Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kinjutsu App ::
[spoilername="Kinjutsu Application"]Life as a Gateru seemed to be difficult, but death… that came naturally. Thus, it probably didn’t surprise anybody when the family’s penchant for short life spans struck down all but the two youngest girls, who were saved by a twisted Kumogakue ANBU turned doctor. Through his twisted experiments, he frankensteined the dozen corpses into two relatively functional creatures, and left the unconscious siblings to enjoy their new sense of family unity.

Several years after the trauma died down and more practical assistance was given, Rega and her sister Rana began to delve into the darkness of their own transformations, the later joining the Med-Nin and figuring out the biological effects of the surgery. All their lives, they had literally been carrying not just the body parts, but the very souls and minds of their kin, and the voices and desires of the siblings drove both to near insanity on many occasions, but the dark arts allowed them to come to terms and even manifest in peculiar ways.

While Rana drew upon the blood of her siblings to emulate the requirements of Six Path Sagedom, Rega was stuck with the mutilated limbs of her mother Rakuga, youngest sister Roma, and middle brother Retsu sticking out of her back, constantly yearning for freedom and revenge. This lead her down the darker path of ANBU, and she relentlessly hunted down missing-nin and mercenaries in the hopes of finding those who brought death to her line. Despite only having half the people inside of her, Rega could not figure out how to let her family out of her body, and was more consumed with the malice that she pushed herself to continue to follow.

Rana had managed to make hollow shells of their father and other siblings, and anxiously tried to remove the intrusive bodies from her younger sister. The experiments of the mad doctor, however, were difficult to understand, and there was an unnatural resistance to the attempts. The ANBU girl also became more and more addicted to the power of being a Chimera, leading squads of hunters on brutal missions in war torn regions. It was only a matter of time before she could count those who wronged her in combat.

Little did they both know that the ninja who struck them down were aware of their survival all along, and were eagerly planning on finishing their job out of a professional pride. During a siege on a drug smugglers boat, they ambushed the tentacle monster of ANBU in great numbers. Cannons and auto crossbows flooded the air, and the cacophony of combat rang so loudly that the usually scared stiff port authorities couldn’t help but check to make sure they weren’t being invaded by another country.

When the dust settled, there was no kunoichi to be found, although the crossfire had wiped out several dozen low ranking thugs and enforcers. Those better versed in combat with ninjas were not amused to find a pile of sand where their foe once stood, and knew that somehow the cunning creature was able to escape. Sirens rang out as the local law was forced to try and contain the situation, but by the time they were finally silenced, there was nothing left alive on the ship.

Stretching out in maddening, unnatural arcs, Rega’s extra limbs had come to life without her will, and tore human beings to shreds with clawed fingertips and comically sized construction equipment. The teenager didn’t fail to participate as well, using her terrible strength to pulverize the criminals to blood pudding. The sisters had mastered ninjutsu like none in their clan had ever dreamed, were welcomed members of the upper echelon of their respected professions. This was the day Rega had dreamed of as she pushed her mangled and ruined body into greatness, and victory came all too quickly. Even when the last enemy had fallen, she hadn’t realized it until her family stopped moving, and became dead weight on her back.

Amidst all the corpses, she only took a second to draw in the scene before fleeing. There were dreams, once, of what she would say and how she would revisit the experience tenfold upon the shinobi, but there wasn’t any room for such a vendetta in her job. There was a mission, a return, a debriefing and then another briefing and a mission. Day in and day out, without room for change or doubt forever. In her mind, this was how she had to operate in order to not descend into madness with the voices and impulses of four people in one body, but her opinion on the matter was keenly disputed this time.

Every one of her tendrils, of which there were an alarming sixteen, would not come back to life. This made up more than the mass of the kunoichi, and made escaping the Kelamura harbor quite tedious. Even afterward, no medical jutsu or chakra empowerment would return life to the appendages, and what was even worse, there was no clutter of voices either. The change was difficult to perceive at first, Rega being focused on the damage to her body, but as she struggled to think of what was going on, she realized that she was alone.

Huddled up in a screaming ball in the forest for over a day, her sister eventually found her after the results of the mission made it back to Kumogakure before her. Shivering and exhausted, the younger sister drew upon the last reserves of her vitality to embrace the comforting figure, but was quickly pulled back to the dirt by the unresponsive limbs attached to her back. It only took Rana another glance to piece together the gist of what had transpired, and she quickly hoisted the girl onto her back (which was quite a burden even to the strongest of shinobi) and radioed ahead that they would be returning and need an operation room open.

Removing the pieces of their mother and siblings from Rega proved unchallenging this time, onlookers considering the medical genius of Rana and advancement of the field since they first came the major factors. The elder sister, however, noticed that there was no resistance or attachment like when they were first operated on, the foreign bodies simply lay still and perhaps even exposed themselves somewhat to the removal process. Either way, Rega was finally freed from the bonds of her dead kin, but her heart felt more hollowed than her body in the aftermath.

