Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

"You want Us to... spar you?" The doubtful incredulousness in Sesshosuna-Oh's voice was thick as she leaned against a large rock a few feet away from where Katsuo was standing, stretching as a warm up for the practice fight he'd asked for. She was clad in the same indigo and black dress that she'd donned when she'd first met with Katsuo and he was beginning to suspect that the garment was itself mystical in some fashion. She folded her arms under her breasts and pouted with a scowl. "We instructed you not to waste Our time, did We not?"

"Oh this won't be a waste of your time." Remarked Katsuo with a confident smile which seemed to deepen Sesshosuna-Oh's scowl just a little bit. She seemed slightly perturbed that he was not intimidated by her the same way he had been when they'd first met. "I promise."

"Very well then. If you are so confident in your abilities then We suggest a wager." She said, a predatory look of anticipation creeping into her features that slowly displaced the irritation from her countenance.

Stopping, Katsuo halted his stretching and turned to regard Sesshosuna-Oh who had ceased leaning against the rock and was now standing only inches away beside him looking up at him with intensity in her eyes and expression. She was after all a Youkai which were well known for their interactions with mortals involving trickery and deception. In that way their kind was much like the Deep Court ancients. It seemed as though Sesshosuna-Oh were looking to hedge her bets about this afternoon being interesting by playing a game with their sparring match.

"Arright, what's your pitch?"

Her grin widened a little bit further to the point of being almost impossibly smug.

"We will spar you as you have asked but if you cannot last for at least a minute then We will win the wager and dissolve our pact ..." The wager was dangerous enough at first but Sesshosuna-Oh continued before he had a chance to respond, "... and you will make a new pact with Us as Our servant. We could find plenty of uses for a mortal such as you."

"Okay that's. Wow. And if I win?" Katsuo asked, taken a bit aback by Sesshosuna-Oh's forward suggestion that they dissolve their pact and he become her slave. He could only imagine what sorts of tasks that a daiyoukai like Sesshosuna-Oh might have in store for him to say nothing of how the loss of the man power he provided to the Sand's military force would affect the city.

"We are already granting you a concession -- is it not enough of a privilege for Us to agree to cross swords with you?" She was pouting again, this time with her hands on her hips and her cheeks puffed out indignantly.

"That's not a fair deal at all. We become your slave if you win but if we win then nothing? That's not a deal that's robbery." He remarked with a smile, knowing that she wouldn't be able to resist rising to his bait.

"You go too far, Lord Sunahoshi." She grumped out-loud as Katsuo chewed on the way she'd addressed him. Lord Sunahoshi? He might never get used to being called that. "But you are perhaps correct despite your forwardness. Very well then. If you should win Our wager then We will yield to you another boon that is within Our power."

"Anything I want?"

"That is within Our power to grant, yes. You will not win, of course, but it would not do for a king to appear ungracious in her deals and a boon of Our favor is more than equal in value to the lifetime service of a mortal man."

Katsuo recognized how dangerous the challenge was. When she'd tested him before he hadn't even harmed her. No... she didn't even flinch. If she had not come back down to his level and remarked on her assessment he wouldn't have even known if she'd noticed that he'd blasted her. But that was in her sandworm form and Katsuo had no intention of trying to spar Sesshosuna-Oh's gargantuan sandworm form. And even then... even with the danger of the challenge, Katsuo couldn't help but be enticed towards it. He was never a type to back down from a challenge -- especially not from a pretty girl and Sesshosuna-Oh was definitely that and more -- but more than that she was also a strong adversary. He could potentially learn quite a lot about his new powers and her own powers by crossing swords with her.

And besides, all he had to do was last a minute. How hard could that be?

"I accept your challenge then." He said, excitement creeping it's way into his expression in the form of a wide grin. "On the condition that you fight in the form you are now."

At that Sesshosuna-Oh laughed heartily out-loud at his condition.

