Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description:
Pushing into his second 50s', Toushin is a well build man for his age. Through precice muscle training using both extreme physical training while trimming fibers with Lighting Release chakra nodes, the assassin has a body and talent that keeps him able to keep up with the younger generations; with a seemingly endless amount of stamina built through wisdom. His head is graced with long flowing silver hair that cascades past his shoulders, generally only kept somewhat tamed by a ponytail. A meticulously trimmed beard adorns his jawline, with a moustache to match - it being the one thing he allows himself to be vain about. Golden irises swim in black eyes that generally tend to glow now a menacing "bad moon" color while in combat. His clothing varies: generally seen wearing kimonos or other loose clothing meant for comfort, his battle attire is entirely different. Despite trained entirely in assassin techniques and stealth killing mentality, Uzu dons heavy armor and wields two blades - Sin and Mercy - that are strapped over his right shoulder; though he generally only fights with one sword at a time. Covered in Real Skin™, his left arm is mechanical - a product of the Takahashi Clan with specific designs placed by Ryuu Tama.

Character's Mental Description:
Toushin is a stalwart minded individual who rarely breaks form for anything. Once it’s set in stone, he will follow it to the letter. That said a long life has given him enough wisdom to know when to adjust his expectations and follow through; living life this way has lead to a lot of pleasant surprises. Ever a man of pride, Toushin rarely backs down from any task given to him - even if it means death. Underneath the calm exterior of pride is a quiet rage that has been bottled up for far longer than most humans would be capable of handling. It can be felt when the assassin expresses disappointment, and it has been described like wading in a river of raw hate. Unknown to the most recent Kazekage, for the files on himself were mysteriously lost long ago, the assassin has personally been the hand to end the lives of many - enough to make him something akin to a demon. Rivals, nobility, merchants - no one is safe from his blade save those he has sworn loyalty to. Yet within that tough, stoic mind is a soft spot. Being a father and mentor to multiple students throughout the last 100 years has caused small chinks in his mental armor for certain loved ones. While it is doubtful he'd ever turn on those he is sworn to, those who know the old murderer are well aware of his tendancy to do anything, for his daughter Chiyoko.

Character History:
In the records kept closely guarded by the Oracles lies information that has been meticulously kept secret about a specific clan. It is information that is privy only to the eyes of the Kazekage and the wizened elder leading the record keepers. The clan in question was an assassin clan that dates all the way back to the days of Primus and the war against the Ancients. Specializing in stealth combat and a number of forbidden Blood Magic justu that can do everything from freezing an opponent in their tracks, to physically enhancing their own combat prowess via complete adrenal control. After the war, the clan had little left to do with the deadly techniques they had sacrificed so much for except continue employing them against the unjust. Always a shadow in the background keeping the status quo outside of Sunagakure’s eyes, the Uzumoreru gently kept the frayed parts of society from ever overtaking the early decades of the new human kingdom. It wasn’t until the Maelstrom pushed everyone into the carcass of a worm did everything finally flip for the Uzumoreru clan.

Trapped beneath the dunes they had only their fellow man to judge - and man was sorely lacking. By the time Toushin was born as the heir to this clan it had already fallen into decadence and dishonor. Born with blood so heavy in iron it was tinted black, the child was hailed as the “savior” of the clan as was prophesied by elders shortly after being forced underground. However, the entire “prophecy” was little more the hearsay among the noble blooded to keep their position. In reality the babe’s blood was a sign of a rare chakra cancer that they barely kept in check with a lead ball that had special runes scratched onto them. The assassin wouldn’t have a chakra coil for the majority of nearly 70 years of his life - instead, he was trained to gently pull in the nature chakra of the world around him into that ball in his stomach and use it in bursts. Between this and the brutal training that invoked their kin to kill off all emotions, Uzu, as he was honored, became the perfect killing machine.

And it was all a bad joke.

The chakra cancer was there for life. Eventually, it would kill him and most likely sooner than later. Kick in the nuts was that the upper echelon of the Uzumoreru had known this for decades too. There had been two other “Uzu’s” before Toushin, that both died in their early twenties with clear signs of when the cancer would kill them. Heretics, they had been called. False Saviors who’s names were stricken from the records. Who’s family were culled to prevent such false hope again. The difference between Toushin and the “Uzu’s” that came before him, was that he never showed those signs. It became more than apparent that this child was “the one”. The irony, however, was that Toushin failed in his role of being the one capable of lifting the clan back to the surface and saving them from the shadows; nay, he single-handedly destroyed them instead. How could one man destroy an ancient generational clan of assassins?

