Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy setting storyline set in the World of Ninjas where feudal daimyo, clans and ninja villages all wage war on each other for money, glory or for a common goal.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Hello everyone! This is a likely long-overdue Tech/Taboo update! You can read the actual thread here in the new Setting forum; the old Taboo thread has been removed from the Site Rules forum and archived.

The list has gotten a lot shorter, because we felt that much of the previous list had no real reasons to be on there anymore. This post, as noted, also functions as a changelog between the old and the new, so if you just want to know what is different, refer here.

What is totally allowed now:

  • Dragons: Note that there will be developments involving dragons in the near-ish future which will allow them for player usage; currently they are considered 'asleep' or 'hibernating' and none are yet active.
  • Flight: As long as you can come up with a reason for your character to be able to fly, it's fine; note that this does not interact with the battle system in any way. Additionally, flying vehicles are now considered viable transportation. However, those are entirely technological; this should not be construed as an okay to create a flying city or island.
  • Time/Space/Dimension Travel: These types of skills are part of several BL/CA/Kin and obviously they can use them, though people without something that has that shouldn't use them any more than a non-Uchiha should be using Sharingan.

What is less restricted now:

  • Technology: Anything up to 1989 is still fair game, period, but you can develop technology further IC as much as you like, with the exception of communication between countries. This also applies to medical technology; someone in your country develops it (or someone elsewhere does and word is sent out) and you can use it.
  • Guns: As long as it's not of the machine-gun 'point an strafe' vein, you can have it.
  • Vehicles: Civilians would get a lot of use out of them, after all. Don't get too carried away, but developing vehicles is perfectly okay and falls under general technology. As well, mass transport vehicles can be said to already exist.

This about covers the extent of it. As noted above, keep an eye out for Lore posts regarding dragons(!) in the future, which may or may not come with some other dragon-related goodness...we'll see.