"You are right to fear Our glorious true form. But yes, We will battle you as We are. After all, We would not want to harm Our new servant." She said with a shrug as she giggled off the last vestiges of her laugh and danced backwards away from her. It was surprising to him no matter how many times he saw it how quickly and precisely Sesshosuna-Oh could move in the dress she wore. "Not yet, anyway. Prepare yourself Lord Sunahoshi."

"What... is this?" Breathed Katsuo, wonder apparent in his voice as he looked up at the armory hanger before him at what they had unveiled for him.

The second mission from the Bishamonten Project had come just as he'd expected but this was totally different than what he'd expected. He'd expected another test go against their mechanical monstrosities but instead Fuurika and Raijuta had a gift for him. Before them was a snow-white and silver suit of mechanical body armor which was decorated with green highlights the color of Katsuo's hair.

"This is a fully equipped suit of battle armor." Raijuta explained, his eyes fixed on the suit of armor. "Our gift to you for cooperating with us and, I think, to prove to you that we're all on the same side."

At that moment, Raijuta turned and gave Katsuo a knowing look and all the other man could do was offer a shrug in response. It seemed like the director of the Bishamonten Project had sensed his apprehension after the last weapons test but it seemed like he understood why Katsuo was wary of them. In fact, from the secrecy of the entire project it seemed like Raijuta knew that his ideas and practices here would be met with skepticism from the public.

"We all want to see the fall of the daimyo. Shinobi like you are the best hope that we have be there are only so many of you and you can't be everywhere. That is what we are trying to do with our project. Be the safety net that catches the worms that slip through."

So that what happened with the Cabal can never happen again, thought Katsuo. The subtext of Raijuta's small speech was clear. Since their last meeting, Katsuo had done some digging on Hideyoshi Raijuta and found a loyal man with a proud service record, not to mention a laundry list of medical accolades, but most notably he found a man who had lost his wife in the Cabal occupation. Raijuta was one of the many who had suffered the loss of someone important to them because of the actions of the Cabal members but also because of the vendetta that the daimyo seemed to have against Sunagakure. In the end the blood of Hideyoshi Raijuta's wife was on the hands of Ishii Shiro and Raijuta seemed to understand that.

"It's been customized to match your chakra wavelengths. It will draw power from your internal electrical current that your body manifests ..." Piped up Fuurika for the first time, excitement clear in her voice as she went on a rant explaining the various features and armaments that the suit contained. Katsuo wasn't sure about any of those things-- he'd never been much of a handy guy when using technology --but he did know that the people needed things they could believe in. Easily identifible symbols that meant something. Looking up at the shining silver and white face-plate, Katsuo couldn't help but feel some kind of small connection with it. "... and the best part is when you're not using it the suit will condense into the implants at the back of your neck using sealing technology."

"I'm sorry, the what?!" Exclaimed Katsuo, reaching to the back of his neck with his right hand and feeling his fingers run over a set of four small synthetic feeling bumps at the base of his neck. Anger rising in his voice, Katsuo looked from Fuurika to Raijuta who looked at each other in confusion. "What did you do to me while I was out?"

"Shit did we not tell you about the implants? I feel like we did. Fuck man, sorry. Well, I guess I should explain .."

Need to make some changes. Going to deactivate Shinobi 101: Kinetic Genjutsu with Melee Accuracy and Jutsu Expansion then activate Shinobi 101: Puppet Traps with Melee Accuracy and Mechanized Weapon.

I will apply my Mechanized Weapon to my Sword of Oblivion and choose Crush Virus (3 pts), Cylinder of Magic (2 pts) and Watchlight (1 pt) for my traps (6 pts total).

Sesshousuna-Oh's attacks came in fast and precise like the strikes of a viper. As small as she appeared in her human form, she hardly lacked for physical strength and as Katsuo knocked each of her blows out of the way he fell back into a defensive posture just to withstand the hurricane of his opponent's assault. She wasn't a martial artist by any means-- there was no subtley or skill behind the punches that she threw --but the power behind them could crush stones with ease. A single wrong hit from her and he'd be in trouble and she knew that as evidenced by the wild grin that split her delicately beautiful face.