Fall in love.

Pride, was the first emotion that Toushin re-learned to feel. His ability to assassinate literally any target by the time he was thirteen lifted his self-esteem to believe in himself being something other than a tool. Pride lead to Hubris. Hubris lead to Greed. Greed lead to Lust. By the time the Prince of Assassins had crossed paths with the femme fatale that changed his life, he was already well on the path of self destruction.

There was once a time when that, if you spoke of Ryuu Tama, it could not be mentioned without also speaking of the shadow of the Uzumoreru’s prince that stalked the scientist. Their first meeting involved a well placed blade across Tama’s throat. Their second was nearly the same until a female assassin named Kitanai, stepped between the two and offered Toushin a taste of her flesh in exchange for the scientist’s life. The mission he had taken to do in the serial killer behind the woman was personal, a side-hustle for money that his clan couldn’t track. He had already tried to kill Tama once and failed - the first ever wound to his pride. Yet something about her eyes drew his attention far more than a need to assuage his ego.

Together the duo came up with a scheme to extort the mad scientist once it came to their knowledge that he was directly funded by the current Kazekage of the time; Sousuke. He would pretend to try and kill Tama every now and again, she would pretend to protect him, and charge a high-fee to do it; they’d split the winnings evenly. It was a steady, and fun, side job for Toushin that became more and more serious with every meet to get his cut of the money. He couldn’t get her out of his head. It was more than her talents in bed that enticed him to be in her presence and he couldn’t explain what exactly made him feel this way.

What was the downfall for both of them, was that she reciprocated those same feelings.

Kitanai was married. To a rather powerful and influential shinobi within the military of Suna’s underground guard-dogs. For some time he tried to hide her within his clan’s palace built deep within the catacombs of the worm’s stomach, but she couldn’t abide to staying and hiding there with him for the rest of her life. Though the love they felt for each other was strong, it was a relationship that couldn’t be without literally starting a war with Sunagakure. So, they broke it off, and Toushin was afflicted with heartbreak for the first time. His woes had only just begun.

His younger brother, Iziang, whom had been born with blood pure as snow, staged a coup to take the reigns from their parents. Toushin’s depression following his heartache did nothing to stand in his brother’s way and accepted the exile to Sunagakure where he was to likely be killed by Kitanai’s husband. Upon reaching the surface and slowly mingling into society from afar it was a short time before he did indeed run across the woman’s husband. The man had no way of knowing who Uzu was as Kitanai had been very strict in not giving up the name of the man who had kidnapped her; but he did slip that she was pregnant.

The assassin kept his distance from the couple, but always had an eye on her while she came to term. He was certain the child was his, and if so he would need to whisk it and potentially the other assassin out of Suna and into the Maelstrom. Long ago he had learned of a path that he could take that would lead them away into Soon where the people hadn’t been effected by the desert’s rage. During the last month of Kitanai’s pregancy, the assassin’s life was turned upside down, again.

In the first week of his exile, Toushin had taken on a young apprentice named Ame, that had a talent for blades so rare he felt it his duty to pass down a technique for her to master. The Uzumoreru clan that his brother had transformed felt it was a great idea to kidnap this apprentice to entice the Uzu back to the clan so they could kill him personally in a ritual to empower Iziang; the new king. Instead, the exiled prince tapped a resource he never thought he would ever use - Ryuu Tama himself. The scientist was not only a close friend of Ame, whom had known her since she was in the Academy, but more than happy to erase Toushin’s clan from their universe.

The entire battle took thirty minutes from start to finish. Uzu rescued his apprentice, killed his younger brother without really trying to, and Tama erased the rest of the assassins by dropping their castle into the gorge they had built it over via a powerful wind ninjutsu. A day later Kitanai gave birth to twins - one with his bloodline, the other belonging to her partner. The assassin quickly stole his child away and took to the dunes, his apprentice following behind as the Uzumoreru had taken everything away from her in their attempt to kill the Uzu.

Together they raised the child, eventually became a couple, and lived happily for five years until a note came in for Ame describing an ancient weapon belonging to her clan that needed to be collected by her hands only. In need of a fresh adventure, the swords-woman bid her husband farewell as he trained their daughter and came back two weeks later as a head in a box. The symbol of Tama’s clan was burned onto her forehead, invoking a direct rage at the mad scientist he hadn’t felt since their second meet. The entire death, head included, was a ruse from Tengokai - Tama’s father. He felt that his son was truly unkillable in many areas, but that if there was one human in the entire world who could do it, it would be the self-titled Prince of Assassins. Toushin left his child, Chiyo, in the care of Sunagakure and left to hunt down a method to kill the Solar Hybrid.

