Amy is not your typical teenage girl as she isn't girly in the least bit, she enjoys working with her father and uncles, and training with her numerous cousins - all boys. More often than not she has some sort of an attitude, she isn't the sort you would want to offend as she is never afraid to defend herself in any way she can, and this little girl can really pack a punch. Just be sure you never tell her she hits like a girl. Even with her fiery demeanor, she can be kind and respectful as well, as long as people are kind and respectful toward her.
History
In the village of Sunagakure there are a handful of clans that control the Merchant Districts, the Suchiru family is one of these such clans. This family can trace its ancestry back to the First Men, and will never hide this fact as it is a topic of much pride for the Suchirus.
The Suchirus control a majority of the weapon and armor trade within Suna, including renting the workshops and forges to other smiths, as well as renting shops to the merchants that wish to sell any type of weapons and armor. Naturally, having control of the facilities Suna offers, the Suchiru clan has produced some of the most celebrated blacksmiths in the village. Amy's uncles are all master blacksmiths, and all of her cousins are apprentices beneath their fathers. However, Amy's father, having been the eldest of the 5 brothers that were born from the last clan leader, has inherited his father's responsibilities and title.
As clan tradition stands, the eldest son of the leader must apprentice under his father to become a master blacksmith first, as well as learning the ropes of managing the aspect of the merchant district. The clan leader holds the secrets of the clan's blacksmiths, which no other person may learn - that includes any other family members, even the younger sons of the leader are not entitled to learn these treasured skills. Any other sons of the clan are taught by their uncles alongside their cousins.
Suchiru Kitaeru, Amy's father, learned the trade from his father, beginning his apprenticeship at the age of 10. An exceptionally fast learner, he earned his Mastery at the age of 20 and continued to learn the necessary skills to assist his father in the management of the smith trade in Suna. At the age of 30, Kitaeru's father passed away and left his legacy to his son. Kitaeru went on to become the most successful and respected leader the Suchiru clan had ever known. Soon after his father's passing, he met the woman that would soon become his wife, Murasaki. They married when Kitaeru was 40 and two years after they welcomed their first born into the world, a daughter, who like her mother, was kissed by fire. This quality - red hair - is considered lucky in the world of smiths. However, Amy's mother passed away soon after giving birth due to complications from the lengthy labor. The child that would have been the saving grace of the loss of his wife, however, also died shortly after birth.
Kitaeru was heartbroken and on the verge of slipping into a deep depression, however, he knew his late wife would never have wanted him to give up, so he continued to live as best he could until one day, when he was delivering a weapon to a guard at the gates to Suna, he spotted a young woman that looked strikingly like his late wife out in the desert trying to reach the Maw. Instincts quickly kicked in and he went out to help her. The woman turned out to have a newborn daughter that looked much like the daughter he had lost, so he helped the pair, but the woman had suffered too much damage from the Maelstrom and she was unable to make it. She left him with a story and a daughter to nurture and care for and thus Kitaeru found a new lease on life.
Kitaeru never told his daughter of her true story, but raised her as his own, so Amy grew up in a very loving and large family, and had inherited the fire that Kitaeru's wife had, as well as looking very similar to her, as well as her biological mother. Being a very strong-willed girl, when she reached the age of 6, she went to her father and asked him to begin teaching her their clan's trade. Unwilling to begrudge anything to his daughter, she began her apprenticeship and soon showed the same promise as her father had, and learned faster than even he had. She soon surpassed many of her male cousins, gaining her Mastery in both smithing as well as the management of the clan at the age of 12.
Upon gaining her Mastery, she decided she would also like to learn to use the items she had spent 6 years of her life learning, and asked her father to let her train to use a sword. Naturally, he could not refuse her, and thus sought out a swordsman for her to train with, Uzumoreru Toushin. After working with her father in the main clan shop and training with her sword for a year, she decided she desired to expand her horizons to the world of shinobi, and expressed her desires to her father, who, again, unwilling to begrudge Amy anything she desired, enrolled her in the Suna Academy
One short year after joining the Academy, the young shinobi showed such promise that her father deemed it time to enlighten his daughter to the truth of her heritage and revealed that she was part of a different clan, the Nanjirou, and he told her the story her mother had left with him.