Still, there was a vulnerability in the way she fought due to her lack of form or stance. Sesshousuna-Oh wasn't engaging Katsuo in the way that suggested she regarded him as a threat to her even though he'd a shred of her respect in the past and that was her mistake to make. Lightning crackled down Katsuo's forearms as he threw one of Sesshousuna-Oh's punches to the side and rolled past her out of her vision for a moment before exploding into movement of his own leaving a shadowy after-image behind in his wake as he leaped into the air over her head. Responding instinctively to his move, Sesshousuna-Oh turned and sent one of her fists through the chest of the after-image just as Katsuo completed his move in behind her, landing with his palms in the sand beneath them Katsuo shifted his weight and turned the spin of his jump into force behind a spinning kick aimed at the side of her head.

Reacquiring her opponent at the last moment, Sesshousuna-Oh brought her arms up to protect her skull from the incoming blast of Katsuo's attack but the emergency maneuver wasn't enough to protect her entirely. With a resounding peal of thunder and a blast of golden storm chakra, Katsuo's leg slammed into her forearms and toppled her from her feet thanks to her lack of an informed fighting stance and sent her spiraling through the air to land in the sand a few feet away from where Katsuo was as he completed the spinning kick and landed on his feet. He wasn't worried about hurting her-- Sesshousuna-Oh was much tougher than that --but Katsuo had to admit that he as his sparring partner lay unmoving in the sand that he'd done more than a little damage to her ego given that the daiyoukai had expected to handily defeat her human master and claim the leash in their relationship.
It's not my Sensory Mastery but I'm going to go back to Visual Genjutsu with Shinobi 101 and replace Mechanized Weapon as well. It was a good thought but I'm not quite ready for that.

Custom Contract Beast (Tsukumogami).
Name: Caliburn the Living Lightning
Contract Type: Tsukumogami

Description:
Caliburn's physical form varies from moment to moment as she is a member of the Tsukumogami Contract and is able to manifest herself as various physical objects but the most pure expression of her physical form is a coursing current of golden lightning.

She is merged to the holy sword Tatsumasa and thus her essence is contained within. Where Tatsumasa goes, so too does Caliburn even though Tatsumasa is an inert object they are effectively one in the same.

Personality:
Caliburn was made to be a kingmaker. She exists to transform the person that she has chosen into the perfect king and as a result she constantly pushes her partner to cleave to the ideals of good kingship but also to chase their ambition and never be satisfied. In that way she can be obstinate and argumentative but only in cases where she feels that the course of action she prefers is the honest to goodness best choice for her master. Otherwise she is dutiful and loyal, speaking respectfully to her king and obeying him in all things unless she is faced with a situation where she is convinced her king's decision will ruin him.

History:
Long ago the first Kazekage inherited a treasure trove of power from the demi-god king Primus before his death. Fearing that such tremendous power might corrupt the morals of his descendants, Sunahoshi Nori hid that power away so that it might be claimed some day in the future if future Kazekages might need to call upon it to protect the village. Originally created as a simple knowledge spirit and imparted into the masterwork sword Tatsumasa without a name, Caliburn was tasked with choosing a bearer who might be worthy of inheriting the power of the One King and guiding them upon the journey to claiming it. Many generations passed until Tatsumasa-- "the sword of the king" --fell into the possession of the prodigal Sunahoshi heir Katsuo whom Caliburn sensed greatness in. Revealing herself to him, Caliburn set Katsuo on the path to claiming the first vestiges of the One King's power and in doing so was sent into dormancy by the force of his wielding that power. It was not until Katsuo unleashed another cache of power in an effort to heal himself from the consequences of his choices that Caliburn was rejuvenated and empowered into the Tsukumogami that she is now.

Sunahoshi Bloodline
Once known for the curse put upon them by the Ancient Lord of the Earth and Desert which allowed them the ability to manipulate large amounts of fulgurite creating "diamond sands" in battles, the Sunahoshi Bloodline had all but died out until the last scion of the bloodline and heir to the throne Katsuo came forward. After unlocking a weapon which had been set aside for him by his forefathers, Katsuo tapped into the true power of his bloodline and ignited a power which had slept in the blood of his family for generations.