Sixteen years of searching finally brought the assassin back home to do his deed only to find himself at the mercy of his suddenly twenty-year old daughter. To say she was a brat would be taking it lightly, and the stoic assassin didn’t take well to her attitude. His anger lashed out more than once against her, the woman who had raised her, and the shinobi village itself for many years after, especially when he learned she had joined and quit their military once already. The bottled anger he had meant to unleash against the mad scientist was also forced in deeper as Tama had the direct protection of Sousuke and the current Kazekage - Katsuo. He had gone through some sort of redemption arc while the Uzu was traveling the world learning ancient killing techniques.

The scientist, in the form of an old man due to a weening from human souls, told Toushin that the person who likely killed his wife was the Hybrid’s father and not him; he had no reason to lie. Teng had also made a mess of the Toraono clan while Toushin was away, and fathered a second child, Michino. Likely the death of his wife was a reason to get Uzu to kill Tama but, the Curse of the Ryuu Clan had grown impatient and moved on to a different strategy instead. The feeling of having been played so handedly burned the assassin’s pride hard once more.

Toushin quickly took back to the Underground, filled the vacuum Tama left, and became the “King”, down there for a solid decade before dismantling the entire organized crime syndicate himself and joining ANBU as an adviser and a redactor of sensitive materials. It was what allowed him to keep a vice-grip of Diamond’s nobles that also nearly ruined the Black Market. Only thing that saved it inadvertently was a deadly interloper known as Yong; and at the hands of that far stronger opponent, Uzu nearly tasted the sweet release of death. Instead he survived, barely, and found the disease that should of killed him in his youth in full swing once more. The battle had been so intense that he broke the lead ball inside of his stomach that had kept the cancer at bay. Without the ability to channel any sort of nature chakra into his body, the disease at him alive. During this time, he briefly took on another apprentice to pass his techniques onto to aid Sunagakure, but before her training was finished his illness overtook him, and he was quickly hospitalized.

Within that hospital room the scientist Ryuu Tama appeared and injected Toushin with “something,” that caused the old man to enter cataract arrest. Michino threw Tama out the fourth story window of the Omni-Prime and the final Uzu of the Uzumoreru clan died right after Tama. Except, it was all according to the mad scientist’s plan. His corpse was never found, and Toushin’s corpse was exhumed by an unknown person shortly after his burial.

Tama did what any friend would do when the meaning behind his life for the last thirty years would do - he cloned them. Ever since that first death, Toushin and Tama played a game of cat-n-mouse, and this continued on and off for most of their lives; especially during the ten years following Uzu’s return to “royalty”. The scientist would also gift his “friend” immortality by splicing Toushin’s genteics with both his own, and his late wife’s. The fusion of the three would create a body of “the perfect assassin”, and all Tama had to do was inject it with his friend’s soul.

When Toushin woke back up, all he could feel was fury. Fury at having his chance at eternal peace after seventy years of assassination stolen by this blond bastard once again. He broke free of Tama’s lab and escaped to parts of the desert the madman couldn’t reach. There the killer laid low with his new body and began to live a second life as a simple mercenary for a single year. Then the second year, after saving up all his money, he bought a boat and became a fisherman. Another eight years would pass before the two would cross paths again.

The old assassin was overweight, wore glasses, and clearly had stopped training long ago. Tama wailed at the sight of the perfect body, perfectly gone to waste. The only reason the two managed to cross paths again was due to Shin’s recent ascent to the title of Kazekage and a need to fill important positions. Tama, contracted once again to the village leader, had a list of people he could tap to help fill in gaps but, there was one person at the top of that list that would require Suna’s best “blood-hounds” to sniff out. Toushin found the ANBU before they found him, and only agreed to meet Tama because he was curious as to why the scientist was working with the military again.

His curiosity sated, Toushin said no at first. Tama then reminded him that his daughter was still very much alive and engaged now; still to Michino. Playing at the old assassin’s heartstrings he finally agreed to follow Tama back into Suna to meet with the Kazekage himself - but, under a single condition from the blond asshole. He had to remove Toushin’s immortality. When asked why the hell would any human would refuse it, the assassin simply glared at the giant who had taken away his death once before until he relented.

