Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

In the wake of his powers going awry, Shigeru had been practicing much more with his body and with other types of ninjutsu. He had found that his apt for Explosive techniques had stemmed from some minor affinity for Earth jutsu. This had led him down a dangerous path of thinking that led to him being very sorrowful of his current struggle with the Fire inside of him. However, quickly Shigeru bounced back with a great idea: A new class, one centered around the body. Many days and nights Shigeru poured into the lesson, and in the end, he was quite proud of what he was going to bring to the newest group of students. Hopefully none would pull a stunt as Sashine had done. In preparation, Shigeru packed an array of weapons into a holding scroll, and he dressed himself in a pair of loose Gi pants and a long coat.

The class was to be held outside in the training area. This time he forwent the crazy sign and instead stood in the center of a ring of stone that he had created. The ring was a large as a classroom, and in essence, it separated this area from the rest of the village. Certainly there was a sense of forboding in the air. Near the entrance to the training area there was a posting about Shigeru’s class, Taijutsu: A Shinobi’s First Weapon. Shigeru hoped this would draw every newbie shinobi in the area like bees to honey.

Every student who entered, Shigeru would nod to, introduce himself, “Hello, I am Shimatsu Shigeru, your instructor for the day. Please stand at the edge of the ring and wait for class to begin.” In front of Shigeru, he had already spread out the scroll, which may be a talking point among the students. However, with the recent meditation, Shigeru would stand as stalwart as a statue until the class begun. If any student looked closely enough though, they would notice the steam rising off his bare chest as he had discarded the coat long ago.

{OoC: Everyone enter and introduce your characters. You can do anything you want within reason. I will begin this class in three days, and then we will have round of 2-3 days depending on how often you guys post. The faster you all post, the faster I will post.}

Tazumoto entered the academy to do some training. He was never around when a class was going on, but today he was lucky. Upon entering the training area he noticed a posting that said "Taijutsu: A Shinobi’s First Weapon." Letting out a "Woohoo" Tazumoto made his way towards a ring where he was greeted by the instructor. “Hello, I am Shimatsu Shigeru, your instructor for the day. Please stand at the edge of the ring and wait for class to begin.” Tazumoto replied "My name is Azuma Tazumoto, pleased to meet you sensei," he bowed in a very formal manner, unsure of how he was suppose to greet instructors from the academy. He made his way to the edge of the ring, in a rather chipper mood he completely missed the scroll and the fact that the instructor had steam rising off his chest. Tazumoto was too excited to begin his first lesson, he spent a great deal of time imagining what the lesson would entail. His hands were still bandaged from the damage he had done trying to strengthen his own body. Hopefully here he would learn how to train without damaging himself in the process. Being the first one there, he had plenty of time to daydream until the lesson began, or so he though.

As always, Daisuke was sprinting to his next class, leaping over any obstruction rather than going around it. Today, his outfit was different than it usually was: his sweater lacked sleeves and was zipped up, fitting his form and keeping him warm, and his darker sweatpants weren't as close fitting but not baggy, either. He was also suspiciously devoid of many kunai: he figured he wouldn't need a lot of them and only had about two dozen, though of course, he had his Kaosu No Ken on and glowing. Suffice to say, he thought he was lightly armed. As he dodged a few morning people, earning himself a curse or two, he was thinking about what sort of techniques he'd learn. Perhaps their sensei would show them A-Rank Jutsu? Or even S-Ranked! Would it be Unarmed Taijutsu or Projectile, though?[/color] He hoped it was either of those, as he only usually used those.

As he ran towards his Taijutsu class (which explained why he was so excited, a huge grin already plastered on his face), he tripped over the ring of rocks. Managing to use momentum to flip himself forward then using his hand to spring himself to his feet before he hit the ground hard, Daisuke landed lightly yet lacking grace in front of his new sensei, slamming one fist into an open palm and bending slightly at the waist. Hello Shigeru-sensei, I am Akamatsu Daisuke.

The boy jogged back to the edge of the ring near the other student that had shown up, waving a friendly hello to him before walking over, a smile on his face. Hello! I'm Daisuke, he said as he offered his free hand for a handshake, the Gauntlet slowly emitting the purple "fog" around his right side.

