Shashu could feel herself returning to a somewhat normal state of mind now that they had some distance from the village. There was no turning around and heading back after all, and she wasn't typically one to worry overmuch when there was nothing to be done. The return trip would be another story, but for now the cool mountain air went a long ways toward clearing her mind. She even found herself enjoying the trip once more; it wasn't every day that the village gave you licence to travel out of country, and it had been some time since she'd had the chance to spend time on the road. All things considered, it was looking to be a pleasant trip. If only the boys would quit sneaking peeks at her butt when they thought she wouldn't notice. It wasn't that she minded them looking or she'd have worn something less revealing, but the fact that they thought they were being sneaky about it made her want to roll her eyes.Maybe I should have asked Saito for some female companionship after all...it's a long way to Iwa with nothing around but testosterone.
