The incoming bullets landed hard against the boy's chest causing severe pain as he fell backwards, but instead of hitting the ground he could feel himself fall pass where the marble floors should have been. Everything closed in around him as he could see the Medical chief walk towards him, though the view itself was distancing itself. As his field of vision closed in and became black the young Yamanaka could feel the sensation of air pushing beside him. In this blank nothingness the boy was still able to tell the directions distinguishing up from down and left from right. He could feel himself fall faster and faster as the wind below him seemed to hiss louder and louder as it grazed across his ears. The boy needed to see what was below him, attempting to move his weight he was able to flip to face downwards as the air pressure pushed against his face and wounded body. The hissing grew louder as the darkness slowly began to fade into light. He was starting to be able to see once again.
Anger, it was the first thing that came to mind as he would be able to see what was surrounding him once again. The walls of the hole he was falling through were a deep crimson. A shade of red so dark it made the boy’s skin crawl. Trying to once again orient himself the boy was trying to see any distinguishing features but the redness seemed to be infinite as that’s all he could see, but slowly by slowly the hissing that scraped his ears would start to become more distinguishable. Soft at first but the boy could hear the sound of a young girl screaming. Shocked the boy would try to hone in on the screams but all he could tell was that it was coming from below. The screams sounded familiar yet foreign all at the same time. His heart began to flutter as he began to fear what was happening, until the walls circling around his faded.
He was now falling in a large cavern which looked to be made of stone. Small lights seemed to be stringed across the rocky walls which emitted a soft white haze to this otherwise red void. Below him he could see what appeared to be a tiled floor approach at a quick rate. Black and white alternating spaces the boy could see the drastic contrast while at the same time appreciating the balance of the two polar opposites. Crossing his arms as the floor closed on him at a quick rate Shin could feel his body slow down rapidly yet gracefully as his toes would softly make contact on the ground. Opening his once closed eyes and peering over his arms the boy began to look around.
“Hello?” Nothing. The room was empty but for some reason he didn’t feel alone.

Dropping his arms to his side the boy stood there. In this red void on top of these tiles he was alone, but he knew that this couldn’t be real. Weaving a few handsigns to cast the jutsu Cancel the boy would try and break free of this illusion but alas the young Yamnaka would not be successful. Raising an eyebrow the boy let out a sigh. Turning to see what was around him he was shocked to see a girl around his age standing before him. Taken a back the boy fell to his rear as she had surprised him much more than he was anticipating.
“oh..” A slip of breath came from between his lips as he hit the ground. The girl laughed before stepping towards him.
“Be careful Shin.”
Getting back to his feet the boy would look confused as he would respond.
“How do you know my name?” She giggled once again before reaching out and pointing at the boy’s chest.
“I am you.” Her laughter deepened as she reached out and grabbed the boy’s collar.
“I am you.” She repeated, this time in a deeper tone of voice and more seriously.
“What do you mean?” Shin didn’t know who she was or how he got here but he knew that he had to get out from here.
“I am you!” The girl let out with a scream as she pulled Shin closer to her with her right hand pushing his chest with her left. The petite hand of this strange girl seemed to pass straight through him but he could still feel the pressure on his chest. Like the sensation of having the wind knocked out of you Shin gasped for air as he was pushed out of his own body. His mind and consciousness was no longer within his own body and he could see that his frame had gone limp. This was a feat that any skilled Yamanaka could perform during their Mind Transference Jutsu but Shin didn’t use that technique. He also knew that a Yamanaka could expel the consciousness of another from their own body with this same jutsu, perhaps this girl was a fellow Yamanaka.
“I AM YOU!” Her voice echoed through the cavern as screamed at the boy. Her hand, which was inside of the boy’s chest, seemed to glow an eerie red that crept up her arm, this was the Name of the Rose jutsu his mother had shown him before. The user of the technique would turn their body into Chakra and could merge completely with their target, perhaps that was what was happening here, but the only issue the boy could think of was that chakra was emitted in a soft blue color and this was a deep red. Her body was completely enveloped by Shin’s and with this merging complete she slowly turned around to look at the boy lying on the ground.
“I am you…”
A single blink, that’s all it took to reappear in the Byakko Estate’s Dojo. He appeared to be standing as he view of the area wasn’t that of someone on the floor, and he didn’t feel any pain from the fight. Looking around he caught a glimpse of his hand and what was going on. A soft chakra blue was the glow being emitted by his almost transparent hand. He still wasn’t in his body, that girl was still inside of him. She was now Shin. Looking around quickly Shin was able to find his body not too far from where he was standing. She was in there as the boy could see the same red aura encasing his body while everyone else in the room had a shadowy aura similar to what he had. Walking towards his own flesh Shin let out a scream before making direct contact with his temple, pushing her out from within his body and flying away from the force of his attack.
“I don’t know who you are but this is my body. You can’t have it.”

Quickly landing on her feet the girl who stood before him was wearing the same clothes as Shin, had the same transparent appearance, but in contrast she emitted an aura of pure hatred and anger. Letting out a blood curdling scream the girl would dart at the boy with chakra scalpels around her hands. The blades were sharp and her control of them was precise. Slashing at his shadowy body this persona of wrath was screaming and speaking incoherently. All he could understand were the words
“I am you” but he didn’t know what she was meaning. Regardless the boy would have to fight back. The boy raised his hands summoning vines from the earth below that wrapped around her body, binding her into that single location before he clapped his hands together in front of his chest causing paper and black ink to envelop her and the vines. The ink quickly formed the scribed ruins that he commonly used with his Doctrine Seal as well as his Pharmaceutical Seal. Letting out a sigh the boy would look over to his knocked out body that was being attended to by a clone of the Medical Chief. Did Kyuji not see the events that transpired? Was this not real? Not knowing the truth the boy would make his way to his body before touching his own head.
Slowly opening his own eyes the boy would see the Medical Assistant using jutsu to help Shin recover from the blows. He was okay, but he was probably going to be out of commission for a few days when it came to physical alterations. His eyes slowly began to focus once again when he heard the Byakko Guard speak of a snake bite and that her vision was going out. Forcing himself to his feet the young boy would stumble back to the ground before speaking.
“Please, I can help you.” Pushing up off of the ground the boy would remain in a seated position as he knew his legs weren’t as reliable as he first thought. Turning his gaze to where he had sealed the savage girl the boy would speak.
“Did you see her? She tried to take me away.” Of course none of this would make sense to the two in the room with him.
What Shin was unaware of was that this battle was all done in his own psyche. The strain caused to his body and mind triggered the upbringing of something that had lain dormant in his soul for years. This darker and primitive shadow that he saw was a part of him since before birth. Little did Shin know that the soul of his deceased sister had latched onto his own when she died in the womb many years ago. Shin’s proficiency in Genjutsu caused his mind to delve deep down into his own psyche where he found her and accidently allowed her soul to be awakened. These next few months would be vital as the boy would soon to come to realize that though they were to be twins they are nothing alike.
