Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The treck up the mountains to this village was for more or less, tedious. He was already having his fill of this godforsaken country. He'd been scanning every passerby within the entirety of his visual range the entire way here. His head was hurting, he was cold, and the strain of looking for 2 people was getting to him. His attire was drastically different from what he normally wore. Instead of his signature blindfold, he instead wore a black bandanna that was large enough to cover the entire top portion of his face while pushing his dreads down to the back of his head. His gloves were comprised of a blended material to equip him for the colder weather while still allowing him free use of his individual fingers. This came at the cost of coverage to his fingers. His hands were warm, but the tips of his fingers were exposed. A small price to pay for preparedness. He wore a fleece hoodie and thick pants with leggings under them for warmth. His attire was to give him the look of a simple passerby. Maybe a farmer or blind beggar but definitely no one of importance or danger.

Eventually he reached civilization that he could only surmise was the hidden Cloud village. He could see the chakra emanating from the area due to the vast number of large chakra sources present in the area. His eyes were hidden and he used his walking stick as a blind man would in this situation. He'd practiced this persona for many years and it was nearly second nature to him. He'd keep walking until stopped.

"Hold there blind man! Your at the gates of Kumogakure and need to go through processing like everyone else!" I said in a jocular tone with a smile on my face. It wasn't often that you found the blind traveling outside of a caravan. It was dangerous of there with the threat of terrorists about and blind men usually didn't last long. At least their possessions didn't. Perhaps this was an old ninja who knew how to see with chakra? It was apparent that his chakra was much more prominent than the average person after all... Not that it mattered! He needed a passport just like everyone else... sort of.

I held my arm at, carefully so that his walking stick would hit it and know there was an obstruction in the way. "I hope you have brought documentation for yourself, or your stay might be short lived!" I continued in my friendly tone. Foolish me and my disposition toward the handicapped. I always did feel sorry for them.

So their defenses were at least mildly up. It was only minutes of reaching the area that he was stopped and asked questions. But the questions asked only spawned more questions.

One thing I've never understood about this so called 'passport' system. Every walled off city has their own system and the other cities aren't unified in their documentation. So whats to stop people from flashing a random piece of official looking paper? Who are you to say if its legitimate or not? Where's the logic in that kid?[/b] He would play the blind man a bit more. He didn't look that old, but how he acted would make anyone think he was a bit off his rocker, not in a looney way, but just a bit... off. It was his plan to do so even though what he said were true. Besides that, he DID have a passport. But if he didn't have to show it, he wouldn't. His words were actually true. There was no unified passport system between places. Anyone anywhere could present any passport looking type of document and be seen as legitimate.

"Hey now, I just follow the rules; I don't make 'em. So if you do have a passport from wherever you are from, it would help expedite things a lot faster. Honestly, I've made a reputation on making these hassles quick as possible!" I explained in a sympathetic fashion. "Honestly, I couldn't agree more. But rules are rules after all!" I responded with my arms folded across my chest habitually. I had come to rest in this position quite often, it allowed me to think better in my humble opinion. It seemed this man had done quite the travelling, but had never been to Kumo before. Unless it was before my time, which was possible. Hopefully he wasn't in some kind of trouble. We seemed to be getting a lot of those lately...

So this shinobi felt similarly to Kage about the whole passport debacle. An uncommon response, definitely not one that Kage expected to hear out of his mouth. But this situation had the potential to be an educational one. So he'd take the time to probe the young one a bit more.

Is that so? Well tell me this. What do you do once someone had shown you their passport? Better yet... a passport is given to those of ninja villages to allow them access into other ninja villages. What do you do for people who aren't ninja? What happens when you have someone from a close by town that doesn't have passports because they aren't ninja? This really was an interesting sort of questions. The entirety of the passport system was a logistical mess.

I couldn't help but sigh a small bit as the man began to speak. It seemed to me like he was making it his goal to educate me on the fallacies of the passport system. While I agreed with most of what he was saying, I was still going to do my job; despite how pointless it really was. "Well, in that case, protocol dictates I contact my superior for further orders. Though, we rarely turn anyone away, at least that's been the case in the past few months. And... Once we have their passport, we record what data we need from it in our books and monitor their stay and what not. Though that's not my department. I simply am a doorway to the village." I said with a more audible sigh.

A life of no glory. A pitiful existence. Though I was in charge, it held little glory. But then again, that was the life of a ninja was it not? We were to be selfless tools for the betterment of our superiors. For what? Money? All we were were highly trained mercenaries, taking contracts for money. Wait what was I thinking? I'm not paid to think!

"Anyways, do you have a passport or not?" I would ask, a bit of...distress in my voice? These thoughts that came to my head were dangerous, but they all seemed to logical. Our leader Shin preached otherwise, but there was a reason government wasn't a well taught subject in school. Why was I just realizing this now? Troublesome thoughts indeed.

He could tell that he was beginning to get on the ninja's nerves. Resisting the urge to smile at the realization, he would continue.

Ah... well I do indeed have a passport my good sir. Here you are. Kage then reached into his back pocket and pulled out a blank piece of paper.

Here ya go. Name's Kuromaru. Should have everything ya need there. He would wait for Zaku to take his 'passport' and see what happened from there.