Sora was sitting upon the edge of the roof to a building. The sun was high, and the streets were bustling with people. He spent his time staring up at the bright, blue, sky. After a few moments, Sora realized he should get some exercise in, go for a walk at the least. So at that, Sora slid down off the roof, falling the distance gracefully before landing upon his feet. Hands instantly moved to his pockets as he turned towards the right, taking the path it had. While mid walk, walking only a few hundred meters, he saw a sign, one for Taijutsu as it read Taijutsu: A Shinobi's First Weapon. Sora pondered upon whether he should enter or not, before coming to the conclusion that he didn't have anything better to do, and besides, when he got home he'd just have to do more training with his kekkei genkai with his brother, which consisted of his brother throwing shuriken at him and he had to block them all with kunai. This explained why his arms and legs were bandaged. Though, not able to be seen due to his black, pullover hoodie. Though the sleeves were rolled up to the elbows, revealing the bandaging on his forearms. The edges of the sleeves, the bottom of the hoodie, and the inside of the hood, were all red. Upon the back, was the Uchiha Emblem. Enlarged and dead center of the hoodie. Complimenting the top half, he wore a pair of black 'Sports Pants' That were comfortable and easy to move in.

Once he came to his conclusion, he strode over towards it. He first noticed his Sensei for this, and listened to his words as he observed the steam and such from his body. He looked the male in the eyes, giving a respectful nod before stating his name. " I go by Uchiha Sora. Please take care of me. I hope to learn a lot. " At that, Sora strode away from the other, before standing on the opposite side of the ring that the other two were not at, keeping his distance. And like usual, as he had showed up, the group of girls that were following him earlier also came, only to be giggling and standing in the distance, they came to watch.

Ryuuka had been doing what he had called "detective work" and had been neglecting his studies to the point where he put everything aside and focused on classes, he made his way to the academy and entered it with haste. students passed by as Ryuuka looked along the wall of posters for a good class to join, and that was when he saw something that caught his eye, literally, a flyer for Taijutsu: The Shinobi's First Weapon flew right onto his face. Taking it off he looked at it and examined it thoroughly, he had decided that he would take this class in honor of his ancestors and his clan members, Ryuuka's clan is well known for their taijutsu abilities and even though he was in the lower branch he still had an affinity for it. Running through the hallways Ryuuka pushes everyone out of the way and rushed out the door towards the circle, his dark green short sleeved vest floated in the wind over his mesh shirt as he ran and ran until it was in sight Ryuuka slowed down and proceeded to walk up to the teacher, to his surprise it had been his previous teacher from his last class, Shigeru sensei introduced himself and the class he was running and Ryuuka responded with "Hey Shigeru-Sensei! Short time no see!"
Ryuuka then walked past him and made his way next to the other students, Ryuuka hadn't seen any of these people before besides Daisuke so he turned and gave off a welcoming smile then turned back to the center. Having a slight flashback Ryuuka looked back at his sensei realizing the steam slowly rising off his body, Ryuuka was left in awe to see such incredible power. The others seemed somewhat pumped and so did the group of girls following a certain one of his classmates, Ryuuka decided to just ignore it and stand straight and disciplined considering only an Uchiha ever gets that amount of babes normally.

Uchiha Moeka made her humble entrance, walking on towards the ring without flare or fanfare, but with dignity and composure. Her black hair was worn as a long ponytail, and her simple attire consisted of a black shirt and spats; she was ready for physical activity. The girl's dark eyes subtly moved around, examining her surroundings with passing glances. She bowed to the teacher as soon as he nodded at her, using just her name for the introductions. "Uchiha Moeka."

She went to the edge of the ring and stood next to the other students, looking at nothing in particular. Moeka then quietly waited for the class to begin.

Nara Kenta was seen walking through the village towards the academy. Many people were staring at the very large stack of books he was carrying on his head. His father told him that he was learning taijutsu so there was no reason to be bringing so much books, but he didn't care, as most of them were novels to read during class anyway. Class time is usually the only free time he gets so he'll usually spend some time reading until he is required to do actual work. Of course, he would never tell his family this. He marches into the academy and begins to throw all of his books one by one under the very low hanging door frame. He then picks them up and puts them under his desk. As usual, he sits down and looks around the whole class "My name is Nara Kenta, nice to meet you all". He pulled off his bag and hung it around his seat, feeling very confident about this class.

