Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Whispery, sly and ruthless, the wispy formations of the dark clouds that Umashi beckoned to his very will and whims began to surround him as he practiced what forms he could. It was a soothing and relaxing thing that he did, that of reaffirming his abilities just in case they might fail him one day. Then too, it served to make sure that he kept a firm grasp on just what it was that he controlled just in case he was every put under a genjutsu. Having mastered both the basic elements of water and fire, Umashi found that the resulting elements in either direction served his purpose and personal style just fine. With the shadows he could creep up on unsuspecting foes and take them out without so much as a second . . . or first warning for that matter. Then too with the vapor element, he could create the perfect environment with which to confuse his foes and keep them guessing. With both together, there was simply no way that he could lose. Using the two separately took skill but together the resulting combination would take as much of a masterful dedication as it took in actually wielding them. Stretching out his hand, he drew the shadows to him, an unnatural occurrence that left the world looking all sorts of strange and alien. In the absence of shadows there was only light and the brightest lights always tended to cast the darkest shadows. Much like how Kami proposed himself a champion of the people and Umashi served as his dark servant of the night. His hidden blade was anything but that and was an accomplished manipulator. Releasing the shadows, back to their places, he began to manipulate them in another way, creating fanciful creatures of the night that crawled up the walls of the room that he sat in. Acting out battles and stories of yesterday in times long past he chuckled to himself as he ended the puppet show by clasping his hands together and bringing the shadows to rest. Sighing with barely a hint of enhanced chakra control, he created a dense fog in the room, a truer manifestation of the vapor element. It was said that there were supposedly ones in the world who were composed of nothing but the mist, hence where the legendary Water Country isles gained their nickname but he wasn’t one to believe in ever playing second fiddle to anybody. Forming the water vapor into a ball, he condensed the element into something physical, with which he used to leave smoky trails around the ceiling, floating pictures on his forever canvas, he thought back to how many battles on the high seas had been decided by inclement weather. With the fog of war at his command there wasn’t a battle that he couldn’t influence for good or for bad depending upon your side of the port. Moving the held chakra manifestation further, he held it with one hand as he formed an equally sized shadow element variant in the other hand. It was said that powerful men often sat at the seat of two tables but with the way that Umashi was thinking and the title that he was aiming for, it was soon apparent that the world might not indeed be enough. Fire, water, two very different elements yet still basic; powerful alone and yet devastating together. Closing both of his hands into fist, he ceased controlling either of the two elements that he had held before as he realized that he’d have to be even more chaotic than the fusion of fire and water, more hungry than the fires that raged in his heart and yet still as lasting as the ocean grand. There was much work to be done and he was not even finished with the beginning of it.

