Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Chronicles of the Mystic</COLOR>
“Who might you be?” questioned the colorful, oddly dressed man as he stared into a wooden basket. “Ah! I know. You're our watermelon. Our little Suika! We've been looking for you everywhere, my deary.” A devilish grin crept up on his face.

-- Years later --

“Suika! You're on in 10!” exclaimed a cheery voice. A crowd gathered around the village square with people of all ages. Villagers clapped, laughed, sang, and even boo'd as they watched multiple entertainers perform their individual skits. “Ow, I think I sprained my neck again...” cried the contortionists as he left the stage in some type of pretzel formation. There was never a dull day when Ringo's Fantastic Emporium of Flavorful Fruits were in town.

With a deep sigh, a light stretch, and a double pat to her face, the dark-skinned wonder was ready for her time in the spotlight. “Suika, deary, get out there and make papa some cash!” greedily squealed a slightly greyed version of the man mentioned at the introduction of this story. Suika rolled her eyes and scoffed. Would there ever be a day when Ringo wasn't so slimy? “Don't forget my cut, old man.” She reached for a set of studded daggers, holstered them on herself, and pointed the one on hand toward Ringo. “And stop calling yourself papa. It makes me feel like doing something more sinister with these blades of mine.” The man, costumed in an outfit he dubs “when sophistication meets a jester”, waved his arms in the air and chuckled nervously. “Now, now, deary! No need to threaten to peel that apple that feeds you. Break a leg!” Although a constant nuisance in her life and the one of the most deceitful con-artists she's ever laid eyes on, Ringo was right. He was key to her survival.

You see, Suika wasn't too sure of the details or the accuracy of the story told, but Ringo was the man who found her as an infant and took her in. Abandoned and left in a wooden basket not too far from a remote town located in Kaminari no Kuni, Ringo claimed that he tried to return her home, but no one was there. “Mommy and daddy weren't there?!” gasped a younger Suika at the time. “Nope. The town was perfectly intact, but all of its residents were gone as if they simply...” he gazed toward the ceiling as if in deep thought, “...vanished.” At the time, Suika believed every word he said. As she aged and learned of Ringo's true character, she began to collect suspicion about the validity of his story. “No, sweetheart, it's true! Ringo may be a rotten apple in the barrel, but I was there. It's unfortunately not a lie.” This information was shared by old man Zakuro, the only person in the troupe Suika somewhat trusted. She knew his candor wasn't one to question.

“Alright, time to knock their socks off and earn dinner.”

Ringo cartwheeled onto stage and flashily appeared to the audience. “Ladies and gentleman, boys and girl, gather 'round!” he announced as he prompted the crowd's attention. “Do not let her youth deceive you for inexperience. Found in the deserts of Wind Country and descendant to a clan of magical blade dancers, I am excited to introduce to you our headliner! I warn you – do not blink and be sure to cover your necks. Approaching is the beautiful, the talented, and the dangerous Magenta Twirler!!!” With bursts of confetti and streamers flying off the stage, the Magenta Twirler flipped onto stage with great aerial proficiency. As soon as she landed, Suika tossed out a series of blades and entered an acrobatic dance to the beat of the troupe's instrumentals. The precision of her knife throws were on point. For obvious reasons, there was no room for error in her routine. After riling up the masses, it was time for her to pull out her true showstopping stunts. “Such a beautiful crowd here today! Having fun, ladies and gents? I don't do this too often, well...” she pouted her face as if she's shared too much, “...nevermind. I mean, it's never be done. As the last of my tribe, no one has seen the Dance of Tsukiyomi's Maiden for nearly a century...”

“Do it!” screamed a villager. “Yes, show us!” asserted another. Soon, the whole crowd began to chant. “Moon dance, moon dance...!”

“What a lovely and lively crowd! And the hospitality and generosity you've showed my troupe so far has been way more than we could ever ask...” upon that cue, fellow gypsy members brought out buckets for people to toss wage in. Buckets started to be filled to the brim with currency – it was now time for the finisher “...but, what the heck!” She winked at the audience playfully, flipped onto center stage, and readied herself. “Prepare yourself for the never-before-seen Dance of Tsukiyomi's Maiden!”

