Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Ball (Mission) (REQ Kaen)

"35 Million, is that the final price? 40 million? 45 mil-" Lady Boyle looked at each guest, then turned towards her right to see if the Maids and the disguised Kaen were still there watching. They were unfortunately gone now as the two maids "left" and Kaen well; he was setting his plan in motion. Turning back towards the bidders, she felt something. She couldn't see it exactly, but what felt like a presence in front of her that was face to face with her. As she was about to look closer she froze in place, she tried to move, but her body wouldn't respond. Then a loud snap could be heard to her left. Whatever happened next in her mind was over in a flash, the chandelier came crashing down on her; the sharp point at the bottom of the chandelier ended her life almost instantly. If that didn't kill her, then the weight of the lovely lighting piece smashed into her skull; neck and upper chest. It was like dropping a bigger gaudier anvil. She was good as dead. Everyone, including the guards, stepped back in shock as it all happened so fast. The man holding the briefcase didn't even feel the bind that Kaen used on him; although he felt like he forgot something, it was already gone. The briefcase was missing from his hands.

The only person missing was the disguised Kaen, who completely vanished.

------------------------------------------
Kagari slowly closed the door behind him, with the deed of killing the doctor done all that was left was Lady Boyle and finding the dossier. Hopefully, Ruin would respond soon; Kagari wasn't sure what his current status is. Now back in the hallway, he went back to the window he came through earlier. Once he was through the window, he jumped back onto the balcony he was on overlooking the grounds of the mansion. He was going to slip back into where the auction was held. Just in case if Ruin were behind schedule, he would head back in to see if he could see where the situation was the hostess of the party. Then, a loud crash echoed through followed by screams. He saw guards moving into where the crash came from, various men and women running from the scene. "The Lady is down, I repeat, Lady down. I have the objective and am moving out." Finally, Ruin would respond after his silence, he must have been busy. "A bit loud don't you think? Meet me by the kitchens." Walking past the scene of the crime, he saw what was left of Lady Boyle. All he saw was tomato paste and some body parts crushed under a massive chandelier. Whistling at the sight in front of him, he knew why Ruin was his code name. Guards left, and right made their way past him, focused on getting to the scene of the crime rather than apprehending suspects at the moment. The guests themselves was curious what was going on, all of them on the 2nd floor heard the crash, but the ones who witnessed the "accident" were all in the room or left in fear.

Now back on the ground floor where the "normal" guests were. A few of them perked their heads up, curious about all the sudden movement of guards and staff. The crash also might have alerted some of them, but most were preoccupied with their drink and conversation. Rounding a corner, he was nearby the central kitchen. Servants were walking back and forth; focused on their duties rather than the sudden crash. Hopefully, Ruin would be here soon, if they stayed any longer they might draw suspicion.

The deed was done, mission nearly completed. With briefcase now in hand and the light at the end of the tunnel now visible, Kaen slinked away under cover of darkness. Or rather super secret ninja stealth skills. He would chuckle to himself lightly as Joker perked up over the radio; "A bit loud don't you think? Meet me by the kitchens." If only Joker knew the half of it, this was relatively quiet in terms of what he could REALLY do. Yes, well... Guess I'll have to work on that, Joker-sama. Kaen liked this guy, he knew how to get a job done, quickly and quietly. It's not everyday you find someone you can put your faith in and not get burnt. In any case, I'm on my way. Kaen left the upper floors, tiptoeing past everyone, sticking near the shadows. Once he was in a familiar place he would take to the servants paths, as the girl from before made clear that nobody patrolled. After that, finding the kitchens were easily discovered, as many servants were coming and going with silver trays of food, or returning with empty platters. It was pointless now to keep up the facade, Kaen would duck into an empty broom closet and drop his transformation and released his stealth technique. He would then step out of the closet, nodding to a passing servant that gave him a strange look. Kaen just nodded and smiled as he straightened out his suit and fixed his cuff links. A moment later he would casually stroll into the kitchens where Joker was waiting for him. "Well that was all very... interesting." Kaen swept the room quickly, in case one of those maids happened to have followed him. He didn't see anything, but they vexed his mind, they were an unknown in all of this, he needed to be vigilant. "Oh, I got you a gift." Kaen would jest as he relinquished control over the briefcase over to Joker.

