and a yell, opening the gate of wonder as aura grew in size and intensity.

"Hachimon, TONKOU!

Doi nodded towards Mizu once the shinobi otter joined him and Eishi in standing in front of Hoshi. The whitehaired academy student was surprised that such a seemingly powerful summon still required some training, but wouldn't voice his thoughts externally. Hoshi gave the group of trainees in front of him an uplifting pep talk and initiated the training session. Mizu took a battle stance and unsheathed his fascinating blade from its holster. Mizu then speedily took off towards Hoshi with a dash. The longhaired boy unleashed some bright chakra at that instant and temporarily disoriented the armor clad otter. He then instantly appeared behind Mizu through the use of a quick burst of speed. A quick kick from him was all it took to send Mizu flying towards the dojo wall. The large otter didn't seem to be bothered by the attack because he would immediately get back up after hitting the reflective barrier. He would once again be engaging Hosi through the use of a dash.

"I'll need to join in and help Mizu."

Doi knew the otter wouldn't be able to handle Hoshi on his own. The point of him and his fellow trainees gathering at this dojo was to cooperate to take down Hoshi. Doi lowered himself into the standard academy battle stance and dashed towards the long-haired boy once Mizu pulled back. A swift upwards kick, and a few forward punches were sent Hoshi's way. None of the attacks seemed to be hitting their mark, but their purpose was to distract the long-haired boy while his partners joined in the fray. Doi disengaged and leapt back a couple of feet to gain some distance from Hoshi. Taijutsu wasn't working at all, so ninjutsu might prove more effective in this situation. He couldn't land a hit so using his thunderfist jutsu was out of the question. He'd have much more luck hitting with stormbolt.

Doi channeled condensed lightning chakra and pointed two fingers towards Hoshi's direction; unleashing a quick bolt of lightning. The bolt would only travel in a straight line, but it would hit the long-haired boy with luck.

Holy fuck Hoshi, you talk way too much was all I could think while he made an impassioned speech. I've heard that some people who like the sound of their own voice, but I'm pretty sure you like the smell of your own farts

I stared in fascination at Hoshi theatrics before his summon came and jumped to our side, the small creature so serious and stressed, ready to spring. I guessed this test was a far bigger deal to it then it was to either of us, or maybe I was the only one who wasn't taking this seriously? I concluded it was likely just me after a few moments of internal deliberation.

Well, this was my second guess as to how this session would go down, though honestly, it's just an inverse of my original guess so I give myself a half point I mused to myself in silence as I listened to what the small otter explain their current goal of taking down Hoshi. I already knew Hoshi was a user of the eight gates, so I very much doubted he'd be coming out with his all. This exercise for us was just a game for him to spend in his spare time. Seeing as I was mainly shaping up to become a taijutsu user, I figured this would mostly be beneficial to me. I wasn't expecting to hit him much, but leaving a good mark or two along with maybe getting some solid pointers would go a long way in saving me hours to correct any unseen issues with my fighting style.

It seemed that my partner in this little fight was also a bit of a taijutsu user, or at least seemed that way when he went in for a full out assault, I spent my time preparing my basic spear. I had picked this spear up a couple days ago to arm myself with. Over the past week or so, I had been training with it pretty diligently. I had practiced with a spear enough at the academy, enough to at least get the basic thrust down to a science, even as a one-armed cripple it hadn't limited me much. Unfortunately, I definitely didn't have much combat experience with it, only a handful of duels and spars under my belt with any spear. As I kept it steady, I did the necessary hand signs to amass and apply a controlled dose of chakra into the head of my spear, giving it a noticeable aura of lightning infused into the conductive metal. I quickly entered the fray once I was ready, careful to stay in a blind spot as I circled around Hoshi, coming up behind him and quickly going in for the flanking thrust. His thrust, coincidently, almost synced with the other students own lightning bolt on the other side of Hoshi.

Hoshi had engaged with Mizu again who had the Hachimon distracted enough to be unable to move. With his three hundred and sixty degree view he saw a bolt of lightning headed toward him. The same time Mizu was striking downward with his sword. Hoshi had stepped back and clicked his teeth, he placed himself directly into harm's way. The feeling of electrocution penetrated the young boy sending minor convulsions through his muscles. He was stunned, and then pierced by a spear from the flank by Eishi. Mizu weaved a series of hand seals quickly.

Mizu: "Suiton: Grand Hydra Bullet Jutsu!"

The result of his combination conjured up a terrifying water formation of a dragon. The dragon split into three heads roaring as Mizu launched the jutsu crashed into Hoshi with a sickening slam. The cascading force of the water dispersed into a thick fog of dissipating water. Once it all cleared, what once was Hoshi was now a large flock of ravens that flew above all over the dojo. There so many birds it blackened the light and provided shade until the ravens collided with each other and formed two clones of Hoshi, but Mizu was not fooled. He wove the same signs and sent another three headed dragon, the clones couldn't escape and were struck, dispersing into a thick black smoke.

