He was obsessing over eyes. It was because of that damn cat-man. Such interesting eyes. Junan wasn’t capable of creating eyes of course, I mean, he could create fake ones and paint them, but for them to be actually useable they would need the original eyes.
One day.
For now he’d found the next best thing. Someone had a set of eyes he’d heard of, but he’d not found in the bloodline banks of Kumogakure. They shined bright like a diamond, he’d found their light in this sea that was Suna, and Junan would choose to be happy.
He followed the young boy, he was barely a child, but already his kekkei genkai was awakened, like a shooting star, for Junan he was a vision of exstasy. Junan wanted to take those eyes, to hold them, and place them into his next puppet. He wanted those eyes to shine like diamonds in the sky.
As soon as Junan had seen the boy he knew that they would become one, that he would become part of Junan’s collection. Right away.
The child looked around innocently, having no idea that he and his mother were being stalked by a maniacal puppet who had marked him as a target. One which was fantasizing about how those eyes would look in a puppet.
In Junan’s mind he could only focus on how bright they would shine, how bright they shined now, tonight, how together Junan’s eyes would shine bright. The boys life would be snuffed out like a shooting star, but to Junan this was his ecstasy.
They got home and then Junan waited.
Night fell and the boy was placed in his bed. Junan watched as the curtains were drawn, and still he was not spotted, his stealth cloak shielding him from the mothers view. It was almost a shame as he had witnessed the love between mother and son. A memory rose in his mind, and was quickly squashed, barely forming before being crushed by who Junan was. It had been a long time since he let that memory take any hold over his mind.
Junan used his chakra to gently open the curtains and looked in on the boy from his perch. The boys head turned and his dazzling eyes shone in the moonlight. They seemed to look directly at Junan, yet the boy didn’t show surprise, wasn’t scared, they just simply stared out at where he sat.
Junan wondered if the boy could see him, and if he could exactly what would the boy see. Would he see a lion watching him sleep? Eventually his eyes closed and Junan moved closer to the boys window, opening it with kinetic jutsu he entered the room silently.
Closer to the boy he looked down, the child slept so peacefully, so fully. No. Junan wouldn’t kill this child, he had so much of his life left to live. No. Junan would simply take the eyes which belonged to him, and he would let the child live on. A parting gift from Junan to this stranger which had the eyes that Junan wanted.
His grin widened.
A gift from Junan. The boy should be honoured.
Kneeling by the boys bed Junan cast a genjutsu over him, his senses would be numbed, including his ability to feel pain, or see. Junan’s fingers pried open the eyes and Junan could see their sparkle. He sighed in wonder and joy as his fingers pressed against the eyeball, carefully drawing them out of the childs head before placing them in a jar filled with a liquid Junan had prepared earlier. Then as he was taking out the second one the boy called out to his mother.
He had woken up with Junan’s prying and couldn’t see. Understandably panic had set in. In addition Junan was holding his head still. The boy began screaming and Junan was questioning his decision to let the boy live. Still he took the second eye, and then left, looking back to watch as the light went on, and then hear the high pitched cry of the boy’s mother screaming.
Life’s highs.
Heading back to his house he went to place these eyes in his room. They would need to soak up the chakra that the liquid had been infused with before they could be placed in his puppet, otherwise they would simply rot and die. Also it was required to aid Junan’s control over them.
It would be an unusual puppet for Junan. The man Junan had killed for them was someone the girls seemed to look at a lot. In many ways that was why Junan had taken him. After all, if people were interested in him then surely he must be worth something. And Junan like for the things he had taken possession of to be valuable.