Kagari waited patiently inside the kitchens for his companion to rejoin him so they can leave. The waiting staff slowed down a bit, most of them were on their breaks or because most of the guests were taken care of. The servants mostly avoided Kagari, probably because he had that golden pin still on his collar. A few of them asked if he needed anything but Kagari responded with just wanting to take a break a from the noise and people in the party. He complimented them on their service, so the staff didn't mind him waiting off to the side. Finally, after a few minutes, Ruin entered with a briefcase in hand. "Well, that was all very... interesting." Ruin surveyed the room quickly, before turning back to Kagari. Kagari perked his eyebrow up, was paranoid about being suspected for the assassination? From the sounds and looks of things the guards believe it was a fatal accident. "Oh, I got you a gift." Kagari took the briefcase from Ruin's hands. Kagari looked around, made sure that none of the kitchen staff got too curious. Opening it, he spotted an open folder, still sealed via chakra. He grabbed the folder and put it into his coat pocket. He then stuffed the briefcase underneath the table. "Nice grab. Come on; we can walk and talk." Kagari gestured for his red-haired compatriot to follow.

The duo would make their way through the kitchen, passing staff and chefs along the way. "I got worried you know. When I tried to get a hold of you, you didn't answer. But I saw what you did when I passed by, good work." Kagari complimented the ANBU in training. Ruin did do a good job; he was able to dispose of Lady Boyle and grab the package. So far no one was none the wiser about what just occurred. "You can debrief later about how you got it done, but regardless we were able to finish the job." They arrived at a back door, Kagari opened it up slowly to see if anyone was around; only a few workers smoking on the side were there. They were pretty much in the clear.

"Well, I do believe we are successful." Kagari shut the door behind them; they were on the side of the mansion. They were by the alleyway where they met up initially. As Kagari was about to leave, a voice called out to them. "Aren't you forgetting something?" The orange haired girl that Ruin met earlier showed up. "I thought you were gonna stay, didn't you want to collect "evidence"?" Kagari smirked, he knew who the voice was.

Koko came out of the shadows; it looked like she was waiting for them. "I can't steal anything because guards are scrambling everywhere! What did you two do?" She huffed out, apparently steamed. "I told you what we were doing tonight, did you not expect it might get a bit hot after we did our jobs?" She pouted, "Whatever, I was able to snag a few things, so we're good." Kagari sighed, "Let's get going; we stayed at this place long enough right?" Kagari asked the two. It was a rhetorical question, Kagari was already on walking towards a more secure spot.

The trio was now at the alleyway where this all started, Kagari looked around to make sure they were alone. He first introduced the orange haired girl, "You two met already, this is Koko, and she's my....helper?"

"I'm not your helper!" She shouted.

"Ok, then she's my responsibility. I sent her in before the two of us enter the party; since her previous work was a thief, I thought she would be useful for this mission. Which she was." Kagari introduced the orange haired girl. "And as a bonus, I said that she could...liberate a few items from the mansion for evidence. It may or may not turn up...who knows." Kagari shrugged and winked at Koko. She rolled her eyes. "Hopefully we can keep that out of the debriefing. Right?" Kagari asked Ruin. "Anyways, give me a rundown on what happened. I'll tell you my side once you're done."

"Nice grab. Come on; we can walk and talk." Kaen would nod and follow his team leader. The pair of anbu made their way, weaving in and out between staff. "I got worried you know. When I tried to get a hold of you, you didn't answer. But I saw what you did when I passed by, good work." Kaen chuckled softly. "Yeah it got a little messy up there, no pun intended." The pair kept their pace, making their way to the exit. . "You can debrief later about how you got it done, but regardless we were able to finish the job." Kaen nodded in agreement, a job done was a job well done. For all these people knew, it was just a crazy accident. Granted those two maids might cause some issues in the future, if their paths were to ever cross again that is. He and Joker found the exit where Joker then slowly opened the door to make sure the coast was clear. It checked out, and they walked into the cold, crisp, fresh air. It was like a weight lifting off their shoulders as the cool night air hit their face and filled their lungs.