Although quite the showman, Suika wasn't always so charismatic. In fact, it was her performer's mask, fueled by the need to survive, that was often showcased. The gypsy girl was no stick-in-the-mud by any means, but years on the road definitely hardened her more than other kids her age. In the short span of 10 years, Suika has been kidnapped, beaten, swindled, mocked, and sold out on numerous occasions. Most incidents were usually initiated and in direct relation to Ringo's ploys of avarice. The troupe was no place for a child, but she hardly had a choice. Regardless, Suika did what she had to do to survive. Her hands were tainted with spilled blood and her eyes were numb to tragedy. She was aged mentally and well passed her developmental marker.

In an instance, her elaborately detailed routine was over. The villagers chucked yen her way, gave her praise and adoration, and, as sun set, made their way to their homes. It was a day like any other; there was nothing truly special about it. Suika yawned and slumped on over to the caravan – she was beat. Right before she was about to enter her home on wheels, she overheard Ringo chattering excitedly in the distance. <COLOR color="maroon">“HOW MUCH?!?!” Well, he wasn't in secrecy. She heard him clear his throat with a cough, which was a usual precursor to him hustling some unfortunate buffoon. “You see, the twerp- I mean, the girl is my daughter. Although a generous offer, that will never be enough to hand her away. She's my pride and joy!”

Uh-oh.

Suika dashed toward the emptied stage only to witness the head of Ringo's Emporium of Flavorful Fruits, Ringo himself, bargaining with what looked like shinobi from Kumogakure. “Sir, we are aware of the sentiments and the value she is to you, but the offer given was weighted based off our reading of her chakra potential with our CPSS. In fact, we pulled even more strings after you denied our last offer. We can no longer budge...” Ringo interrupted the man. “But you can! You saw the way she performed up there. I guarantee you, that knife proficiency is not limited to the arts. She's a heartless little killer.” Suika winced. She knew exactly what was happening, what was going to follow, and what she had to do. She had heard enough.

“Sir, now now, don't force us to raise our hand. This can get ugly-”

“No need.” asserted the magenta-eyed girl sternly. “This man is not my father. In fact, I'm sure he kidnapped me at infancy and has made me dance for chump change since. ” That last bit was a lie. Ringo was no semblance of what a father was, but he never forced her to perform. She was simply good at it and worked what she had. “However, I guess I owe him my life, so award him any wage you deem fair. I'll pack my belongings.” And just like that, Suika strolled off and prepared for her journey to Cloud village. Shinobihood was foreign to her, but it's not like she had much a choice. Ringo was going to sell her out one way or another. Plus, she was getting bored of the same old routine, anyway. It was time to learn new skills for optimal survival. “Suika, deary, think this through! No need to be rash!” pleaded Ringo as he chased her on his knees. She ignored him. “So this is it, huh? Just like that?”

“Just like that.” Suika slung her packed bag over her shoulder. “Farewell, asshole.” Despite his desperate pleas, the young girl was off. She ventured to her new home, Kumogakure, and never looked back.[/size]

Ghost Walker

Ghostwalker.jpg

Description said:
Ghost Walkers might have been a clan in days of old, but they now live scattered across the world, mostly keeping to themselves. Their distinct attuning to the otherworldly empowers them, allowing them to use Genjutsu much more destructively, and granting them other unique abilities. Strangely enough, many of them seem almost not quite there themselves...

Note: All techniques and buffs from this Core Ability are considered Spiritual.

Purchased CA Abilities - 20/20 CA Points

Unreal Understanding - Passive (3 points)
[*]Due to their experiences with the surreal and illusionary, Ghost Walkers are less affected by illusions and tend to be less fearful than others, not being completely affected by the intended penalties.
[*]Effect: All penalties from genjutsu are reduced by 1. Additionally, all % chances in Genjutsu to cause a negative effect on the user are reduced by 10%.