The ritual involved chakra-carving a sigil into the man’s back, and shaving off the extra “soul layer” that kept the assassin from feeling death’s breath on the back of his neck. It should have been overly painful, but ever true to his legacy, Uzu urged Tama to “hurry it up, I don’t got all day.” Upon removing that layer of soul the assassin aged instantly to about his late forties; which was still a good thirty years off his actual age, but he took it in stride

Within moments of slipping into Sunagakure, the assassin, still dressed as a simple fish monger, was in Shin’s office, sitting on the windowsill and staring in at the disappointing lack of security since his time away. After a short introduction, Uzu swore his alliance to the desert military on the grounds that he be allowed to exclusively teach new ANBU recruits - he didn’t care what title was required to preform that deed but, it was what he had to offer. Over a thousand years of Uzumoreru training secrets. It came to a surprise that he was offered Captain so simply, but Toushin didn’t turn it down; the extra power would help restore key cornerstones to the ANBU’s defense.

A week after exploring the open defenses and learning of the 12th's plan to introduce more outside forces to the Sunagakure, Toushin stepped up and challened the Kazekage to place him in a position of power to directly see to the desert village's weakened defenses. A fight ensued that was taken advantage by a wondering Flame Court Ancient, nearly killing Toushin and kidnapping Chikamatsu Shin. He has since returned to his own self training awhile overseeing the careers of the two shinobi girls given to him to train by the 12th's last order to him. Within a few months he managed to shed his massive weight and begin preciese muscle training to put him back up to speed with the current generation.

Nanjirou.jpg

A distinct clan of samurai that hail from a land far in the South, they have been the source of some of the greatest weaponmasters throughout the known land. Renown for the lethal finesse they display in their kenjutsu, with some of the most ancient blades, a Nanjirou is said to come of age only when their ancestry awakens within them; gifting them with spiritual link to their ancestors that can be evoked to display advanced techniques honed through generations of experience. The Nanjirou clan's most well known warriors are generally directly tied to one of two famous swordsmen: one who created most of the ancient weapons the clan wields, and the second who created most of the kenjutsu the clan uses in battle.

Note: All Nanjrou Techniques match the Taijutsu Subtype of the weapon with the [Ancient] Augment

Ancient Weapon - Passive
The Nanjirou are marked by two things; their weapon, and the ability to use it. These weapons were created well over a thousand years ago by either a clan progenitor or a legendary blacksmith who owed the family some great debt. Yet despite their age, and sometimes even their appearance, these weapons are renowned for a reason. Within the hands of the Nanjirou, they hold a weapon capable of whispering clan secrets that can destroy all its user seeks to end.

Rank 1/2/3: Choose one Weapon and one Weapon Slot in the User’s inventory. The weapon gains the [Ancient] Augment in a free slot. Weapons with the [Ancient] Augment gain an alignment of the user's choice (Holy, Cursed, or Spiritual) and gain a +5/10/15% damage buff to its taijutsu subtype. The weapon slot becomes a Sheath Slot.

Notes:
  • [Ancient] Augment alignment cannot be changed. (ie: if a technique used with the Ancient Weapon would be Cursed, and the sword is Holy, the damage is instead Holy.)
  • A weapon in the Sheath Slot is passively equipped, whenever the user is not wielding any other weapon, does not prevent the usage of hand seals and cannot be disarmed.
  • The user may place or remove a weapon in the Sheath Slot for 0 AP.
  • Unless otherwise stated, a User may only have 1 [Ancient] Augment and 1 Sheath Slot.
  • The user has access to the augments from the weapon in the Sheath Slot.
  • The Alignment and Taijutsu subtype must both be noted in the user's dojo.
  • Hitokogetsu puppets cannot be given the [Ancient] Augment or equipped in the Sheath Slot.

---

Omni-Step - Passive
A Nanjirou’s early training comes in multiple forms of combat so that they can find and adhere to a style of fighting that accentuates their prowess. While all the members of the clan are trained to fight with either sword or spear, the Nanjirou are practitioners in all weapons so that they can know exactly how an enemy plans to fight and rarely do they come across a style of combat that is unfamiliar. Through this intense training they often swap styles of combat to adhere to the opponent they are attempting to strike down.

Rank 1/2/3: When the user enters any style, they gain a Taijutsu Accuracy buff of +1/+2/+3. When the user exits any style, they gain a Dodge buff of +1/+2/+3. Whenever the User enters or leaves a Style, they may spend 1% Max CP to gain 1/2/3 Omniscient Points.

Notes:
  • The Acc and Dodge buff lasts 5 seconds and does not stack with itself. (The user may only have +3 Acc/Dodge from this passive.)
  • There is no limit of Omniscient Points that can be stored.