Although it was an odd request, the Med-Nin allowed the ANBU captain to take the remains without alarming her elder sister, and began to aggressively research her own Sage path for reviving the dead. Although lacking the number of kin that her big sister had inside her, Rega delved into the deeper connection she had between this life and the next, having kept the bond direct her entire life. Like night and day, the more she discovered, the more taboo the secrets she learned about the border between this world and the next, all the while pursuing the pulse of her mother’s soul. It was like chasing prey through a pitch black room, impossible for any normal human but a common work condition for a shinobi.

Finally ready to take her research to the next level, Rega returned to work. Although her strength and inhuman abilities were far lessened, she was still a lethal and dedicated captain of the ANBU, and her mission record was not deterred by the handicap she’d been given. Rather, she rededicated herself to the dangerous hunting of rogue ninja, the further away from the safety of home the better! For without the ever present eyes of her peers behind her, she was free to take the chakra-lingering corpses of her targets and do with them as she willed. There was no end to the number of subjects, and every completion brought her another step closer to her goal.

Within a few weeks, she had mastered the ability to reanimate a lifeless shell, but it took her months to understand the calling back of a soul, complete with memories and skills. In the end, it seemed to take a piece of her own vitality to do so, but this was nothing more than the externalization of the process that made her the monster she was only so long ago. Calling back her siblings and mother, she was able to reunite the family once again, although her summoning was somewhat flawed in that she could only fully restore one target at a time. Still, it came with the added benefit of strengthening her target with her own essence, and allowed her to gain a powerful companion in the midst of combat, with drastically different powers and experiences to draw upon.

As a final blessing, her knowledge of chakra and anatomy gained from her experiments allowed her to infuse her targets with altered life energies. While it could be used to create cursed seals and enhance the body at the cost of its vitality, the greater power for the ANBU kunoichi was the ability to cripple targets with a venomous miasma, capable of a multitude of terrible feats. Grateful to her field of study for showing her the powers of life and death, her unique specialization of miasma would continue on for some time to come…[/spoilername]

Abilities - Discarding Concentrated Focus :: Bondage was a rather useful talent to the discrete world of the shinobi. Rega herself had found the ability to bind and incapacitate was far preferred to other methods of eliminating a threat, but after the loss of her chimera abilities and the tentacles that came with it, her focus shifted to something more primal and defensive. No longer could "the ties that bind" be a reference to her numerous fleshy appendages wrapping up her victims before coming up with longer term solutions, there had to be a new solution that made the best out of her makeshift sagely skills. The time of the ANBU tentacle monster was behind her.

Abilities - Gaining Stalker :: As an ANBU, living in the shadows is a vital part of the job. Rega was always good at slinking about, but in the course of practicing the forbidden arts of the dark sage, she became that much more dependent on hiding in plain sight and manipulating her surroundings and cover even when no shadows seemed to be cast. To the contrary, it is when the enemy perceives that there is nothing to hide behind, and that their safety is assured, that the young woman found the greatest power to claim domination. When one cannot touch the unseen, they cannot defend nor can they effectively attack, and there is always some level of darkness, even on the plains on a sunny day!

Abilities - Gaining Elemental Aura :: While wallowing in the darkness after the loss of her "family" living inside her body, Rega grew to not just hide in the shadows, but manipulate them as well. Truly, as a dark sage, there are fewer signs of mastery as prominent as being able to channel the myriad of elements prominent in the blackness of the unknown. Practiced in combat with forest creatures and her own reanimation targets, the ability to generate a miasma of uncomfortable darkness allowed her to always guarantee her targets felt the full power of the sage's path, and she honed this talent to the sharpest possible edge.

Abilities - Gaining Taijutsu 101 :: While most ninja in her group preferred the use of senbon and ninja stars, Rega grew up with an abnormal level of strength and less of a problem with scale. Her father had taught his children the numerous disciplines involved with carpentry and fabrication, so their weapons after the tragedy were mostly makeshift construction equipment. This naturally lead to some more interesting merging between the world of projectiles and ranged weapons, as the rivets and saw blades were quite capable of doubling for taijutsu intended for larger objects. Even with the loss of her extra limbs as an adult, her raw demonic-enhanced strength kept her more than capable of merging both schools of combat into a single deadly, yet practical, art.

Abilities - Gaining ANBU Sentinel :: Practicing under the tutelage of Daki and working with other ANBU such as Santaru Rin and Akira Saito, three very important lessons were drilled into the head of the middle child of the Gateru family. First, never ever let down your defenses. Second, running out of supplies in a fight is not a valid excuse for defeat. Third, show up on time for gate duty or prepare to be disciplined. Somewhere after the first dozen times being strung upside down from the outpost by her ankles, she learned to overcome her late riser mentality and truly embrace the discipline required to ascend the ranks of the elite defenders of Kumogakure.

