Many watched in horrific awe as the Kazekage's tower fell and a cloud of dust enveloped the village. Chaos was unleashed and many people didn't know what to do. Prisoners were sooner swarming the streets, looting and attacking villagers. Many ran to the only place they could fathom, the Shinobi Academy where student and teacher alike had observed the events unfold. Instantly they had set in motion protocols to protect the school, locking it down and putting students to work helping fortify what they could. Teachers and other ninja went out to gather any additional supplies they could and brought them back. While they may not be holed up forever inside the walled-off structure, it was safe to use as a headquarters for those seeking refuge.
Despite the best efforts of the anarchists, the walls held and the ninja deterred any infiltrations. The Cabal themselves were happy to leave those who retreated to the Academy to stay put. Mice were easier to watch when they put themselves in an even smaller cage. Children, Families, Students, and Teachers alike huddled within the high walls of the Foundation in hopes of being able to ride out the storm.
Coming to this place would be obvious for most, and trying to hide within the droves of people was just as easy for a spy as it was the average person. No knowledge in these walls was safe, but it would at least offer protection from those outside.