Dancing Cherry Blossom Petal - Clan Style
The first style of combat that Nanjirou are painstakingly made to master is the Iao Technique. Originally trained via a katana, the Nanjirou are then encourage to find a weapon they're more comfortable with in order to maximize their combat potential. By placing their weapon into a resting stance, the clan members are taught to maximize their potential in unleashing single attacks in the attempt to end a battle in one blow; this can be done with blade, fist, or even a gun. Those who have seen this beautiful art know that a Nanjirou is at their deadliest when seemingly relaxed in the middle of combat.

Rank 1/2/3: When the user enters the style, they may choose one of the following blade forms. While in this style, the user may spend 1 Omniscient Point to perform another Blade Form:
  • Joyful Blade - The user may add +1 target to an Offensive Taijutsu Technique. The user deals -10% damage for the remainder of the round; this does not stack.
  • Singing Blade - The Offensive Taijutsu Technique does not count as Melee Contact.
  • Seeking Blade - The user may use a Offensive Taijutsu Technique against a stealthed target that they failed an awareness check on, at -5 accuracy.
  • Eviscerating Blade - Doubles both the Critical buff limit and any Critical bonuses the user has, but halves the user's critical damage modifier.

Cost: 0.5 AP

Notes:
  • The user may enter this style as a Chakra or Physical style.

Wisdom of the Ancestors- Buffing Taijutsu
Being able to draw upon their ancestor's is a channel not for strength, but for knowledge. While most samurai are trained in multiple weapons and tend towards mastery of only one, their ability to channel knowledge of ancient warriors that came before them also makes certain that Nanjirou are masters of all weapon styles regardless of preference. The most powerful of Nanjirou can channel the mastery of weapons from their dead ancestors on whim, and then share that knowledge temporarily with others.

Rank 1/2/3: While this technique is maintained, when the user enters or exits a style, they can allow 1/2/3 allies/clones/creations to enter the same style they just entered or exited.

Special Action - Guiding Hand: When the user casts a B Rank or lower Offensive Taijutsu, they can allow 1/2/3 allies/clones/creations to combo with them with the same technique.

Cost: 1.25 AP 240 CP, 120 CP/rnd

Notes:
  • This technique may be maintained for up to 30 seconds.
  • Allied Players already in a Physical or Chakra style will only enter the User's style if they are able to.
  • Allied Players may use a conditional to drop their style to enter the User's style.
  • The special action requires the allies/clones/creations must pay the AP/CP cost.
  • The special action ignores any prerequisites.
  • The special action may be used with Nanjirou Bloodline Techniques.

Zen Shūchū no Kokyū - Buffing Taijutsu
The final technique learned from the clan is a simple breathing technique that only about half of every generation of Nanjirou are able to learn; and only half of those, are able to master. By breathing in oxygen in certain patterns and varying degrees of strength they can control their entire body down to directing blood flow itself. Originally made to put them on an even fighting ground with super-human opponents of their homelands, the Nanjirou continued to used this technique to train their young to keep up with Shinobi when they originally landed. Now that chakra has become a plentiful resource for latter generations, this technique now truly shines as the pinnacle of a samurai's training.

Rank 1/2/3: The User’s next Offensive Taijutsu Technique used with their Ancient Weapon is considered Elemental, and deals +5/10/15% extra elemental damage. The User must choose a Special Action.

Special Actions:
  • First Form - Enbu: For the next 10 seconds, the User may Enter, Exit or Switch Styles for 0 AP.
  • Second Form - Kiki Onkō: The User’s next Offensive Taijutsu Technique, which is a Full Hit, will attempt to strike again at half base damage. The second attack cannot crit or be buffed in any way.
  • Third Form - Heki-ra no Ten: The User heals for 50% of any Offensive Taijutsu Technique used with their Ancient Weapon for the next 5 Seconds.

Cost: 1.75 AP 500 CP

Notes:
  • 0 AP style changes from First Form do not generate Omniscient Points.
  • Second Form is considered a Combo.
  • The user may choose which Base Element when they use this Technique (The user may not chose Advanced Elements.)

Musashi
The Musashi Clan is an outlier that was created by the First Son of Masamune, with the goal of recovering all the weapons Muramasa stole. Unlike the other side of their bloodline, these samurai are soldiers who willingly cut off of their ancestor's guidance, but make up for this selective weakness by carrying multiple weapons they have either managed to recover from Muramasa's Disciples, or fellow brothers fallen in battle. Due to this they also use a style of combat that is unique to them that was rumored to have been created directly by Masamune's son as the only true counter to Muramasa's technique.