Word Count :: 110

Abilities - Gaining Jutsu Expansion :: Where other ninja prefer to leave mastery alone at practiced devotion to traditions well established, the peculiar arts of the forbidden sage beg for one to experiment and empower their skills with every possible combination of chakra and technique for more power and domination. Such was the case with the Black Aces captain during her attempt at remaking herself as a ninjutsu-focused kunoichi instead of relying on the strength of her family bonds. No fireball was sufficiently large, no rending of the earth brought near the strength of her frustrations to bare upon her targets! More and more, she let her chakra seep further into these abilities, and devised more complicated seals to evoke the wellspring of power she possessed. While rarely efficient with her reserves, the results were certainly never boring.

Abilities - Gaining Jutsu Creator :: Still, it wasn't enough to be satisfied with BIGGER explosions and HOTTER bolts of lightning, the shinobi magics were the art of manipulating the world around you and making it your plaything! Rega's imagination was not sated by the normal jutsu of her peers, and as she became stronger and stronger, her ambitions became more insatiable as well. Eventually, she came to harness a Kage-like speed with her handseals, and with the repetition and experience one can only come to achieve as a veteran warrior, she found herself naturally blending seals together and manipulating her chakra as needed for more rapid assaults. It wasn't even close to the end of her ambitions, but as even advanced elements began molding with each other by her whims, she could at least claim some level of victory.

Word Count :: 133

Abilities - Gaining Sixth Sense :: Anybody who kept to working with stealthy murder-police for any prolonged period of time could tell you that respect and a nose for danger is essential to continued survival. Getting further into the ranks of those killers and usurpers requires an outright Sixth Sense for danger, even if without the embedded emotions and memories of your kin eliminate a gap to a method of existence rarely fathomed by most. To this end, Rega had a keen edge upon her competition, as the makeup of her patchwork body was perfectly suited to having eyes where none were visible. The refinement of this sense came as naturally as breathing to most, and while many struggled to really understand the lines of danger that floated about them, ready to be noticed... She was able to unlock something darker, thanks to the taint in her very blood.

Word Count :: 143

Abilities - Gaining Projectile Style :: Due to the loss of her super strength and extra limbs, Rega had to quickly adapt to more conventional tactics with lighter weapons, or risk being constantly winded. Even still, her superior combat training and top tier ninja power allowed her to continue to use the rivet gun and saw blades as projectiles without much of a detriment. Now mixing up her projectile and ranged taijutsu into one fluid style that emphasizes defense and agility over brute strength, she has managed to perfect her stealth combat method into something that strikes terror into her enemies, even when nothing seems to be around.

Abilities - Gaining Earth Style :: Kumogakure is the village of the heavens, and its guardians are almost universally known for their use of lightning and storms. Some, however, have found their energies more attuned to the wonderful nature and topography of the mountains and valleys. Such is the case with the Gateru sibling managing the Black Aces troop of the ANBU. From atop the peaks, the draw of resonance which comes from her skills were made to linger, and in the depths, the light of day is unable to strip away the veil of stealth drawn from the terrain. Even the skies above can be manipulated with the pull of the earth below, and such is the focus of her style of combat.

Word Count :: 118

Abilities - Gaining Duelist :: In the world of ninja, there is rarely a pack mentality. Stealth is best done solo, assassinations are preferred to mass murder, and nothing should come between predator and prey. For ANBU, this is even more vital, as they hunt down their fellow shinobi in one on one encounters rather commonly. To combat this problem, one of the most visited solutions is to gain a focus for your target above all else, and the Hammerfae is no exception. Even if her own life is to be extinguished by dozens of bodyguards, even if lesser shinobi flank her while diving at their leader, there is nothing more important than eliminating a target. Not even one's own life.

Word Count :: 115

Abilities - Gaining Summoner :: As something of a side effect to pursuing the path of a Dark Sage, and a side effect of interacting with multiple kin inside her very own body, Rega became very proficient in handling multiple manifestations of her chakra. From corpses to constructs, breathing life was as simple as manipulating the bonds of her mother and siblings into her targets. This hand up on the ability allowed her to "look two ways at the same time", abusing her link to the incorporeal lingerings of her family to empower multiple creations at the same time without taxing her concentration too drastically.

Abilities - Replacing Jutsu Creator (Free) with Quickdraw :: While in the past, Rega had the help of many tendrils to simultaneously wield her insane barrage of construction tools, the separation and reabsorption of her family left her at an extreme deficit when it came to wielding her weapons. They were now largely too heavy to wield consecutively in combat, and even more awkward to store upon her tiny back. Beyond her gloves, her smaller hammer, and her wrist nail guns, she could hardly multi-task with the weapons at all. This all changed when she started to master her definitive element. The lands of Kumogakure had always been special to her, but manipulating the earth beneath her and infusing her chakra with the air around her allowed her to twist and summon forth invisible forces for attack. Gravity itself was her plaything, and her mind guided objects to her will. So too was it with drawing her weapons, once her mind grasped the concept. Aided by her family’s will and her chakra coil, all of her tools were in her grasp at all times, she need only will it shown.