It had been at least several months since Hinote had last set foot outside of the hospital, and he was grateful the day finally came for him to resume his shinobi training at the academy. Although the prosthetic legs he kept hidden under long black slacks were less mobile than he'd like, they at least functioned well enough for him to move about casually.

But as he wandered onto the training grounds, the backpack containing his own Kujikudo Prototype secured firmly with both straps to his back, he noticed several students congregating around whom he assumed was their sensei for this particular lesson.

"Interesting," he thought as he entered the ring himself, acknowledging the instructor's introduction with a nod of his own.

"Well met, Shimatsu-sensei. My name is Takayama Hinote."

The boy kept the introductions brief and stood on the outer edge of the ring. After all, since Toragawa Dio assumed ownership over the Takayama Mining Corporation, Hinote couldn't quite claim himself as an heir any more.

OoC Note: Kenta pay more attention when you read! This class is outside! There is no where for you to put books under desks and doorframes!

Shigeru looked around at all the new faces around him. They were all so young and full of energy, and these would be the few who would continue to make this village thrive as Shigeru always dreamed it could. For a moment, Shigeru felt a sense of pride wash over him as he realized that he had been tasked with training this new generation, and it was his sole responsibility at this moment to make sure they got the best training possible. In this moment, Shigeru remembered the teachers who had led him to this very spot, and even though the path had gone astray, Shigeru still held his deep love for Kumogakure. However, Shigeru quickly broke from the spell and shook off those feelings of nostalgia. His mind completely in the class now, Shigeru made a quick handseal and the unrolled scroll at his feet began to glow as the scribing seals were released. Out of those seals the students would be able to see many various weapons appear in every shape and size they could imagine, even duplicates of some that were more common. Shigeru gestured to the various weapons as if to direct the students to examine.

“Taijutsu is the core of every shinobi. Even in a place where the use of chakra is impossible, you will be able to freely employ your body in order to defeat any foe. For some time now, I have been losing touch with my ability to employ ninjutsu at the mastery level that I am used to, but I have rediscovered the core tenants of Taijutsu. ‘Know your weapon’. This is the first and foremost important rule when weilding any weapon, even your own fists, and performing taijutsu. From the quick and hidden knife all the way to the durable and far-reaching kodachi, every single weapon has their own strengths and weaknesses. By constant practice, you will be able to pick up on these subtle differences and capitalize them in a fight. Today we will have some practical applications. At my feet, there is any weapon imaginable. I want you to pick one up then go into a corner of the ring and give it some practice swings. Tell me what you think is strongest about that weapon and what weakness you may think it has.”

OoC: Pick any weapon, describe it, and also assign a damage type to it, such as slashing, unarmed, piercing, etc.

[MFT: 386]

Tazumoto listened to the teacher's explanation. He payed attention to every word. He was eyeing a pair of brass knuckles, he was going to go straight to them since he wasn't very knowledgeable about other weapons, but he knew how to punch. Once the teacher was done with his explanation, Tazumoto went up and grabbed those brass knuckles, he slipped them on his hands, and went up to the bottom right hand corner of the ring. When he got to the corner, he took a few punches, he liked the weight of the knuckles, and admired just how fearsome this weapon was up close. After he was done practicing with the weapon, he took a moment to think about the advantages and disadvantages up close.

After about thirty seconds of contemplation, he said "I guess this weapon would be counted as unarmed, since I am not holding this with my hands, they fit on to my hands. However, they could also be considered a blunt weapon. If this weapon had spikes instead of knuckles it could be considered a piercing weapon with limited reach." Tazumoto took a breath "The advantages of this weapon are close up, hits with this weapon would be devastating, especially these ones, the brass knobs on each knuckle would cause about ten times more pain than a regular punch." he took another breath and continued "As for the disadvantage, I would say that it's the same as the advantage, you have to get close up. When you are dealing with any weapon with a bit of range, that can become a problem." Tazumoto finished his explanation, and waited for the others.