"Well, I do believe we are successful." Indeed they were, Kaen was awfully curious on how Joker dispatched the good doctor, but he could just wait and read the report. Kaen on the other hand had a more direct approach to sharing the details. "Aren't you forgetting something?" Out from the shadows waltz that girl from earlier. What was she doing here?! . "I thought you were gonna stay, didn't you want to collect "evidence"?" Ah... Seemed the girl did work for Joker, or at least had some sort of agreement worked out in exchange for intel. Was she waiting for them? How did she know which door they would take? This evening was taking its toll on him in terms of curiosities. Kaen would watch as the pair bickered back and forth for a moment. Seems they did indeed have something worked out, no matter. The girl helped in someway so Kaen didn't pay it any mind. "Let's get going; we stayed at this place long enough right?" There was sarcasm if he ever saw it. The sooner the left, the better. Kaen would nod in agreement to his question.

The trio made their way back to the alley where this whole ordeal begun. , "You two met already, this is Koko, and she's my....helper?" Koko piped up in a huff; "I'm not your helper!" Seemed she had some spunk to her. "Ok, then she's my responsibility. I sent her in before the two of us enter the party; since her previous work was a thief, I thought she would be useful for this mission. Which she was." Kagari continued. "And as a bonus, I said that she could...liberate a few items from the mansion for evidence. It may or may not turn up...who knows." Kagari shrugged and winked at Koko. She rolled her eyes in response. "Hopefully we can keep that out of the debriefing. Right?" Kaen perked up a bit, this wasn't exactly protocol... but she provided a service, so I suppose this would be her payment of sorts. "It's a pleasure, Koko. Also keep what out of the debriefing?" Kaen pretended to play dumb, playing into his request to leave it from the record. He would of course do so. "Anyways, give me a rundown on what happened. I'll tell you my side once you're done." Kaen smiled a bit, he might like this. "Well I had some trouble getting past the guards after my run in with Koko here, but I used some quick wit and transformed into a guard. Then I easily got upstairs. After that was kind of a mess. Lady Boyle approached me near the second stairwell with some other guards. Her two maids were interesting, you could say. After that... well... Kaen would approach Joker and attempt to place his hand over Joker's forehead. If he was allowed, Joker would see a little flash as the memory was shared into his consciousness. In a few seconds he would have relived the rest of the details through Kaen's eyes. After the sharing sequence had been completed, Kaen would remove his hand and step back. "Quite the evening, right?"

Kagari would listen intently to Ruin's story; he was curious about how Lady Boyle ended up being squashed by a chandelier. "Well, I had some trouble getting past the guards after my run in with Koko here, but I used some quick wit and transformed into a guard. Then I easily got upstairs. After that was a mess. Lady Boyle approached me near the second stairwell with some other guards. Her two maids were interesting, you could say. After that... well..." Ruin would pause, then approached Kagari and attempted to place a hand on forehead. "What are you-" Before Kagari could react, flashes of scenes from Ruin's point of view flooded his brain. Kagari felt a slight headache but shook it off and lightly touched the spot where Ruin placed his hand. "Quite the evening, right?" Kagari raised his eyebrows, "You could say that again...Your side was way more exciting."

"Wait, what just happened?!" Koko looked confused at what just occurred in front of her. "Somehow, Ruin here was able to share his memories with me; well just the ones about the mansion. That's pretty efficient; I would love to learn that someday. It would make explaining things a whole lot easier." Kagari paused, recollecting himself. He did feel exhausted; maybe because it was the sudden burst of information that came crashing into his mind that made him feel slow. "That's troubling though Ruin. The fact that they knew we were here in the first place is alarming; we must have infiltrators within the ANBU. Maybe, in fact, the entire Shinobi infrastructure. That's probably why we were ordered to kill those two in the first place..." Kagari pondered on who it could be. "Wait, what?!" Koko exclaimed. "I'll tell you about it later...For now, keep it between the two of us. As the cute maid said, they'll always be watching. Regardless you did well out there Ruin; I understand now why you went radio silent." Kagari took out the dossier from his coat and handed it to Ruin. "You should turn it in and...make a copy just in case. If this thing has details on the entire ninja infrastructure, it may be able to help us find who the double agents may be. We can look at recent staff changes, history, and records related to these people in the archives somewhere."

"but...that's up to you. From this point on whatever you do with it is up to you. This is the part where as ANBU we decide what is good for the village. This dossier puts many lives in danger, but at the same time can help us save a few. We don't know who these people are and if we start dealing out blind justice just for the sake of Suna, then that wouldn't make us any better than the power couple over there." Kagari yawned, looking visibly tired. "But that decision can be saved for tomorrow...I've had enough for one night. You coming, Koko?"