His eyes closed, he begin to breathe in and out, ushering his chakra to him and yet still holding it at bay. Somewhere in the distance he could feel his opponents fear, but this wasn't so much a physical thing as a mental one. Hearing his thoughts was easy but it was the timed calculation of it all that worried him in these painfully slow moments. Feeling the burn as it was, the feeling of blood trickling down his arm might have normally warranted a response out of him but hiding as he was, he couldn't risk the chance of exposure by sub-coming to the mental pressure to be too human and dress his wounds. Somehow even in all the pain that he was in, he felt invigorated to fight on, something like a second wind coming upon him. Opening his eyes just a glimmer, he prayed that they wouldn't betray him in the brush and he scanned the surrounding area for trouble. He took in his surroundings with a subdued awe. It was far too beautiful a scene to be considered a battlefield but the paradisaical conditions of the beach before him seemed to beckon him to enjoy them. Mentally, he was losing his edge to the lull of the waves on his ears, the one sense that he couldn't really get a hold of. Ever insect that chirped, bird that took to flight and rolling wave drew him further and further from his edge. Licking his parched lips, he wondered how long he'd been out here, a few days, maybe even a week? Somewhere the great doctors experiment had gone wrong and the life's training exercise had failed to be just that, an exercise. His sparing partner had gone made and here he was running away scared and fearing for his life. Now where was he? Nothing seemed to stir around him, in fact, strangely enough he couldn't even hear an inkling of the mans thoughts. Was he somehow shielding himself mentally from Umashi? Somehow he highly doubted that the man held that kind of skill but he couldn't leave anything up to chance. Slowly moving his still useful arm down to his side, he picked up the wooden sword that he had at his feet and slowly dragged it back to his side, it would have to serve him better now then it had in the past. A rustling in the bush, his eyes darting to his left, he looked to see what it was but found nothing in his sights. Looking to his right, and back to the left before looking back forward. Was that him, his so called trainer? He had indeed heard something but if it wasn't before him, then it had to be . . . his arm moved faster than his thoughts as he slashed behind him into a pile of nothing but branches and leaves, but it was enough to expose the shadow of his opponent falling from above down on top of him. Flipping back onto the sandy beach he held the wooden sword out before him as he seemingly automatically retaliated the failed assault with one handed seals that allowed a geyser of flames to lick the brush where the darkly dressed foe was supposedly standing. His surprise at the steadily rushing man though gave way to a wave of fear that forced him to drop his sword at his side. Somehow, even in a split seconds instance he'd messed up by looking into the eyes of his fear inspiring foe. Sensing an incoming attack he dodged by clever use of his fallen weapon as he was now his opponent who'd missed a chance to pounce. Umashi, far younger and much more creative it seemed, dropped to his knees and used both hands to amplify his already heightened cognitive powers to the point where the crippling genjutsu no longer affected him. His enemy coming in for another strike with his carefully held wooden tanto, Umashi braced himself as he was soon found himself being circled like crippled prey. Realizing just how quickly the man could strike now, more than ever, Umashi averted his eyes to the sand at the mans feet as he suddenly saw his way to salvation. Acting as though the genjutsu was still affecting him, he began to stumble backwards as he saw the mans feet pick up to take advantage of the opportunity. This proved to be a fatal mistake however, as Umashi timed the seconds between the mans feet moving like a blur and taking a guesstimate, he aimed a single hand seal at the man and released the single handed jutsu seal that he held as the man found himself instantly bound at the feet and tripping forward. The tanto in his hand seemed to sail forever as Umashi eyed it with renewed vigor and plucked it from the air as he quickly reacted to the falling man by rushing towards the spot where he landed, tanto poised at the back of the mans neck. Barely drawing blood, he knew that should the man breathe too hard it would take but the barest bit of pressure to send it straight into his spinal column but he knew that this time there was no coming back from this. He'd won at one of his fathers dastardly games.

CA Abilities: 20 pts

Demonic Aura - Passive (3 points)
Restriction - C Rank and up
A person in touch with their dark side is completely surrounded by a pervading feel of evil that inspires fear in even the strongest of shinobi. Though the power of fear is nice, the aura of doom does make it hard to win the trust of others.
Effect: Every round, every other person in the battle besides the user must make a Genjutsu Save check. If they fail, all jutsu they use that round do -10% damage and they receive -1 Genjutsu DC (stacks to -2 Genjutsu DC). This stops while under the effects of Evil Sealing.

Third Eye - Modification (3 points)
Restriction - C Rank and up, requires Sixth Sense
By unlocking the mortal restraints on their mind, the demonic shinobi can gain use of the third eye, the super sense beyond all senses. They can hear someone's surface thoughts (what someone else's character thinks, the demonic ninja can hear as if they were talking) simply by being near them if they are of similar or lower power level (within 25 points total power or lower), and a small chance to discern the motives of a superior. This effect replaces Sixth Sense.
Effect - +2 to all Stealth, Genjutsu Save, and Awareness checks.

Akuton - Dependent Special Move (3 points)
By channeling dark energy into a jutsu, the demonic shinobi can make their attacks more powerful and of a darker nature. This can only be used with offensive ninjutsu that directly deal damage. These jutsu are now Akuton, or evil element jutsu, in addition to their other elemental properties, so effects that would normally block or absorb elemental damage are only half as effective.
Effect: The user may convert a Ninjutsu into the 'Dark' element to increases its damage by +20% and allowing it to cut through all Ninjutsu damage reduction. Jutsu used this way cost +25% Cp and cannot have their chakra cost reduced, and this may only be done once per round.