[[OOC - Sora, it's five days since your last hotsprings post, could you please post there so we can wrap it up? Sensei's speech was interesting to Ryuuka as even though his father was a taijutsu master, he never drew out any weapons as he had retired already, he felt excited to try out a weapon that wasn't already in his own arsenal. Ryuuka sifted and searched through the array of weapons looking for something that would aid him until he found a pair of knives, he played around with them with a spinning motion but didnt feel that connection. He put down the knives and kept looking through the mass of deadly instruments and at last he had found what he thought would be his match, he felt a tug on his heart strings as he drew near and picked it up. The weapon was a small scythe connected to a kunai by a long sturdy chain, he moved on down to the southbound side of the circle and swung it around, he threw the kunai end and followed it up with a strike of the scythe. The weapon felt good with Ryuuka and he felt was easy to use so he walked back to his teacher and explains in a confident tone "The Kunai and Scythe on chain or just chain scythe officially called a kusarigama is a slashing or piercing weapon as it can be used to impale or to slash the opponent, the advantages of using this would be the variety of range you can get and the diversity of its assets but with the disadvantages any long ranged attacks could be voided and broken if the chain breaks."

Daisuke listened intently, nodding along in utmost agreement. Tajutsu was the core. Before Ninjutsu and Genjutsu and even Puppetry, there was Taijutsu, though it probably wasn't called so. Still: Taijutsu was just as important as Genjutsu or Ninjutsu, perhaps more important, and he was glad they were having a class on it.

The boy frowned, however, when he learned their sensei was 'losing touch' with his Ninjutsu. He'd never really heard of such a thing. People could be rusty, sure, but he looked to be young and still going strong. He would ask, but it seemed personal. Maybe a bit of light research would yield the answers.

Daisuke hesitated slightly: he only knew how to use Projectiles and Unarmed Taijutsu. He watched as two students, Ryuuka, who he met before, and Tazumoto. They seemed to know a good bit about the weapons they chose, so when they'd each finished, Daisuke stepped forward, scooping up a few kunai and shuriken, moving to his corner and flicking them at the ground with ease. The kunai were a bit heavier than he was used to, the shuriken lighter, but he used them with his usual proficiency.

The kunai and shuriken, standard Shinobi projectile weapons, have the advantage of being small and able to inflict a lot of pain and even deliver poisons. They're easier to conceal then the larger weapons, as well. But their disadvantage is their size, as well. They're harder to use in closer combat, but also allow better dodging because they're small. He shrugged, throwing the last few kunai and shuriken, forming a star on the ground as he waited for the others.

[[We're gonna stay in this order (Shigeru, Tazumoto, Ryuuka, me), yea? :p]]

Sora paid attention, though it seemed as if he didn't with him gazing up at the sky. It really was a good day, the sky was blue with the plump, white clouds soaring within the mass of blue. Only then Sora saw a few of the other class mates walk over and grab that of a weapon. He stood in place, gazing upon the available weapons. He didn't find anything he liked particularly, until his gaze met that of what seemed to be a sword. Though upon further inspection as he got closer, it was a short sword without a handle guard. He crouched down briefly, only to pick it up with the left hand. He unsheathed about two inches of it as he walked into an unoccupied space in the ring. Only then did he unsheathe it from the scabbard completely.

Sora made a few cuts through the air with it before spinning if within his hand, holding it reverse gripped. Making a few more swings. Only then he flipped it back to normal and tossed it In the air some, catching with the left hand reverse gripped before making a few more swings. He noticed he could move the sword around equally well with both hands. Perhaps he was ambidextrous? His thoughts were cut short by the squealing of girls off to the side of the ring once he did something with the sword. Though, he ignored before stating his analysis.