Genjutsu Mastery - Passive (2 points)
[*]Restriction- C Rank and up
[*]With their understanding of the real and unreal, Ghost Walkers can use genjutsu much more effectively than others can, making their illusions more potent and longer lasting.
[*]Effect: All Genjutsu costs are reduced by 10%. Genjutsu which are fully effective last an additional round before resistance checks are made, and Partially-Effective Genjutsu are treated as fully effective for 1 round after the initial use.

Extra-Sensory Perception - Modification (2 points)
[*]Restriction- Requires Sixth Sense
[*]Honed beyond that mere "gut instinct" that some people can get, a Ghost Walker’s ability to know things by feeling is just downright creepy in how accurate they can be. They can often tell if something’s real or not (a fake, illusion, supernatural occurrence) just by looking at it.
[*]Effect: +2 to Awareness and Genjutsu Save

Sound Mind - Boost (1 point) [x3 Purchased]
[*]Restriction- Can only be purchases a maximum of 3 times.
[*]Because of their many encounters with the supernatural or unreal, Ghost Walkers are far less affected by the strange or illusionary, giving them a calm mind in the face of the bizarre or unreal, and allowing them to come out on top in a contest of wills.
[*]Effect: +1 Genjutsu DC

Ethereal - Boost (1 point) [x3 Purchased Max]
[*]Restriction- Can only be purchased a maximum of 3 times.
[*]Ghost Walkers can often take an ethereal form, hence the name. In some cases, they remain partly ethereal almost all the time, part in the world, and part in the world beyond.
[*]Effect: -5% damage taken

Ethereal Weapon - Independent Special Move (3 points)
[*]Long have Ghost Walkers sought a viable means of attacking while in Ghostly Form, and here it is--a weapon of sharpened chakra itself, striking with piercing force and able to be held by even the intangible.
[*]Effect: User creates a weapon out of pure chakra; this costs 100 CP and 1 AP to summon and 100 CP/rnd to maintain. All attacks made with this weapon are considered Spiritual, and Genjutsu may be channeled through it without the use of handseals. This weapon has two augment slots and goes by normal Weapon Creation Jutsu rules.

Psychokinesis - Independent Special Move (2 pts)
[*]Attempting to flee from a Ghost Walker in pursuit of you can be very difficult. Their keen senses are not the only reason; a Ghost Walker is capable of completely shutting down any of their targets' attempts to 'cheat' them out of a hit.
[*]Effect: If any of the user's attacks are auto-dodged, they may reflexively pay 1 AP to cancel the auto-dodge. This requires a Genjutsu Check, and may only effect a target once every other round.
[*]Notes:
[*]- This may be used as its own conditional, and does not have to be tagged to a specific attack. (For example, the conditional could read 'use Psychokinesis on the first attack of mine that is auto-dodged.')
[*]- Can be used on Activated Auto-dodges as well as passive auto-dodge activations.

Phase-Out - Independent Special Move (2 points)
[*]Ghost Walkers walk a fine line between dreams and reality, but at certain times, they may choose to cross further over into one or the other. In such cases, they're body itself may phase through physical objects unimpeded.
[*]Effect: For 1.5 AP, the user may reflexively dispel one of their maintained Genjutsu in order to free themselves from any movement-restricting affect (this special move does not require movement). This has no affect on Genjutsu, and cannot be reused for a full round (10 seconds).

Melee Accuracy = [(Taijutsu x .7) + (Agility x .3)] = (600) 15 + 8 (Class) = +23
[*]Ranged Accuracy = [(Taijutsu x .6) + (Agility x .4)] = (600) 15 + 4 (Class) = +19
[*]Ninjutsu Accuracy = [(Ninjutsu x .7) + (CC x .3)] = (600) 15 + 8 (Class) = +23
[*]Melee Dodge = [(Taijutsu x .3) + (Agility x .7)] = (600) 15 + 8 (Class) = 23
[*]Ranged Dodge = [(Taijutsu x .2) + (Agility x .8 )] = (600) 15 + 8 (Class) = +23
[*]Ninjutsu Dodge = [(Ninjutsu x .3) + (Agility x .7)] = (600) 15 + 8 (Class) = +23
[*]Genjutsu Difficulty = [(CC x .3) + (Genjutsu x .7)] = (600) 15 + 12 (Class) + 4 (Class Bonus) + 3 (Core Ability) = +34
[*]Genjutsu Save = [(CC x .7) + (Genjutsu x .3)] = (600) 15 + 8 (Class) + 2 (Core Ability) = +25
[*]
[*]Stealth Value = (.6 Stat Average) + (.4 Agility) = (600) 15 = +15
[*]Awareness Value = (.5 Stat Average) + (.3 Genjutsu) + (.2 Chakra Control) = (600) 15 + 2 (Core Ability) = +17