Mind Ripper - Independent Special move (3 points)
Restriction- C Rank and up, stat average of 150
By grabbing a victim’s head and channeling dark energy and evil will into their mind, a demonic shinobi can temporarily traumatize their opponent, lowering their will power, or in some cases, instantly destroying any hint of sanity.
Effect: Grabs an opponent’s head at -3 melee accuracy (-2 accuracy with Called Shot). Subsequently ravages their mind, inflicting a -3 to genjutsu resist for the remainder of the battle (this part is treated as a level 6 genjutsu). For the next 5 rounds, Â starting from the next round after the opponent is hit by Mind Ripper, they have a 20% chance for every action they take to go into temporary convulsions and lose that action. Every time these convulsions take place, the opponent takes 3% Max HP damage. The opponent can only go into convulsions once per round. Using Mind Ripper takes 2AP and can only be used once per battle, per target (if they miss grabbing their intended target’s head, it doesn’t count for this).

Daunting Presence - Boost (2 points)
Restriction- Can be taken up to two times
Demons instill a great deal of fear into their opponents. This fear can make them quite hesitant--and easier to take advantage of. Hesitation is all a demon needs to strike.
Effect: Opponents take a -1 dodge penalty during rounds where they attempt to attack the user.

Fell Vengeance - Dependent Special Move (2 points)
It isn't always smart to attack a demon. They might get a touch mad at you, and mad demons are a force to be reckoned with. In fact, if you can't dispatch them quickly, it is sometimes better not to try at all.
Effect: A single melee taijutsu attack can be overcharged to do 30% extra damage on any turn when the user has been hit already. Cannot be combined with Akuton. Adds 10% CP cost to the jutsu.

Demon Blessing - Passive (2 points)
The mind of a demon is much less susceptible to attack than that of a mere mortal, restricting Genjutsu from targeting them too easily. Being so alien to most forms of chakra, a practitioner of the mind arts will find them harder to snare.
Effect: +2 Genjutsu Save.

Form of the Demon - Jutsu (2 points)
Restriction- A-Rank and up
This technique is the ultimate incarnation of a demonic ninja’s tie to his or her hellish ancestry. Releasing all bonds and restrictions, they unleash their true demonic nature, becoming a terrifying being of power and awe. The after affects are disastrous, however.
Rank 1: While Active, the user gains a +1 to all secondary stats and all jutsu are considered "Dark". This means they deal +5% damage to all damage types that does not apply to damage buff limits, and bypasses half of any damage reduction the victim may have. In addition, all damage dealt upon the user is reduced by 10% and this reduced damage is instead converted into CP for the user.
Rank 2: While Active, the user gains a +2 to all secondary stats and all jutsu are considered "Dark". This means they deal +10% damage to all damage types that does not apply to damage buff limits, and bypasses half of any damage reduction the victim may have. In addition, all damage dealt upon the user is reduced by 20% and this reduced damage is instead converted into CP for the user.

Cost: 3 AP and 2,400 HP to initiate. 1,140 HP/Rnd.

Notes: This counts as a Chakra Armor.

~Back to where it all began~
So perhaps it was true in fact, that Umashi had lost that certain eye ability that allowed him to shatter reality with the utmost clarity of thought. Perhaps . . . Though if you asked him it wasn’t that major of a loss to him all things considered. The O-Kami Unit had more than made up for the fact that he’d lost that fire in his eyes and instead had expanded his mind to a world of possibilities. Why be great in one area when you could be great in them all? Why be great in your fantasies if you could be great within a plausible reality? Getting back to his roots so to speak, Umashi dropped the guise of the shadow master and stepped into the light to extend the pun a bit. Focusing more on the physical aspects of fighting, he quickend his pace while lessoning his refined reactions to more hyperactive movements. The quirky ways of a pirate were far less predictable than the chivalrous nature of a cavalier. By giving himself over to the beast, he found that wounds healed far faster and even his ability to heal others increased as well. A price to pay. Though again it was a price that had to be paid.

