NPC: Mikaboshi
BGM: LINK
"Malleable is accurate, to say nothing else." Mikaboshi remarked, pushing down on her heart with all of the enormity of his presence within the intention to push her back into unconsciousness. They'd uncovered enough intelligence for today and were reaching the point where interrogation would cease to be effective because of the trauma it placed upon Avaron. She would either grow incoherent or Mikaboshi would lose control of the situation and she would find a way to terminate her own life during the session and neither of those things were what he was looking for.
Something is in The Pit...
Tenken's assessment of the Sovereign agent was... interesting, to say the least. He was right in that her reaction to her confinement was singular in the sense that most individuals who were condemned to the Obsidian Palace did not last long at this depth while remaining so coherent. Even sarcastic. Mikaboshi had been willing to chalk that up to her innate power to draw from the spirits of those around them. The hungry darkness of the Obsidian Palace was much like a living creature in itself as it had taken so much life over the years that the shadows had very much taken on an existence of their own. They did not seem to possess intelligence of any sort but certainly it could not be argued that the gloom of the Obsidian Palace was the same as the shadows cast on the surface or even the darkness of the underground cavern that Sunagakure had previously been situated within.
If Avaron drifted once more into unconsciousness, Mikaboshi would release her for the moment. He did not wish to kill her-- only render her... inert for the time being. She would need to be moved to a more secure cell that she could not cause damage to quite so easily as well as one that was not already damaged. He still had much he wished to do with her but for the time being he'd achieved enough. While Mikaboshi had not completely agreed with the conclusions that Tenken had arrived at, Avaron's reaction to them informed him that either by luck or by genius he was correct to some level. It seemed Avaron knew something about the Obsidian Palace that they did not.
"We should relocate her to a more secure cell. Perhaps one that has been maintained more proficiently. There is still much to be learned from her." Mikaboshi would advise if indeed Avaron succumbed to his intention to return her to unconsciousness before indicating Avaron's sagging arm which was free from the wall where previously she'd been chained. "In the mean time, perhaps we should compare notes. I certainly hope you are more prepared to take the threat of the Sovereign more seriously than your contemporary."