Suika's Tsukumogami Contract said:
OSA0Bvc.jpg

Name: Chawan

Description: Chawan is a literal wolf toy. Originally constructed with light metal blends by forgemaster Iwao for his sickly son, this rigid doll now walks functionally as if an actual canine. His fur is comprised of an actual wolf’s pelt. His coat is dark gray that fashions silver highlights, and he possesses a prominent white undertone. With black painted eyes, the mute Chawan appears small and quiet. He boasts runic symbols acquired from it’s transformation into a Tsukumogami, and piercings and chains that exemplify its mysterious mysticism. While tiny in stature, Chawan is extremely heavy to carry. Even strongmen would find extreme difficulty lifting the toy pup, if at all.

Once transformed via Soul Regalia, Chawan appears as a metallic, wolven pelt that shrouds the user’s upper torso, from their head, down their arms, and around their waist. Although constructed from seemingly heavy material, his spiritual bond with his host supernaturally alters the weight of this coat to that of a light garment. This form increases the user’s Taijutsu ability, yet, solidifies their defenses against any foe. Chawan cannot speak to his host in this form, but can communicate through his spiritual energy and any fluctuations he attempts to manipulate.

Personality: Chawan is a mute, so it isn’t easy for him to vocalize his personality as other creatures from his realm. What does shine through his typical silence are his valiant and bold actions backed by his unrivaled loyalty and unbreakable resolve. Originally created to be child’s toy, he longs to please his person, provide support and comfort, and tends to grow extremely attached to whoever he deems his master. Besides his wolf-like loyalty and need to please, Chawan is also a creature that holds a very simple, yet, unrelenting curiosity. He has a habit of strolling off and investigating different people and sights that capture his attention. Generally friendly, he’s pretty accepting of most people, but those who seem hostile activate his quirk. When tensed or anxious, Chawan increases significantly in weight. He feels a couple of tons, but his actual weight has never been measured.

On top of this, Chawan, due to his traumatic past, has a strong aversion against fire. This also activates his weightiness, which even Suika is susceptible to. He can be soothed, but is initially terrified by any bright flame. Being a creature that is quite empathetic, his sensitivity to any living being’s emotions is great. This often pairs with his aforementioned curiosity, which often leads him into sticky situations.

History:
Before Chawan was birthed through tragedy, he was a generous thought conceptualized by a talented and poor forgemaster. Over a decade ago, Iwao-san, a notable black smith with mastery over his craft, owned a forge that was hidden below an apartment complex within the slums of Raiden’s Eye. Aside from his passion from crafting, he was a single-father of an often sickly boy. Most his wages were spent toward his son’s expensive medicine, and anything left over was solely used for survival. Due to his frail health, Iwao’s son was confined inside his home. The boy had no friends and occasionally grew depressed. Holding great concern for his son’s mental and spiritual health, Iwao formed a plan. He did not make enough to afford the boy an animal companion, but he possessed the skill to make him a life-sized doll that could take the place as one. With that, the forgemaster went to work. Collecting the finest of metals in his arsenal, he crafted a wolf pup that was fitting of his own son’s size. Satisfied with the figurine’s structure, he acquired a wolf pelt from the market and used it to add realistic fur to his creation. With some paint and added pizazz, his toy wolf was ready.