" First off, it lacks a hand guard. Though also, as a short sword it lacks that of range. This also leads to an advantage. More maneuverability. This is a lot easier to swing around than a full sword. Meaning it's easier to move around as well, and is less constricting. Though of course, there's always the disadvantage of the weapon breaking. That's the same for all weapons of assume though... "

[ I havnt posted on 5 days due to me not needing to post 2 times in a row.. Computer or phone, it says I'm the last person who has posted. ]

Kenta nods his head and walks over to the pile of weapons, he searches frantically until a wide grin develops on his face. During his earlier years, he read a book involving a legendary shinobi who wielded a certain weapon, one which he just found. Kenta pulls out a blade in between the length of a katana and a dagger "Hmm... What was the name again? I believe it was called a wakizashi". He examines the blade closely and tests it out in the corner. "The benefits with this weapon would be that it is easier to carrier than a katana, and has a bit more reach than a basic dagger or kunai".

Uchiha Moeka stepped towards the pile of weaponry released from the teacher's scroll, inspecting them with her black eyes. She showed neither excitement nor anxiety as she looked over the swords, daggers, axes, gauntles, kusarigama, scythes, shuriken, and all other kinds of tools for murder; just a modest interest. She crouched down and picked up one of the smaller weapons in the pile. The girl thoroughly examined the kunai in her hand, twirling it around by the ring and between her fingers, and then stabbing through the air with a brief flurry to measure its weight.

"A kunai, a throwing knife. Small and easy to hide, extremely light, simple to craft out of practically any tool. As a throwing weapon, it's good for surprise attacks, just like shuriken, and is just a little bit heavier and longer than the throwing stars, so it's easier to reach the organs. As a melee weapon, it possesses minimal reach, so it can hardly suffice on its own in close quarters. Versatile, but by no means strong." The girl looked towards the teacher as she delivered the weapon's 'verdict', keeping herself clearly audible throughout the ring. "Not that it's any duller than a sword. It'll cut up a person just fine." Moeka added, spinning the weapon into a reverse grip.

With that finished, she glanced away from Shigeru in order to inspect her surroundings. The black eyes ran over the other students and the weapons in their hands, though she never lingered and stared at anyone. Her glance on Daisuke lasted for about a second longer than on the other students, one corner of her small mouth briefly twitching upwards to hint at the beginnings of an unpleasant smirk. But when Moeka turned back to the teacher, the traces of amusement were gone.

[MFT]

Hinote nodded in agreement with Shimatsu-sensei's words, a slight frown creasing his features as the class's instructor mentioned that he was losing touch with his ninjutsu.

"How is that even possible?" the boy wondered as Shigeru summoned a vast armory's worth of weapons from the scroll in the middle of the arena. "I mean . . . I agree that martial training is the basis of all shinobi combat, and that only a fool would trust his life to chakra alone. . . . "

"But how do you lose touch with the techniques you've learned?"

Hinote closed his eyes and sighed as Shimatsu-sensei instructed him and the rest of the students to test out a weapon and describe its properties.

"Guess it'll have to wait," he thought as he watched the others pick up their weapons of choice. After they were done, Hinote smirked as he walked over and picked up what seemed to be a knife with a wickedly curved blade and a non-traditional ring-shaped handle.

"The Fuuma Shuriken," Hinote began as he twirled the weapon so that all four blades were now clearly visible, "or otherwise known as the Shadow Windmill, is much like the kunai in that it can be used in both melee and ranged combat. Its blade is much longer than the kunai, however, making it cut deeper with each swing at the expense of less accurate attacks." He twirled it again, returning it to its single bladed form.

"If anything, I'd classify this as a projectile weapon with the ability to inflict bleeding: a versatile compliment to any shinobi's arsenal."

Hinote couldn't add much else to what Moeka and Daisuke had already mentioned about the kunai; he knew there wasn't much different between the Fuuma shuriken and the kunai two of the other students picked up except for aesthetic appearances.

[MFT: 307]

Shigeru watched his students closely. Though he wasn’t a master-at-arms himself, Shigeru did have formal knowledge of Taijutsu from his time in the academy and all his subsequent studying in the recent years. Shigeru was waiting for someone to say something wrong, but to his surprise, these small children all seemed to be esteemed killing machines in their own right. Whether that was a testament to the great teaching done at Kumogakure Academy or the general bloodthirst of children these days Shigeru did not know, and he certainly didn’t have the time to be mulling on about the differences just ten years can do to the mindset of children. In the end, Shigeru nodded at every student as they picked up their desired weapon. Though none of them, save Ryuuka, had chosen anything quite that out of the ordinary, the students knew how to use the weapons they held, just by the way they handled such instruments.

