Acrobatics: Katsumi lifted his arms above his head, stretching out his back muscles with a contended sigh. It felt good to be in this grove of trees. He loved the outdoors and the feeling of a nice breeze. He ran up a tree after carefully concentrating his chakra to his feet. Pushing off, his hands grabbed at a lower branch and he swung in loops a few times before using that momentum to propel himself to the next tree. He didn't quite time it right and his face almost smacked into the branch. It narrowly missed him and he landed on the ground with a roll. “
Well...that was close...” Katsumi stretched some more and decided to try again. He practiced all morning long until He flipping through the trees in a blur of speed. He even did so on the ground, leaping over large boulders and side stepping prickly thorn bushes. It felt exhilarating to run, practically fly through the forest. It turned into his daily routine and each day he seemed to get more and more agile. [WC: 178]
Combat Instinct: There were 3 traps he had made in front of him. Each were deadly and could kill him if he made the wrong move. He made them himself out of wire and kunai. They were designed to launch 3 kunai each toward him, but to make this training less of a death sentence he made it so they only launched one each. He prepared himself and cut the wire that was next to him, attached to the tree. At full velocity, they were launched simultaneously and Katsumi quickly flashed over to the side to avoid one. One of the knives that skimmed his shoulder. Not quick enough. “
How am I supposed to dodge sets of 3 if I cant dodge...3?” He took a deep, relaxed breath and set up the traps again. He got cut a few more times before managing to dodge them correctly. He thought this would be a test of speed but it wasn't quite that. He learned that by moving through the gaps of an attack, he could dodge and get closer to his opponent. “
Being a Taijutsu user...this can really help me...” Each time he dodged the kunai he got more and more closer to the traps, until soon, it was like he blurred through the kunai, sword in hand, ready for an offensive attack. [WC: 221]
Combo Master: Katsumi had always prided himself on how fast he was. It's not like he wanted to boast but he just loved when the world seemed to blur around him. He felt free. The training room for the ANBU was quite spacious which was perfect for any kind of training. He produced a clone of himself which would serve as a sparring partner. He wanted to practice his Taijutsu, both armed and unarmed. The clone he had conjured wasn't exactly a good partner. It wasn't solid and disappeared before he barely attacked it. So he moved to the practice dummies, which would serve as better use. He quickly spun, kicking the dummy 3 times as quick as he could in a roundhouse motion. After a half hour of practicing his Tai one after the other, he decided to try and link them together. He found that immediately using a technique as if it were part of the first, made him seem much more fluid. He started linking his attacks together until soon he was a flurry of motion and the dummy lay in a heap on the ground. He felt like he had a wonderful work out and wished to retire for now from training. [WC: 206]
Concentration: Back when his older brother Kennin was alive and Katsumi still lived with his parents back in the Fire Country, it was never quiet. In fact, a better word than lived would be, survived. Up in the tiny room where Kennin and himself usually were if not outside, they could both hear their parents screaming at each other. Katsumi was frightened and as usual, Kennin was there to protect him. “
Alright Katsumi...close your eyes and concentrate. I want you to think of a way out of this situation. What can we do, hm?” Katsumi knew Kennin was trying to get him to rely on himself instead of always him. So the younger brother blocked out what was happening downstairs and tried to think of a way to sneak downstairs without arousing his mother's attention. “
Ah!” He opened his eyes with a slight smile. “
We can distract them with a noise...like a thrown object...then we can sneak outside..?” His older brother thought about this plan. Before he could say anything, Katsumi interjected. “
We can make it look like something just tipped over on its own!” Kennin smiled at the plan and ushered him downstairs, holding a small rock. Just peeking into view, Kennin tossed the rock at the vase perched near his screaming parents. It swayed and finally tipped over, crashing loudly on the wooden floor. Both adults were startled for a moment, then accusing each other. With their backs turned to the children, they slipped out through the front door. Katsumi showed quick thinking and the ability to concentrate when any normal person could not. [WC: 266]
Duelist: Back in the ANBU training room, Katsumi requested to have someone aid him in his training. He wanted to fight someone one on one to get the feel of battle. Because honestly, he's never really been in a real fight with a shiobi before. It's all been strange monsters on missions he participated in before. All his skills and jutsu were gained through practices. His speed was something he wanted to work on, more specifically dodging attacks of any kind. To him, being able to dodge attacks is more important then landing any yourself. That doesn't mean he doesn’t think it's important however. So, one on one, himself and his training partner attacked each other. Katsumi found that t was easy to dodge if he really set his mind to it. The anbu blasted a fire ninjutsu at him, so he leaped right over it, going right in for the attack with a Dynamic Entry. His partner really had no time to dodge and Katsumi sent him clear across the room. At the end of the match, the Uchiha really thought he was well suited for hand to hand combat. It was easy to just concentrate on that one opponent without having to worry about others. [WC: 206]