"Nah, I was gonna sneak back in once everyone's gone." Kagari Shrugged. "Suit yourself." Kagari began walking off towards the transfer stations to Grand Palais, "Whatever you do. Know that I have your back. Joker out." Kagari smiled and disappeared in a flash.

"Wait, what just happened?!" Joker's other comrade exclaimed in confusion, obviously having no clue what had just happened. "Somehow, Ruin here was able to share his memories with me; well just the ones about the mansion. That's pretty efficient; I would love to learn that someday. It would make explaining things a whole lot easier." Ruin would smile with a slight hint of smugness to it. It wasn't often the student knew tricks the master didn't. "Perhaps I can teach it to you sometime, it's an extremely useful tool, especially when it comes to writing up our field reports ha ha." Joker paused a moment, most likely caught up in recuperating from a flood of information. "That's troubling though Ruin. The fact that they knew we were here in the first place is alarming; we must have infiltrators within the ANBU. Maybe, in fact, the entire Shinobi infrastructure. That's probably why we were ordered to kill those two in the first place..." Kagari Kaen would nod in agreement, these were trying times when you cant even trust those around you. . "Wait, what?!" Koko exclaimed. "I'll tell you about it later...For now, keep it between the two of us. As the cute maid said, they'll always be watching. Regardless you did well out there Ruin; I understand now why you went radio silent." Kaen attempted to remain uninhibited by his kind words, it's been a long time since he had been congratulated for anything. "Ahem, thank you sir." Joker then took out the files from within the briefcase and handed them to Kaen. . "You should turn it in and...make a copy just in case. If this thing has details on the entire ninja infrastructure, it may be able to help us find who the double agents may be. We can look at recent staff changes, history, and records related to these people in the archives somewhere." This was quite the burden he was bestowing upon him, so much potential power and damage that laid in his hands right now. Kaen Pocketed the documents into his coat. He would do his duty and turn them into the captain, certainly the infestation wasn't capable of reaching power like that. "but...that's up to you. From this point on whatever you do with it is up to you. This is the part where as ANBU we decide what is good for the village. This dossier puts many lives in danger, but at the same time can help us save a few. We don't know who these people are and if we start dealing out blind justice just for the sake of Suna, then that wouldn't make us any better than the power couple over there." Seemed he had a long day, perhaps a nap was in order. "But that decision can be saved for tomorrow...I've had enough for one night. You coming, Koko?" Joker turned his attentions towards his partner in crime, so to speak. "Nah, I was gonna sneak back in once everyone's gone." Kagari Shrugged. "Suit yourself." Kagari turned to walk away. "Whatever you do. Know that I have your back. Joker out." Kagari smiled and disappeared into the night. Kaen would watch as Koko slipped back into the estate to go steal some more nick nacks and keep sakes. Kaen on the other hand had a mission to finish.

Later that night...

"Team Leader Joker delegated me to return to base and relinquish the mission items to you, sir." Kaen was kneeling before a shrouded figure, deep within the confines of Anbu headquarters. There were no real discernible features to this man, only that he was shrouded by darkness and the black garb he wore around him like a cloak make it that much more difficult to make anything out. "Let's see it then..." The man let out a rusty sounding command, it seemed as if he was in a foul mood. Kaen would stand and walk closer to the man, holding the documents out for him to relinquish from Kaen's possession. "Hmm..." The low grumbling continued as he perused over the file. "I suppose this will do... It's a shame that you were not able to catch any of other participants from that night..." Fortunately for Kaen, his trick from earlier would be sure to please the captain. "About that, sir..." A pair of glowing eyes, peering from behind a cold dark mask would perk up. "Eh?" Kaen would reach up to his forehead and pull forth the snap shot of that night from his mind. It hovered just above his palm as he held it outwards for the Captain. "Most curious..." It was obvious the captain was interested. He wasted little time in apprehending the snap shot memory from Kaen, taking it into his own mind. A few seconds would go by as the Captain processed the raw information and relived those moments. "Incredible... You actually managed to get visual confirmation of their chakra signatures with this... I am most pleased young warrior... Keep this up and I will personally recommend you for advancement. You may leave now..." Kaen would nod, and would leave as instructed. Two praises this night, Kaen felt good... Perhaps he would go out and celebrate.