Earning enough of a living via war was one thing, but the type of monsters that it created was an entirely different sort of animal. Having lost that fire, Umashi had to pick up more baseline skillsets in other elements. He’d taken his duties seriously enough in that respect. With what spark he could muster, he amplified that with the O-Kami unit and materialized something great. With the earthen affinity that he held, he turned even the sturdiest of stone into blades the likes of which even a master sword smith would be proud of. The Red Rain may have caused the downfall of one way of life but what it created would last far longer. What he found most exciting about the new Konoha were all the possibilities that could be found with the people who were wholly optimistic of the future. The Konoha under Kami was anything but and all that it had eventually done was grown too much far too fast. This new Konoha was simpler in form and more akin to the world around it. One ran by the people and not by corporation’s hell bent on extorting even the lowliest of men.

With what he was able to do now, the fanciful footwork was fine and dandy but it all was leading up to the final showdown as it were. Umashi planned to use only his words but he was sure that with the current state of the world, words just might not be enough. It was a simple enough plan really; gather the needed folk and explain the truth . . . or at least the truth as he saw it. If things progressed as they could then at best he’d get the reply that he was desperately searching for and at the worst, he might end up in a very lopsided fight. He really didn’t want to fight. Fighting lead to clothes getting dirty and dirty clothes lead to somebody not making it home for dinner on time. Dinner was important. The story was set in his mind, and with that all he had to do was pray for a perfect execution. He’d been in other precarious situations before and he’d managed to weather them out. Heck, he’d been called out by the great Kami himself and he still walked away. Sometimes history leant itself to repeats.

~Black and White 2~
The thing about pirates was that they always had extravagant names. From giving themselves ludicrously fanciful names to simply naming themselves after all the colors of the rainbow, it really didn’t matter. Umashi on the other hand, was of the sort that he’d rather have a fanciful group of made up names. It was simpler that way . . . unless you were actually trying to keep up with the lies and in that case, good fortune to you. At this particular moment, Umashi was locked in combat with the infamous Blackbeard who quite strangely enough, didn’t have a black beard. He was quickly greying and everybody knew it but a given pirate name wasn’t a name so soon replaced. A man of poise and a true gentleman of the sea, rumor had it that he had royal blood somewhere or another but Umashi hadn’t exactly checked the politics on that one.

With what he did know, the man was clearly a capable fighter and the fact was evident in the way that his blade was akin to a finely pointed threading needle rather than a largely monstrous thing. Umashi ever the minimalist, was dueling with an arm’s length metal bar . . . nothing special or fancy at all, and despite what simple logic might have predicted, he was holding his own quite well. Locked in a dance, ever controlled flurry from Blackbeard caused Umashi to twirl and parry with equally controlled movements. A stalemate was clearly evident and yet both men were controlled enough in their thoughts to not risk taking advantage of a vital mistake versus actually making one themselves. Blackbeard’s men surrounding them, the hollowness of the bar that Umashi was wielding was the ultimate game changer that he was hoping to use, but with barely an opening being made evident for him, he decided to risk it all on a simple.

He’d fought other men before but Blackbeard was different in that he was very much like Umashi himself, able to ebb and flow with the current of the world around him. Unlike Umashi though, Blackbeard was also a master at wind based chakra styles as well. Feeling the air around him beginning to be sucked out of his very lungs, Umashi went on the true offensive and dove at his opponent as he attempted to beat him down with the blows of the bar. Heavy strikes lending themselves to him being able to take even one more vita breath, again and again and again he attempted to pummel the man with relentless strikes. Yet still, Blackbeard would not be tamed as he danced more and more and more away from the area in which Umashi was king. Seeing that he was about to be stumbled by an overturned rope and the wall of men not being quick enough to notice it either, Umashi tensed up into a lunge, and was promptly aware of somebody far too close as he instead rolled to his side and escaped with a cut arm versus a severed neck.