Endurance<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- Can be purchased up to three times
Reckless fighters deal with attacks that have a heavy backlash on a regular basis. To endure the power of their own attacks, they need to be far more resilient than the average ninja.
Effect: +2 HP modifier
Mastered Offensive Stance<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
By maximizing the efficiency of their attacks and gaining the most offense for the amount of lost defense, a Reckless fighter can become insanely accurate for the same amount of lost evasion.
Effect: Allows user to gain +1 accuracy per -1 dodge, up to a maximum of +4 accuracy and -4 dodge.
Fire Boost<i></i> - Boost (1 point)
Restriction- May only be purchased three times
A pyromaniac with this ability has brought out the destructive force of their fire based jutsu to the maximum, though they are no less reckless and chaotic in the execution.
Effect: Fire based jutsu deal 10% more damage, but 5% of the total damage is done to the user.
Explosive Chakra<i></i> - Passive (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up
Even a pyromaniac’s chakra is unstable, making it highly volatile and extremely dangerous. While this makes their chakra a little harder to control, it makes their fire based jutsu just that much more frightening.
Effect: Due to the difficulty of controlling their chakra, all ninjutsu and genjutsu cost 5% more. However, all fire based jutsu have a +2 critical range and hit for 2.5x normal damage on critical hits instead of 2.0x normal damage.
Precision Blow<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
The name Reckless is slightly misgiving, as Reckless fighters are actually not entirely hotheaded with their attacks. They simply like inflicting a lot of damage very quickly, though different means can be used to do so.
Effect: Adds +2 accuracy and +2 critical range to the next basic unarmed, Taijutsu, or weapon attack. Costs 100 Chakra.
Unbalancing Strike<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
By using excessive force, the Reckless fighter can knock away their opponent’s defenses, allowing for an extra hit at vital areas. However, this move heavily overextends the user, leaving them open to attack.
Effect: Allows the use of any physical (Ninjutsu or Taijutsu) attack as an unbalancing strike, inflicting a -3 dodge on the user for that round. If the user takes 10% of their HP in damage that round, the strike fails automatically. If the strike hits, the user may immediately follow up with any physical attack at +1 accuracy and +20% damage for -1AP. Can only be used once every round.
Brink of Insanity - Jutsu (1 point, 1 point to rank up)
Restriction - A rank and up
By focusing all their power into one strike, the Reckless fighter can deal insane amounts of damage while at the same time tearing up their own body due to the ferocity of the attack, leaving them extremely defenseless. But if there are no enemies left, that doesn’t really matter.
Rank 1: The Reckless loses their sanity causing them to gain +50% Damage Buff on all melee taijutsu attacks. The user does not dodge attacks while this is active, but gains a -36% Chance to be Suppressed. All Melee taijutsu attacks gain +1 Crit and the user has a 44% chance to strike a random target. The user has a 15% Damage Reduction to physical damage, but takes damage equal to 15% of the damage caused. Bind attempts at the user while this is active have a 20% chance to auto-fail. This may last up to two full rounds or until deactivated, but but requires two full rounds of cool down after use.
Rank 2: The Reckless loses their sanity causing them to gain +100% Damage Buff on all melee taijutsu attacks. Any dodge buffs the user has does not apply while this is active, but gains a -44% Chance to be Suppressed. All Melee taijutsu attacks gain +2 Crit and the user has a 36% chance to strike a random target. The user has a 15% Damage Reduction to physical damage, but takes damage equal to 15% of the damage caused. Bind attempts at the user while this is active have a 20% chance to auto-fail. Note 1:</I> While active, the user may only use offensive techniques. If the user uses non-offensive techniques while this is active their move will be converted into a Basic Strike(s) instead.
Note 2: While active, none of the user's other buffs towards Melee Taijutsu may apply.
Hellfire Blaze - Independent Special Move (2 points)
One truly possessed by flames is able to extend their burning soul into their very weapons, shrouding them in a huge mass of flames. This burning passion often engulfs them just as much as any foes, however.
Effect: For two rounds, attacks made with any of the user's weapons are considered Fire Element and have a 10% of "burning" any Hp damage it deals. The user takes 1.5% Max Hp each round this is active, and cannot reactivate it until a full round after it has ended.
Note:<I> The lost HP is considered 'burned' and cannot be recovered during the battle. This applies to the user's HP cost, as well as the weapon (if the chance succeeds).
Fire Blast<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (3 points)
By fully unleashing their fiery nature, a pyromaniac can charge a fire based jutsu far beyond normal limits, creating a highly-unstable and explosive attack that is only vaguely controlled, with wild chances to go either way in creating victory or defeat.
Effect: A chosen Fire based Jutsu deals +40% more damage and deals 25% of its total damage back to the user. This jutsu has a 20% chance to increase the damage by an additional +20%, a 30% chance to increase damage by 20% with an additional +25% backlash, and a 10% chance to become unstable and explode on the user dealing full damage to them. Only one effect may happen per use. Because of the intense power, damage from this jutsu cannot be reduced by mantle of fire. This may be used only three times per battle, and does not apply to Damage Buff Limits.
Burning Recoil<i></i> - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
Playing with fire is dangerous, and most shinobi are cautious when it comes to their flame techniques, and carefully take the time to properly channel their chakra to avoid harming themselves. However, this is not the case for the Pyromaniac. Missing an opportunity against an opponent for something as insignificant as their own safety is unthinkable, and they release their flames rapidly even if it means using their own body to absorb the recoil of an attack.
Effect: A Pyromaniac may use their own body to absorb the recoil of a Fire based jutsu, increasing the accuracy by +2, but also taking on +15% backlash damage. This can be done once per round.

