The sun crested over the horizon to give way to a wide, endless desert that seemed to go on forever in every direction. If you didn't know the routes or were not familiar with the terrain, this hot ground would swallow you up and you would be lucky if you would ever be found if a sandworm didn't get to you first. For everything that Asuka was not, she still had to give her younger sister credit for making it as far as she did as Soku kept trudging along taking great care to ration her water as the intense, blaring rays of the sun beamed down onto her back as she checked her map once more before nodding to herself.
She had familiarized herself with some of the landmarks that they should encounter on their way to Sunagakure no Sato although the way forward could also be evidecned by recent tracks and footprints but tracks could be blown away but dust and sandstorms and there was no assurancce that thse tracks led where one hoped.
It seemed however in her ever so natural manner, Asuka had not forgooten about her placing some well-placed contraaptions of her along the route. Soku had already walked into no less than two glitter devices and in this sweaty climate, the specks of shiny residue seemed to stick to her. It was perhap's Asuka's way of 'punishing' her.
