Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

By now, Haruka knew every small detail of the hospital. Staff members no doubt thought she lived her, since the doctor clocked overtime like a machine. Even if she wasn't going from room to room on rounds, the coal haired kunoichi could be found tucked away in the offices studying over some material or reviewing a patient care profile. She hadn't much interest other than this. Nothing had caught her eye. No other subject other than medic made her feel as knowledgeable or as powerful. Her family never cultured in her love in anything more than this. She made them all proud with how well she was doing in her career, but she wasn't satisfied until she held the position of chief.

There were many things the Shima woman knew about the various fields that wove together, but she just wasn't a specialist in any. And, even though she was prideful, she wasn't stupid so as to not ask for help. There were just some things that could be learn with much more ease with the help of another. She decided to ask a superior of her's. One who had been in the confines of this establishment for as long as she remembered. Even though Haruka knew so little of the woman, the mednin knew that her years made her much wiser than most of the newer doctors. Shinrya Kitsune, the Doctor, agreed much to Haruka's relief. One couldn't really pin her as shy, but Haruka often hated to ask a favor of anyone and put them in the imposition of obliging. However, Kitsune seemed more than happy to help her.

Haruka agreed to meet her in her office after hours. So, still dressed in her uniform, hurried in that steady and noble pace to the room that she had passed many times over the years. Knocking light, Haruka stepped inside and bowed. The flower pin in her hair jingled slightly as the strands of beads hanging from it rustled. "Thank you so much for agreeing to help me, Shinrya-San." She smiled politely at the young woman.

As always, Kitsune had been sitting in her office most of the day, meaning that on the table behind her desk there was a mountain of food to sate her inhuman appetite. On the desk was a huge pile of papers in one corner, a few quills in an artisticly fashioned quill holder, and a violin case right in front of her. In Kitsune’s hands were a classic violin, a Stradivarius no less, and she was playing on it. The tune was a familiar, yet slightly alien song that Kitsune had learned a few years back from a man in a suit. Odd thing about him was probably his strange pointy haircut and trenchcoat. She had learnt it by heart so that she didn’t need the notes for it.

Then, when Haruka knocked on the door, Kitsune didn’t stop playing, she merely said ”Enter!” in a loud voice and played the song out before putting the instrument back into its case. ”Welcome Shima-chan.” she said and smiled at her colleague while gesturing for her to sit down. Then, when Haruka thanked her for agreeing to help, she merely shook her head a bit and said ”It’s the least I could do, we’re colleagues after all. Besides, how could I turn down an earnest request for knowledge?”

Kitsune turned around and grabbed a plate of food, and offered it to Haruka ”You look like you could use a bite to eat.” she said with a grin. Kitsune had a habit of offering people food, because her body demanded sustenance nearly all the time. ”So. What’re you interested in learning? Psychology? Anatomy? Anything in particular you’d really like to know more about?” she asked and looked at the young mednin sitting across the desk from herself.

Haruka smiled widely at the nickname she was so tenderly deemed by the superior doctor. She wasn't opposed to nicknames when given them, it was only who used them. Certainly, Shinrya-San was well respected to use such a name. Haruka looked up to her after all. She took a seat, sitting up straight. As prim and proper as any noble, no matter where the Shima daughter was, she would act like a lady of class. She was glad to see Kitsune so eager to help out the younger mednin. It eased the unsettling feeling she often got when asking another to help her out. After all, Haruka was raised from the start of her career without much help. Her father invited her to learn what she could through her own devices. She had spent years in their library pouring over the manuscripts left behind from ancestors long dead. The woman had learned to be solo in her hunt for understanding. She grew fiercely independent. Her father had planned it from the start to be this way. He was always a kind man though, helping her with the things she studied in frustrations. Making sure she always understood, yet letting her blossom on her own.

Haruka politely took some food from the woman. Not only was it rude to refuse a guest offer, but she was starving after a full day of work. "Thank you." She sheepishly said before listening on for Shinrya's questions. She contemplated for a moment exactly what she wanted out of their session. Psychology she passed over, feeling it wasn't exactly in the line of work she liked to do. But, anatomy struck her. It set a feeling of love in her even. That was the beginning of her learnings. The first book she picked up was one on anatomy. Ever since exploring the microscopic world within the human body, Haruka was dying to know more and more. The Shima blood within her had awaken to the experience and wisdom she gained about the medical field. There had been no stopping her since then.

She supposed that learning more about the basics was always a wiser choice. A solid foundation was important if she wanted to build a tower to the sky. It would be interesting to share their knowledge back and forth. She wanted to get Shinrya-San's input on the vast topic. Maybe she'd find some new insight that she had missed in her younger years. "Actually, anatomy sounds great." She smiled yet again. "There is so much to learn on one topic. Where do we even start?" A little laugh sung in her voice as she posed the question.

Kitsune clapped her hands together. So anatomy was the choice that Haruka-chan had made for herself. ”Anatomy, eh? Interesting!” Kitsune proclaimed and stood up. ”Shall we take the boring, text-book way of studying, or should we try and identify bones on a skeleton?” she asked and stretched so audible cracks were heard coming from her spine. Kitsune didn’t really mind either option, and went over to the bookcase and picked out a few books. Some of which Haruka undoubtedly knew, like the classics “Anatomy and You”, ”101 Ways To Identify A Bone”, ”Handbook of Anatomy – For Students of Massage”, ”Gray’s Anatomy”, ”Inside and Out – by Isaki Kushin” and finally, a book she had written herself ”Anatonomicon”

She placed them in a stack on the desk right in front of Haruka. ”My little collection of first edition anatomy books.” she said proudly. ”One of which contain my own notes and musings. Because it’s a bit more than a first edition copy. It’s the actual final draft of the book.” she added and winked at Haruka before gesturing to the Anatonomicon. ”Easy to obtain. Considering I wrote it. It even has an interesting section about binary vascular systems. I’ve only ever seen one such system in my life.”

After finishing that sentence, she looked at Haruka to gauge her reaction to the information she had just been given. Hopefully she’d ask questions about the book Kitsune had written. After all it was the one Kitsune was most qualified to answer questions about. Buuuuuut it didn’t mean that she couldn’t answer questions about the rest. ”The biggest question is. How skilled do you consider yourself in the field of anatomy?” she asked ”Perhaps that’s where we should start… Gauging your skill level. And then improving it from there. What do you think Shima-chan?”