"As with all Masashi hunters and huntresses there is a tattoo of the Masashi clan crest upon the back of Katsuo's right hand which is patterned after the mitsudomoe of their doujutsu technique. The tattoo itself is a conductor for the hunter's chakra which allows them to manipulate elemental chakra into their attacks. In the case of most Masashi hunters and huntresses this elemental chakra is of a Fire nature but in Katsuo's case his chakra is supercharged with the presence of the Spark of Primus which energizes his attacks with Flame chakra."

Missing an opportunity against an opponent for something as insignificant as their own safety is unthinkable, and they release their flames rapidly even if it means using their own body to absorb the recoil of an attack.

When Tatsumasa was broken was what she was going to say. Katsuo had also kept to himself and said nothing to the others about. Within the sheath that lay beneath where Caliburn was "sitting" was only half a blade with a jagged edge where it had been sheared off by the might of the Black Knight that he'd fought. He'd managed to battle back and win the day by reaching deep into himself and pulling out as much of his power as he could but even that was beginning to run dry and what he'd believed to be a new font of strength within him had proven to be even more shallow than what he'd taken from the "resting place" of Primus. Katsuo couldn't bear to tell Sousuke that he'd broken the heirloom sword that he'd been given a second time and that this time it seemed there would be no repairing it because the rest of it didn't exist anymore.

There was what sounded like a clap of thunder from next to him which caused Katsuo to recoil in surprise and as he recovered from the ringing sound that it caused in his ears, Katsuo turned to where Caliburn had been "sitting" and found the projection of his partner on her feet with indignance in her expression.

Ethereal tears pooled at the sides of Caliburn's face as the projected image of her spirit that she chose to show him screwed up her face into a soundless sniffle. Anger, frustration and sadness mixed into the emotions that he saw play across her face and Katsuo realized this was the first time that he'd ever seen Caliburn ever really... well emotional. She had always been clinical and formal with him outside of a few playful remarks and a small amount of mischevious behavior from time to time. She referred to him as "Sir" and "my king" and had never spoken to him in this manner before.

Also due to my forced change of CA (because of the loss of my Kinjutsu) my HP modifier needs to drop by 2 to 64.

I am now an Archsage so I need my Kinjutsu updated and it grants me two free abilities-- Senju Manipulation and Unbound Loyalty.

This also grants me Sage Mode for free so my Ability list now looks like this:
