Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

:~The Gates~:
A winding path leads the weary travel to Kumogakure. Without experience or a guide, it can be easy to lose your way on the hike up the side of mountains. If you make it all the way to Kumogakure's entrance you'll find an imposing stone wall spanning from mountain wall to mountain wall of the slim pass leading to the village. The gates leading through the wall are nearly as massive as the wall itself, rarely opening more than a crack for travelers and merchants to pass through. Guards watch vigilantly from within the towers atop the wall. On the outside, a building sits a short walk from the gates and a stones throw from the cliff side and a drop one is not likely to survive. This serves as a place for travelers awaiting approval for entry to warm themselves and also as the final stop of the freight gondola that brings supplies from further down the mountain. To give one an idea of the setup of the gates area.

:~Rogues and Criminals~:
Note: This list is available to all shinobi performing gate duties as well as their description when possible.
  • Rakujo Yumeko, S-Rank Criminal, former Cloud Chuunin
  • Yami, A-Rank Criminal, former Cloud Jounin
  • Karu Tetsuyama, X-Class Criminal, Mizu no Kuni [Kirigakure no Sato] Rogue Shinobi
  • Uchiha Anatsu: Presumed to be a former Konoha shinobi. Known for assaulting Kumogakure shinobi at the gates. Banned from entry after said incident [Link]. Wanted for questioning in regards to false claims he made about Konoha [Link].
  • Kaen of Sand, S-rank Criminal. Attacked Cloud shinobi. Was captured, but broke out of jail and fled the village harming more Cloud shinobi along the way.

Presumed Deceased:

:~Kumo Rules for Using the Gates~:
1. A Kumo resident may not exit the gates without a passport.
2. When entering or leaving through the gates, one MUST be granted entry/exit by an authorised shinobi.
3. The entering/exiting party must state their name and reason for travelling in or out of the gate.
4. In regard to who is authorized to permit entry/exit:
  • Kumo Chuunin+ (or specifically authorised) shinobi of any branch are authorised to grant entry/exit to one of Kumo's own shinobi with valid passport, but not a foreign shinobi.
  • Kumo Jounin+ (or specifically authorised) shinobi are authorized to grant entry/exit to foreign shinobi with valid passport.
  • If a foreign shinobi is not in possession of a valid passport, contact a Sennin or the Raikage via radio immediately for a decision on whether or not to grant entry/exit. In most cases this will result in a denial.
5. It shouldn't be necessary to say this, but if your character is considered to be outside the village at the moment, they cannot grant entry/exit at the gates. You also may not grant entry/exit to yourself with your own NPC or a gate NPC.

:~Obtaining a Kumo Passport~:
There are two types of passports obtainable by Kumo Shinobi for different purposes.
Mission Passport
1. This type of passport is automatically assumed to be given to participants upon a mission being approved to begin IF it takes place outside of the village.
2. It is good for one exit and one reentry only. Afterwards, it is no longer valid.
3. This will work for either modded or self-modded missions, for any rank shinobi.

Travel Passport
1. This type of passport must be requested by the recipient via a 200 word RP at the Torre Celeste and granted by the Raikage or a council controlled NPC. The requesting party must state their name, reason for travel, expected destinations, and expected duration of travel.
2. This type of passport is available only to Chuunin+ Kumo shinobi.
3. The passport holder may also bring up to two Genin rank shinobi to be stated at the time of the passport request, with good reason. They MUST be with the passport holder upon village exit/reentry.

Other Notes
1. Students may not exit the village unless for a mission, though this is rare.
2. When entering/exiting, a Kumo shinobi must link to either their mission approval or the RP where they were granted their passport.

:~Rules for Masked ANBU Entry~:
A masked ANBU represents a challenge to gate security. Of course, to enter, their identity must be verified, but at the same time they cannot remove their mask. The solution is the ANBU tattoo. This unique tattoo is only given to ANBU of Kumogakure and cannot be reproduced in any way due to it's nature. The tattoo is invisible naturally, but the entering/exiting ANBU can make it appear for verification at will, or another ANBU can cause it to appear with their touch. The tattoo will have an image or symbol which changes monthly and the ANBU's codename. The ANBU must still hold a passport, though the information may obviously be redacted if the ANBU is masked, to protect their identity. It would contain their codename rather than actual name, and the reason for leaving may be classified, as well as any information regarding the appearance of their face or distinguishing marks. The tattoo serves as the main method of verifying that the passport belongs to the ANBU, and the passport shows that the ANBU is permitted to leave.

:~Telegraph Office~:
Kumogakure no Sato is equipped with the most modern and comprehensive messaging equipment, including an office to receive electric telegraphs, passenger pigeons, mirror signals, semaphore, and other means of telegraphy and message conveyance!

Re: The Gates Manual

Travel Rules
Important:</COLOR>
  • When leaving a Village, you MUST leave through the Village Gates. You may ask to be let out safely, or use your Runtime to exit without any others consent (This is Going Missing if it is in your village, or a Force Exit if you do not belong to this village).
  • When Entering a village it is much like leaving a village; you MUST enter through the gates. This can be done by asking to be let in the village normally, or can be done by using your run time to 'Force Enter' a village without the consent of others.
  • You cannot join any topic that started -before- your character entered the country unless you have the approval of all within the topic.
  • If a user is in a Requesting Entrance or Requesting Exit thread and not approached within the five day time limit, the user may automatically enter or leave the location.
  • If a user leaves a village (by requesting exit) they may not enter any new topics within the village until reentry (Either by Force Enter or Requesting Entrance)

Area Types
[spoilername="Area Types in Detail"]Village Threads
All threads marked with - Location: "Somewhere"gakure. These locations are found within the respective village.
Village Gate Threads

Intervillage Threads
All threads marked with - Location: XX Country. These locations are outside of a village.
Missing Area Threads
All threads marked with - Location: Missing Area. These locations act as a village of their own and are treated that way when entering and leaving.
[/spoilername]

How to Travel
[spoilername="Basic Travel Rules"]Important:
  • Be sure to always post your run time along with your rank in your post.

Continuity
  • The Village Gates require either permission to enter/exit, or a successful Forced Entry/Exit/Going Missing in order to enter or leave a village.
  • While inside a village, you may rp in threads inside of that village, or in the village's outer-village zones.
  • You cannot enter a village if you have ongoing threads in another village.
  • You must leave the village itself (through the gates) to go to another country but may have threads still in progress in the previous village you left. However, you must complete those topics before you can enter another country's village, so you can only post in the OV zones of that country until you have completed all of your topics in the previous village.
  • Changing countries requires one to wait their run time.
  • You must state when you are going to another country, and after you leave a country you cannot make new threads in that country.
  • You can not join any threads that began before you entered that country.

Passports
  • To leave your village lawfully and to enter another village lawfully, one must obtain a passport. Passports are IC permission to leave the village by either your village's council or the Kage of your village. One may not go missing if they show their passport on a missing attempt. To get a passport, request for it at your village's Request board.

Leaving And Entering Villages and Countries
Joe Ninja leaves Village A via the Gate.
Joe Ninja goes from the Village A Gate to the Country A Intervillage Area.
Joe Ninja goes from Country A Intervillage Area to Country B Intervillage Area
Joe Ninja goes from Country B Intervillage Area to Village B Gate.
Joe Ninja goes from Village B Gate to Village B.
[/spoilername]

Run Times
[spoilername="Run Times in Detail"]Important:
  • Be sure to always post your run time along with your rank in your post.

Determining Your Run Time
  • Your Runtime is determined by you OOC rank, and to each Rank is a set time which is the amount of real life time given after the post in which another character may post to "Catch" the person trying to go missing.
  • A run must be done in a new topic tagged with "going missing", and your post must list your run time, and cannot be edited.
  • If any of these aspects are lacking, the attempt will be voided.

Run Times Are Used When
  • Going Missing/Catching those going missing
  • Force Exiting Village Gates/Catching Force Exit attempts
  • Force Entering Village Gates
  • Creating and leaving a thread in the same post. (Cannot use run time to exit any thread which has other people in it.)
  • Country A IV area -> Country B IV area

Run Times
E-Rank - 5 Hours (300 minutes) to leave village
D-Rank - 4 Hours (240 Minutes) to leave village
C-Rank - 3 Hours (180 Minutes) to leave village
B-Rank - 2 Hours (120 Minutes) to leave village
A-Rank - 1 Hour (60 Minutes) to leave village
S-Rank - 30 Minutes to leave village
[/spoilername]

NPC Run Times
[spoilername="NPC Run Times in Detail"]Important:
  • Be sure to always post your run time along with your rank in your post and also take note that NPC's have different run times from your PC!

Created NPC's:
  • Standard NPC run time is treated as two ranks below the owner's actual rank while PC turned NPC run time is based on the rank they retired at.
    • Example: An NPC is created and the player is A-Rank. The NPC's run time would be considered C-Rank causing them to wait 3 hours or 180 minutes to exit a location.

Retired PC's:
  • If a player retires their previous PC at A-Rank, turning them into an Independent NPC. That character retains the A-Rank run time, allowing them to enter or exit locations at 1 hour or 60 minutes. However, once the player advances to S-Rank the former PC will still be considered A-Rank with this system.
[/spoilername]

Group Running
[spoilername="Group Running in Detail"]<COLOR color="red">Important:
  • Be sure to always post your run time along with your rank in your post.

  • Group Runtimes use the lowest ranked member's run time, and starts from the time of the last member to post.
  • Only the Topic starter's post must list each runner and their ranks and run times, any of their partners running do not have to post their rank runtimes.
[/spoilername]

Going Missing, Force Entering/Exiting
[spoilername="Going Missing, Force Entering and Exiting Rulings"]Important:
  • Always post your run time along with your rank.

Basic Rulings
  • If you are going missing, you MUST include '[Going Missing]' in the topic title.
  • If you are force entering, you MUST include '[Force Entering]' in the topic title.
  • If you are force exiting, you MUST include '[Force Exiting]' in the topic title.
    • If you fail to do this, your topic will be Voided, and you will NOT have gone missing/Entered/Exitted.

Catching from Going Missing and Force Exiting/Stopping from Force Entering:
  • Another Nin trying to pursue the runner should be no less then a single rank below the other.
  • When Stopping from Force Entering, there is no rank restrictions for one to stop an intruder.
  • ANBU with the Sentinel Ability have +45 Minutes to catch any Missing/Force Entry/Exit attempts in their respective village's gates. This means that an S-Rank attempting to go missing must wait 30 minutes for their run time, plus an additional 45 minutes to be safe from any ANBU.
    • Example: Ninja A has decided to run while B-Rank, before their time is up (120 mins) Ninja B sees that they are running. Ninja B is C-Rank and their rank is only one below Ninja A's so they may pursue them.

In order to catch/intercept a person:
  • A FULL roleplay must be made.
  • 'Catch' is no longer accepted after the Run Time has expired.
  • Do not edit your catch post! If a 'Catch' post is edited the post is voided.
  • A 'Catch' no longer takes up a Mission slot for the Catcher.

Who is involved in a catch/intercept battle:
  • For the whole duration of the run period anyone who enters, enters the first round of combat no matter when a bmod is called
  • Once the run time has finished no-one may enter the thread until after the first round of battle has been fought, and only if they've been contacted and asked to come.
  • In order to contact someone and allow them to enter the thread after the run time has expired, they must have either been contacted by the Headset item.

After they are gone:
  • After someone has left a village there should be only a 45 minute time period in which an ANBU may attempt catching a missing Nin. Only an ANBU or Jounin rank+ member of any village may attempt a catch at someone who is outside a village's gates and in an Inter-village zone unless your character has RPed leaving the village with permission and would be in the area to do so. There is no time limit for joining a topic without hostile intent. Under normal circumstances, Genin and even most Chuunin are unlikely to be sent after any type of Missing Nin.
[/spoilername]

Invalid Missing Attempts:
[spoilername="Invalid Missing Attempts in Detail"]
  • If one is caught by a villager from the village one is running from and was released by lying, showing a passport, etc, one is NOT considered missing.
  • If one is caught by an outsider (such as a missing or a foreign nin) only to be let out, that can be seen as loopholing, and will not be considered a successful missing attempt.
  • Whether caused by faulty calculations or not having left all RPs, the missing attempt turns into a Free RP.
[/spoilername]

The Use of RP:
[spoilername="The Use of RP in Detail"]
  • This system does not take into account circumstances such as jutsu use (such as transparent escape) and is simply to be used as a cut off time so that those leaving and those pursuing know when they have gotten away (so that the Missing Nin may move on and RP in other areas without fear that someone will harass them in a topic considered already finished).