Hoshi stood adjacent some feet away smirking.

"Is this the limit of your warrior spirit?!"

Stormbolt effectively hit its mark and electrocuted the target. The stunned Hoshi was then pierced by Eishi's spear. The armor clad shinobi otter unleashed its own jutsu towards Hoshi after completing the required set of hand signs. A large three-headed dragon made of water launched itself towards the longhaired boy and struck him with a loud slam. Doi watched as the thick fog that followed the water jutsu cleared up. There was a chance that the combination would've effectively hurt Hoshi, but the elder boy was still an experienced shinobi. He'd probably found a way to escape the brunt of the combination's damage. Doi's assumption proved to be correct, because what once had been Hoshi was now a flock of crows. 'Was it a clone the whole time?'

Dioi watched in awe as the group of ravens combined to form two clones of Hoshi. Mizu wove the same hand signs from his prior jutsu, and used it once again. Another three-headed dragon made of water roared as it made its way towards the two clones. A thick black smoke was all that was left of the clones once they'd been hit. Doi had to hold back the urge to sigh once he saw the original Hoshi standing a few feet away from them. 'Why can't this ever be easy?' He wasn't surprised that the longhaired boy had gotten away unscathed, but a part of him was hoping it would at least faze the boy.

Doi knew that Hoshi's use of clones would prove to be a hindrance in this battle. The best counter would be to get Hoshi to use up as much chakra as possible and tire himself out. Doi would need to provided a rapid onslaught of jutsu to force Hoshi to keep using shadow clones. Stormbolt isn't a very taxing jutsu. He might just be able to wear down his opponent just using stormbolt before getting tired himself.

Doi channeled his lightning chakra to his finger tips and let off another bolt of lightning in Hoshi's direction. 'My partners will play a big role in wearing him down too. I'll need to play my role efficiently!'

It seemed that Hoshi was just going to take it all to the face. I liked a man who does something stupid like that and doesn't look the fool afterward. It's a dominance thing and I could respect it, though I reflected that intimidation didn't really work on me like it used to. Seems I grew up a bit in the last year I mused.

Before I could act, it seemed the summon had dispelled two clones, ravens then obscuring visibility as they were destroyed before Hoshi reappeared to one side and egged us all on. Well, that was a weak verbal jab. Eh?... it seemed to have gotten the other student motivated. I winced as I watched Doi really getting into this fight, a serious look on his face.

"You only survived because your head is as thick as a phonebook." I finally retorted, having jumped back after delivering the electrified stab into Hoshi's chest, his steel-like rubber skin meeting the end of my spear. It seems he isn't going to counter or retort, so I questioned the point in this exercise if we could've done the same on a dummy. I mean, this could be for teamwork between three people, but there were better ways. Wait, maybe he didn't think that far ahead? Eishi wondered as he reapplied the lightning onto the end of his spear. Whatever, if this is some'work together' kumbaya j bullshit I'll take it for what it is.

Almost as if on a queue, the other student went for another assault, I took the time to quickly circle around to Hoshi's flank once again, coming at him almost exactly as I had before, this time, however, I fainted my thrust before pulling back and sweeping my spear under and over my head, coming down with an electrified overhead strike.

The frying pan grew hot as water mixed with oil and the spirits of the room were raging like a flame. The entire time Hoshi held back from attacking the youth out of restraint. Another storm bolt came his way colliding with his arms formed like a X. Hoshi swung his arms to the side deflecting the bolt to the side. He turned quickly to see the tip of a spear and brought his hand just beneath the blade, he used Eishi’s momentum and allowed him to fall through, with an extra push. That’s when Hoshi became still, frozen.

In the distance the kids could see Mizu with a tiger seal held and focusing intently on Hoshi. He had performed a chakra bind which limited Hoshi’s movement. He was not able to attack further, he could only react, and in no way could he manifest chakra. He looked around, he was gritting his teeth attempting escape while Mizu began breaking a sweat trying to hold him down.

Mizu: “Now! In unison! Come with your all!!!”

(175 wc)

A slight frown formed on Doi's face when he saw Hoshi brush off his bolt of lightning so easily. 'He deflected it like it was nothing...' Stormbolt was an E-rank jutsu that didn't consume too much chakra, and was easy for an academy student like Doi to use. It was for all intents and purposes an ineffective jutsu that wasn't meant to be used against an opponent as strong as Hoshi. Doi still couldn't help but think that it would've been nice if the jutsu did slightly more damage, though. Hoshi immediately engaged Eishi after blocking Doi's jutsu and managed to use the spear wielder's momentum against him. The whitehaired academy student then noticed when Hoshi suddenly froze mid movement. This was a very strange occurrence because it seemed unwarranted. Doi briefly wondered what was wrong with the long-haired boy, until he suddenly spotted Mizu off in the distance holding the tiger hand seal. The armor clad shinobi otter managed to hit Hoshi with chakra binding jutsu. Hoshi was now much more vulnerable because his movement was restricted. 'Just what we needed!'
Mizu said:
“Now! In unison! Come with your all!!!”

