Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Learning the Following Core Ability Move for Opportunist
Sneak Attack - Passive (3 Points)
Restriction: C Rank and up
Many honor-bound fighters will make sure that their opponent is ready and aware before beginning a fight. Not so with the Opportunist. A turned back is an open target for them, a chance they don’t dare pass up.
Effect: All the user's attacks have a 10% chance of being a Sneak Attack. All Sneak attacks gain +1 Critical and deal x2.5 damage upon a Critical hit; this does not stack with other critical damage modifiers.

Shadow Step - Passive (2 Points)
Embracing the shadows, opportunists are adept in the art of covert fighting. They remain hidden from their victims until the moment they strike and even then leave their victims wondering where the attacker came from...and where they went.
Effect: The user has a 30% chance at remaining in Stealth after performing a Sneak Attack. Once per round, the user may make a Sneak Attack without being dropped out of Stealth; this may only be done three times per battle.

Counterattack - Passive (3 Points)
Restriction: B Rank and up
Whenever an enemy misses a swing of the sword or a thrust of the fist, they overextend slightly and leave an opening. In this opening is the chance to strike back and change the course of battle.
Effect: Whenever the opponent misses a melee attack on the user (melee taijutsu included; they may only counter once per jutsu), the user may counterattack for their their current equipped weapon dealing Basic Strike Damage at no cost. This has no limit.

Enhanced Counter - Modification (2 Points)
Restriction: C Rank and up, requires Deflection
While many skilled ninja can deflect attacks, only an Opportunist sees the opening that an enemy leaves and can take advantage of it. A ninja with this skill can catch and throw back projectiles at a surprising speed.
Effect: The Deflection ability now applies to Jutsu up to level 6, gains an additional +5% chance of activating, and no longer has an Accuracy penalty when using the special action. Â Additionally, If the special action is used upon an attack using Ranged accuracy successfully, the user is able to deflect it towards a different target at -3 Accuracy and 70% damage.

Sniper - Modification (2 Points)
Restriction: Requires Called Shot
When attacking an enemy by surprise, they cannot react, cannot cover there weaknesses. In that moment, it is extremely easy to hit vital areas. Taking advantage of this, an Opportunist can hit any chosen area with surprising ease.
Effect: When making called shots while in Stealth mode, The user suffers no accuracy penalty.

Crippling Strike - Dependent Special Move (3 Points)
Don't turn your back on an Opportunist. They'll only take advantage of it and hit you hard. Very hard. They don't care about fighting fair, and this technique is one of their most surprising to be caught in.
Effect: While in Stealth, the user may allow a Taijutsu to bypass Damage Reduction and Barriers. If performed against a clone, this has a 60% chance at dispelling the clone. This may only be done once per round.

Feint - Dependent Special Move (2 Points)
Sometimes a fast attack isn't always the best attack. An Opportunist can prime themselves to strike at exactly the right moment for maximum effect.
Effect: The user may add a stealth check to one of their melee attacks; if successful, it is treated as a Sneak Attack, otherwise it is used normally. This may only be done once per round successfully.

Quick Step - Boost (3 Points)
Opportunists have mastered the art of precision attacking, knowing just when and how to catch the opponent off-guard with their attacks. It is very difficult into tricking one with your movements, masters as they are in the art of it already.
Effect: +3 Accuracy

    • [spoilername="Role Play"]Deep within the slums, in a dark alleyway stood a man draped in tattered clothes, arms outward with a knife on hand and in front of him was Kou who was oddly well-dressed despite the place, smirking. "Give me all you've got!" The dirty old man shouted waving his knife in front of his face. "Give it to me before I stab your pretty little face!" He added, darting his knife towards his face in a playful manner. Kou kept a straight face, watching the dirty hobo play with his toy. In a moment's notice, Kou quickly drew out his Silver Tongue, a glimmering short dagger and in a blink of an eye, the old man's knife fell into the ground, clinging as it bounced around shortly before coming to a stop, blood soon followed and covered the knife.

"You should do it, not say it." Kou said as he drew out his blade from the old man's hand, leaving a nasty open wound the size of a bullet hole, one could practically see the man's bone cracked from the thrust. A quick grin and the old man started screaming as he held wounded hand, trying to stop the blood from coming out. Poor thing really. Kou took out a handkerchief before wiping the blood from his blade and hiding it back in his cloak. He tapped the old man's forehead as his presence has now disappeared, seemingly forgetting the guy who he tried to mug and was now concentrated in his bleeding and broken hand. "You should go see a doctor, or try to stab one, they might help you. No promises." Kou added as he turned his back to the old man and walked away, the sound of a man's yelps and screaming echoed through his ears like music.[/spoilername]

    • [spoilername="Role Play"]Oh what has he caught himself now. Kou found himself yet again in a some kind of drunken brawl, except he wasn't really drunk - much. Last thing he remembered was entering the bar and boom, the lights went out and waking up with the sound of fists flying and hitting someone's face, or so he thought if only it wasn't for that slight pain in his left cheek. As he stood up, men of various shape and sizes were dancing around the tight space, grabbing everything they could from stools to someone's head and using it to hit someone else. He never did get much thought but the sight did gave him some ideas. Such chaos and disorder in one small building. The moment he took his first step forward and towards the door, a shadowy figure resembling a fist was approaching fast and the next thing he did was to simply step back and arc his body backward. Not sure if it was luck or instinct but whatever was connected to that fist came tumbling down the floor before disappearing yet again in the crowd.

