It was difficult to even get the staff to take them seriously at first, however. They had stepped in and a nurse mistook them for another patient.
Another victim to the Cabal’s terrorist attacks.
Of course it was too easy to learn of the troubles plaguing this country in the here and now, what with all the death and destruction staring them in the face. And it took a lot to reign themselves in. It really was hard to resist their call. The voices of the dead sang to them, a far cry from the usual whispers they heard before they... before they became what they are now.
But they ignored them, no matter how sweet answering the call would be.
It would not do for them to get into trouble when they’d just been here for a day.
Anyway, we digress.
Where were we?
Oh yes.
It was difficult to make the staff believe they were here to aid them. It had taken a bit of maneuvering and a few radio calls to confirm that Sousuke had indeed sent them here, to defer to the medical chief Akujin. But, with the man too busy to see them at the moment – or so they assume, at least – so they were tasked to the menial chores around the place. For all that they claimed to be a skilled doctor, they weren’t trusted.
And they doubted that was only because of the fact that they were mercenaries.
One fool even had the bright idea of sending them to the pediatric floor. That had resulted in many children, crying about the freak, the monster that thought to plague their days. It was just downright awful and, many bawling baby and a tightlipped Akane later, they were reassigned to help out as an errand boy... girl... person at the emergency room
This is all...
“Troublesome,” Akane sighed, as they pushed a trolley of coolers along, each one filled with organs for some reason or another. She would be having words with the medical chief or the Kazekage later about the boy who thought traumatizing children with their appearance was funny. Other than that, she had little complaint in their quest to be on amicable terms with the Sand government.
Akihiko on the other hand – “This is such bullocks. We’re the prodigies of our generation, Shoukyou extraordinaire. We’ve got more medical knowledge in my thumb than most of these rookies do in their entire body. And we’re here carting party coolers when we could be bring people back from the brink of death.” And even beyond that, though they would not be so open about that particular tidbit in unknown territory.
“You know as well as I do that even this is important work to keep the hospital efficient. But do not blame them, brother mine. We are new and we do not exactly look like doctors now, do we?” Of course, that was a problem even before she and he became they, with people wary with how young they were. Why, Akihiko had done his first operation in the theater at the age of thirteen. Akane was... busy elsewhere, cutting people up for ANBU at the time, but that hardly made her any less of a doctor than her brother.
“Still, it is frustrating! To think we would be treated like... like mercenaries just because Kirigakure stands frozen,” he huffed, his frustration made clear.

- Inviting along Harupia, Ayame and Teke (if she wants). Anyone else can PM me if they want to join. Well, I guess you can jump in if you're a Medic (or Akujin) but it might get a bit crowded.