"Roger that!"

Now was Doi's chance to get in close and use his favorite jutsu in his small repertoire. His prized thunderfist jutsu. Hoshi's limited movement would make it much easier for Doi to properly strike him.
A quick dash was all the academy student needed to close the gap between him and his opponent. He knew he needed to make this attack work. The group of trainees might be able take out Hoshi if both Doi and Eishi manage simultaneously attack him.

Doi performed the necessary hand signs mid dash, and channeled his lightning chakra to his right hand. He jumped into the air once he perceived that Hoshi was within range and went to strike the longhaired boy. "We've got you now!"

"Hoshi 'the Masochist' has a nice ring to it~" I mused as I went in for another lightning imbued stab to the back. My spear elongated in almost a crane style, left arm stretched and tight and my right leg up to keep my balance. I quickly left the form regaining my balance and readying myself for a quick retaliation.

I could've gone for his head, but that's more effort and had a higher chance of missing. A nice jab into the chest, especially the back, was always hard to dodge. The center of a person was always the easiest part to track. Seeing as Hoshi was current bound, I doubted I was going to miss as I once more timed my hit for right after Dio had unleashed his own form of the same jutsu. The one-two of the combo should do effectively well to put Hoshi off balance, even if for just a moment. That, however, was assuming it went off without incident. Murphy's law of combat was likely to change the status quo and I calculated that we'd just have to adjust. It was in the moment of thinking into the future that I decided to change up the fight a bit, the fight had been becoming a bit stale between both the other student's fighting style and my own practice with a spear.

I decided to retreat a few meters away, holstering my weapon behind my back, and leaving behind an explosive note on the ground beside Hoshi. I signaled to the others to clear out as best I could, for what I was instinctively guessing was the last attempt to really give Hoshi the once over. At this point, I could only hope to be so lucky that Hoshi wouldn't notice the small note. That he was too busy paying attention to us and not looking down or if we were lucky, he may even start monologuing.

Hoshi fought as much as he could as the attack was coming. Once Hoshi was targeted the bind was broken, but he was weakened and the students could tell by how slow he was weaving his final seals. Mizu began a combination of his own as water from the air formed and rose to the ceiling in the form of a dragon, wich Mizu froze into solid ice.

Hoshi slammed his hand into the ground, the same time Doi struck true, but the brunt of the attack was nullified by a cascading tempest of water and lightning which shielded Hoshi for a moment. Blood spilled from his wound, the dragon then exploded through his barrier creating surplus damage which caused Hoshi to stumble and step on an E note as he stumbled.

BOOM!

Hoshi flew into a wall, his back slamming hard as he fell to the floor weak. He pushed himself up lightly.

"Good work... guys... you... pass..."

Mizu rushed over, with his waters he began to heal Hoshi slightly.

Mizu: "Don't worry about him, the hachimon can recover from wounds. You two did great against him, even though he was holding back. I guess Hoshi was right to have such faith in the new generation."

After attempting to defeat Hoshi for a while, the longhaired boy eventually stepped on Eishi's explosive note and was sent flying into a wall.
Hoshi said:
"Good work... guys... you... pass..."

Doi let out a sigh of relief. They'd managed to take out Hoshi through the use of a simultaneous attack. "Finally..." Doi stood up to his full height and stretched. "Good work, team!"

Today's training session has been a success. He looked into his pouch and began to look for the treats he'd bought earlier. To his joy, the treats hadn't been damaged at all. He was going to make sure to enjoy them on his way back home. What better way to commemorate success than with some of Kumogakure's finest candy?

After saying his goodbyes to everyone present, Doi left the dojo and began his trek out of the ancient forest. It was getting kind of late, so he made sure to speed up his pace. There was no reason for him to be in the forest at night. It's much harder to run from wild animals at night when you can't see in the dark.

My instincts seemed to be paying off in spades today. My explosive note being the coup de gras of the whole show. Once we were informed of our passing I sighed and shook my head as Mizu told us his thoughts. “I asked around town on Hoshi, he’s like fourteen isn’t he? That the same generation as us by any sort of age grouping”.

I stretched my back out as I leaned side to side before doing a few core swings. “Thanks for the er-... 'practice session' Hosh. I still can’t tell if your masochistic or not though.” I smiled dryly as I pulled a smoke bomb out of my sleeve. If I was going to leave, I might as well do it the way I was taught. With a quick motion, I threw the ball on the ground.

Poof I was gone.