Gathered Souls - Passive
Blades that the Musashi have gathered all have one thing in common - they're haunted. While all weapons of the Nanjirou have a connection to their dead ancestors, these once belonged to those who had fallen dishonorably or were killed in an non-honorable fashion making them so that no one else can touch them without going mad. To the Musashi, however, they all claim that when these weapons are grasped in their hands all they can feel is the fury of their fallen kin.

Rank 1/2/3: The user may now have +1/2/3 [Ancient] Augments. The [Ancient] Augment no longer has any alignment or damage bonus. At Rank 2 the user gains a second Sheath Slot, and at rank 3 they regain the +5/10/15% damage buff to its taijutsu subtype.

---

Hyoho Ninten Ichi-ryu - Passive
Literally translated as "Two Heavens, One School," the Hyoho Ninten technique is one shrouded in mystery and legend far beyond the ones trained to those of the clan. Originally created to counter Disciples of Muramasa, the technique has evolved to a point that it cannot be used by those who are in touch with their ancestors; for the sword-form relies not on wisdom and battle tranquility, but a balanced form of raw violence and strength, instead.

Rank 1/2/3: The user gains the ability Ambidexterity and it does not take up a slot. The user may also be equipped with Two [Ancient] Augment weapons at the same time. When the user casts an Offensive Taijutsu technique, they may have the 1/2/3 of the 2nd weapon’s Augments apply.

Notes:
  • Free augments, except [Ancient], from the 2nd weapon do not apply.
  • Identical Augments don’t stack.
  • The User may be passively equipped with both weapons in their Sheath Slots.

Hirenkyaku - [Clan Style]
While many can't grasp the idea of being able to dual-wield two weapons in pure harmony, the Musashi turn their multiple weapon training into a form of discipline, never reaching an "end" to their technique. To wit, one of the strongest forms of combat styles involve purposely taking a hit in order to parry and line up a perfect counter. While most fighters would consider this style suicidal, the Musashi aim for the purpose of striking down a foe in a single viscous blow; much like thir cousins, but with more violence.

Rank 1/2/3: While in this style, the user can take up to -1/-2/-3 dodge to give +15/20/25% Backlash Damage to any hostile target that succeeds in a Full Hit against them. After dealing Backlash Damage to an opponent, the user may drop the style for 0 AP to reflexively perform up to a C/B/A Rank Offensive Taijutsu technique.

Cost:0.5 AP

Notes:
  • Dropping the style to perform an Offensive Taijutsu Technique requires a conditional, but does not take up a Conditional Slot.
  • The user must pay the full costs of the Offensive Taijutsu technique, only the timing is reduced to 0 AP.

Hi-no-kokyū - [Variable Taijutsu]
The breathing techniques taught to Nanjirou in their infancy are never forgotten - even as they forget the ancestors that once lent them strength. Without the connection to an elder soul to perfect the power of Zen Shūchū as most Nanjirou do, the Musashi have stepped into a new realm of techniques that evolved from violence over serenity; a must in the constant battle against Muramasa. These techniques are part of a new generation of Zen Shūchū that many older Nanjirou frown upon, though they cannot deny their prowess in combat.

Rank 1/2/3: The user attempts to strike a Hostile Target at +1/2/3 Acc. The user must select a Special Action to use with this technique. The user has access to the Fourth Form at Rank 1, the Fifth Form at Rank 2, and the Sixth Form at Rank 3.

  • Fourth Form - Nichiun no Ryū Kaburimai: The User may spend up to 1 Omniscient Points to make 4 strikes against a Hostile Opponent, dealing 375/470/560 Physical damage each.
  • Fifth Form - Shunten Giri: By paying up to 2 Omniscient Points, the user strikes for 2060/2475 Physical damage, and can combo with another Taijutsu Technique at one 1/4 of the AP timing.
  • Sixth Form - Kiki Onkō: The user may spend up to 5 Omniscient Points to gain 480 Temp HP per point. While the user has this Temp HP, full hits against them causes 20% Backlash Damage.

Cost: 2.25 AP, 820 CP

Notes:
  • Temp HP follows the standard Temp HP rules.
  • Fifth Form follows standard Combo rules, only the Timing is changed.
  • Sixth Form stacks with Hirenkyaku.