Retreating to a crouching pose, Umashi looked to find who this mystery assailant was and was greeted with the sight of the equally infamous Whitebeard. The name too was a misnomer though as Whitebeard was in fact a she, not a he and thankfully had a hair full of platinum blonde hair versus an actual white beard. Having inherited the mantle from her father before her, she’d also been cursed with his bouts of madness. Her crazy style was augmented by the swashbuckler type of blade that she brandished and the sinister crescent moon curve of it. A bit taken back by this act of betrayal, Umashi wondered if the two were working in tandem but a string of curses from Blackbeard confirmed that the two weren’t working together and that she had clearly snuck her way onto the ship. A three way standoff, Blackbeard was helped up by his men and Whitebeard spoke her claim as the “Queen of the Sea”. Feeling as though the name might have gone better with a particularly obvious uneven number, Umashi willed the blood streaking down his shoulder to become a blade and then he too stood. If this was going to be a triple battle then he certainly was going to come prepared.

Neither of the other two wishing to actually don another weapon; Blackbeard seemed to be too good for such a dastardly style and Whitebeards blade already proved to be unwieldy enough for her. Slowly creeping toward the “dancing” ring, Umashi and Blackbeard both knew that Whitebeard would be the first to strike. Playing right into her habits, she went into a spinning assault and ducking, Umashi used the rocking of the ship from the seas waves to allow him to come up behind and push her into Blackbeard who in turn was forced to defend with all of his might and force her off. She in turn planted her blade into the deck and used it to fire off a vaulting set of kicks that caught Blackbeard in the chest and forced him to a knee. Using her momentum to dive kick at Umashi, she was met with crossed blade and bar and vaulted back to her blade as she strained to pull it out of the deck in time to catch a blow from Blackbeard. His blade seemingly slid freely off of the flat of hers and he was directed towards Umashi who met him with crimson blade and locked him into a power struggle.

Whitebeard seeing an opportunity, attempted to one off Umashi all to meet and cleave in two Umashis seemingly standard metal bar. Throwing the remnants at her to which she dodged all too easily, Umashi gave a sweeping kick that was easily jumped over but that allowed him to roll backwards and send Blackbeard into Whitebeard. With the two of them tangled up together, Umashi gathered his wits and did a running lunge towards the two downed opponents. They both agreed to disagree and sent differing waves of elemental chakra at Umashi forcing him to once again rethink his attack. Rolling to his side he grabbed his blade with both hands and focusing his chakra into the strikingly colored blade, he swung and extended the length of it until it couldn’t extend anymore. A desperation attack more than anything. He fully expected them to block and parry and that’s when he extended the blade around them and entrapped them in a gratifyingly red bubble.

Chuckling to himself he used the suspension of disbelief to run and vault himself into the sea for his escape. He’d live to fight another day but for now he had bigger fish to fry as the saying went. Well that wasn’t one fight that he was going to particularly enjoy having to retail. Chuckling to himself he patted the turtle beneath him as they sped through the waves towards the nearest little island. He’d rest for a night and then he’d gather supplies and send out the letters. For all that it was worth; Umashi didn’t know what he’d do without the aid of the turtles. They were always there to guard him and he’d always look to them for guidance due to their longevity. That and they were just plain old cool . . . in a sea faring sense.
Much needed exercise to distract his mind for the moment, he knew that the type that he’d encounter in Stone would be the likes of which would make any lesser of a man or woman cringe. Especially with his lofty goals, he was sure to make an enemy or two . . . or three. Heck, why not the whole village for all it was worth. Iwa had helped out Konoha in the past but for how long in the future? That remained to be seen. If the folk that he was seeking an audience with her concerning folk then things ought to run smoothly but the issue with egos and chakra meant that every situation was highly volatile. Getting into the village was easy enough, passing the unrest and the confusion in the streets was also just as easy. Being able to blend in with the masses was something that Umashi was especially adaptive to. Now to see what he was to expect. Long live the King, no?
