Undersea, Out of the Way Fishing Corner
Aion stood on the shores of the Fisherman's Grotto and stared across the dark waters with a small smile. The Undersea was a marvel. He had certainly never seen anything like it in the Land of Fire, and to think, it was underground! Despite having grown up amid theoretically fertile plains he had to admit. The soft whisper of water amid cavernous gloom had its own kind of dark beauty. He cast a thoughtful glance across the water. A lone fishing boat sat on the water, perched like a bird of prey. Its single lantern bobbed back and forth. It was early, even earlier than the fishermen usually started. But that was intentional. He had wanted somewhere soothing to train. At least for what he had in mind. He imagined there would come a day when he would need privacy, and a more secure location no doubt. But for today, today the hint of interruption was just what the doctor ordered.
He drew his coat closer around him and took a step onto the surface of the water. Another reason he began so early was to avoid disturbing the fishermen's fishing. He knew too well the frustration of hard work meddled with. He took careful measured steps. Shinobi learned the surface walking techniques early on. They were invaluable tools. They were also a lot of fun living underground. Today however, they would become another tool in his training. He stopped ten feet out. He needed depth, the immediate incentive was to avoid taking a dip into cold waters. But he still needed to be able to get to shore quickly, even if he was exhausted.
With a quick wave to the boat he dropped to his haunches and pressed a hand to the water. He allowed it to lick his palm before he channeled chakra into it and began to repel it. He, like most shinobi learned the full body technique, it just wasn't ideally used. You never want to be on the ground after all, or the water in this instance. This time however the extra concentration would be his boon. He spent several moments focusing on the slight stress before dropping into a lotus position and forming a ram seal. He didn't have a particular jutsu in mind. It just helped him focus.
After a moment to settle he began a basic exercise. Circulating his chakra. From the moment he stepped into the Academy and listened to the lecture on the shinobi arts he knew which called to him. He also knew it was rigorous and difficult and he would have to train hard if he wanted to make it. But he would. He had asked his teacher for meditation techniques before he graduated, and until he learned otherwise he would continue to use them to improve.
Inhale...seven counts,
Hold,
Exhale, seven counts,
Hold
Yes, this would do for now, a nice peaceful afternoon of meditation, one more step to his goal.
Inhale..