Sentō Saimin - Buffing Taijutsu
Among the Nanjirou are many techniques that have been considered impossible to learn by outsiders not guided by their ancestors. The elder souls who had spent their entire lives perfecting techniques so that their souls can pass on this knowledge to the descendant that lifts their blade. The Musashi are a part of the group unable to master all their clan's techniques - having long ago severed their connection to these elder souls; and yet not a single Nanjirou of the Masamune clan, nor Disciples of Muramasa, go anywhere near their cousins when battle hypnosis has taken control. By throwing themselves completely into the fray and shutting off their minds, the Musashi cut a path through the battlefield to reach their target; and woe be to anyone in between.

Rank 1/2/3: While this technique is maintained, the user gains the following effects:
  • Omni-Step’s Bonus from entering or exiting a style is doubled.
  • The user no longer has a cap on Styles they may be in.
  • Whenever the user casts an Offensive Taijutsu Technique, they may spend 1 Omniscient Point to also make a Free Basic Attack. This can exceed the Free Basic attack limit.

Cost: 2.75 AP, 2475 CP, 1240 CP/rnd

Note:
  • This technique may be maintained up to 30 seconds.
  • When this technique ends, the user drops out of all styles.
  • Only 1 Omniscient Point may be spent per Offensive Technique.

Kinjutsu
Jashinism
JS.jpg

A religious cult centered on death, what others consider atrocities are but a form of worship for the cult of Jashin, who believe their dark lord asks but a simple request of them; to spread chaos and bloodshed. The word of their God is death, and to speak his name is to bring destruction. Worshipers view strong opponents as a blessing, or a trial to overcome in the name of their lord, and pray for forgiveness if incapable of bringing ruin to their enemies. As the ultimate blessing of their faith, the most devote are even able to shrug off the very death they bring with them...

Kinjutsu Table
Information
Prerequisites: Kinjutsu Application, B-Rank, 3 Ability Slots

Effects:
  • The user gains 5% DR that applies to Physical and Elemental damage for each level of Bleeding they have. (Eg, Bleeding Rank 1 would be 5%, Bleeding rank 3 would be 15% etc).
  • User and all actions made by the user are considered Cursed.
  • When performing a Ninjutsu, Genjutsu or Taijutsu, the user may choose to inflict a level of Bleed onto themselves rather than pay the initial Chakra cost (maintain costs are paid via CP as normal, and any HP costs still take HP as usual). The user immediately suffers damage equal to their new Bleed rank, however Ninjutsu/Genjutsu/Taijutsu cast this way have their damage increased by 10%. If this is done at Bleeding Rank 5, they take 7.5% Max HP damage immediately.

Black Sacrament - Kinjutsu Ability
JS7.jpg

Regardless of ones faith, the power wielded by the cult of Jashin is very real. By immersing oneself with the core commandments of the dark faith, one stands to emerge stronger than they were before. It is this very promise of power that often drives its cultists to the ends of fanaticism, for the most devoted are the ones which receive the greatest blessings.

Information
Prerequisites: Jashinism

Effect: The user’s DR applies now applies to Active and Passive damage, (But not illusionary unless otherwise stated)

Special Action - Midnight Mass: The user may spend 0.5 AP to turn their DR into Backlash Damage for 10 seconds, with the Backlash Damage being equal to half the user's DR.

Notes:
  • While Midnight Mass is active, the user no longer gains the benefit of their DR.
  • While Midnight Mass is active, Backlash Damage to Blood Cursed targets adds to the [Bloodpool].
  • Use of the special action has a 10 second cooldown.

Consecration - Kinjutsu Style
JS6.jpg

The core virtue of Jashinism is death, and blood is the sacred medium through which they channel their dark rituals. By ingesting the blood of their target (henceforth, the sacrifice), the Jashinist may call upon the power of their god to 'consecrate' their sacrifice with the essence of death. When wielding this power, the cultist takes on a sacred form, often reminiscent of a skeleton, to act as a reaper or emissary of their god. It is considered the gravest of sins to fail to kill a sacrifice offered to Jashin, or to use this power against another follower.

Information
Prerequisites: Jashinism

Effect:
  • Upon entering this style, the user gains a [Bloodpool]
  • The [Bloodpool] stores damage equal to all damage prevented by the user’s DR. This damage is stored until Prayer - Divine Judgement is used.

Special Action - Communion: While in this style, whenever the user successfully inflicts a rank of Bleed onto a target, they may reflexively spend 0.5 AP and 300 CP/Rnd, to inflict [Blood Cursed] status.
  • [Blood Cursed]: Any Cursed-aligned offensive techniques cast at a [Blood Cursed] target always apply their alignment-based effects.
  • [Blood Cursed] also unlocks additional effects in Jashinist techniques.

