Continued from The North Eastern Tryst.
It had been days, but throughout everything Jin'ichi remained unconscious. The caravan made several stops, but in no place they felt comfortable leaving a man in such critical condition. Wind Country wasn't the most hospitable place, and kindness was rarely returned outside of Sunagakure. Not a word left the estranged Takahashi's lips, nor did he wake to eat or even urinate much less defecate. It was as though he'd died, but the rise and fall of his chest coupled with the gentle warmth that left his nostrils showed life. It was funny, that he now had spent almost as much time among these people as he did with his cousin back in the village. Definitely reaching greener pastures, he was a long way from home and even further away from completing the mission he'd given himself. He was headed in the complete opposite direction of his father's last known location, but he'd have no one to blame but himself when he woke. It was his own fault that he ended up in such terrible condition in the first place. The consequences one endured when not thinking things through entirely, or letting frustration and emotion spur them forward. Though he slept, the lesson was being learned even in his dreams... If you could call those vivid contemplative scenes of this particular man such a thing.