Leaning down, Shigeru picked up a small bow that had three arrows next to it. In the blink of an eye, he fired the arrows into the ground in front of three of the students, then in a flash he was in front of them, picking those same arrows up, finally he returned to the original spot with the arrow nocked again and the bow facing towards the general direction of the students. “Correct students. Every weapon has a weakness and a strength. For instance, this bow can run out of arrows at any time and then I would be out of a weapon. However, as shinobi, you have the ability to nullify whatever weakness your weapon may have. As you can see, by utilizing my chakra I was able to not only shoot off a volley of arrows but recover them back and continue fighting my opponents with ease. So I want you to focus on this as you fight me.” Shigeru immediately dropped the bow and formed a few handseals. Though it was hard to maintain such a large amount of clones, Shigeru made one for every student. The clones were an exact replica of the fiery man.

Every clone went to the pile and picked up a weapon that was similar to their opponent that they would face. The clones would be more than an even match for any of the students, and they would have to work their hardest to beat them. How would they deal with a stronger opponent using the exact same weapon they wielded?

[MFT: 418]
[OoC: Sorry I have been unbearably sick these past few days, and then once I was fine, I learned I am getting evicted! Yay life!!!! However, posting should return to normal. Sorry once more.]

Tazumoto wasn't sure what to do when the clone picked up the weapon he was wielding. He just got out of the hospital, he didn't want to return with a concussion. Rather than trying to beat down an opponent he couldn't win against. He would instead use his brain and try to hold off the attacker the best he could in a defensive struggle, until he had the opportunity to win. After all, there were no set rules in this fight. He would only become gravely injured going up against this person of greater strength. He had one advantage, that this was a clone and he knew from reading a book that clones typically have a little bit of the strength of the original. He counted the clones, there were seven in total. Tazumoto presumed that these clones would have one seventh of the strength of the original. That said Tazumoto readied himself against the onslaught.

Finally, the clone assigned to attack him made an advance. Tazumoto tried his best to mirror every single attack the clone threw. He was slower than the clone, and his right fist starting to bleed, his wound was reopening. "Dammit Dammit Dammit!!!" he said to himself. Just then, he realized his blood loss could be used as an advantage. He hopped back close to the end of the ring, blood dripped from his hands to the floor of the ring. Just as the clone got close, Tazumoto spun around and gave him a punch in the backside. He was counting that the blood on the ground and the force of his punch the clone would fall over the edge of the ring and onto the ground, preferably head first. If this worked, the impact of falling out should be enough to destroy the clone. If it was enough to destroy the clone Tazumoto would sit down in a pool of his own blood, remove the brass knuckles and grab a cloth from his pocket to apply pressure on the open wound. If this was not enough, Tazumoto would guard the edge of the ring, waiting to attack the clone if he tried to get back in. The blood would go from wet to sticky in no time. He had the advantage of time and the fact that the blood was fresh and there was a lot of it, well enough to cause someone to slip. But after a short amount of time, that advantage would be lost, and he would have nothing but blood loss to deal with and a pissed off opponent.

WC - 429

[[OOC - Wasn't too sure what to do with this, since no details were presented as to what we could do to destroy the clones, or if we could destroy the clones. So I provided two scenarios of what would happen if he knocked the opponent out of the ring. Hope you are feeling better, sorry to hear you are being evicted, that sucks]]

Sora saw what happened with tazu, meaning his clone should be.. The clone was already upon him, about to cleave the blade downwards before Sora quickly pivoted upon the left foot, springing off the ground backwards with the right. Though the clone was rather fast as by the time he move, it was making a horizontal slash at his face. Though Sora then leaned back, going into the matrix, before quickly making his counter attack. Sora decided to test his agility by thrusting the blade straight at the opponents chest. Though it was able to back away before giving a diagonal cut towards the left shoulder and across the body.

This was the opening Sora saw. He quickly rushed in the moment he raised the blade to start his attack. Raising the right arm he blocked the opponents forearm using his own, rhen attempted to give it s horizontal slash across the neck. If it struck it'd be enough to finish it as Sora would then look around at everybody else.