Amy's mother was born in the Snow Country, but by her time that branch of the Nanjirou was dying and the clan had become weak. One evening their small village was raided by bandits from the Wind Country and the entire clan was taken for slaves. However, before Amy's mother could be taken, her husband bought her enough time to hide her heirloom sword for their unborn child in hopes that someday she would be able to recover it. After living as slaves for a time, and once Amy had been born, her mother got the chance to escape. She just needed to make it through the Maelstrom and her daughter would be safe and able to grow up without the fear of slavery.

Suchiru Arms
Nestled between a fairly large book store and a small restaurant was the new premises of Suchiru Arms. Having been extensively remodeled and updated, the much larger shop was much more welcoming to any Sunan looking to purchase some of the best weapons yen could buy. Coming up to the store front, one would see a sandwich board reading:
SUCHIRU ARMS
Grand Re-Opening!
This was placed in front of a large display window where all sorts of weapons were shown, from simple kunai to the most extravagant claymore. The outer walls were a warm and welcoming golden tone that blended well with the sand surroundings, but the frames of the glass door and window were black-enameled steel, fashioned by the shop-keeper herself.
A light tinkling sound would be heard should one choose to venture inside as the door brushed against a string of small bells hung from the door hinge. The front room was just as warm feeling with its crimson walls and dark wooden floors. The counter in the center of the back wall was made of wood to match the flooring, but the counter tops were made of a warm tan stone and polished to a rich sheen. In the right hand corner of the room was a comfortable, but modernly designed couch and arm chair set along with a wooden coffee table - complete with a few portfolio folders with sketches of weapons the shopkeeper had designed - for potential patrons to wait on should the shopkeeper be busy in the back room, and in the other corner was a wooden table and four chairs that were set aside for consultations. On the red walls hung various intricate weapons, seemingly made purposely for decoration, but their edges all looked just as dangerous as anything the young Suchiru would sell. These displays, naturally, were housed within frames with thick glass in front of them so that no danger would be posed to any children that might wander into the shop.
To each side of the front counter were two thick wooden doors, the one on the right held an enameled sign reading:
-Staff Only-
If one were to venture through this door, they would enter a room about half the width of the reception area but twice as long, floors, walls and ceiling covered with stone pavers whose true color was hidden by a few fresh layers of soot. In the center of the back wall was a large stone forge with a metal knob on the side used to turn on the large chakra crystal housed within it for smelting and heating. Then, against the left wall of this room was a metal grinder and polishing kit with a small wooden stool placed beside them. In the center of the room was a medium sized wooden barrel filled with water and a large anvil with a well-made and well-used hammer laying across it – the young blacksmith liked to keep certain things in certain places so she could find her things...well, usually. Against the wall next to the door was a desk with a tall hutch atop it filled with cubbyholes of all sizes which were all stuffed with papers and metal samples...it didn't seem like there was much organization here. The surface of the desk wasn't much different, with papers and all sorts of things strewn across it, it was a wonder the girl could ever find anything.
Back in the front room, the door to the left of the front counter held a sign to match the other, though this one read:
*Training Yard*
-Please-
Feel Free to Test any Weapon
*Children Under 10 Must be Accompanied by an Adult*
*Genin Allowed*
This door led into a courtyard about the size of the workshop with a couple of well-made, rubber training dummies available to patrons of Suchiru Arms as a means to test out their new weapons, and also to test out the many blunted training weapons that had been carefully crafted in several shapes, sizes and weights so that one could better choose what would be best to order. These blunted weapons were carefully placed on a large weapon rack against the wall beside the door, each engraved with their weights and the type of metal that was used.