Upon presentation, he realized, in hindsight, that he should have constructed the doll from a different material. The wolf pup figurine was heavy. Regardless of that oversight, his son was overjoyed to receive his gift. “Chawan!” he cried out once he received the doll. He named the toy wolf instantly. Iwao did not know the meaning behind the name, but he was elated that his poor boy loved his gift. The boy, with Chawan by his side, was finally happy. From that day, Chawan and the boy were inseparable. In the imagination of a child, they went on several adventures together. “One day, when I’m strong like you…” the boy would often say, “let’s travel the world.” As misfortune had it, this would never come to pass.

One day, a travesty swept over the apartment complex in the slums. Fire set ablaze and basically torched every being in there. There were no survivors. Away at the market, Iwao rushed to the burnt room that his child resided in. Through the rubble, smoke, and debris, he discovered, to his terror, that his son did not survive the terrible accident. The boy’s crisped body was curled into a ball. In his grasps was Chawan. The heat of the fire seared off the doll’s fur, but its firm metals survived the flames. Now with no purpose to live, Iwao soon perished from a broken heart. And, thus, concluded a tragic tale with no happy ending. …Or was there?

As the hands of time continuously made its turns, so was Chawan’s presence in the destroyed apartment complex. As the area was never salvaged, the toy wolf remained still as all around it crumbled into ash. Soon, all that inhabited the complex were the spirits of the deceased. Many were corrupt and bitter due to the tragedy, but many kept true to their kind, original nature. Birthed by love and protected by innocence, Chawan, through some spiritual anomaly, gained life of his own. He transformed into a Tsukumogami, which translated to an object which was either possessed by a spirit or somehow miraculously adopted one of its own. Many other spirits within the complex also became Tsukumogami, but most possessed a particular object. Chawan, it seemed, had a soul of his own. Retaining memories of the horrid fire and his little master, the small spirit revealed himself to be mute, even as it joined in fellowship with other creatures of its kind. It vowed to those in his newfound realm that he’d await his master’s return and protect this place from the forces that sought to corrupt it.

Until one day.

Touched by a young girl’s compassion and resolve, Chawan, by the blessing of Iwao-san’s spirit, aided Suika and Eishi in their quest to destroy the evil in the ashen building and restore the spiritual balance within the place. After fusing himself via Soul Regalia with Suika, Chawan knew what he had to do. His new goal in life was to prevent any further tragedies from happening. With his loyalty to Suika bound by a pact, he vowed to adventure with the altruistic, yet spunky kunoichi throughout her time here on this planet. What awaited Suika and Chawan next on their life’s journey?

Contract Signed: Here

Other info: This was the contract summon that Suika interacted and bonded with in her Contract Search thread. The being was originally introduced to her by Kuro (via mod) and I have his approval/blessing to use him as a custom summon. Also note, the apartment complex/forge that Suika and Eishi saved transformed into a Tsukumogami spirit haven of sorts. The thread gives more context to the nature of the environment he was in and how he became Tsukumogami (but I attempted to sum it all up here).

Living Artifact - Tsukumogami Contract Passive
The Tsukumogami; beings that, through some type of infusion of spiritual and natural energy, have 'awoken' to sentience out of normal objects. This contract is widely varied in both appearance and temperance, often having traits akin to the object they were born from. The spirit of a weapon might take a threatening form and be prone to aggression, while one of a mirror might be proud and beautiful.

Effect:
- Once per round the contract may be used to replicate the effect of any consumable item (all costs are paid as normal).
- The user is considered Spiritual.
 • Should a character have the Archsage Kinjutsu, their Senjutsu Manipulation ability's alignment becomes Spiritual rather than Holy.

Identify - Tsukumogami Contract Dependent Special Move
As the spirits of the Tsukumogami contract were once ordinary objects themselves, they have an instinctual connection to other tools. With a touch, they can understand any object's quality, traits, and history, and can even, as the Tsukumogami like to put it, 'persuade' said objects to not work against them. How exactly this is done, only the Tsukumogami may know.

Effect: When a target in battle uses an inventory item, the user may pay 1 AP and 500 CP to reflexively attempt to nullify it. This requires a check of the user's choice between the user and the target, and if the user succeeds, the items use is nullified (still counts as a usage) and cannot be used again for a full round.