Zaku_zps53651b1e.png

I looked down at the piece of paper and looked back at the man. "Well Kuromaru, I'm not sure if you realized because of your ailment, but you have given me a blank piece of paper. Whether it's a joke, or for real, it'd be easier if you just told me if I need to contact my superiors for approval or denial for your entrance. Honestly, unless you are in trouble, handing over a passport shouldn't be a problem..."

Friday : Dragon Tooth Pass : 10:34

Kage was really trying not to laugh at this situation. His ailment was anything but, but he would keep up the ruse because he wanted those to see him as a defenseless by-standard.

I don't think its funny to make jokes in this situation kiddo. I'm giving you my passport. I've been traveling for some time and as you can see, it may be kinda hard for me to get around. Its cold out here and this is the only civilization I've found for some time. I gave you my name. I'm from a small village in fire country when I originally left with my group, they gave me a passport and we ended up getting separated at some point. So here I am. Thats why I asked you about the passports earlier. My passports may not be accepted by your passports. So who are you to tell me whats legitimate or not? Kage enjoyed his stories when he told them to people. Being able to craft lies out of pure truth was a skill in itself and he enjoyed using it. Most of what he'd just said was indeed true, however the order of events may have not been so true. Either way, the ball was now in Zaku's court.

His story seemed to be that of a victim; though there appeared to be details missing. But even with this information, and his potent question that stuck in my mind, I couldn't bring myself to allow an entrance based on a blank piece of paper and a name which could be false.

"Just to be clear, I wasn't joking with you sir. I sincerely believe that your companions lied to you and took advantage of your lack of sight and gave you a simple piece of paper. And while I would like to help you out, it's out of my position to allow you entrance based on a name and piece of paper with nothing on it." I explained and then smirked, thinking of his final question.

"I am Captain Ishikawa. And I am the highest authority at the gates, reporting to only the sennin himself. If you wish, I will contact him and seek a solution to this predicament because I can't with good conscious allow this to be sufficient for entrance. Is that what you would like to do?" I concluded with a troubled mind. While i didn't want to turn him away, if he made it all the way from Fire to Lightning, he would be able to handle himself; I assumed.

Friday : Dragon Tooth Pass : 10:36AM

Now just a second. Even if this piece of paper IS blank, how would you know if any other piece of paper I gave you was legitimate? My question to you sir is that if I gave you what you would think is a proper passport would you take me at my word then? I could just as easily forge an official looking document some place and present it to you. You even said yourself that you monitor those who visit you so what does it matter if this passport is fake, blank, real, or anything else. This red tape you're putting me through makes no sense. If you plan to monitor my stay here what does it matter? Truthfully, Kage was arguing for argument's sake. He was however giving off the portrayal of an agitated traveler who was frustrated and for what seemed like good reason. Had Kagemaru actually been a blind traveler, he'd be VERY upset that the paper he had was indeed false.

There was one thing my parents had always told me, and that was to be a broken record when people simply weren't going to listen to the facts and realize argumentation wasn't going to work. Despite logic, I still had my job to do. And so far, the blind man had done nothing to give me reason to allow him entry. I personally would not feel good about letting him through.

"I don't make the red tape sir, I am only here to enforce it. If you would like to file a complaint, we can do that. But until something changes you still aren't going to make it through the gates. I'm sorry, but the same red tape that prohibits you, also prohibits myself." I explained once more before taking a few steps away, sending a knowing glare to my second in command, Fuyuri Katsu. The jounin moved closer just in case the man made some kind of move towards the gates while I was going to speak to the Main Branch Sennin.

"Takaki-sama. We seem to have a confused handicap at the gates with no information about himself aside from a name. Also, he appears to be rather vocal against our requirements for entering the village and it's making me feel uneasy. This isn't like the others who have come recently either. Where they cooperated and gave their information, this one seems to be purposefully reluctant to do so. Do you have any advise?"

Well he had seen this coming and while this situation was amusing, there was a disturbance that Kage felt rupture through his body like a surge of electricity. His Chakra Sense was going off and this chakra was a strange one indeed. The man who'd kidnapped him not too long ago, this... Doctor had appeared again. The chakra sense was just now going off because when Kage was released, the man and his female companion vanished in their strange blue box that was bigger on the inside and his chakra sense of them vanished as well. Unfortunately this man's arrival took precedence in Kage's mind as he wanted to confront the Doctor about what had happened to him, so looking to Zaku with his hidden eyes, he spoke.

This has been fun boyo, but a very important person has reappeared not too far from here and as entertaining as it is messing with you, I've got serous things to take care of now. He turned to dash off and away. He had dropped any sign of fatigue he was giving off let alone any signs of frailty. Kagemaru was about to drop in on the Doctor.

[OOC: I wasn't expecting you to call Masao. And I'm NOT leaving because you did that. However, I try to stick to one RP at a time to keep RP continuity for myself and I want to RP with Kouin now. I'll be back later.]

And with that, the crazy man was gone. All signs of his frailty gone.

"Weird. Silly world we live in. Time for some...chocolate milk and oreos." I said with a bounce in my voice.

I knew there would be more needed entrance, but I didn't need to deal with all of them right?

Nope, surely there were others in the village who could do this job as well!