Notes:
  • May be either a Physical or Chakra style (user's choice)
  • Reusing Consecration dispels it from anyone previously affected.
  • [Blood Cursed] is considered an active effect on any opponents which are afflicted by it and can be dispelled as such. If an opponent has their Blood Cursed status dispelled then Consecration Special Action must be used again to re-inflict the Blood Cursed status.
  • Dropping Consecration dispels all stored damage.

Prayer - Malicious Intent - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
JS4.jpg

Emissaries of chaos, a devout Jashinist revels in the opportunity to follow in the teachings of their faith; battle. Craving carnage, the Jashinist faith thank their lord before and after any battle, but even during battle keep their beliefs close to heart. This belief is strong enough to even shrug off mortal wounds.

Information
Prerequisites B-Rank

Rank 1/2: For 10 seconds, any Non-Genjutsu effects which reduce the user's Accuracy, Dodge or Damage are halved/Ignored. In addition the user's Damage Reduction cannot be ignored or reduced during this time.

Rank 1/2 Cost: 2.5 AP and 730/900 CP

Note:
  • Prayer - Malicious Intent is not a maintained effect and cannot be dispelled as such.
  • This technique does not include self inflicted debuffs, (eg: Defensive Stance, Nanjirou's Iaijutsu Mastery or Kyoujouran's Spirit Remedy)

Prayer - Last Breath - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
JS7.jpg

Death is an art form to a Jashinist. Like a master painter learns how each and every color in the spectrum to turn their brush and how to use each pigment to it's fullest potential to Jashinist learns over the course of their career how to wield their faith to manipulate the mortality of their foes and hasten them to their ultimate end.

Information
Prerequisites B-Rank

Rank 1/2: The user casts at a Hostile Target at -1/-0 Acc to inflict a -5 to the victim's HP modifier for the rest of the battle. Additionally, the user gains a +5 HP Mod, increasing their Current and Max HP.

Special Action - Coup de grâce: If used on an Unconscious Target with 0 HP or less, the target can no longer regain consciousness by any means for the remainder of the battle.

[Blood Cursed]: If the target is Blood Cursed, then this attack passes through any barriers.

Cost: 2.5 AP and 900/1125 CP

Note:
  • The user may choose Ninjutsu or Taijutsu Accuracy for this technique.
  • This Technique and Special action may only be used once each successfully per target regardless of source. (Eg: if two Jashinists were to use it on the same target, only the first successful one would work)

Prayer - Divine Judgement - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
JS3.jpg

The most feared aspect of the Jashin faith is the greatest of curses and miracles; a ritual capable of linking life and death itself. Through the offering of blood, a Jashinist can share their pain and wounds with those linked to the cultist, essentially becoming a living voodoo doll.

Information
Prerequisites: A-Rank

Rank 1/2: Attempts to inflict the damage stored by [Bloodpool] to all [Blood Cursed] targets using an Ninjutsu/Taijutsu check with a +0/+2 bonus. This damage cannot be increased or reduced.

Cost: 3 AP, CP equal to half/quarter of the damage dealt.

Note:
  • Divine Judgment does not require handseals.
  • This damage does not have a cap.
  • Successfully using this Technique resets the damage stored by Consecration to 0 regardless of if it affected all targets or only one.

Prayer - Absolute Faith - S-Rank Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
LiJN9ta.png

To exist is to one day perish. Petitioning to their faith, a most devote cultist may be granted the sacred honor of wearing the Robes of Jashin, raiments formed from the pure essence of their diety's domain; Death. The Jashinist's skin start to darken into the inky depths of death, with the stark white prayer lines appearing over the body, giving the Jashinist a skeletal appearance.

Information
Prerequisites: S-Rank

Rank 1/2: For 15/20 seconds the User heals 10%/20% of all damage they take.

Blood Cursed: Whenever the user takes damage, with a successful Ninjutsu/Taijutsu check, any Hostile Target that is Blood Cursed takes the healed amount as damage, and any debuffs applied to the user also applies to the Blood Cursed target. On a failed check, they take half the damage and half the debuffs. This damage cannot be reduced or buffed by any means.

Master Rank Cost: 4 AP and 4000 CP.

Note:
  • Prayer - Absolute Faith counts as Chakra Armour.
  • Black Sacrament's Midnight Mass Special action's may be used for 0 AP when this technique is cast, and lasts the entire duration of this technique.
  • Prayer - Absolute Faith is not a maintained effect and cannot be dispelled as such.