Soul Regalia - Tsukumogami Contract Senjutsu
The unique skill of the Tsukumogami contract, one they are only willing to perform with someone who has earned their respect. In this stage the Tsukumogami shares their power with their ally, pooling their strength together in a way that's stronger than either of their two halves. The Tsukumogami often manifests as intricate glowing robes or armor, or equally detailed weapons.

Effect: The user transforms into some type of living item, and equips themselves to one willing Player Character (a Tsukumogami contract may only bond with someone who has the Tsukumogami contract, while someone with Sage Mode may choose any willing ally). While bonded;
 • The wielder is considered Spiritual.
 • When the wielder is attacked, 20% of the damage inflicted on them is redirected to the caster.
 • The caster may grant their wielder up to 3 of their Abilities.
 • The wielder's secondary stats are whichever are the highest between themselves and the caster. If the wielder's own secondary's are higher than the caster's, then they gain a +1 bonus.
In addition to the above, the user chooses one of the below options;
 • Legendary Weapon: The caster chooses one of their own weapons or one of their wielder's, and equips it to their wielder. The wielder is treated as having the Weapon Mastery ability for this weapon type. If the wielder unequips or drops the caster, the caster may requip themselves to them without it costing the wielder's AP (it will only cost the Tsukumogami's AP). Upon equipping themselves to their wielder, if their wielder was in the middle of performing an action, then the action will be completed without interference in any way (such as if they were in the middle of performing a technique requiring handseals).
 • Wondrous Item: The wielder gains the effect of 1 Gear item chosen by the caster. Additionally, the wielder may use the caster's Living Artifact ability to replicate the effects of an item inplace of the caster.
 • Mythic Accessory: The wielder equipped with this item gains the ability to perform the contract's known jutsu list without requiring handseals, or knowing the jutsu themselves. The wielder does not need to meet any jutsu requirements. If used by someone with Sage Mode, this still uses the contract's known jutsu, not the Sage's.
Special Action: This Senjutsu's timing may be performed instantly upon the below conditions. All other costs are still paid normally.
 • The contract owner summoning this contract. The contract will pay the cost of this jutsu as normal, and automatically equip itself to its summoner upon being summoned.
 • The contract owner entering Sage Mode. The user will pay the cost of this jutsu, and automatically equip themselves to an ally of their choice.
Cost: 3 AP, 2400 CP/Rnd

Note:
- This Senjutsu cannot be forcibly dropped, other than the caster willingly choosing to drop this, or if either the caster or wielder reaches 0 HP or CP.
- Upon being dispersed, the wielder's and caster's Hp is averaged between them. Neither may surpass their max Hp/Cp ((if they do, both caster and their wielder will have Hp/Cp equal to the lower amount).
- When sharing abilities, the wielder cannot stack abilities which they already have.

Many beasts are known for their sharp senses, whether it be sight, smell, hearing, or some other unique capability. Regardless of the method, this skill represents their enhanced ability to perceive their surroundings.

Effect:
-+2 Awareness.
- +2 Dodge vs targets they are aware of.

Ancient Wisdom - General Contract Ability
While many contracts are reclusive and rarely show themselves to the outside world, do not make the mistake of assuming them to be unworldly; many contract beasts live lives far longer than humans, and with this age comes experience. Experience that can benefit those who heed its advice.

Effect:
- While the contract is present in battle, its allies gain a bonus based on its custom class 'High' stat(s); this bonus is +1 Acc/Dodge/DC/Save and +5% Damage dealt with it. These bonuses do not apply towards caps.
- Example; the contract with this ability having Nin Acc and Gen DC in high would grant its allies +1 to Nin Acc/Nin Dodge/Gen DC/Gen Save, and +5% Ninjutsu/Genjutsu damage.

Gigantic - General Contract Ability
Contract beasts come in all shapes and sizes, and there are some that reach such sizes that those around them. This size is rarely just for show, and though it definitly makes them a large target that attracts attention, it makes it much more difficult to restrain in any way other than defeating it.

Effect:
- The user's contract cannot be bound by non-illusory binds, but cannot enter stealth. If hit by a non-illusory bind, they instead take a -3 Acc/Dodge penalty for the duration of the 'bind'.