But the action didn't stopped there and he was getting bored, he wanted out of the chaos. He could see the door just pass the rolling bodies of men going back and forth nonstop. He jumped on the table, shaking the drinks off it as he looked for a good way to get out, yet he couldn't find one, either these people are brawling too fast or the table was really shaking. A loud cracking sound came beneath him. The latter one was correct and Kou found himself in mid-air with a set of glass shards heading his way. Now he was beginning to doubt if this was an actually a brawl or somebody set him up to be killed, not like they could though. Twisting his body to lower his upper limbs on the floor, he quickly grabbed the top of the table before it could even touch the ground and using it as a shield from the incoming shards. Luckily, it was simply nothing but glass shards and it shattered the moment is struck the wooden top.

Slightly annoyed at this point, he quickly flung the wooden table top towards the brawlers with such force that it struck a couple of men cold. Hopefully not dead. His actions were left unnoticed which is sort of good for him. He looked around once more and found a small window, partially cracked. "Plan B it is then." He scratched his head as he charged towards the window, crossing his arms above his head as he dived out of the window before twisting his body and landing safely on the ground, moments before shards of tiny glass followed. Quickly dusting himself before walking away, not even a thought of looking back.[/spoilername]

    • [spoilername="Role Play"]He could still remember everything that was thought to him by his uncle and shewed mentor, he did have to give it to him for showing him something, even though it was sort of silly looking back at it. The skies were blue, the sun brightly shining, the occasional shout of help that you would hear every now and then knowing the place was running were killers and drunkards. In front of him was his uncle who held a low-quality constructed wooden dagger and his funny little fighting stance that would definitely send him tripping if a strong wind were to blow in. In his hands was also a low-quality constructed wooden dagger with the top where the blade should be found, is missing. He wasn't sure if it was a trick or a handicap for his uncle but he wasn't going to lose their duel. His uncle taunted him to strike first matched with a stupid smug in his face.

He could only sigh from the obvious mismatch of the fight but he wouldn't let that beat him, he knew he had a lot of advantages presented for him. For instance, his uncle was tall and slightly big and he was small and agile. He firmly held the grip of his broken wooden dagger and charged forward towards his uncle. His eyes meeting his gaze. In his sight, he found his uncle in a state of shock as he approached him with alarming speed. Maybe because it was sheer speed that caused his uncle to freeze? Maybe, but he wouldn't like to find that in the middle of the fight. As he was inches closer to his uncle, his eyes watched his uncle's arm as he swung towards him. Quickly stepping back, he managed to dodge the incoming attack from his uncle and leaving a dust cloud around his uncle as a gift. Puzzled as he was sure he was frozen from that shock, his uncle probably relied on his instinct. Given his sole weapon was a broken wood - not much of a dagger, he literally had to close in but he had other plans.

His uncle gave a hearty laugh as he taunted him once more. He didn't blinked and charged straight towards him again. His uncle continued laughing, anticipating his attacks when this time, he found himself in mid-air. Puzzled once more, his uncle looked down and found Kou's small legs making contact with his. Kou gave a smile, wondering how he was able to approach him at that distance in mere seconds. Vanishing from his sight and striking quickly. Kou didn't left any time for him to react, he quickly flung his broken wood towards his uncle's wrist, hitting and simultaneously causing him to drop his much better wooden dagger. His body moving fluidly, he jumped to grab the dagger while his uncle dropped and slightly rolled on the ground followed by another trail of dust clouds. "Guess I win." Kou smiled as he appeared right above his stomach, slightly poking the wooden dagger into his uncle's belly.[/spoilername]

    • [spoilername="Role Play"]While he certainly love his dagger, he knew he had to learn other trades in combat. Namely, he recently got himself a set of nice sharp knives. Pointy and slim, just as good as his taste. Now he wasn't the one to stab someone with these ornate knives in point blank range, even if he could - he'd most likely wouldn't. Instead, these knives deserve a much better place than flesh - to prove its worth it has to dig deep down to the bones. Where it deserves to rest and what else is better to test than a low-life scum who would rob the poor. Though it might look like a hypocrite, being a thief himself. He never stole from the poor, only to those who are rich or the forgotten.

In a dark alley, the scum fled for his life. Stopped by a rusty grate that led to the sewers, like a rat cornered but unlike a rat who would fight back, the man cowered in fear. Streaks of silver flew through the air, impaling the man in random parts of his body. Two streaks of silver appeared, impaling the man's hand down to the infested cement. Piercing through his hands would usually result to the sweet sound of bones cracking, but that wasn't the case. His aim was perfect and swift. The way it should be.[/spoilername]
